Before and after installation of 4' tall retaining walls

Recommending Seattle Rockeries 100%! Very professional and really easy to work with. We wanted to terrace our steep front yard to gain usable space; the retaining walls they installed are stunning and even better than what we expected!

Seattle Rockeries is an amazing contractor. Harry and his team are professional and hard-working. I would recommend Seattle Rockeries to my friends. First, I'd like to quote something from a comedian, Sebastian Maniscalco, he said on his Netflix original episode , " You ever get a contractor to work at your house? They'll do the job... They start it, they get a bigger job. Now they pull their whole crew, they work the bigger job, bigger money. Now, you're sitting there. Nobody. I got no floor, no ceiling. Nothing." Familiar ? I guess a lot of people who have had a contractor working for their houses, would say, " Yes, been there, done that!" That was also how I felt when our roof got fixed. We couldn't sleep in our bedroom with a big hole above for three months, because the contractor had another bigger job... When I was looking for a contractor for our yard work, I told myself I needed a reliable contractor for the yard project. The first time Harry came over, I specially asked him if he would leave our yard project during the construction and move to another one. He said, "No, I only work on one project until it's done." He is a honest businessman, he did what he promised. The yard project only took 3 weeks. Harry and his team came over every weekdays, and worked so hard. If you hire Seattle Rockeries for home projects, you wouldn't go through what the comedian said. Harry is very good at details. Whenever there was a question, he would talk to us and confirm what we wanted. They rebuilt the retailing wall and the fence of our front yard, and paved the yard. They did exactly what we asked. It was a jungle yard and now it is a beautiful garden. We love it so much, including our cat who loves exploring there more than before. Our neighbors and friends tell us the wall and the fence look great.

Seattle Rockeries did a fantastic job on our project. Harry was willing to meet me when convenient for me to discuss the project and create a quote. He was very diligent about making sure the work being done was to our specification throughout the process. The crew was very professional - the end result looks great! I'll be hiring Seattle Rockeries for my next stone/brick project.

A bit expensive but worth the price if you want the job done right. Fast bid. Started on time. Finished on time and on budget.

We had such a great experience with Harry and his team. We had them replace several retaining walls (some failing, some just for aesthetic reason) and build us two patio spaces with pavers and they were so helpful from the beginning to the end. Harry guided me through the (long) permitting process with the city and his team was able to start not too long after we finally got the permit. Communication was great and Harry and his team gave great advice on the best plan for our yard. We are thrilled with the result and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Harry came out and gave us an estimate on a Friday. It was very reasonable and competitive. The next Thursday they began construction. They built a 44 foot retaining wall a set of set beautiful rock stairs and another 39 foot retaining wall. Lastly and most wonderfully they put in a 12 x 9 slate patio. The team was courteous and professional. Harry was great to work with, he did several alteration from the original bid with no extra charges. I even enjoyed their company. Overall we are so delighted with the fabulous transformation of our yard. From steep weed covered eyesore to this beautiful usable space.

Harry and his team is outstanding. He came to build a 4 foot retaining wall across the front of my property. One section had two tiers. This was constructed on a steep slope so he was using some pretty big rocks. I was specifically looking for a natural stone rockery and his was the only company that didn't try to talk me into stacked manufactured stone. His crew was excellent and he got to work right away and finished the project a day early. (How often does that happen?). His crew was hard working and very tidy. When they left you could hardly tell they had been there except for a fantastic new wall. I can't recommend them enough. The results exceeded my expectations.

before and after. yard was sloped and not usable as outdoor space. this is the corner property so desperately needed a fresh look.

We had a great experience with Seattle Rockeries. Harry, Ben, and the crew did an amazing job for us. The initial communication, scoping of the work, and estimate process went very smoothly. I was prepared to run into issues and uncertainty given prior experience with other companies, especially with covid, however this was seamless. The work started when scheduled and there was clear communication leading up to the start date. I had a design in mind and worked details out with Harry, collaborating to come up with the plan. The day the work was to start, I had a number of changes I wanted to make which impacted materials and labor. Harry had a great attitude about this, understanding that we both wanted to end up with an end product we'd be happy with. The adjustments now accounted for, and after walking through with the crew, the work kicked off. The entire crew were adhering to covid protocols, were accommodating to the neighbors with access (our house is at the corner of a private road with multiple neighbors), and easy to work with. The communication between myself, Harry, Ben and crew was key as a number of decisions have to be made during a job like this. They were landscaping my entire property (two tier block wall, rockery wall, stairs, pavers, custom fence), really a complete transformation of the entire footprint. The collaboration was key to the success of the job, without question, as they brought ideas that ended up making a big difference. The work was completed on schedule, within agreed budget, and is impeccable. We feel great about the end product and are very excited to have friends and family come enjoy it with us. I highly recommend Seattle Rockeries!

