Two acquaintances of my mother recommended this restaurant and let's just say this place did not disappoint. Only downfall to start, we had to park across the street but the walk was short. We had to look out for traffic, but other than that no major complaint. We stopped in for lunch near opening time and it was not too busy. We were seated immediately. The waitress was nice and attentive. We all ordered the clam chowder and the Seafood Classic with "the shake sauce". I really liked the clam chowder. If you like thick chowder, you may not like this. This was a lighter chowder with bits of clams and a few potatoes. My mother didn't like hers as she found it to be too thin with more soup than ingredients. My sister and I enjoyed the chowder and I'd definitely order again. The "seafood shake classic" consists of a 1/2-lb each of : shrimp, clams in shell, snow crab, and sausage; along with 2-pcs of corn (sweet and crisp) and potatoes. It comes in a plastic bag with sauce in a metal bucket. The shake sauce has lots of spice and flavor. The staff provides bibs and plastic gloves. You really need it. There is no way to eat this neatly at all. We each ate ours differently. The table has thick white paper on it so my sister just dumped her entire bucket on the table; my mother took her bag out of bucket and ate from that; I just ate from the bag/bucket with a bib and gloves. I literally stuffed myself. I was from out of town and could not take my leftovers with me (well it would have been risky). So I just opted to eat everything I could. My only issue was with the snow crab legs. I thought the crab legs could have been larger and they were a tad overcooked as I failed to break open a leg and get the meat out intact. This place has an awesome setup and it looks great but im not sure if it'll last. Why? We had a big party and we were the only ones in there even when we left. I hope they do make it though but they are also pretty pricey. What's cool is that they are connected to the rolled icecream place next door. I will say now, WE HAD HORRIBLE SERVICE. I think they just hired anyone who applied because you could easily tell by the servers who were serving us. They were the type who didn't like to work and would just like to get paid. DO NOT get the fried stuff. From what I saw ordered, they were all over battered and over fried. They looked horrible. I ordered 2#'s of crawfish and added a side of sausage. I ended up with 1# and the sausage. Food wise, it's okay. I've had experience elsewhere so these weren't mind blowing. I also ordered half a dozen oysters and they were all SALTY! It's like they dumped salt on them. Even with lemon and cocktail, it was just too salty to eat. There were others had ordered oysters as well and they said theirs weren't salty but the quality sucked. Hardly anything to eat inside. The raw oysters were okay. That was probably the low point. I had the seafood boil which is basically an Asian style spicy dish here they put it in a pan with heat underneath and it remains boiling while you eat. I had the crawfish, shrimp and mussels. I added some seaweed and enoki mushrooms. It was excellent. I believe this place can do a little better, but I still think it's underrated. If you like seafood, you should try it. Didn't receive all my food. Order was messed up and waitress got Jenny supposedly the owner or manager. She got lost and no one could find her to resolve issue. When I called she was busy stopped in the restaurant to talk face to face with her and she told me I waited too long she and refused to accept responsibility for not resolving the problem and still wasn't willing to resolve it. Pretty good! The experience over all is pretty good and fun. Deff a messy meal. Service was so-so...I will say there were 10 of us so it was a little crazy. This isn't your traditional seafood place- everything is pretty much garlic and Cajun- very southern style. Prices are so-so too. They vary depending on the season. Wouldn't say it's cheap nor super expensive. They say the seafood is fresh and im not doubting it but hard to tell with all the seasoning. I would come again sometime. read more

I tried to place when they first opened but I haven't been back in awhile. Our usual spot on lee road had a two hour wait so we decided to check them out. It was a 35 min wait, which wasn't that bad. We took seats at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail while we waited. The bartender was nice and moved at lightening speed. However he was working alone, handling the busy waiting area and making drinks for table. It's a lil weird that the bar is directly in front, so you awkwardly sit drinking with ppl standing behind you. When we were taken back to our table, it was... strange.. our table was small and oddly placed in the middle of the room and it was missing a chair.. they were super busy and had to grab another chair from a different