The low reviews here are true. This location is AWFUL. Nasty customer service by the people in the front who yell and snap at you the customer and don't provide solutions. I had a Sears Auto Center coupon that specifically said it expires 12/31/2018. That's 9 months in the future. They couldn't get it to work. And these two winners became nasty. Then, I also had the Sears Auto Center frequent oil change rewards card. These two people insisted they had never seen that before, questioned me on where did I get this, etc (I got it right here in October). These two people were as nasty as they could be. I said enough with this and walked out. I called the Marley Station Sears Auto Center and asked the guy on the phone about the frequent Oil Change card and if they still accepted it, and he immediately responded back YES. So what is up with the Clown Show at Annapolis Sears Auto Center? If you like dealing with Nasty Women and Mean Men who treat customers like trash, this is the place for you. Was going to buy tires here, but they were incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. Now am going to the dealership.

Wow, it has been 20 years since I went to Sears Automotive at Montgomery Mall, Bethesda, MD, one day to buy new tires and ended up with a new battery!!! Even though I had *JUST PURCHASED ONE* from my trusted mechanic, it was "dead as a doornail" per the Sears "mechanic." There was not a doubt in my head that he had killed my battery either on purpose (quota or otherwise) or by mistake (left lights on all night?). I was angry enough that I had to leave it overnight, as I was told when I called they could have it done in an hour or less. Of course, I never set foot in there again. I need tires now, so I thought, "Let me check the reviews for Sears. Maybe it was an isolated incident." Don't think for a minute that I have anywhere near full trust for reviews, but some of these sound SO much like what I experienced 20 years ago, they just can't all be fake or a coincidence. NO SEARS AUTOMOTIVE FOR ME. This place needs to be shut down. read more

My long dying car battery finally expired while I was in the Annapolis Westfield Mall parking lot. I ran across the parking lot to Sears Auto and hoped that they could help me even though it was 15 minutes past their posted closing time. Dave H., the employee at the front desk, immediately agreed to give me a jump. I decided that it was best to replace the battery altogether. After I purchased a new battery the purchase, Dave was happy to lug it over to my car around the corner. He installed the battery very quickly and refused to take any tip for going the extra effort involved. Dave and Sears Auto really saved me this evening. Much appreciated. read more

Spend the extra few dollars and go to a real mechanic. I had a 4 o'clock appointment and dropped my car off at 4. I checked in with the service rep and gave him my keys. And told me it will be 45 minutes for my wheel alignment. I left and waited in the mall and came back 45 minutes later. My car was still in the same spot. They hadn't touched it and there were no other cars they were working on. I told them to give me my keys and I left. They didn't even care. read more

This experience was at the Annapolis auto Center 1040 Annapolis Mall. I called Friday afternoon 2pm on 1/11/19 about my car stalling, not starting again until waiting approx 30-40 minutes, and then the check engine light came on several days after the problem started. I asked if I could drop my car off after work to be worked on Saturday. I was told they could run a diagnostic test and work on it Saturday. When I dropped off the car Friday night the person I spoke to, I did not know his name, he had a foreign accent, did not schedule my appointment. Someone took care of me when I got there and was able to still schedule me for Sat A.M. The next day I did not hear anything so I called and was told the person who was to work on my car called in sick. They ran the diagnostic, it had 11 errors but they did not have anyone there who could interpret all the codes. They did not call me and let me know that NO ONE was working on my car. That should have been a red flag but since they did not charge me for the diagnostic test I scheduled another appointment Wednesday when I had a day off and could drop my car off on the way home from work. When I dropped it off and was explaining my problem with the mechanic and mentioned I had scheduled an appointment the previous Saturday he informed me he was the mechanic that would be working on my car and he doesn't work Saturday, so he couldn't believe they would have scheduled me for then. So apparently in his mind it didn't really happen. That was my second chance to not lt them work on my car but since it wouldn't start until it cooled down (40 minutes or so- one of my problems) I left when he told me he would work on it first thing in the morning. When I did not here anything I called around 12:30 and was told he was working on it and he would call back in about an hour with what the problem was and recommendations for repair. He finally called me around 3 pm to ask me more about the problems I was experiencing. he said it ran well when he drove and didn't stall but once he turned it off, it would not start right back up. At that point he wasn't sure of the connecting to the check engine light but would call me back after he checked a couple more things. I heard nothing the rest of the day and walked down to the Auto Center and got there 15 minutes before they closed at 7pm. The mechanic had left and left no instructions on the status of my car. i wanted to take it but the person I was speaking with didn't want me to because he didn't know where the mechanic left off in his work. I reminded him now with a clearly irritated voice that I was never told what he was doing to approve any repairs, so nothing should have been started. I know that they were not over worked for the day because there was only 1 car in the shop the night before and a gentleman who was waiting for his car stated he was called to drop off his car a day early because of the light work load. I finally convinced the gentleman now working on me I wanted my car now and would pay for diagnostic, but I was taking my car. He agreed since the other customer was clearly questioning his choice to use Sears for his car. I was not charged again. Makes me wonder if they ever did the diagnostic test at all. read more

