It took about a week for an appointment to fix a refrigerator. The time given when they arrive is 9 to 5. It's the whole day wasted not a 3 hour window. The service person was nice and knowledgeable. He did not have the part needed to fix the unit.(not his fault) After not having the relay which I was told is the part that breaks very often. Their parts department did not have it either. . He told me it would be $387 to install the part once they get it. I saw him remove the part. He just pulled it out like a plug. I was disappointed that he could not fix it. I decided to call a parts distributor. They had the part in stock. I ordered it and it was delivered to me the next day. The part distributor said it's really easy to install so instead of calling Sears back to install it I looked and did it myself.(avoid another service call plus installation fee of $387.) It took 5 minutes. Popped the part in and it worked. To think they would charge $387 to plug in the relay is obscene. And not having a basic part available was disappointing. The technician was fine but the company disappointed me. I have used them many times over the years but this time was a joke. I paid for the service call plus a fuel surcharge. If they had the part they would have charged $387 just to plug the part in. If they had to do some work with wires and technical stuff I get it. But to plug something in... That's crazy. But since most people don't know about refrigerators they get taken. The price I paid for the relay was much less then what they charge for the part. Guess I am glad they did not have the part. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the quality of service that is being provided. For the pat 2 months I've been calling sears because my refrigerator stopped working. (I have a warranty with them) unfortunately their technicians fail to show to every appointment that they have scheduled. I'm beginning to think it's a game that they play with their customers. It's really disgusting that they would treat people this way. I am extremely angry and aggravated because I have wasted hours every week contacting them only to be assured that someone will show. (I am still waiting) I truly wish they get what they deserve. This is terrible! Don't waste your money, you're better saving it for when your appliances stop working. This service company is probably the worst. They make you wait a week to give you horrible service and send out the wrong service guy for the job. I had to wait an additional 3 days for the correct service man to come for my laundry washing machine. 1. He didn't fix the issue. 2. (I was not home while service was being done) He didn't bring his own towels etc. So, HE DECIDED TO USE MY DAUGHTERS FROZEN $35 TOWEL TO WIPE OF CHEMICALS AND DIRT FROM UNDERNEATH LAUNDRY MACHINE. 3. He told me he ran machine to make sure it and that was a lie because he didn't even connect the hoses. 4. I arrived home to see all connections on the floor with dirty water drops from living room through to the kitchen. Including a new roll of paper towels with dirty chemical water all over it. (Threw it away) 5. I called to complain and was promised someone to fix it the same day. (never happened) 6. Called the next morning and they told me I had to set up new appointment and wait 6 more days. I ended up calling another appliance company that came out in 15 minutes and fixed everything for me. It's a joke this Sears service company. Garbage. I filed a dispute with American Express because I wasn't paying for that shitty service at all. Our refrigerator stopped working Sunday evening. Got Sears on the phone Monday first thing in the morning. No appointment available until Thursday. Refrigerator is an appliance of necessity, it's not in the same category as a washer/dryer or a dishwasher. But ok, we took the appointment since it was their earliest. Appointment day: a tech was scheduled to come between 8am-12pm. Noon arrives and no signs of tech. I called and was told that the company (third party provider) had been calling the wrong number and cancelled the appointment when nobody answered. Service on the phone was abysmal, including a lady that giggle when she realized I had been on the phone for a couple of hours being sent from one place to the other, different "supervisors", etc. The warranty we have costs a little over $1K for several appliances. Absolutely not worth the money. We still have no refrigerator working and wasted an entire day trying to just reschedule an appointment with Sears Repair directly and not a service provider. Horrible experience. Stay away! We bought all of the appliances in our house including a large water heater from Sears when we moved in and we've used Sears Appliance Repair ever since. When our dryer stopped working a couple weeks ago we called Sears for service. Service tech came out and looked at the dryer for a while. Identified a blown thermal fuse. And quoted about $185 for the repair, which we authorized. He said he needed to "service" the dryer for an additional $170 or the fuse would just blow again. He did not give me any confidence at all that "Servicing" the dryer would solve the problem or even had anything at all to do with the problem. I declined. He told me if I declined the extra service that Sears would not stand behind the fuse repair. He made a very big deal out of it. The fuse blew out immediately after ONE load through the dryer. Since the technician told me repeatedly that Sears would not warranty the fuse repair and that Sears would not be able to help me if the fuse blew again I called a different repair company. The new service company immediately identified the issue as a crushed exhaust hose, corrected the problem, and replaced the fuse again. The dryer has been working fine ever since. The Sears tech totally blew the diagnosis. He was so focused on the hard up-sell on the extra service he missed the obvious true issue. I am very disgusted with such incompetent service. I have attempted at length to resolve this with Sears customer service and they have just blown me off. I also tried several times to call the local number listed on my invoice, but they never answer the phone and there is no opportunity to even leave a message. Beware! 1st , although the Sears site clearly states "I you wish to move forward with the repair, we will deduct the $89 diagnostic fee from the cost of the repair" (see screen shot), this is NOT true. They have it as a line item in the repair estimate and will NOT deduct it. 2nd - their technician, Oscar, lied about the extent of the necessary repair - after being in the kitchen alone for a bit, he showed me water in the bottom and said the Dish Washer was not draining. I knew that was untrue and told him to show me and when he pushed the button to drain the machine - it worked without problem. Oops, caught in a lie. 3rd - he actually attempted to cause MORE damage - he claimed that by emptying thru an old disposal, the DW wasnt draining, that I would need a whole new connection and then TRIED TO TWIST OFF AND REMOVE THE DISPOSAL which, of course, would have made it impossible to drain (except onto the floor). When you have to tell the technician not to cause unnecessary damage and expense, you have a problem. Oh and the repair esitmate was more than an entire new dishwasher. Since I trusted the Sears name without checking reviews, I felt like a sucker. read more