table. We were seated with no menus... our server arrived and asked for our drink order.. I had to point out the obvious.. that we had no menus.. we ordered the seafood shake classic which came with claims, potatoes, corn, sausage, shrimp and crabs and we also got another bag with just crab legs. We got the shake sauce with mild heat. The food came out fast and was pretty good. However more then half of our clam shells were either empty or never opened. We had to borrow gloves from another table because they were never provided. The shake sauce was mostly heat. Not amazing but not bad. Update for today of going my second time om 7/26/19 me & husband both got the seafood lover classic bag. We switch out the sausage for fish tofu which is really good OMG ( if that what tofu taste like I can be a vegetarian it was my first time eating anything tofu ) but in are bags we had clams, mussels, crab legs, shrimp, corn, & potatoes. We also got their new slushes called the "Oompa Loompa " like of the Willy Wonker chocolate factory movie. I got fruit punch my husband got the orange one. They come with candy in the slushy it was so good you can get alcohol in it if you want to. The food was good ( but I wish spicy on the season for the bag be actually "spicy or actually HOT" I said extremely hot & it wasn't but might be to others why they consider it hot. I ordered chicken wings and fries I bit into the chicken all I saw was black in the middle of the chicken. I told waiter she went to get jenny who's suppose to be the manager,which I found out she's the owner.i explained I cant eat this chicken and would you refund me. Food: The food was great. We had the seafood lovers with garlic butter and fried oysters- it was delicious. Customer Service: Just plain bad. When me and my friend arrived we notified the lady up front that we had reservations and she looked at us like she was confused and didn't know what we meant. My friend repeated her name and reservation time and the girl looked lost which made us wonder if perhaps English was not her first language (which is okay but Don't have her be the host/greeter if she doesn't fully understand English). She then proceeded to say she works for the ice cream shop next door and was new.. The "ice cream host" then tried to seat us at a table for 6 and there was only 2 of us. We wanted a booth and were told by another host who interferes that one would be available in a few minutes. The ice cream host then had us stand in the middle of the restaurant waiting for the table. Didn't tell us to go to the waiting area- just a few minutes of awkward silence and stares. Then the booth is cleaned and available just for another couple to be seated in it before our very eyes by another host. We believe that since we had a reservation we should be the priority and a booth should have been prepared for us. There needs to be better communication between the waitresses and host/waitress. The ice cream host then proceeded to tell us I'm sorry were unprepared. It is not her fault completely. She should have been trained way better before having her do hosting AND be our waitress. We then asked to be seated at another table that we preferred to the huge one we previously had been seated at which was no problem. The host again was not knowledgeable about the food and had to come back and ask us our flavor choice for the appetizer- again proof this young lady needed more training. Only once did another waitress "check on us" she walked by and I happened to get her attention. The only other time I was able to get this other waitress attention was after several attempts to get our check. The service was beyond poor this Friday evening and the front end with our table was neglected despite the amount of people in the restaurant all the booths were filled plus our single lonesome table. And a few booths emptied during our meal (of course). We were neglecting still despite the dwindling attendance. A surprisingly good time. Got the seafood lover with medium "shake" sauce and then the appetizer sampler. The breading on the app was perfect. The amount of food with the main course was a pretty decent amount for two people, barely finished it all. The sauce was divine and the medium heat packed a solid punch, but nothing over the top. It's an extremely messy process. No plates or silverware, you just dump your bucket (easiest method) and dive in. They do offer: bibs, gloves, and there are two sinks in the hallway outside of the bathrooms. I will definitely be going back and recommending this to everyone in the area. read more

