Before noon, Mary Smith in Sears chat told me tech had completed and left his last job and was enroute to me. He never arrived. At 1:30 Zack Wright in chat told me tech's last job had turned into a major repair (so he hadn/t completed and wasn/t enroute) but he would be here momentarily or before 3. He promised to have tech call me with progress report. Later he promised that tech would be here by "end of today." No call; no serviceman. At 4:00, I cancelled. Wish I had read Yelp reviews first to see all the "worst service ever" reviews. I will use Yelp to book a reputable and dependable service outfit for my oven repair. I don't want to even give them 1 star, but apparently that is the minimum rating. read more

Trying to get them to come back out to fix microwave & oven , both out now for three weeks waiting on part & techs , just got crazy, seems you can't talk to anyone that works in Bakersfield or California. The online communication explaining the cost structure and the informing me of his arrival was clear and helpful. Our technician explained the repair, fixed, and tested the washer within an hour. Called on a Monday and got a Friday appoint between 1-5pm and the repair person never showed up and when I called in to check status, I was told he was delayed and will show up by 7pm!!! I have been a happy Sears customer for 40 plus years. They really screwed up on this one. Quoted me one price and charged me a higher price. I made 3 phone calls to the number I was given and the only way they could help me was to give me a gift card for Sears for the amount I was overcharged. I went to the local store to talk to someone in person. The manager could only send my information to "Corporate" and assured me someone would get back to me within 24 hours. This review is for Sears Home Warranty. We had a horrible experience and are in the process of trying to cancel our policy. We had our AC go out in 105 weather. Sears finally got in touch with an AC company who came out. It seemed to take them forever to figure out what was going on. It got fixed and then went out a week later. We tried to contact Sears and got referred back to the same AC company who didn't return our calls. We finally called someone who was recommended by a friend. All the Freon had leaked out. The breaker was shot and the capacitor needed to be replaced. Signing up for the Sears Home Warranty has been a very expensive mistake. 3 nights in a hotel because the house was 90 degrees. Plus the $70 per month we have been paying and the $100 service fee charged by the first company that came out. read more

In the process of fixing my refrigerator icemaker, the repairman damaged my fridge leaving me without a fridge until the part came in 10 days during the Christmas holiday. They have been rude and unremorseful about the inconvenience and hardship they have caused me. I can't trust my fridge anymore because I believe the damage has permanently ruined my fridge. Don't buy from Sears and defiantly don't have them fix your appliances. I am very disappointed and angry beyond belief. read more

Very disatifed with Sears home repair. Took them a week to come out. For the mother board and sensor went out on my 3 year old 4 door Samsung flex refrigerator. Took them two weeks to come out and fix the parts. To break my ice maker and ground cord to the wall. And we lost food when it broke and when they fixed it. This was easily the worst experience of my life with a company. Our fridge went out Dec. 18 and is under warranty. Someone was dispatched the 23rd was here for 3 minutes tops (zero exaggeration) said the compressor was bad. I was told a week with the holiday. I called Sears to get updated after waiting on hold for 2 hours and was told to call the contractor they should provide the updates. After calling every day at least once a day for 11 days leaving voicemails every time with no call back or answer, all while calling Sears waiting on hold for hours and hours being told "I'm escalating this", "did you fill out the food loss paperwork?", "I'm escalating this again", "someone will be calling you back", "you will receive response from email", "I'll call you back personally". I never got a word in response resolving my issue. I called again to get a refund for the $400 extended warranty we purchased... with no surprise, no response whatsoever. I ended up having to pay for this repair and use a different company to fix this issue on 1-25. I made a claim through the BBB regarding this as well. Sears thanks for taking $400 as well as whatever the expensive fridge costs and offering ZERO useful support other than lip service. I hope no one else has to deal with this nightmare. read more

We had the worst experience with this repair center. First, our home warranty sent them out to fix our freezer. The fix didn't work so they were contacted by the home warranty and an appointment was set up. We were given a window of time and we requested the latest appointment. Sears said it is their policy to call when they are en route. They called, we couldn't meet them so had to reschedule. That was our fault. The day of the new appointment, we were within 15 minutes of our home so we could be available but instead the repairman, Noe, showed up without calling! We saw him on our camera so immediately called. He said he was on his way home and would not wait. He tried talking his way around the issue but bottom line is he wouldn't wait and we are out of luck. My husband said goodbye and hung up. Noe then returned my call and was angry and said my husband hung up on him. He reiterated the business of him going home. Mind you, this was at 2:19 p.m. My husband called Sears immediately, and they assured him we would be put back on the dispatch list and someone would come out that same day. After 5 p.m. nobody had arrived so we called and spoke to Mary. Mary said we were not on the dispatch list and we needed to call our home warranty for a new authorization. Mary said they had no record of the call to them earlier, only the information from Noe closing the ticket and saying my husband hung up on him. She then contradicted herself when I asked who my husband spoke to earlier because I wanted to file a complaint. She said they aren't allowed to give out names even though she had just given me her name. She advised we had to call our home warranty out again because the ticket was closed. I asked how they can close a ticket they didn't fix? She didn't have an answer. I said I'd file a complaint and good bye. She didn't reply to me so I waited for her to hang up. All should be recorded! Bottom line, they didn't fix the freezer the first time. Then they didn't follow the protocol established by their own business to call when they were on their way. Then Noe's ego got hurt when he was told good bye so he closed the ticket. They don't stand by their word and they didn't even fix the issue. We found a new company! read more

