Walked by yesterday and told the kiddo we can get a boba tea, if he behaved. I wasn't sure about this place though coz it looked like they used powder (from the outside). We ended up going to Blackball Desserts coz we went venturing up there. Tonight after paying for ChungChun hotdog next door, I took a peek at the menu and decided to give them a try anyway. The aunty behind the counter was very kind and gracious; when I go to a new place I like to ask the employees/staff for their recommendation. Aunty recommended the Heavy Oolong Milk Tea, which is organic if I heard her correctly, and so that's what I got. She then showed me the list of free toppings, so many to choose from! She suggested the crystal boba and I added the lychee jelly too. Other choices include mango jelly, grass jelly, coffee jelly etc. Aunty spoke to me in Mandarin and we conveyed half in Mandarin and half in English. She also offered me a punch card but I told her we're visiting. The drink was ready in the time I signed the iPad! I can taste the Oolong and also the lychee flavor from the jelly. One thing though, I completely forgot to tell her I want my tea half sweet. I think the jellies are usually sweet enough that the tea itself can be less sweet and it'll be just nice. Maybe tomorrow I'll come back and try the Rose Lady (I think) and maybe an ice cream! A couple came in and she helped them soon after. I think the woman is a regular but her friend isn't. And then when I left another couple of people came in. I take that as a good sign. :) Update, March 19: we came back to try other drinks. I got the Pink Lady, half sweet. It's a rose-flavored lychee drink with lemon, I think? I was told that without toppings the drink would be pink! Kiddo got a Brown Sugar Milk Tea, which he said tastes like chocolate milk. Solid 4 star boba shop in C-ID. Only half the shop is utilized for customers with a short wait line. The menu is pretty extensive, staff super friendly, and drinks are made insanely quickly. There's also a handful of ice cream flavors available. So far everything I've tried has been pretty solid - black milk tea, green milk tea, and yogurt milk tea. The drinks can be a little sweet for me - the 50% sweetness tasted like 75% so adjust that sweetness! Definitely one of my go to spots for milk tea. read more

We were on a trip and stumbled upon this hidden gem in Seattle's Chinatown aka International District. There was a group of young teenagers and ppl in their 20s there so we walked right by it lol. We saw a sign that said Boba tea and got thirsty so we said let's try it and I'm so glad we did! We went back there 3 times in a week haha. What is different about this place is that for the price of $5ish you can choose your favorite milk tea, fruit tea and such AND get as many toppings as you like with no extra charge! Most places charge anywhere from 50 cents to $1.50 for each toppings. My favorite was the egg pudding and their Ayu crystal boba and lychee jelly. It was a party in my cup!! Yumm!! Right next to the beautiful gates in the ID, SBT usually has a little line outside but gets through it so quickly. I mean seriously SO FAST. The Boba is SO CHEAP too!!! First off, the workers here are incredibly kind and welcoming. The shop itself is very unique and authentic feeling with all their various Asian teas around and beautiful tea sets and such. They got really good reviews so we decided to go here. This place had decent boba, although it wasn't nearly syrupy or sweet enough, but the drinks we got werei a bit flavorless or a little artificial tasting (the fruity ones). They have punch cards as well if you frequent there, so be sure to grab yours as you bubble tea lovers pay at the cashier! There's not a lot of seating if you and your friends want to hang out, but IMO it's not that type of place. I always wrote this place off for a couple reasons: one, because their name is Seattle Best Tea, and I had a feeling that they mightttt be trying to compensate for actually not best tea, and two, because I'm not a fan of all the places immediately surrounding it so I just avoided that area altogether. Earlier this week I checked it out on Yelp and noticed consistently positive reviews and decided to try for myself. There was a huge line out the door and I wanted to verify if this place was actually good or if it was just frequented by people that didn't know good milk tea if it hit em cross the face haha. Welp, it's really good. Their heavy oolong milk tea seems to be the most popular item, and it's certainly what I've been getting these last three days in a row. Yes, three days in a row. So good!!! I went here years ago at their old location and didn't like it then. Thought I'd give it a try again since it's been a long while. Unfortunately, still a no for me. Quick and friendly service, reasonable price for a 20oz size drink that includes a free topping, and a large selection of flavors to choose from. They also sell unique ice cream flavors (winter melon, honey dew, durian, oolong, to name a few). Unfortunately, the flavors in the drinks are just lacking and really bland. I ordered two of their popular flavored drinks listed (the heavy oolong and the taro), and it tasted like watered down sugar and water, with almost zero tea flavor. It didn't taste like tea, or taro, at all. We had a few sips of both drinks and threw them away. The person before us ordered a lychee tea that she asked to be remade as it had no taste and lacked flavor, and she couldn't taste anything. 1.5 stars: one for friendly service, half a star for the drinks. read more