The plan was $155 The repair was $124. I called the office and was told I did not need the plan and they would refund me. Then my call was mysteriously disconnected. I called two more times and the phone was answered fairly quickly. However they then tell you that you must be transferred whereupon no one ever answers. First time on hold about 30 minutes. My dryer stopped drying so I called Sears home services to have it fixed because Sears is where I bought the dryer. I was given an appointment time between 2 PM and 6 PM today and I was told that I would be notified by phone when the driver was on his way. Never heard from him by phone; apparently he had sent me an email at 1:45 . I was still driving home and did not get an alert on my phone that an email had arrived so I didn't check my phone. As I'm pulling into my street a van passed me that said A&E on the side and I pulled into my driveway right after passing him. When I got to the front door I saw a note on my door saying that The technician had missed me and I had to call to reschedule my appointment and it was an A&E sticker. I was never informed by Sears that they subcontracted to anyone for the repair so I was expecting a Sears van to come here. I immediately called the number on the sticker to ask that the technician return to my house as it had been less than a minute since I passed him. I was informed that all they could do was send a request to him to see if he could come back; which I thought he was going to do as he was no more than a minute away from my house. I waited 30 minutes and I received no phone call from the technician, which is what the CSR advised me he would do. I then called back and was told the same thing, that all they could do was request that he come back and they put in another request. I never received that call so I called Sears home services themselves and I explained the situation. The lady that I spoke with gave the usual scripted response and apologize profusely and then she also said all she could do was send a request for the technician to return!! I voiced my displeasure with their service as the technician had only just left my house when the initial request was made and he didn't have the courtesy to call me back. Sadly, another appointment is not available until Monday the 29th which doesn't help me because I have a large family and for obvious reasons I need to be able to dry clothes after I wash them. As of this writing I still have not received a call from the technician, who has now been given three requests to call me after checking his schedule to see if he can come back here. As added frustration, he would've been here working on this thing for at least an hour so it is baffling why he didn't just return because he didn't have another appointment and was scheduled to be with me for however long it took to fix my dryer. Be wary of using this company. Moreover, ask if they use subcontractors so you don't accidentally pass the person coming to fix your appliances and don't even realize it. Here is a company that you should avoid. They sign you up for a service contract and then do not show up when they promise. We have an LG Refrigerator. A problem occurred and they had an appointment to determine what the problem was. The technician came and suggested that we sign up for a maintenance contract for our appliances. We agreed and he made an appointment for June 1. When we called them to let them know that the parts had arrived at our house from LG, we found out Sears on its own and without notice to us, cancelled our appointment and made it at a later date. When I told them we did not cancel this, they could not explain why our appointment was cancelled. They offered a date much later. We have now been without a working refrigerator for three weeks. If this is how they treat you when you sign up for the first service call, how will they help you later. Stay away. read more

