What a night. It started when the lovely missus called me to the garage where we have our washer and dryer. The washer drains into a washtub. I see that it was full and she says that it is not draining. I tried all the tricks on the internet to unclog a tub full of soapy water. No success. The good thing is that this clog is localized and not causing the toilets or baths to fill. Well my daughter has used the services of Seashore Plumbing and suggested I call. He is in the HB area. I called and Mr. Gardner said he would come at noon this morning. Right on time and I showed him the tubs and the drain problem. He was already looking for a vent on the roof. I let him know to get it unplugged. He will go on the roof with his ladder and his equipment. Wow, he said he went about 40ft to clear the clog. We checked and sure enough it was draining like new. Matt saved me tons of money! I had another company come out and they told me that I could snake my pipes but I REALLY need a "hydro jet" which was over $500. I had to get a second opinion. I called Matt and he was able to come out the same day. When I talked to him he told me that I did not need a hydro jet and snaking my pipes would do the trick. Turns out the hydro jets are for root problems.. which I do not have. He spent about an hour and a half working on my ancient stubborn pipes and cleared things out. I almost had to spend $8,000-$15,000 that I don't have for a shower remodel because this company didn't do the job right and were wrong about their diagnosis of my shower. Granted, I was nice to him (and asked him a bunch of questions in yelp messages that he answered), but that was before I got a second opinion, that was when I believed him when he told me my shower drain pipe was broken but HE WAS WRONG... that's where this reviews comes from. I didn't get a good feeling from him when he showed up at my house and he had a smirk on his face when he was filling out the invoice saying that I needed a new shower drain pipe. Aka from the bids I got from different companies, over $1500 for just that plumbing part of the shower remodel. I had Matt at Seashore Plumbing (who somehow has great reviews on here), come out to snake my shower drain that wouldn't drain & Matt told me that I needed a new drain pipe because mine was broken- that means digging into the ground and ripping up my whole shower and redoing it. The bids I got were from $8,000-$15,000. I was so stressed out for 1.5 weeks because of Seashore Plumbing being wrong and just not willing to do the work required to do the job right. In my eyes, he would rather me have to pay him the plumbing part of a shower remodel to get more $ from me. I will never use this company again and would recommend anyone to NOT use this company, because in my case, if I would have just used a different plumbing company in the first place, I wouldn't have even had to be cheated into believing I was going to have to spend $8k-$15k that I don't have.