Had to wait a little over a week to have someone come out for my refrigerator which stopped operating possibly due to the holidays. However when my technician came to my home the wait was worth it - he was knowledgeable & efficient. He was able to determine within a few minutes of looking at the appliance exactly which part had failed (he showed it to me & it was completely fried inside). He replaced it in a timely fashion and answered all of my inquiries in a professional manner. A very positive experience overall - I would recommend him highly. read more

We just had our 7 year old dryer serviced thru Sears Appliance repair. I was very happy that even though I made the appointment online for service the next day, they were able to accommodate us because as anyone who's had a washer or dryer out of service knows, its quite inconvenient. I had guessed it was the ignition that was bad but it turned out it was the thermostat. Our tech had it fixed in less than an hour as he had the part on his truck. If you use the app to book, your appointment, try to have the model number of your appliance and your best guess whats wrong with it ready to type. This helps the tech prep his truck for your repair. Our repair including the service trip fee was 197.00. He gave us half off because we purchased the appliance warranty service which at 49.00 a month is a bargain. Yes with the warranty, you will still pay a service call fee, but your parts for the most part are covered unless it is something extraordinary to fix. I will use this service again! read more

We have a new sears washing machine at our vacation home that the main board failed in. Technician came under warranty and service contract but didn't didn't have part and ordered for delivery to our main home for us to bring to vacation home next time for installation, which never arrived. We arranged service for the next time we arrived and confirmed and re-affirmed in follow up calls that part would come with technician. When service called on appointment day, they had no part and did not come. Sears service then did run-around through multiple service supervisors for over 2 hours as they could not reach service rep, so we con-called the rep into service supervisor (why we could and sears couldn't I don't know) to arrange a solution....we now have another round of shipping part but there is no method for expedited service so we will await next time in vacation home. UNBELIEVABLE! This is not service and is not worth the paper it is written upon. I hadn't had any bad experiences with sears until this month. My refrigerator started failing on the 5th of December. I called sears they sent a tech a couple of days later by now everything had spoiled. They said the parts should be in by the end of the month. They scheduled me for the 27th of December. On the 26th I got a call to reschedule because all the parts weren't here yet. The operator I spoke with said she would schedule me for the 3rd of January. But if I received the rest of the parts to call to schedule a sooner appointment. I just received the last part today the 28th of December. The operator I spoke to now said there was no one available until the 3rd. So I have been without a refrigerator for about a month now. I've been spending a lot of money having to eat out with my family. You would think that they know a refrigerator is an everyday necessity. It's not like a washer that breaks down. So you go to the laundry mat to wash your clothes. You would think that after knowing that they were going to make me wait a full month to fix my refrigerator they would just replace it. I'm sure I've already spent more than what I paid for their warranty on food for my family and we still have to wait another week. Why sell a warranty that only benefits you(sears) if you aren't going to fix or replace the item when it really needs to be fixed. read more

"Sears Protection Agreement", I purchased the five year plan for two appliances bought at my Hometown Sears. The plan cost almost half as much as the price paid for the appliances. They send out contracted local appliance co. for 'Preventative Maintenance' check up. Good service. Now getting to Sears Appliance repair when the consumer needs a repair is a whole different experience. Scheduling is outsourced overseas. Bad service. I waited three separate times and the first two times they called and cancelled two hours into my wait time. The third time no one even called but called a week later and left a message that the service tech. was on the way. A MONTH LATER tech for the area finally did show and told us that the part of the appliance is not broken but just wearing out, after one year. I am tired of Sears salesman and repair techs. telling me that "they don't make them as they used to", as I was told by this tech again. read more

I purchased a craftsman 3/4hp garage door opener and installed it myself. My last craftsman garage door opener lasted bout 30 years so I thought I was gunna get the same results. After I installed it has gave me nothing but problems for the last three months. After programing it it works for about a week then it don't want to close or stay program on the start and stops I set up. The technicians on the help line for sears are no help (about 15-20 times) You can tell the techs on phone are reading program directions and not very patience. I have had my wife and 23 year old son that is very knowledgeable have them program it with the help of sears help line. I called to have a technician and the earliest he could come out was Nov. 23. 2016. He came out and put new sensors in and was ok for week that same thing happened wont stay programed. this is a very inconvenience to my family. This is very frustrating after spending about 230.00 on garage opener and 167.00 for technician on Nov. 23 2016. when I called to have tech come out on 23 they told me there would be no charge for call out (wrong). So I scheduled another call out for Dec. 7th. which never happened. Sears sent me email to reschedule cause tech call out from work. So I was thinking they would come out the next day WRONG again next week tech could come out. The tech that did come out on the 23 was very knowledgeable and friendly. The way this is going my warranty will run out before it gets resolved. I wish I could just get my money back. Must be a faulty product. read more