Seems to be family owned as it's always the same chill dude making the drinks. They take your time but they're good at what they do. Definitely recommend. Every time I have introduced a friend to this drink at Seattle Best Tea, it has become one of their favorites too. Seattle Best Tea is located right next to the link station in Chinatown which makes it very easily accessible. In fact, the staff joke about how people on the way to the airport often stop by here before continuing their journey. The staff is incredibly sweet and work efficiently to get everyone their orders. Both the milk tea and toppings are top tier. The tapioca is the perfect amount chewy which makes this place hard to beat. Another thing to note is there are unlimited toppings for no additional cost, so you can mix and match and try new toppings. This is a tiny boba shop with only three tables but they have some delicious milk tea. They even sell tea in the back of the store! I ordered the heavy oolong milk tea ($3.99) and I really liked it. It was not too sweet and had good tea flavor. Just beware that although the tapioca is included in the price of the drink, by default they don't put it so if you want it you have to explicitly say it. I didn't and so I got my drink with no boba but they were so nice about putting it in when I asked. For the quality and the price this place is really good. We're boba tea lovers/addicts, so we must find boba tea shops at try at every state we visit. Seattle Best Tea is a great tea shop in Chinatown. It's not a pretty looking tea shop like Gong Cha or Sharetea. Just a simple place with several tables and chairs with a variety of milk tea, flavored tea, smoothie, and ice cream. We visited this place twice during our trip in Seattle and had a good experience. All their milk tea is $4.50 (24oz cup) with free toppings, which not many places offer anymore. On our first visit, we ordered a plum milk tea and a kiwi milk tea with boba, 25% sweetness, and light ice. 25% is a good level of sweetness for those who don't have a big sweet tooth, but still want to enjoy good tea taste. On our second visit, we ordered a papaya milk tea with aloe vera jelly and their best-seller heavy oolong milk tea with lychee jelly, same sugar and ice level. Their boba was meh - I couldn't recommend getting them. Kiwi and plum milk tea had great fruity flavors. I let the plum milk tea sit for a few mins and the flavor actually enhanced a bit. It had good Chinese dried plum flavor. Their heavy oolong milk tea claims to be their best seller with strong tea taste, but I didn't agree. It tasted like it was watered down a lot. I normally love oolong tea milk tea but this one had very light oolong tea flavor. All I could taste was the fruity flavor from lychee jelly. Papaya milk tea was LIT! It had the perfect balance of fruitiness and creaminess. It paired very well with subtle flavor of aloe vera jelly. It's not easy to find a good boba tea in Seattle, so I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for boba tea in Chinatown. read more

The service is amazing and the workers seem genuinely happy to be there and interact with customers. I've gotten the brown sugar milk tea (recommend 25-50% as it can be very sweet if higher) and the green tea milk tea. My friend loves the jasmine tea and the mango black tea was definitely not bad at all. Usually not a fan of Ice cream myself, but their oolong and jasmine ice cream is so good too! Quite confused about the hype. It's definitely not the "best tea," but I could maybe see it being the best "bang for your buck"? Come if you love toppings and if all milk teas taste more or less the same to you. For $4.50 plus tax you can get any flavor milk tea with free unlimited toppings in a large size. That said, I ordered the "heavy" oolong milk tea, and I could barely taste any oolong. I can't imagine what the "light" oolong would taste like. Something strange is that between the oolong, wintermelon, and jasmine milk teas, the color of the milk teas all looked the same. 50% sugar was still WAY too sweet for me. If I were to ever come back, I may go to zero. I guess you might like it for that nostalgic "overly sugary drinks you enjoyed as a kid" flavor? The boba is an interesting texture. They have more obvious options of swapping out 2% for whole milk and less sugar. Oasis is a machine and impersonal, while Seattle Best Tea is more approachable, more verbal. Of course, the proof is in the drink itself. I chose a more peculiar combination and it was a total win. Red bean jasmine milk tea with grass jelly made with 2% milk. They use real red bean (not powder) which deserves applause! Commonly, real red bean is used only if it's the topping. The grass jelly is slurpy-ly soft and refreshing. It has a strong oolong taste without the bitterness. I'm not much of a sweets person, so 25% sweetness was perfect for me. This place is the first boba place I've encountered that uses a thicker, sturdy plastic cup and is very much appreciated.