Awful service. Bougfht tires here and they took forever to put them on. a week later i notice one tire going flat. Brougght it back and was told that whoever had put them on had forgotten to take an internal label off and that label was causing leakage. 4 hours later, i got my car back. I don't want to go back for their "free" rotatio and service. They are terrible!! Big regrets on trying to save a few bucks by buying through them. read more

I have been going here for years and I have always had great service. The staff are very personal and treat me with the up most respect. Great at explaining the good and bad with your vehicle and I trust their recommendations. The mechanic Devin is great and he does excellent work. I give sears 5 stars every time. Don't take your car any where else!! read more

How this place is still in business, i will never know. Had I only read the reviews posted here, I could have saved myself much time, money and headaches which I am still dealing with after over a year. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! This is Store 2692 at 1040 Annapolis Mall, Annapolis, Maryland,21401. I have been a Sears customer since 2005 and NEVER I repeat NEVER have I received the type of treatment I experienced on April 19, 2017 from this shop and staff. My checkin was at 11:00 am. I purchased tires for my 2005 Cadillac STS online and when checking in was informed there was no alignment listed and that it would be required. When discussing the female staff member got really upset with me when I told her it was not included and I didn't want it. So as not to cause a scene I agreed to include it to get the process started on my car. After being in the store for 2 hours I noticed some confusion in the bay area where my car was. Two Technicians had my car on the lift where alignments were done and there appeared to be a problem with my car but no one attempted to alert me to any problems although I could see that something was wrong. I waited another 10 minutes and asked the staff to find out what was going on with my car and they couldn't find the Technician anymore who had suddenly disappeared. For 10 minutes they scurried in and out of the bay area in confusion then two staff members came in and gave me 2 different reasons for the delay and said they were not able to do the alignment because there was a problem with my tire rods. After conversing with them and trying to figure out how they could install tires and not damage my tire rods/lock nuts they just left me standing there and I suddenly realized they had parked my car in the front of the store and told me I could come back after I had the alignment done on my car somewhere else. How unprofessional!. No wonder Sears is losing business and is going out of business! I left and requested a call from the store manager. After waiting 2 days I called again and finally got the manager who was very rude to me in explaining that there was no liability to the store and he had 45 years experience and knew what he was talking about. The manager was very rude and tried to force me to come into the shop repeatedly after I informed him I was not able to because of an injury. He told me nothing would be resolved until I brought my paperwork/invoice into the shop so he could see it. The invoice was already in the system and he was aware of my issue. I have never been harassed like this before in my life. I refuse to frequent a business that allows its management to handle issues in this manner. I in turn wrote a letter to Sears Corporate Office with no contact and no cooperation from the office for 3 months. I had to take my car in to another shop and incurred a $700 bill to repair the damage incurred at this shop. If the Corporate office does not care how its management handles customers then why should we continue to frequent their shops. I will NEVER shop at Sears again and will be cutting up my card because no customer deserves this type of service. Stay away ! No one deserves this type of horrible customer service. read more

Horrible "service" two weekends in a row (because I had to return so they could fix what they had done the previous weekend). Had front end alignment and four new tires. Both times, the same customer service rep kept trying to suggest I had been "rooked" by the previous owner, that somehow the problems were my fault (I wasn't driving correctly!). After I left the first time, my car still pulled to the right and I STILL had a front end vibration!!! This after spending 5 hours there. Second time, same cust service rep suggested I wasn't holding my steering wheel straight (!) and that's why, when I let go, the wheel went to the right. Told me the car had probably been in an accident (what? NO!) I told him the CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT still and needed to be looked at. The same mechanic re aligned the car and rebalanced the tires and now it is fine. That customer service rep needs to be fired. Hate this place. read more

I bought a set of 4 tires from them Jun 2010. I went to the Sears in Bowie first, but was told they didn't have the key that removes wheel locks (that came standard on my car). They called Annapolis who said they had one so I went there. Took a few hours to get the tires installed, seemed to be no issue except slow service. Two weeks later noticed all 4 tires were missing a lug nut so called back there and was told 'oh we had to break the wheel locks off and once you do that they aren't reusable'. Very annoyed that they were sneaky in not telling me they had an issue while working on my car, BROKE something, didn't replace them and did not say one word to me about it and let me drive off with wheels not properly attached to my car-- not exactly safe. Went back a year later to have them rotated and balanced (it was a free part of buying tires from them). Long waits in line, many times no employees in the area up front to help customers, lost keys etc. I was told my alignment was out and asked if I wanted to have it fixed now-- did a service not requested or written on the ticket at the time I dropped it off. Answered no I just need my car back. When they drove it around to the front from the shop, my jaw literally hit the ground as I had along with freshly rotated tires, a fresh scrape of white paint and a large dent up the entire side of the drivers' side door. When I asked the man driving the car what happened to it, he said 'oh that was there before'. Not true and it's not very nice to have someone lie straight to your face. It's not the issue that the dent was there, not a good thing but I am a reasonable person and understand accidents happen. The issue is the dishonesty that this shop proves to me time and time again by not being honest with customers about things that have happened with their vehicles. I wonder how long it will take before their dishonesty and negligence causes an accident and perhaps someone is injured or worse. Would not recommend to even my worst enemy! read more
