This was my first time dining at Sea-Guini and I loved every bit of it. We didn't stay at the Opal sands resort but the staff treated myself and my family as if they were honored to have us. I got the short rib pasta and added blackened shrimp to mine and had a traditional mojito everything was impeccable! At the end of dinner, our waiter served us complimentary little custard desserts that were soooo tasty! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Clearwater read more

I don't usually leave reviews and I expected more from a place like this but for $87 a plate for buffet for Thanksgiving dinner plus 20% tip plus $15 parking & more to tip valet was too much for the quality of food. The crab was over cooked, the meat stuck to the inside so it was hard to get out. Stuffing was like a stove top stuffing, sea bass had no taste even with a creamy sauce and honestly I love chocolate cupcakes but I took one bite and left the rest. On the plus side, the turkey and gravy were good, the service and the atmosphere were great but for that price I won't do it again. read more

Service was good modern deco and decent food. For dinner, I had the special of that day, sea bass. My friend has grouper. Big portion and beautiful plating. But they charge $5 for bread basket. Only 5-6 pieces of bread but they were dry and hard. Almost broke my teeth. Not edible yet they charge $5. Next day, for lunch I had Caesar salad. Lettuce wasn't really fresh. Very disappointing. However the location is very convenient. read more

Nice setting, good food and little pricey but the view is pretty great and the seating is comfortable. I had scallops, my friend and I shared a shrimp cocktail. My husband had the grouper and it was prepared well. Our waiter was there as needed but not much personality and actually made a reference of not having to converse with the guests?? I think he's in the wrong industry. Hospitality!! read more

Great restaurant! Located inside the Opal Sands Resort, Sea-Guini is a must try if you are in Clearwater. From the elegant coastal decor and ambiance to the excellent service and delicious food , I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience. Our server was excellent and personable even providing a surprise birthday treat ! The highlight of the meal for me was definitely the lobster bisque : sweet lobster chunks in a rich lobster and sherry cream - it is delicious and a must if you are a lobster fan ! Truly wonderful meal and service. The food was great. Had the scallops and they were nicely prepared and delicious. The bureta appetizer was equally good and the bred basket with ricotta cheese and tomato sauce was wonderful. They have a reasonable priced wine list although they need more variety other than just California offerings read more

Food was decent! Ambience & service were great! We thought it was overpriced for the taste of the food but would give it for the ambience and views of sunset & the light up pool! We got a deconstructed bruschetta, a veggie pasta and one from the specials. Also got a complimentary oreo cheesecake for birthday when we didn't order any dessert as we were soo full and had all sugar throughout the day! Our server said they didn't want us to leave without a dessert for a birthday We ate the melted cheesecake in Florida's heat on a island state park the next day. It still tasted delicious read more

My party had a group of 5. Our server was Max. He was very polite, and gave us very helpful suggestions for food, drinks, and deserts. The food was outstanding and met all of our expectations. When we ordered deserts, a member of our party didn't order any due to an allergy. Max kindly gave us complimentary sorbet for the party member, as well as some savoring chocolate cake bites. My husband and I came here and unexpectedly absolutely enjoyed every single part of this restaurant from the ambience to the food. I received a penn pasta and I got chicken on top which was really great moist and it wasn't too thick of a chicken my husband he got the pizza and it was so good the crust they make it right in front of you before they put it in the clay oven. I would highly recommend. read more

This restaurant is situated within the Opal Sands Resort. If you can, try and request a table with a view of the ocean. The ambience of the restaurant was great with lots of guests stopping by for a seat at the bar. Overall the food was very good. We had a scrimp cocktail to start - very fresh and the cocktail sauce had the right balance. I had the short rib with rustic vegetables which was amazing. My wife had the grouper on a bed of risotto which she liked. For desert we shared a tiramisu which needs work - the bottom layer was very dry. I can't remember the name of the waiter but he was very attentive and friendly. We would definitely return!!! read more

The food was delicious. We're NYC foodies, and we're happy to find this level of cuisine in a waterfront location in our new hometown of Clearwater. We asked for a table outside so we could watch the sunset over the water, and had to wait 30 mins (we got there 30 mins ahead of time), so we headed down the stairs to the Beach Bar 1 floor below. We had a lovely view of the water, great service and top notch cocktails: I had a blackberry mojito and my husband had a strawberry daiquiri. Yum! (My husband was a little miffed that we waited 45 minutes for our entrees, but it's a hotel. And we had delicious fresh breads and Caesar salad, so it didn't bother me.) Back upstairs, our table looked out over the Gulf. We ordered another round of drinks, me a prosecco with the diver scallops crusted in porcini mushrooms and hubby had a glass of Pinot Grigio with his grouper. Everything was excellent and the wait service was friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful evening. Our dear friends had given us a gift certificate for dinner here as a housewarming gift. High end dining experience with great service. You are sitting near the pool overlooking the view of the city of Clearwater and beach waves rolling in. Ambiance is just there. Everyone is dressed semi-classy. The food was good and served very quickly. There was nothing that was over-the-top special and it was kind of pricey. But hey, it's one of those places where you are paying for the experience. read more

