We recently moved to a home in North Beacon Hill, and unfortunately our laundry machines were backordered. In comes Seattle Express Cleaners to the rescue. We had stock piled our laundry for weeks and finally caved to get it done. I was a little hesitant at first to leave the laundry out in bags to get picked up but they texted to let us know when they'd be there and when the laundry was picked up. The laundry was picked up on a Friday and delivered, washed and folded, by Sunday evening. They even separated the dresses and hung them up on hangers. They texted us with a copy of the receipt and what the total would be upon delivery and when they'd expect to be there. 35lbs+ of laundry came in just around $85 and was oh-so-worth it. QUALITY AND CONVENIENCE! I've used Seatte Express Cleaners a couple of times now and love the result and the process. You text them, they pick up, they text you and arrange a time to drop off right at your home. We've had suits, dresses, scarves, and shirts done. They got out stains that I thought were impossible, made a 25-year-old soccer jersey like new, and refreshed all different kinds of items. It's a very different model and can feel casual - handing your things off on the sidewalk - but it's so easy to do and the results are great. I've now used these folks twice - their pick-up/drop-off is efficient and they have been able to pick-up my things the same day I've reached out. Their driver is wonderful - I made a few additions (comforters and dry cleaning) this time and he let me know then that my things may take an extra day or two than originally quoted - totally acceptable, I appreciated how up-front he was, and the turnaround is still great compared to other companies I've used in the past. I would recommend contacting them directly by text, call, or email. A few users here have experienced issues when coordinating their services through a third party. I completely understand the luxury of having someone else recommend and set up the services. However, I'm too much of a micromanager for that. Contact them directly - you'll have pick-up set up in no time, and the timing will undoubtedly better suit you. A certain degree of flexibility is key - if you're flexible, they'll be able to get you in at their earliest convenience. It feels 'scammy' at first... you text 'a phone number', 'someone' tells you when they pick up. Then the mystery person texts you back to let you know when your stuff's been delivered, and that's it. Sounds weird and awfully trusting doesn't it? BUT WAIT! This is the real deal, and the service is AWESOME!!! Just moved to the area over winter holidays, chose this place over others because I saw the glowing reviews, with the 'this will feel weird' caveats that some folks posted... I thought they were just being funny. Nope. It's really that easy...that's why it's 'scary'. You've probably gotten used to things being a hassle. This is the opposite of a hassle: I texted the phone number, 'they' (the magical elves of laundry?) mentioned that they were already acquainted with our apt. building and, in fact, already had laundry pick-up bags waiting in the Leasing Office. They told me that, if I wanted my clothes picked up right away, there was a driver in the area who could pick up in 30 mins, and was that too soon for me? I was all excited so I said sure and walked down to the Leasing Office, hoping the staff would know what I was talking about once I got down there. The asst. mgr in the office was all 'Oh yeah, it's super-easy, here's a pick-up bag and the sign up form!'. I asked her "That's it?" She nodded. "That's it!" So I put a bunch of my husband's expensive dress shirts (some are gifts from France, not the easiest to replace) in the bag, closed it, handed it back to the asst. mgr, filled out my contact and payment info on the form that fit in the pouch on the bag, then texted 'them' back to let them know the pick up bag would be waiting for them. I got a text back less than 30 mins later saying it had been picked up. Then I waited. 2.5 days later I got a text saying that they were done and ready for me in the Leasing Office. When I went to get them, I was shocked. They managed to make one of the shirts look orders of magnitude better than when I gave it to them: a bespoke I'd scrimped and saved for 12 yrs ago, which had been *horribly* abused by dry cleaners in Chicago...that I'd given to Seattle Express as a 'well, let's see what they can do with this...' It looked amazing! All the chalky marks and crimps from over pressing and too much starch were gone!!! It almost looked like a new shirt again! The French shirts looked like they'd just been unwrapped for the first time. And no 'freshly dry cleaned' smell. Just 'clean smell'. Today I picked up a dress that had had stains that were hard to find unless you were actually wearing the dress. Stains gone. A shirt that had gotten ELECTRIC PURPLE HAIR DYE on the collar: purple all gone without a trace! I couldn't be more thrilled. The prices are totally reasonable (to me) considering I never have to leave the building, the service is prompt (as is the communication), and the cleaning quality is