Requested a washer repair. Technician arrived, and after some diagnostics, said that we a door lock issue, but he'd have to order parts and it'd take a week. Then, after some more tinkering, he said we had a circuit board issue which would cost $550 (when a brand new washer would have been $600). I asked if he was certain the circuit board was the issue, and he said no. We then asked if he'd tried just resetting the washer when he pulled it out, and he said no. He reset the washer, and the problem resolved itself. He charged us $89 anyways even though the service was terrible, and he wanted us to spend $550 instead on issues that were irrelevant to the problem. read more

My five month ice maker stopped working and they have been to my house four times and five techs have looked at my ice maker including a senior repair tech and have not fixed the problem, still not working. I just got off the phone with a supervisor and was told that a repair tech would need to come out eight or more times before they can replace the machine. Do not use this service. I have a service agreement and I have been waiting 4 weeks for them to fix my machine.

They canceled the appointments 4 times to go to my house, after 5 weeks of waiting they were two days in a row to check my washing machine. They determined that it was the water pump but it wasn't on stock and they had to order the part which took 15 days to arrive, but the next appointment available (after the part arrived) was 10 days after the part arrived. Since I call to make the first appointment all the process spent in total almost two months to repair my washer machine (kennmore) which was bought it only 3 years a go. The 3 visits of the technicians to my house were ok, each visit they made me sign an order for $ 100 (without charge for me because it was under warranty, but I guess someone paid that $ 300). But the whole process in general was horrible, I do not recommend it at all. In my decesperacion I bought another washing machine (also with Sears) and the delivery of the new washing machine also was postponed two times for two weeks, of course I canceled this order after the last delivery cancelation, and buy another washing machine in Bestbuy (by the way excellent service), the washing machine was repaired 2 weeks later I got the washer machine I bought from Best Buy Conclusion Horrible service and costumer experience Two months awaiting for the service Eigth phonecall For email exchange One new washer machine cancelation Two washer machine at home (a new one I bought in Best buy, and the Kenmore repaired two month later storage in my garage) I would not recommend using the services of sear service nor would I buy any other product or equipment there read more

If I could give Sears Home Services a "zero" star rating, I would. Please let the below be a warning to anyone else wanting to use Sears Home Services. I have a GE Hybrid water heater that needed repair and I called Sears Home Services to help me fix the problem. On October 13, 2017, I scheduled a technician to come to my house to assess the problem. This individual was not able to make a diagnosis and requested that I call Sears back to schedule someone else to come out to the house. I did just that, and on October 20, 2017, I had another Sears Home Services technician to come to my house and assess the problem. The technicians on this visit were able to diagnosis the problem, and told me that I needed a (1) new sensor flow part and (2) to schedule service to replace this part. I also paid a $79 diagnostic fee for this visit. I told the technicians that I would get the part directly from GE - since there is a 10 year warranty provided by GE that I was still covered under - and that I would schedule them to come back out once I received the part from GE. Once I received the part from GE, I scheduled a technician to come out on October 27, 2017 between 8a and 1p. No technician ever came, and once I realized that, I called Sears Home Services to find out why a technician didn't come out. I was then re-scheduled for the same day, between 1p and 7p. 7p came and went, and no technician from Sears Home Services arrived. I subsequently called Sears Home Services again and scheduled a technician to come to the house on November 11, 2017 between 8a and 1p. Yet again, I was stood up by Sears Home Services. In total, I scheduled Sears Home Services to come out to my house five times - two times for the initial assessment and three times for the repair. And each of the repair appointments required me to be at home for 5 to 6 hour windows. Today, I called Sears Home Services to yet again reschedule the repair for my water heater. I was elevated to "Customer Solutions" and was told that I would have to have someone come out to assess the problem and I would be required to pay another $79 assessment fee. I was told that - because I declined to order the part needed from Sears - I had declined the entire estimate (which is patently false) and needed to restart the entire process over again. This is simply unacceptable. I have spent more time that anyone would consider reasonable trying to get this repair done, and yet, Sears Home Services is unwilling to do anything to help me. I will now be looking for someone else to help me with this repair. read more

