What a crappy service and outright harassment. Towards the end, I asked for little bit of some trimming at the back and she demanded I pay her for 2 haircuts because apparently that means she need to start all over again. I wanted to compensate her with tips but her aggressive behavior made me change my mind. After I refused to pay for 2 haircuts, she blocked my way and threatened that she won't let me leave. 5/6/26 Sean's Barber Shop in Fremont CA is under new family ownership. I have been a customer of the original owner for many years and have seen the customer service and support decrease greatly. My last visit to the Barber Shop will be my last. I clearly indicated hair triming instructions bu the wife owner ingored my instructions. I pointed this outshe agreed and decided to give me a free haircut. I now no longer want to give my haircut business to this barber shop. I had an amazing experience at this salon! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and the vibe was so relaxing. Thuy gave me an A1 haircut , she really listened to what I wanted, suggested some tweaks that made it even better, and the result was perfection. My hair has never looked this fresh and styled. I've been getting my hair cut here for a little over a year now so I know what to expect, but the first couple of times I was very pleasantly surprised (still am) to find out that the only substantial difference between the hair cut I received from the ladies at Sean's Barber Shop and my previous barber was the pricing. In other words, the barbers here were able to give me my regular fade and comb over at a fraction of the price my previous barber was charging. I wasn't expecting to randomly walk in a barbershop and get this lucky. Every time I've done so in the past, the saying "you get what you pay for" couldn't have been more applicable. Fortunately, I was feeling particularly bold the day I decided to impulsively walk in Sean's barber shop for the first time, and for the first time, I felt like I got more than I paid for. I saw mostly good reviews and only a few bad so I decided to give this place a shot before a wedding since I was starting nearby. Huge mistake! Lisa gave me what is probably top 5 worst haircuts I've ever gotten in my life. Didn't listen to what I wanted and just did what she wanted. She finished in 10 min and had ZERO care about making both sides even or giving me anything remotely close to what I asked for. Please avoid this place even if you have to drive 30+ min. I'm going to have to get a haircut again in two days to fix this mess. read more

Been going to this place for a while but they've recently let me down. I got a perm a while ago that was quite expensive from a salon in Milpitas but they did a good job in making sure my hair grew out normally. Went to Sean's just hoping to get a bit off the sides and off the top. Nope, despite me telling them that - they just said "undercut" and proceeded to shave off half my head. I just don't think they know how to cut Korean style hair cuts . I merely went to them to just make it less heavy on my head bc my hair was long . My whole perm got destroyed. I can't go to work like this especially with an important work event in early December. Never coming again. After a long Sunday shift I called Sean's to see if I could pop in for a trim and fade. Even though it was almost closing time, Lori happily said come on down and even worked past closing to give me one of the best cuts I've had. I decided somehow to cut my own hair last night and I butchered it. My kids and wife laughed at it. I needed to make my hair look less horrible before going into the office. So I called the shop around 8:50 am on the way to work and Lori told me to just come. I got there and Lori fixed my hair. I am pretty impressed with her work. She does great work and also she is very friendly. I am definitely getting my haircut from her moving forward. read more

I hate writing anything negative about a place where people make a living off of a great trade, but I find it almost a public service to give a heads up about this place. For context, I didn't want to even write a negative review until the very end of this experience. I didn't ask for anything complex at all. A mid fade and to "keep the top long." I had been growing it out for 6 months. It looks good longer up too. My girlfriend likes it. I have a giant head and it hides it. I rarely have to go to other barbers than my regular, but I've never had someone mess up "mid fade, and keep the top long." It's fast to cut in a rush too. If I have an interview with another company, I just have to trim my beard and it looks amazing. It's looked good for years. The lines of where to cut and not cut are borderline obvious for any barber because of how many times I had clearly gotten that cut. Out of the blue during my haircut, my barber decides to straight up cut off well over half of my length at the front at first. I was polite (although pretty rattled because it's my hair) and told her that I wanted to keep it long. She said "I'm sorry!" and proceeded to stop cutting the front and just started turning my mid fade an straight up undercut. After asking her to stop cutting the top short twice, I got switched to another barber. Look, after getting your long hair lopped off twice after very much not asking for it to happen, the last thing I want to hear is how it's good that I can do my hair fast in the morning now. You cut all of my hair off and in a way that was the opposite of what I asked for. I don't want to know how it is convenient, I just want the weird little undercut I have on my head fixed as much as possible. Being told that the haircut is free now isn't a perk either. A free haircut doesn't fix my awful looking head that is now missing all of the hair on top that took well over half a year to grow out...or the fact that my head honestly looks awful. Now, I also get that someone showing up in work clothes might make me appear a bit disheveled. I had to spend a lot of the day outside and was looking forward to just sitting down. It just happened that I needed a quick, simple haircut that anyone can do before traveling back home for a wedding. The very last thing someone would like during a frustrating work call after having their head mangled is an offer to "pay cash to go get it fixed somewhere else" or being told that it looks "great in [his] opinion" while having to jump onto a work call after this already deflating experience. I'm already miserable and having to work after being made to look pretty awful. I don't need the charity offer or being told something that was the total opposite of what I wanted to happen today looks good. I'm polite, but 99% of people in that situation would have just exploded. Honestly, it was sort of salt in the wound and is the main reason why I'm writing this. If you area a regular and they know what you want always, sweet! Go in. If you have been working yourself to death and just wanted a basic fade and cleanup with basic instructions followed before your friend's wedding, avoid this place like the plague. Having to ask "please stop cutting my hair short" and getting an undercut as a response sucks. Once someone's hair gets mangled that bad, just don't rub salt in the wound because they are being polite? Thank you for giving my 36 year old self a childish and very unflattering haircut, and then acting like I'm a charity case. Smooth like a laxative. read more

