I love this place! I almost moved to Seaside just for their ice cream! The ladies are so sweet! They let you taste all the different kinds, and when you finally decide, they say, "Because youre special, extra on top for ya sweetie!" I suggest the Chocolate Mudslide, Grandmas Cake Batter, Sticky Bun, and LEMON MERINGUE PIE!!! We went back a few times for seconds, thrids and fourths! Its just that good. read more

Our family had searched all over Seaside for a taffy company that was conscientious about nut allergies and cross contamination. The two people working at the shop were amazing. I was first greeted by a very enthusiastic young gentleman who explained that the taffy with nuts on it was created on a completely separate belt than the other taffy and all measures necessary were made to prevent cross-contamination. The second worker was a woman and she was also incredibly kind and reiterated their process to other members of my family. Not only were they extremely mindful of nut allergies but the young gentleman also explained that a lot of people roll their taffy out in flour to keep it from sticking and then that eliminates another group of people that can't enjoy it. We went to the ice cream parlor side of their business and he continued his exceptional service by making sure to wash off the ice cream scoop with each scoop to make sure that there was no cross-contamination. I go here for the ice cream! I'm pretty sure it's the cheapest in town. They carry 48 flavors of Tillamook ice cream. The least expensive is $1 for a cake cone, but you can get a sugar cone for $1.50 with 2 scoops! It's always fun because they give you a little bit extra just because you're special! They advertised sugar-free salt water taffy, so I was looking forward to visiting this store. Unfortunately, there are no sugar-free flavors in the bins, you can only get a pre-bagged, random assortment. Worse yet, the bags don't even have a list of the flavors inside; it's a complete guessing game. Some flavors were just okay, one of them tasted like rancid cooking oil, and a couple flavors were pretty good. Some pieces were soft and fresh, some were fairly hard. The man at the counter was surly and behaved as if I was imposing on his valuable time. If the service had been even average and if I could have chosen the flavors for myself (I mean, they have multiple sugar-free flavors, why not put them in labeled bins like the regular flavors?), I would have given them 4 stars just for providing the sugar-free choices. As it is, I gave them an extra star for having a sugar-free variety package. The sales experience and getting that one truly awful piece would really have rated a 1-star. read more

I was so excited about the gigantic variety of salt water taffy! My husband and I selected about a pound each of all different favors. About half of our choices were really delicious. But, the other half? Maybe it's because it was so late in the season, or maybe we just chose unpopular favors that don't get used up quickly enough, but one third to one half of our selections were old and terrible! They all had that slightly rancid oil or rancid butter taste, that completely ruined the actual flavor. Even though we have quite a few left, I almost hate to try them, knowing that so many are not worth eating. It's like a gamble with every piece... Very disappointing! As a saltwater taffy lover, I was so excited to come here. They have a HUGE selection of flavors, and I was literally a "kid in a candy shop". Between my husband and I, we selected approximately 4 pounds of assorted taffy pieces. My husband is more inclined towards black licorice flavors, and I like more of an assortment. Later that night, we both tried a piece of the licorice flavor, and both of us found that this taffy sticks to your teeth like crazy. It is very difficult to eat without the fear of a trip to the dentist. Mind you, the taffy was very soft, not stale at all, but it did not want to be chewed and swallowed. I sampled 4 other pieces from my assortment, and had the same result. So disappointed. Can't decide if I want to throw it all away, or save it for bad kids on Halloween. read more

Saltwater taffy was hard and some of the flavors were indistinguishable. Some of the flavors were good though. Even though it is off season they need to have fresher stock. Have been here before and bought where it wasn't hard, but I think I will try somewhere else next time for taffy. read more

I asked the candyman singing on the street corner if they made their taffy in house and he hushed down and said no, but it is made locally (pretty sure it is Portland). I'm not sure why this place has so many good reviews. The place looks like crap on the inside. Old, dirty, gross. I wouldn't take little kids there. They may have a bunch of flavors of taffy, but not the appeal as a clean store. As soon as you enter the door your ushered over to their big spin wheel and told to spin for a prize. Guess what, it's a piece of taffy, pointless. The staff isn't very helpful. The owner stands out on the corner handing out taffy all day and doesn't bother to care for the building he owns so maybe more customers will come in and "enjoy" their time in his store. The owner is so dedicated & will even sing to you as he hands out free candy to everyone. Super fun vibe in the store with a wheel to spin & everyone wins something. I highly recommend this for families & the prices are so reasonable that you can treat you whole family - even when there are 5 of them- like ours. My wife and I went there on a tip from an old high school buddy. It was magic. The owner was a courteous friendly guy who made me want to go back every time we go to Seaside. A great bunch of kids working there. Everyone seemed to love being there---my wife and I sure did. The candy, ice cream and everything was a treat. It's Willie Wonka modern day. They also have a wheel you can spin with no purchase to try and win some for free. Good ice cream here. We were told by old man on street corner to come here so we did. When we ordered our ice cream the man helping us was telling everyone they got whatever scoops they ordered plus extra because they were special. It was weird, but something I remember from this place. It was kind of noisy inside because people were spinning wheel for free stuff the whole time. I'll admit to being a candy snob - but, honestly this place isn't worth your time or money! Their taffy is shipped in from a factory that mass produces the stuff and many flavors (especially the "odd ball" flavors) were so stale they were disgusting! The dispensers are tall, fun and impressive looking Lucite tubes - but under these tubes lies a sticky, drippy, nasty mess . . . although your taffy doesn't actually touch this mess, it should have been a big red flag! Two pounds of stale, sticky taffy went right in the garbage receptacle in the public parking lot - YUCK!! They also gave us a sample of their fudge that was so old and sugary we could hardly be gracious enough to refrain from spitting it out prior to leaving the shop! The staff was friendly and it is a fun place, but look elsewhere in Seaside and you'll find taffy, chocolates and caramel corn worth your time, money and calories!! read more

Came for ice cream. Stood for roughly 14 minutes. 1 male and 1 female scooping ice cream. BOTH at separate times asked "who's been waiting a while?" To which I raised my hand and made eye contact. Both times they immediately moved to someone who entered long after me, intentionally avoiding acknowledgement of my presence. Horrible service. Fun to see all the amazing flavors of taffy & old fashioned candy sticks even tho I'm not a fan of eating either. I had fun picking out bags of chocolates for family, friends, & myself! The candy was all labeled clearly so it was easy to pick what I wanted. Staff was very friendly.