excellent. I just received my wedding dress and I couldn't wait to give my review! After a few weeks of serious searching for a dry cleaner that would properly clean and preserve my wedding dress, I decided to give Seattle Express Cleaners a shot. Wow, am I glad I did! They agreed to an initial phone call to answer my questions, concerns, and to go over the entire cleaning and preservation process from start to finish. It really helped to quell my worries. After sending photos of my dress and veil, they gave me a quote range and promised to text me and check in each step of the way. They made sure to confirm with me at the beginning that the process would take time, several months in fact, but I was completely fine with that. They ended up delivering 3 months early. My dress was heavily soiled, we had our wedding on a lawn, and they were skeptical on how much of the stains they could remove. They ended up being able to get them ALL out. Laundry = the most annoying chore necessary to feel clean and look presentable. Seattle Express Cleaners is basically like being a child again. You cry because all your clothes are dirty (i.e. You text them asking to coordinate a pick up). Your mom washes your clothes, folds them perfectly in piles, and delivers them on your bed (they basically do this). You're good to go. I decided to still take a chance because if all the positive reviews. They give me a 20 min window of when they would come then showed up an hour late without sending any notices. Same thing happened when they returned cloths. They are not really any cheaper and when I said that my shirts didn't need to be dry cleaned at $10 each they said they wouldn't do anything. OMG these people are a godsend! I had mountains (125 lbs!) of laundry built up after having hip surgery, and only being able to wash the essentials for months! Seattle Express Cleaners set up my pick up time via text message at 11:00pm, picked up the next afternoon and had it back to me in 24 hours! Not only did they lint roll ALL of the cat hair off my clothes before washing them, but they double soaked my whites, worked out my stains, pressed my sheets and pillow cases, and hung all my nicer clothes! My laundry is immaculately folded, organized neatly for easy put away, and wrapped neatly in plastic. My delicates were even wrapped in tissue for privacy. They even left treats!! Laundry is definitely my least favorite way to spend my day off, so I was happy to have Seattle Express Cleaners help out. I was busy preparing for a week out of town for business and they saved me so much time doing loads of laundry! They were prompt in getting back to me on pricing, available pickup/return times and very polite and friendly. (It's by the pound, $40 minimum for up to 15 lbs and $2 per additional pound- of course their pricing could change any time so don't quote me!). They picked up my laundry and actually had it ready to return early on the same day and offered to drop it by- I actually wasn't going to be home but I appreciated the heads up that they could return my clothes early. They gave me a delivery window for the following day that was accurate. When I got my laundry back everything was perfectly folded and separated by item type, so it was a breeze to put away. They used unscented detergent as I requested, as well! Altogether I had a little over 15 pounds of laundry and it was just under $40 to have it done. They offer a small discount for paying cash. Be sure to have small bills to tip; I had wanted to give him a $5 but I only had $20s. He didn't have change but was super gracious about not getting tipped. As a traveling professional, getting home to do my own laundry is not always in the cards. I've done my share of hotel laundry services, attempted laundromat visits and just about every other on the go services. Seattle Express stands out above the rest in every category. I arrived in town, located them on yelp and started to text them at 10pm on a Friday night. By 11:30pm, they had picked up my laundry from the front desk and confirmed they could turn around in 24-hours. The cost was reasonable, compared to sending off a single article at a time thru a hotel service. Upon return, I found 2 bags with neatly folded clothes. No fancy boxes with stuff over packed, just simple packing, easy to unpack and put in the dresser. Everything was clean, folded and smelled great. For very little effort, I was able to handle the transactions via text in and around my busy work schedule. Excellent dry cleaning service! They pick up and drop off from your house- super easy to work with, great communication. I sent my two favorite winter wool coats away and got them back in just a few days. They looked perfect and didn't have any chemical residue or smell like other cleaners do sometimes. They were fair on price and let me decide if I wanted to accept the cost before going ahead with the cleaning. I thought that was a good courtesy to employ. I love that they work through text! I fully expected to pay a lot because I basically waited until all of my clothes were dirty and it was just too overwhelming for me to even consider tackling. I believe I had about 