We had a nice dinner here when we stayed in Clearwater. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. I like the water light installation in the middle. We weren't super hungry so we had a lighter dinner: salads, lobster bisque, and pizza. It all was really good and ended up opening our appetite. So we did order a Creme Brûlée for dessert. It was a big serving with an orangey flavor and very delicious. read more

The was our second time here. The first time was great, the food and service both were in line with what you pay. This time the food was still great but the service was not. Our waiter was nice but not around much. Our appetizer came out within a minute of our mains. The manager apologized but both were good. At the end of our meal we ordered coffee and a dessert. However, neither ever showed up. In fact our waiter asked if we had seen our dessert, which we told him no and asked for the bill. The wait was long enough that we had time to take our two kids to the beach, put their feet in the water and come back prior to the waiter coming by. If you remove the slow and somewhat inattentive service it was a nice night. read more

Did not live up to the hype or the stellar ratings on Yelp. Was really excited to eat here and while the restaurant and the views were fantastic, the food was not good. I'm shocked at all the compliments this restaurant gets with their food. It's an Italian restaurant and you would expect their pasta to be fantastic, but the pasta was so so bad. Appetizers: We got the Rustica pizza, brussels sprouts and the lobster bisque. The pizza and brussels sprouts were excellent. Loved the dip the sprouts came with. The lobster bisque wasn't very bisque-y, but it was very tasty. Usually lobster bisques are overly salty but this was not. We ordered one lobster bisque, but they brought out two bowls since there were two of us, and I thought that was super fantastic of them to do that. Entrees: We got the penne a la vodka and pappardelle bolognese (replaced rigatoni with pappardelle). Quantity wise, both dishes were immensely large. We definitely could have split one dish between the two of us. But the pasta simply was not good. Both pastas came out lukewarm and were WAY overcooked. It was al dente plus 10 minutes. There was no chew to the pasta and eating overcooked, lukewarm pasta is just not a great experience. I would not get the pasta here again. We also go the smokey old-fashioned and that was an AMAZING drink. The drinks here are definitely the stars of the show. I wish we just came here for drinks and ate elsewhere but too late now. The service was decent, but they brought the bread out after we were halfway through our entrees, so terrible timing on their part. The bread was fairly good but I think could be enhanced more if they gave it with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Overall, glad we came here since the views were great, but was severely disappointed with the pastas. My friends who sat at a different table also shared the same opinions on the pasta. read more

Locals BOYCOTT!!! They are abusing residents after the storm. Cold hearted and hateful! We try to be good neighbors and patronize the place. Pay for an expensive (very over priced dinner) have out valet parking ticket validated. We valeted only because there is no public parking due to the storm and what did you get back from Opal Sands and ScrewGuini?? A $15 valet parking charge. Sickened by the callous nature of places like this. Locals please join us in BOYCOTTING!!! read more

Sea-Guini is one of those popular types of fine dining restaurants which is always busy and crowded, and you feel like you're not particularly special when dining there because (a) there are just too many people and (b) the waitstaff is sometimes overwhelmed. Our dining experience on a weekday night started off with us arriving on time for our reservation, but being asked to wait as they were just clearing some tables. I abhor restaurants that don't honor the time of their reservations, and I've been at larger, busier restaurants where waiting was just not a thing. At this restaurant, it is definitely a "thing." We watched as they made every customer wait 10-20 minutes after their reservation time; we waited 15 minutes. (And annoyingly, a couple that arrived after us was seated before us.) We were eventually seated in the main dining room, which has a very modern and has an interesting decor. If you make your reservation before sunset, you will be treated to spectacular views, as this restaurant is in a hotel which is situated right on the beach. I mean, the sunsets really are amazing here, and I imagine that (and the delicious food!) are the main reasons people book here. Within a few minutes of seating, our waiter came over and introduced himself, but said he'd be "right back" to take our drink orders. The "right back" was over 15 minutes later. Did I mention the servers seemed sometimes overwhelmed? (Especially our server; other servers seemed to be doing better.) By that time, we saw the writing on the wall in terms of the service, so when he did reappear, we put in our entire order, which included a bread basket (bread is not complimentary). Again it took another 10-15 minutes for the drinks and bread to arrive, which apparently they cook to order. It was warm and delicious, while our wine selections were excellent. Things got better in terms of timing when our salads came out, then our entrees. I got the amazing red snapper (delicious!) and my wife got the short rib (also delicious!). Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavors really complemented one another. The food was absolutely spot-on, awesome, and worth the wait -- but it was a pretty long wait. (It was a very busy night, entirely packed when we were seated.) By the time we left the restaurant, it went from being completely packed to being mostly empty. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience, and I'd recommend you checking it out. The front of house staff could really do with improving the initial experience, as they were very stand-offish and no apology for the wait. Also, if you can't keep to your reservation times, maybe take fewer reservations out of respect for your customers? read more