Vans Landscape to the rescue! Summarizing for those that…read moredon't like to read a lot - My experience with Van and his team were great! Van was clear in communication - we accomplished a lot via text messaging; they were fast in execution and implementation and amazing in clean up. I can easily, and heartily, recommend and refer Vans Landscape (vanslandscape.org)! About my tag line - I'm not exaggerating when I lead with 'to the rescue', let me provide some details for context ... I'd previously hired a different landscaping service to do some fairly major change, cleanup and renovation work for my small space. In the end, that other landscaper's description of the work, including rendered images of what the finished product was to look like - did NOT match the result. Enter the home owner's association ... where they reminded me that what they approved and what they saw - wasn't the same. Yeah - it was so bad that multiple neighbors and the HOA 'expressed concern'. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, discouraged, disappointed. I'd just moved into my space a couple of months ago, all the hope and optimism that comes from moving into a new space, being a new home owner and looking to fit into the community. Yikes! How much would a correction cost me? Could I trust another landscaping service? How long would it take? How much would I be fined by the HOA? I took a couple of days to organize my thoughts, and began the search for another landscaping service and came across Vans Landscape. Van scheduled a time to visit my space. He patiently listened to my situation while we walked my small property. He kindly and respectfully offered some alternative suggestions. I had been so distracted by my disappointment and frustration with the situation, that Van's suggestions 'cut through' - they are much better looking and functioning solutions. Thank you, Van - I am grateful! In the end, I'm proud of how things now look. My small rock front yard has a clean, low and gradual, retaining wall that goes up the street, an extended retaining wall along a shared property line and some new arborvitae for privacy in my back patio - resolving concerns and issues for the front and giving me some privacy on my back patio! My neighbors have remarked that 'It (the retaining wall) is beautiful', 'Looks so much better', and 'Should we add them to the list for the HOA?' (Yes!) It may sound silly, but I did feel 'rescued' - someone helped me when I genuinely needed it; resolving my real issues, improving curb appeal, and resolving my neighbors and HOA concerns. My future plans include Van's ... When I'm done, and with HOA approval, I'll be asking Van to give me an estimate on my ideas. Again, my experience with Van and his team were great. I easily recommend and refer Vans Landscape (vanslandscape.org)** for your next project or for landscape maintenance as their attention and commitment to detail was made clear. **Yeah - I listed the site as there's a few Van's Landscape sites out there; I want you to have the one I used.

Their quote was fair and competitive -- ultimately I decided to move forward with someone who came directly recommended by a friend, but Van's pricing was absolutely in line with the market and within about $100 of my lowest quote out of five different providers I interviewed. The scope included a full spring cleanup of a heavily overgrown yard, including mowing, pruning, weeding, pressure washing, bark installation, and repairing a distressed gravel pathway. Their pricing was very much on par with the other companies I met - for that large service, as well as ongoing bi-weekly yard care. They were on time, responsive via text when confirming the verbal quote and providing additional pricing details, and overall very kind, transparent, and fair throughout the process. Even though I went a different direction for this particular project, I would absolutely feel comfortable recommending them in the future. The experience was easy, professional, and very competitively priced.

While landscaping companies play a crucial role in transforming outdoor spaces, my recent…read moreexperience in April/May 2025 with GoGreen Landscaping for cleanup and yard restoration work fell short of expectations. Here are the key issues that surfaced during my project: Quality of Work - The cleanup and restoration work did not meet the promised standards. Despite assurances of thoroughness, some bed areas were left uncleared, with debris and weeds remaining. Additionally, items like edging and pruning that were included in the scope of services were not performed at all. Beyond the dethatching, the lawn restoration work yielded a lackluster result. Customer Communication - Written communications with GoGreen were very frustrating. After pointing out the issues that I had with the work performed, GoGreen accused me of overwatering the new seed, planning to never pay in full, and finally of having unrealistic expectations. The issue was exacerbated after I partially paid the invoice for the cleanup work while waiting for improvements in the new lawn. After receiving some angry, defensive responses, I informed GoGreen they were no longer welcome at my home. I attempted to settle the balance by offering to pay for materials and dethatching since I now need to fix the issues myself or hire another company. I then received another email threatening me with a lien on my property if I didn't pay in full. This response felt heavy-handed and added unnecessary stress to an already frustrating experience. Despite my obvious displeasure with the outcome, I paid the outstanding balance in full. Conclusion - I'm sure after reading this review, GoGreen will write a response blaming me for the outcome. Nothing GoGreen responds with will take away the fact that I wrote this review because GoGreen failed to deliver what was promised in the original scope of work. So, if you have unlimited financial resources and have extremely low expectations regarding the outcomes of your home projects, then GoGreen might be for you. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere for landscaping services.
