Dave built us a beautiful patio cover for a reasonable price. He communicated with us the entire time and made it an easy process. From building our outdoor living area to planting the landscaping around the home...all have been done very well. Argh, so disappointed when people don't provide adequate customer service. Last week I got home right after our landscapers left, to find our back door window shattered...thank goodness it's double paned. We contacted the landscaping company, Seasons Landscapes, and the response was, more or less, "My guys would have told me, it must have been a bird." Accepted no responsibility. I know we've got some pretty aggressive mockingbirds around here, but I'm pretty sure one didn't hit my door, hard enough to shatter it, two feet off the ground. I showed it to "her" guys when they came the following week and they shrugged, said they hadn't noticed it, and moved on. Which they may not have because they whip through here super quick and it wouldn't have made a loud crashing sound. We contacted the company again and told them we've been happy with their service for 3 years, but if they weren't willing to accept any responsibility or address the issue, we would be cancelling our service. Crickets... No response. They apparently received our request because they didn't show up this week. I understand accidents happen, and we knew there was a chance they wouldn't offer to fix it since we didn't have concrete proof, but you would think they would have at least been wiling to discuss it with us. To me a $300 window is not worth losing a three year old customer. Total lack of professionalism. read more

We feel Seasons lacks integrity. After we fully paid them, we found them slippery and uncooperative. They gave us the run-around on warranty claims. We'd never recommend them. We paid Seasons $160,000+ for outdoor work: irrigation, stone/concrete work and an outdoor kitchen & living area. For that money, we expected honest service. Their warranty service was horrible and, we feel, dishonest. They fabricated excuses - all done, we believe, to avoid warranty claims. They denied they could see clear damage that other contractors said was obvious. They promised to do work and never showed up FOR MONTHS. We followed up for months and were ignored. Some of their work was just sloppy. They blamed us for their obvious mistakes. Then, after ignoring us for 6 months, they invaded our property without permission and took promo pictures. CRACKED STONEWORK. They installed extensive stonework. After 7 months we had major stone damage: cracking, pitting & flaking. Seasons first claimed it was probably caused by gunfire or vandalism or a rock - but insisted it wasn't their fault. They claimed they'd never seen this kind of damage, though another mason with 35 years experience said that that was difficult to believe, since cracking, pitting and flaking are very common. Seasons claimed they couldn't see obvious damages and we wasted time with other contractors just to prove them wrong. Seasons tried to pass off foot-long stone cracks as natural veins. Other masons inspected Seasons' work & told us that Seasons either sealed the stones wrong or used bad stones. Then, Seasons agreed they'd fix only 1 crack but decided the rest with major cracks and flaking weren't worth fixing. It took months of battling and wasted time before Seasons finally admitted their work was bad. FAULTY ELECTRICAL. Seasons installed outdoor electric outlets and 1 failed immediately. For 7 months Seasons made us jump through hoops testing it. Finally after 7 months Seasons agreed it needed to be replaced, but never did. We chased them 2 months later and they promised they'd address it again. No one ever came. 5 months later, we emailed about our warranty claims. Again, they didn't respond to our email about the claims. FADED WOODEN DECK. Seasons built/stained a wooden bridge deck. After 6 months it faded horribly. Seasons agreed to re-stain, but never did. We chased them after 2 months. Again, they promised to fix it, but did nothing. We again asked about our claim 5 months later and they never responded to our email about this claim. We paid another contractor to re-stain it who concluded that Season's work was faulty; shouldn't have looked that bad in 6 months. Off-the-shelf products are guaranteed to protect from water damage and graying for years. DEAD TREES. In the summer, Seasons installed 10 large trees and an irrigation system to water them. Seasons told us to turn our water up high and we did. Most of the trees died after a few weeks and they blamed us for over-watering, even though we'd followed their instructions. They replaced 7 trees, hoping the others might recover. We reduced watering but 1 tree died. Seasons refused to replace it saying we killed it. First they said we overwatered, then underwatered. All the trees are in the same area and irrigated off the same system. If it was a water issue, all would have died, not just 1. Our current landscaper confirmed this. He also confirmed that Season's tree died from shock from being planted in summer, which he said is the worst time to plant trees. DAMAGED RAIN SENSOR. Seasons installed a damaged rain sensor. We advised them & they acknowledged our claim but did nothing. We chased them 5 months later, and again, never responded to our email about the claim. CRACKED CONCRETE OVERLAY. Seasons installed concrete overlay that cracked badly after 8 months. We told Seasons in March '14 and they promised to send someone out. They ignored it for 5 months. We chased them in August '14 and they didn't respond to that email about the claim. A month later, after never inspecting the damage, they claimed it wasn't their responsibility. They wrote "concrete installers do not warranty against cracking..." INVASION OF OUR PROPERTY. After almost half a year ignoring our claims, Seasons wanted to take promo pictures at our home. We withheld our permission and asked about the warranty claims, which they ignored again. Despite refusing to allow them to take photos, they did it anyway when we were not home! Seasons confirmed they took the photos. We chased them again about warranty items a few days later; they never emailed us back about the warranty issues. SLOPPY WORK. Seasons installed lights on our patio cover. Instead of concealing wiring in conduit, they tacked it to a post. We didn't notice it a first and complained when we did. They ignored it for half a year. Finally, Seasons told us if we didn't like it we'd have to pay more. That's how they treated us after paying them $160,000! read more

I have used Seasons Landscape over the past few years. They did a nice job on putting in a deck and stone work around the flower beds. The problem started when we used them for landscaping. At first it was "our" fault the azaleas died or were not thriving. Not the fact that they did not adjust the sprinkler system for the new plants which they were supposed to have done. Then 3 out of 5 trees we had them bring in and plant, died. "Our" fault again for tree abuse. Tree abuse? Are you kidding me? They didn't even come out to look at them, would not honor their warranty. One tree was infested with worms when they planted it and I had to spray the rest of our existing trees to get rid of them. The two other trees had obvious trunk damage when they were delivered and we had water bags around the trunks to help keep them watered during the extremely hot weather. They said that it was weed eater damage, without even taking a look at the trees. I am not sure how a weed eater can get through a water bag without busting it up to do trunk damage. I will not recommend them, nor will we ever do business with them again. Really bad customer service. read more

Talked to Dave today about a gabled cover over my grill and bar. I sent pictures for reference. Dave spent more time texting me about what he thought was wrong with my 8-year old installation of the bar and grill than he did discussing options, that might even include some repairs for things not up to code. It's like the contractor for your new addition telling you how poorly your main house was built. It might be true, but there is a professional way to handle it. Say, a phone call or a visit for a quote. Not by texting. I'm glad this came out now and not after taking time off from work to actually meet. Funny thing is, I was hoping to inquire about resurfacing my pool deck and repairing the flagstone on my outdoor fireplace once we actually met. I have contacted other companies and will go the usual rout of talking on the phone and meeting to discuss options. After all his uninformed, snarky comments, Dave finished texting with "Have a Blessed Day". As if that makes being unprofessional somehow more tolerable. I would be wary of entering into a business relationship with someone that has this poor of a sense of maturity professionalism. He might "break up" with you over a text. read more