Yelp really should allow us to give minus stars maybe using the poop scale. Sears Home Warranty is the worst. I've allowed them to take my monthly payments for two years now even though their service is horrible. In the first few months they were ok and at least responded to my requests but now I'm on hold for 45 minutes and they still don't answer. That's happened to me 3 times. Two months ago I asked them to repair a dishwasher and after ordering the wrong parts twice via a slow boat from China, I'm still waiting for the repair. I've complained to the service repair people but they only do what Sears allows them to do and I can't get Sears to answer their phone. Seriously. Three calls on hold over 45 minutes and my wife hung up after they had her on hold for over 30 minutes. How can company call themselves a "service" company when their own telephone system advises callers that they'll be on hold for at least 20 minutes? If Sears callers are on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes (more like an hour) then wouldn't it be prudent to hire more people to assist the customers? Nahhhhh that would make "service" sense. They don't want to talk to their customers because that might entail paying out insurance claims which means losing money. Read the policy before you buy their insurance because they will not honor their word during the sales process. I called when my under the counter ice machine had a problem and they pointed to some fine print that said the ice machine must be a part of the freezer. I guess they should tell their salesmen that. I have a backyard kitchen and they refuse to Warranty this even though I agreed to pay for a different policy. They simply don't give a damn because they have your money and figure if they don't answer the phone they won't have to send out repairmen and pay out claims. NOT WORTH IT. Update........After posting this poor review of Sears Home Warranty, they sent me a letter advising that they were canceling my policy. They've been taking my money via automated credit card payments for over two years but now they're canceling my contract without cause or explanation. Terrible Service,my washer and drier are still not working properly

I had a call back because my washing machine would not dry the clothes. The second tech said it probably was the stack needed cleaning. Everything checked out well. I called and had the stack cleaned out. It did not need cleaning. The two techs did not check out the controls. It seems that the Auto Moisture Control knob was not heating up. My review is not regarding the technician because he was absolutely fine. He fixed my dryer in five minutes because I had disarmed the whole thing. All he had to do was put a belt on the drum. My complaint was that they charged me $99 for a diagnostic fee that was never done or even existed and $180 in labor that took five minutes. So I was charged over $200, including a joke of a discount, for a job that took five minutes. When I claimed to Sears that they were overcharging me the only answer they could give me was that it was showing that he was there for 15 minutes. What is the difference if it was five or 15 charging a customer over $200 for a job that didn't require much. I think it's disgusting that you take advantage of consumers. This is the first time I have requested Sears Appliance Repair Service. It is the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had, they charged me more than the diagnostic fee, for nothing, they just turned on the labadora and told me it was fine ($ 148.73) just by pressing the power button, the technician Alexander R. He yelled at me and spoke to me with very insulting words because I complained about why he was charging me so much and when I called Sears to complain, they said I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do. Alex the technician who came to service my washing machine was a true professional. He called a few minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on his way. He gave my washing machine a complete check over and then determined what was causing the major noise it was making it the spin cycle .He fixed the problem quickly and cleaned up after he finished with the repair. The next time , I need repairs to any of my appliances, I will request that Alex be the technician they send. read more