It is seriously the BEST pina colada I have ever had. They use a simple mix and a dark rum, but it tasted like heaven. The ice was perfectly blended and since we were inside, they give you a straw (I can understand that many seagulls probably choke on straws that are carelessly strewn on the beach from the tiki bar customers). And lets face it, pina coladas were made for drinking with a straw. When I mentioned that this was the best pina colada I had ever had to the bar tender as I ordered a second one, she drizzled more rum on top! I was a very happy, very tipsy customer after that pina colada. This bar is just as good, or better than the famed tiki bar at the beach... They also tend to run out of the pina colada mix at the tiki bar (but still serve the drink with half the mix!!) and gave me a bit of attitude instead of explaining why I can't get a straw when I asked for one. I am extremely disappointed with the experience my partner and I had this past Saturday. We arrived a little over an hour before closing, excited to try the food after reading the great reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly. We tried to get the attention of four different employees, but we were blatantly ignored. It felt as if we were being judged based on the color of our skin, which is incredibly disheartening. After having to physically walk in front of someone to ask whether we should seat ourselves, we were told, "yes." Then, another man, who appeared to be a manager, informed us that they were no longer serving food and were only offering drinks. The first employee recommended some other places, but none were comparable to the caliber of this restaurant. It felt like a brush-off. What made it worse was the feeling that we were being judged, not for who we are but for our appearance. Little do they know, I work in tech, and my partner works in finance, so we can more than appreciate and afford fine dining. In contrast, we walked down the street to Crabby's, where we were treated with respect and kindness, and the food and service were 10 times better. It's sad to think that in this day and age, anyone could be treated this way. I hope this serves as a wake-up call to the restaurant to treat every guest with the respect they deserve. read more

Sea-Guini was the last of our four selections for Clearwater Restaurant Week, and it turned that we had saved the best for last. Our visit was made special by the staff. From the pleasant greeting by our Hostess Julie, to informative Sous Chef John, to our knowledgeable, attentive, enthusiastic waiter Noel, to AJ the caring, knowledgeable Restaurant Manger came a wonderful symphony of service. My wife ordered the Sea-Guini Restaurant Week presentation and was absolutely delighted. My daughter and I, with smaller appetites, selected from the menu and followed recommendations given us by Noel. We did not even have to venture to the right side of the menu to find all we needed for a delightful dinner. Two of our selections, by themselves, made the visit to Sea-Guini a wonderful success. Just had the most incredible dinner celebration for my daughter's 19th Birthday! There were five of us dining and we were totally pampered! Aliyah greeted and promptly seated us at a table overlooking the water. Our server, Turner, was beyond perfect. Just the right amount of attention exactly when we needed him. His recommendations were spot on. We started with an array of cocktails and the Fonduta appetizer which was delish. Three of our party had lobster bisque which was a true culinary delight. As for meals I started with the Bibb salad and went onto the Diver Scallops. Dessert was a trio of their best! You can not go wrong at this place. Exceeded expectations all around. We each got something different-grouper, hog fish, penne pasta, vegetable spaghetti-so we could get a good sample of the menu. We also tried calamari and 2 desserts. It was a Wednesday night and we sat outside on a beautiful evening with a beautiful breeze and sunset. The ambiance was fabulous. We brought two NYC chefs (both Italian) with us and they both agreed the kitchen did a very nice job. The service was excellent. Service was wonderful and friendly, restaurant atmosphere and view are great, and food was nicely presented and tasty. We started with the Lobster Bisque and were very impressed. For dinner, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass special and my husband had the Grouper off the regular menu. Both were perfectly cooked and the preparation styles matched wonderfully. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, and the service was excellent from start to finish. I've been in hospitality for over 15 years and was very disappointed in the accommodation. I made an early reservation to celebrate my grandmothers birthday. We arrived and were the only table seated. 10 minutes later they seated a table of 8 with 2 screaming kids at the table directly next to us.... with a completely empty resturant. The service was friendly, the happy hour was spot on, and the drinks were strong and delicious! We would have definitely gone twice on our trip if we had more time.

They cook to your order. I had the key lime pie cocktail and it was creamy and good as well. Server was attentive and made good recommendation's. BRING A SWEATER. It is freezing in there.

After dropping the plates out server disappeared for 30 minutes. When she finally returned and saw the uneaten food she quickly apologized for not checking on us and removed the items from our bill. What this tells me is no one is paying attention in the kitchen. Had they, they never would have served this garbage. Hey Owner, how you do anything is how you do everything. I know what you're doing. Shameful Oh, remember my rule about the filth they show you isn't half as bad as what you don't see. Check out the rear of the restaurant. Out in the open for all to see. I think the ratios were pretty off bc we omitted the chili. We asked for more salsa and jalapeños but were asked to pay more, which frustrated us. They got us huge portions of both and also had to change out the gas tank to get my mom a soda. I think the bartender deserves an applaud but I think next time I'd just come for the views and drinks, no food.
