When we entered the restaurant we were not greeted by anyone. It was confusing on what to do. A patron then said "seat yourself'. We found a table and waited a while before we had to flag someone down and ask about menus. The food was done in a decent amount of time, however the wings that we ordered were extremely dry. They never came to check on us and we had to go up to the bar to ask for refill of drinks. The person who served us was decent but the other staff there were rude. Great neighborhood restaurant, off the beaten path. Very casual, plenty of TVs to watch the games. All three of us had the steak tips which were as good as the reviews say. The regular fries were also done perfectly (on the crispy side!). You get a ton of food for what you pay for, so you may end up with plenty of leftovers. Volo hosts cornhole here upstairs. Staff are nice, upstairs is a big space for events but does have a chandelier in the middle causing an issue for Cornhole....if ordering a pint, we've had the wrong beer (or bad beer?) served, so I'd stick with cans. Went on a Saturday around 6pm. Seat yourself and plenty of tables to chose from. Restaurant is dimly lit inside. Waitress was nice, service was slow. Had the steak tip and pork tip combo. Others at the table had a pepperoni pizza, Turkey club, and the scallop special. Tips combo was ok, enjoyed the steak more than the pork, portion size was good as well. Pizza was decent, about a 16 inch pie, thin crust, ample cheese and pepperoni. No complaints about the Turkey club. The scallops were delicious, good sized, fried perfectly and a good sized serving. The only complaint is that the beer served was stale, or the tap lines need cleaning. Coors tasted sour, and Boston Lager tasted very yeasty. Definitely not a fan of either taste. Came here for a baby shower. First off, the parking situation is a pain. The entrance/exit of the parking lot is narrow so only 1 can can go through at a time. It was painful to park inside the lot (although I was able to finally get a spot...after letting 3 cars leave). The place looks like a dive bar, but then they do have an upstairs area that can be used for private events (which is where the baby shower was). They have a separate smaller bar upstairs with a dedicated bartender. Wish the beer choices were better. However, the prices for cocktails were reasonable. The food was okay (assuming the food was catered here...). Similar to downstairs, the lighting upstairs was dark, except for the 1 window where natural light shone through. It was also a bit creepy where they had a portrait of a lady (one of the restaurant's founders?) on the wall. While leaving, i noticed the patrons' food dishes on the 1st floor, and i have to admit that the food looks appetizing. read more

They had the bruins game on the big screen, keno, very reasonably priced drinks with a healthy pour, and were very welcoming to kids. Food is great. Service is 5/10. It's not the people that work there fault, the owners just don't care enough. They suck. They need to hire a Manager for the bar to run things, very unorganized even for a dive bar. You should know what to expect coming here as in a hit or miss. Could be completely dead, could be 20 little kids running around swinging pool sticks. Was there last night with some friends and sadly we ended up leaving because I couldn't take it any longer. Our waitress was eating at the table beside us, on her phone the entire time, and left for about 7 smoke breaks in the hour we were there. Excellent local bar and grill. Food was so good. Hot and fresh. The menu has a lot to choose from. They have specials also, and when they're gone, they're gone. Last night was fresh scallops. I didn't get them, but saw them and they were amazing looking. Daughter had the appetizer of mozzarella sticks, potato skins and chicken fingers. All were hot and delicious. The potato skins are huge and plump full of goodies. The mozzarella sticks were the gooey -ness you expect from a hot well fried morsel. I opted for the burger. 1/2 lb of medium cooked beef done to perfection with all the trimmings on top. It was huge, and felt like I had to unhinge my jaw to take a bite. It comes with either waffle fries or steak fries. Opted for steak fries... that was a tough decision. The whole meal was piping hot any the fries were that crisp crunchy outside with a hot soft inside. I could not finish it. They have a pretty good beer selection on tap and allowed me to try anything I asked for. What more could I ask for. Great food and great beer. Don't go expecting super quick service. If you are looking for a genuine local South Boston experience you won't be disappointed. We sat at the bar and Kristen was our bartender. All of the guests at the bar seemed to really enjoy her. She was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good for bar food and very affordable. There was a full bar and a good beer and wine selection. We went on a Sunday at 6pm and they were busy both with people at the bar and families at the tables. My husband had the scallops and he loved them. The food is always great and the Steak Tip Greek Salad is one of the best things I have ever tasted. I actually had a discussion with my girlfriend on the rating for Seapoint, and it's more of a 3.5 spot, but the friendliness of the staff rounds it up to a 4-star review. They have cheap drinks for the area and a full bar. The downstairs has plenty of tables and seats and a 10 person bar. They have Keno, pool tables, golden tee and big buck hunter. I think they do Trivia on Thursday's and once a month for a while they were doing comedy. The food is good, and the service is awesome. Very friendly and moderately priced. The pizza and potato skins are delicious. We came with a table of 8 and everyone had their orders in a good amount of time. Cheeseburger clubs and pizzas seemed to be the go-to's. Ask for your pizza well done if you're going to have heavy toppings on it, it's cooked so there's no fold to the pizza when we go to grab a slice. read more

Comes with salad, too, and fresh bread. My nephew got the buffalo tenders, they looked good - they were "dry" i.e. not soggy/drenched in sauce. The 1 star i-want-funny-votes troll review from the guy from JP sounds like he wasn't even here and he just sampled stuff from other reviews and called it his own. He definitely sounds spiteful about something - maybe he *was* here and got smacked around for being a general d-bag. Dude - if you want faux fun and charm, maybe you can find a place somewhere else in "SoBo." I really like the Seapoint. Yes it is old school. Yes it is outdated. But that just adds to the character. (and you will find characters in there as well) I got the turkey tips and they were fantastic. Started coming here with friends for Thursday night trivia -- 8pm. There is usually a good crowd and the trivia host is great. Sometimes he talks about how much he hates Justin Bieber haha. It isn't technically Stump trivia but the rounds/points are setup the same as Stump. There is a parking lot but it usually fills up pretty quickly for trivia, so unless you get there early, plan on parking on the street. Prices are super affordable. I was surprised by how good the food was considering it is a random neighborhood bar. Pizza is large and usually awesome -- a few times it has been too greasy. Chicken parm sub is wonderful and comes with fries. Waffle fries or regular type! A lot of times they have deals going on certain types of beer or pitchers, so definitely ask your waitress. read more

Avoid at all costs! We just left there - a party of 7 for lunch. Arrived at 11:30, ordered your average lunch fare -- it took over TWO HOURS for all of us to receive our orders. Orders came out randomly in dribs and drabs -- no explanations from the staff -- not even apologies until 90 minutes in when we were asking for our remaining orders. People who had arrived long after us were being served well before some of our meals arrived. The food was good . . . when we received it . . . but not worth the wait.