Call for a repair service on a dryer, dryer was never repaired, even though they supposedly found the problem and charge me for the part, and labor. Called back the same day, the mechanic and he told me that he can't do anything b/c he is at his house, and to call for another service appointment, and he hanged up on me. Sears Home Services is a sad joke. Incompetent diagnosis, hostile repair person, complete waste of money, extremely poor service, no follow up and a broken dishwasher. Feel free to warn others. Here is the whole sad story, if you have the time and inclination. Pass it on. On May 8, 2017 the Sears Home Services Repair Person came to the house to repair our dishwasher, which was not heating the water or drying the dishes. He indicated that the diagnosis would cost $79.00, but that the repair would be more expensive, depending on the outcome of the diagnosis. When the repair person arrived I provided him with that information. I told him that I had called Sears and spoke to someone in the parts department and was told that the most likely problem was a burned out heating element and thermostat. Those we were the parts we had ordered, which he indicated he was aware of. I told him we were committed to the diagnosis only, and waited for him to determine the problem. He then removed the machine and used his tools and instruments to determine the problem. He said it was, in fact, the thermostat and the heating element. He then proceeded to replace those items using the parts that we had purchased from Sears. After repairing the machine, I asked if it was working, and he indicated that "my instruments don't lie" and to trust him, it was working. After he left I ran the dishwasher twice and discovered that it was not working. We then called Sears to advise them that the repair person had not repaired the dishwasher. He returned on May 15, 2017 at 9:15 am. Without looking at the dishwasher, he indicated that the problem was the control panel. I asked him why he did not indicate that on his original visit, because if we had known, we would not have authorized any of the repairs and would have returned the other parts. He became hostile and angry and said he was only following my diagnosis of the problem, and therefore it was my fault and my responsibility. He then went on to say that couldn't even find my model dishwasher on his computer and therefore could not order a replacement or fix it. I told him that was unfortunate, and that I would have to work it out with Sears. He then became extremely loud and argumentative and again said he was simply following my diagnosis and that he was not responsible and would not be responsible. I told him I thought it was ridiculous to blame the diagnosis on me because it was his job to determine the problem and fix it, not mine. He grew even angrier and tried to convince me that I was the cause of the misdiagnosis. He kept insisting he that he was only following my diagnosis and therefore was not responsible for the fact that his repair did not succeed. I am not a plumber or appliance repair person so I can't imagine why he would base his actions on my "diagnosis." I told him that I would not debate it with him and would contact Sears to discuss the matter. He grabbed his stuff and left in a huff. He then called and told me he had found the correct control panel model. I told him that I was done with him and didn't appreciate his hostile attitude and did not want him back in my house. Frankly, I was afraid of his temper. The entire experience has been disappointing and somewhat frightening. The repair person exhibited a degree of hostility on his first visit, which I had chosen to overlook, but on his second visit it was unacceptable. He misdiagnosed the problem from the very beginning, and to utilized parts that could have been returned. I then contacted Sears Home Services and had two extensive online 'chats' with representatives. Each time I was assured that I would receive an email in the next 24 hours indicating my next steps. I never received an email, even after confirming the correct email address. I attempt a third 'chat' and was told that they had an "internal problem" and that I needed to call Sears directly. I did, and was disconnected 3 times, after long waits! Several days later I called and again, spoke to a representative and then a supervisor. I was assured I would receive a call back on Monday to resolve the situation. I never received a call. read more

Awful service My dishwasher didn't drain called service and this lady kept on trying to sell me a warranty very expensive btw that I don't and dint want didn't listen to me a word I said I have in my best polite manner explained to her my cell was in low battery need to complete service call she kept on and on, finally after she gave me a confirmation service I said bye. The only down side of this review was it did take two weeks for an appt. However, the tech was out on time, kept me informed as to his arrival time and was very professional. My appliances and home were treated with care and the work completed efficiently and properly. Top notch job. read more