5 garbage bags or more of laundry. But the cost was very reasonable and possibly even cheaper than when I took it to a wash and fold. They accepted credit cards, communicated very well, picked it up and dropped it off and removed all of the pet. They also took pity on me that I was out of clothes and did a rush job. Tried their 24/7 texting line last night and asked for their minimum pickup. They refused to tell me until I told them my address; so told them my address and waiting for a response sent a separate message saying what im used to paying for minimums. After about an hour of waiting I assumed they wouldn't respond so I deleted their number and messages as it was about 2-3am and maybe they would wait until the morning to text back. I'm reposting my review after followup interactions with this company that were super rude and unprofessional. The rating review distribution on my profile shows that I have been giving honest feedback of companies on Yelp for years, and demonstrates that I have given as many five star reviews as I have one star reviews during my time as a Yelper. That said, I would give this company 0 stars if I could. To describe my use of their services, I would say that my experience was incredibly inconvenient, expensive, and frustrating. It took about 30 text messages to figure out what day they would return my clothing, all of the communications were unclear. First, they refused to return my clothing on a Friday after 5 p.m., "Because it's a Friday." They also couldn't return it on a Saturday before 5 pm, but didn't provide me with a specific time for drop off, or even a time frame. So I ended up waiting around all day for them to return it. As a result, I couldn't go out and run errands/do other things and be back at a specific time -- which, to me, would really be the whole benefit of using this type of service. Then, when the driver finally arrived, he *failed to give me my whole order!* Apparently he "forgot" (after charging me for dry cleaning) that I had dry cleaning, even after I asked him if some items were missing. As a result, after waiting ALL DAY for the first drop off, I had to wait another couple of hours for him to come back to return the rest of my items. All of this back and forth was certainly not worth the price I paid. If I were going to sit around all day waiting for them to drop off my laundry at their convenience I might as well have just done my laundry myself with that time. They also don't pick up from your door, which was surprising to me given that Laundry Luxe does, and that UPS/USPS/FedEx as well as food delivery services ALWAYS deliver inside my apartment complex, to my door. I had to lug bags of laundry down flights of steps to the front of my building and lug them back up on delivery. Again, if I'm going to do that it takes away a lot of the convenience that I imagine would make the price worth it. Finally, as a longtime Yelp reviewer, I am shocked at the level of drama and childishness present on this company's page, including bizarre personal attacks on Yelpers sharing their bad experiences by other "consumers." It really makes one wonder how many of these five-star reviews are legitimate and from actual consumers, and how many Yelpers sharing bad experiences with Seattle Express Cleaners have been bullied into removing their reviews. There appears to be at least one person from this company posing as an overinvested consumer here, who somehow claims to be unaffiliated with the company while also *having been personally present while other reviewers had one-on-one interactions with company employees.* Think about that for a minute. Such blatant attempts to get other Yelpers to change their reviews via all-caps threats, snarky references to others' user pics, and bullying is completely inappropriate and unethical business practice, and completely out of line with the purpose of this platform. These review spaces that attack other Yelpers instead of simply sharing their own "consumer" experiences reflect and substantiate the unpleasant interactions that I had with Seattle Express Cleaners, and call into question the integrity of this business better than I ever could. In conclusion, I strongly recommend you avoid this company. It is super inconvenient, pricey, and the company cares very little about customer service. You'd be better off just doing your laundry yourself and saving the $$ for the same amount of time. Plus, at this point, I wouldn't trust that people this vindictive and childish wouldn't "accidentally" ruin my clothes! I'd highly recommend that if you want to spend the money on a service like this, there are many better options. Luxe Laundry is professional and adult in their communications with you, and charged me $82 for the exact same work that Seattle Express Cleaners charged me $146 for, and Luxe Laundry did better work. Luxe Laundry also delivered to my door, and returned my items within 48 hours at a time that was convenient for me, that I specified, without needing to text back and forth about it at all. I'm sure there are also other companies that do this work, conveniently, as well without the drama. :) read more