Went there for my birthday celebration. We had a new waitress that struggled but the food was amazing and upon request I got a wonderful bday song. I say check it out. I got 1lb of King Crab legs and 1lb of Peeled Shrimp both in garlic butter sauce. I got mild on the legs and extra spicy for the shrimp. The shrimp sauce was better. I ordered a perch dinner with fries. The fish was undercooked and tasted like corn meal. I advised the manager that I did not like the food. She refused to take the meal off of my bill and offered to re-make it. The second version was exactly the same (poorly prepared and lacked flavor). The manager became argumentative stating "I can show you in the computer how many people have ordered the perch and liked it." Among other irrelevant comments. I again asked to have the meal removed and she referred me to a sign on the front door saying the police would be called if I did not pay. Poor customer service is an understatement. We decided to pay Seafood Shack another visit since we hadn't been in a few months. Still not many customer but service and food was bad too. We ordered the beginner boil bag, and a number of the clams were not cooked through, the corn was flavorless and one of the pieces was dried out, and one of the potatoes was ROTTEN. All they did was give us a few extra clams and a potato like it was no big deal??? The crawfish also tasted funny. Such a disappointment.... looks like the business has never hit their stride. I have eaten here 3 times since they unofficially opened to their official opening, and each time I dined at this beautiful establishment the food (namely their signature shake sauce) has gone up multiple levels. They are continually innovating their shake sauce so that you are left satisfied and craving for more. They have tanks filled with live(!) shellfish so you are sure that the seafood you receive is fresh. I absolutely loved the mussels and Dungeness crab (fried shake style). The mussels were plump, juicy, and not too salty. The Dungeness crab was fantastic, the batter was flavorful and the meat was tender. Oh! The clam chowder is a must, there is a generous amount of sliced clam in the chowder, and it is rich and creamy. The service is on point, our waitress, Ivy, was very attentive and kept my cup full and offered great recommendations, such as the clam chowder and Dungeness crab. Also, if you have room for dessert I recommend the ice cream shop next door. It is a unique Thai style ice cream that is made right in front of you t your specifications. The concept is pretty cool. No plates, no silverware, just use your hands. Seafood is meant to be messy and yummy so I can appreciate that. However, there are some kinks to be worked out considering the restaurant just opened last week. The wait staff (Tia) was patient and knowledgeable with the menu which is VERY important considering that the menu is somewhat confusing. I think the owners should consider adding descriptions to each menu item. Also, for some reason the kitchen ran out of clean small forks for our use although it wasn't that crowded. We ordered the calamari and shrimp appetizer which was in a weird beer-batter. The calamari was also really tough. The saving grace for the appetizer was the yum yum sauce served with it. We also both ordered the snow crab legs with the medium- spiced shake sauce. All I have to say it that the medium spice was a lot more spicier than I would have thought. Still tasty, but just very spicy. Overall, our experience was decent. We had a fun time eating our food with the bibs and gloves. read more

I've been eyeing this place for quite some time, but I had the inspiration to try it out with my boyfriend. We went in on a Saturday night around 8:30, and waited for about 25 minutes for a table. Don't let this place fool you. As soon as we made way in the back, there was a slew of tables and TVs around. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She took our drink orders and I ordered the Passion Love while my boyfriend had a lemonade. Best drink ever! For the entrees, I had a lb of crab legs with shake sauce while my bf had a lb crawfish with lemon pepper. The pick your own bag concept comes with a protein, a sauce, and one piece of corn and a potato. Food came out within ten minutes, and it was AMAZING! This place might be on the pricy side, but hey, it's seafood; and you get what you paid for. Way overpriced on the food. The beer was reasonable enough... but I ordered Calamari and sweet potato fries, and was looking under the small paper boat for the rest of the food! Pricey but my husband and i love it. They're never busy which worries us as we think they may shut down, which would be disappointing. Food is great, we usually get one meal and thats enough for both of us. Fried shrimp is amazing and fries are also good. If you dont want to get the seafood bags they have other food (like shrimp and fries) i think also chicken tenders and things like that. The first time we went we weren't given cracking thingies for the crab or picking forks but (according to my asian husband) that's because it's owned by Asians and asians dont use those haha. However everytime since they've given them to us without asking. 100% recommend read more