For the first time, I brought my son to a barber for his haircut. I usually get his trims at whatever salon I go. Since no one can get the hair cut that I want for him, I keep on changing and looking for the one who can get it. I saw this place and went for it. My son have always been sporting a long hair so I just needed a trim for him; cut the bangs, the sides, and the back. Easy, right? But people still cant get what I want. I just want a simple hair cut - apple cut. The person who's working here kinda got it. CLOSE but not exactly what I imagined but still did an awesome job. SHe layered the bangs, sides, and the back. I only wanted the sides and bangs but she did it for the back as well which turned out ok. She worked on his hair pretty fast. We were out the door in no time. I love this place because of one thing and one thing only: consistency. If you come here and get a cut that you like, you can expect that same cut from there on out. Of course, this isn't saying that you will like the place if you don't end up looking the way you want your first time there, but for me it worked out great. They seem to know how to cut Asian-style men's hair...something that all those garbage franchise hair places like Supercuts absolutely suck at. Seriously! I don't even ask for much - 7 on top and 1 on the sides. And since my head is slightly lower in the front, I need my front a little longer to maintain an even level... Since I work and live in Irvine after graduating down there, I've had difficulty finding a place that is consistent. One time it might be OK, and the next time, I would have to correct them step by step just to get out of there with a salvageable look. It pisses me off and makes getting a haircut that much more of a nuisance. So I have to make due with shoddy haircuts until I visit home and come here. I always get a haircut here whenever I'm in town so I can at least look fresh for the two weeks after. Plus, my hair seems to grow out a bit less messy after I cut here but I may be incredibly biased. Anyhow, 5 stars for the cut and consistency as well as the decent prices! I stopped into this place yesterday with my buddy who needed a haircut. This place has been around for years and years. I believe it's changed owners a ton of times over the years. The place still stays pretty busy which is a good sign. Pricing seems fair, around $15 for a guys haircut. They give you a slight discount if you pay cash instead of debit/credit card lol. read more

The prices here are good but you get what you pay for. Every time I come here I find a bunch of hair in my shoes and all over my face. They don't do much to clean you up after they are done cuttin you up. I also asked the lady cutting my hair to do my side burns but she didn't. I had to go home n get my razor n do it myself. that was annoying. If I wanted to do my own hair I wouldn't have come to this shop. The first time I came here I thought the lady cut my hair pretty good until I got home. I looked in the mirror n she made my head look lopsided. She made my hair tilt to the left n in order for it to look straight I had to tilt my head to the right a little bit. Good prices yet not so good of a hair cut. It's says barber but it's a cheap Asian hair cut place. The last that cut my hair rushed it with no other people waiting & no other customers in store. She cut it faster than any haircut I've had in many years. You can imagine the results. I used to live in the area, and would come whenever I needed a hair trim. I have waist-long, straight black hair, and I like going here because all I need is a few inches of my dead-ends cut-off. I don't need the extra shampoos and fancy hair products. I just need something quick, and I'm off to do my other errands. I've moved away from the area, but I still come back to get my hair, and my daughter's hair trimmed because it's low-maintenance and affordable. I just don't see how this place is any different from those $8 haircut place. My usual spot is closed down today for an emergency renovation and I really needed a haircut. They are good at what they do, which is senior haircut. The simple clip here and there on the side and back. Forget the smooth fading or razor line. This is not the place for it. I can also use a comb as a guide for a fade, but I'm not charging people for it. $10 at best for the cut, and my two cents as tip. read more
