The things I loved about SQB! The customer service from your first step in to your last step out. You can tell from their employees that they actually love working here. That adds a certain depth of service. I loved the drinks I had two the drink with the lemon ginger and I think strawberries was strong and delicious also I grabbed the carrot cake Martini and I'm not a Martini guy but I did enjoy it. The cheese breed I loved it, but to me it's a little counter productive to give someone one cheesy bread and refrigerated marinara sauce. It's not cocktail sauce warm that sucker up. The pumpkin cheesecake and ny style cheesecake were both good and enjoyable not sure if they are made in house. The grilled fish on the bed of rice with sautéed cherry tomatoes and drizzle of balsamic was a good attempt but the fish not being seasoned left it feeling lack luster. The tomatoes were good if ur a tomato person. Just had to add salt pepper and hot sauce but overall the dish was a C plus. I'd just tweak the seasoning a little bit. Food was great. Service was poignant. Our waitress was kind, and on top of things on a busy holiday weekend dinner. While busy we could have a conversation at our table, lighting was not too bright and not loud music but background music existed. We got calamari, was enough to share for 4 of us. Caesar salad with blackened shrimp was delicious and very large, shared with others. Pulled pork was on point. Clam chowder was devoured by kids. I don't eat there as much anymore but they were always our go to for birthdays. Their food is great, service is great, great location, but their to-go orders can be improved. The boxes they put the food in sweat, so your bread on your burger gets wet, fries become soggy, and etc. Prices are average for a place like this. I would say try it. You will likely love it. Outdoor seating so you can bring your dog. Side note: there is a dog park across the street so you can let your f Dog run then go over and enjoy lunch with your pup. read more

Service is really nice, food is nothing special. Sweet potatoes fries were good. Birria ramen does not have ramen noodles, it's some type of egg noodle that is flavorless and very mushy when eaten. I know the dish is a mix of Japanese and Mexican but felt like a white washed version with the mushy noddles. I suggest that the restaurant starts using actual/traditional ramen noddles that are chewy. Drink prices are good. read more

During a two night stay in Crescent City, we visited SeaQuake Brewing twice! Loved it!! First visit was lunch, just got into town and found this place had available tables right away. Service is so good here, personable and effective. Husband tried a Mexican lager on one visit, a coke on another. His cup was alway full. I ordered a cider flight and was so excited to try such a great variety of drafts. Alicia wrote down all the names in order so I knew what each cider was called. I really enjoyed the less sweet Gravenstein, but not so fond of the Passion Fruit. Meanwhile, the honey cherry Swipe Right was delicious. Then the Blurberry, wow at first sip I thought it was too sour like red wine, or too strong like port, but loved it the more I drank. On my second visit, I got a pint of each! My lunch was a lettuce wrapped Redwood burger with a side of sweet potato fries and ranch to dip. It was perfect, if simple. Their ranch dressing was really excellent, and our server made sure I had enough to go home with my leftover fries. My husband ordered a big blackened shrimp Caesar salad, which he enjoyed but I got to take home some of the shrimp because there were so many! On our second visit, I tried the fish tacos and salad instead of fries. They were happy to accommodate me with corn tortillas and grilled fish instead of battered and fried. They were good tacos, but I truly couldn't finish them and the ENORMOUS side salad. The dijon vinaigrette was unmemorable. Husband ordered a smash burger this time, and although he had them hold the special sauce which i love, he said it was great. The blue cheese dressing that came with the side salad was the excellent homemade ranch dressing again, this time with a huge handful of fresh crumbled blue cheese on top. Be still my heart! We liked this place so much during our trip to Crescent City that we went twice . Both of our servers were great, we tried a bunch of the beers. The only downside is that we did not get to sit inside. It was so busy both nights that we had to sit on the patio both nights. But the heaters kept me warm enough, so I didn't have a complaints. read more

My girlfriend and I came here on April 4th after visiting the Redwoods for my birthday weekend. The hostesses were great -- friendly, welcoming, and able to seat us even though it was very busy. I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, our experience with our waitress completely changed the tone. From the start, her demeanor toward us was noticeably cold and sharp. I understand being busy, so I didn't think much of it at first. However, we were barely checked on, and multiple times I noticed her standing nearby with another waitress, looking over at us and snickering. That alone left a bad impression. The inconsistency in service stood out even more -- a table seated right in front of us ordered the same meals and received their food in about 5 minutes, while ours took around 20. When my food arrived (lemon chicken with angel hair pasta), I was only given a fork -- no knife or anything else. I don't like to jump to conclusions, but it's hard to ignore when you're the only person of color in the room and notice a clear difference in how you're treated compared to others. While she was warm and attentive with surrounding tables, her attitude toward us felt noticeably different. Because of that experience, I won't be returning. I think it's fair for others to be aware of the atmosphere we encountered. read more

We were staying in crescent city and found this place that was kid friendly. There was Plenty of parking. As well as Outdoor and indoor seating.. We were warmly greeted and had about a 45 minute way for 11 people. They were pretty busy. But once we were seated our waiter was amazing ! He was so attentive, kind and helpful. He was very patient with us and provided great suggestions. The food was amazing ! We ordered the garlic and cheddar cheese curds and those came out crispy, gooey and piping hot. The kids loved their kids meal options. The Thai chicken salad was a generous portion full of bright. Flavors and crunchy textures. The fish and chips and fish tacos were good and the burgers were huge. The beer selections were good. And We loved their pineapple kombucha. We loved the vibe of the place and the amazing service! I was so delighted to be able to let my dogs enjoy being with me on the outside patio. The waitress brought over a heat tower, which made it an extremely comfortable temperature. Jen was my waitress and she was phenomenal. Very attentive, extremely patient with me trying to make a decision, offered her helpful suggestion to order the Smash Burger, her favorite. I upgraded to the side salad with my burger, and it did not disappoint. Quite a nice salad for the extra charge. The burger was amazing. I never felt rushed and Jen even brought my dogs a little water bowl. It was actually quite cute how every time a new dog joined the patio all the dogs that were already there started barking, and then they all calmed down again after the welcome group bark. read more

We have been going to Seaquake regularly since it first opened and generally it's been pretty good. The beer on tap is very good and the staff is very friendly. There are some items in the menu that are pretty darn good like the calamari and the pizzas are pretty decent. My concern is it seems the quality of the food has dropped. They used to have some specials that were really good that aren't featured any more and frankly the menu has become rather boring and somewhat mediocre. They used to have cookies that were great-soft, chewy and very tasty. The last few times we tried them they were very dry and underwhelming. There really aren't a lot of menu items that wow you but in fairness it is a small town brew pub and for that they're pretty good. Maybe it's buyer's fatigue or maybe it's the fact that there really aren't any good alternatives in Crescent City. Brookings has better choices in dining but we don't always want to drive a half hour each way to eat there. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Like I said it's a decent brew pub and maybe we need to be satisfied with that read more
