I came here hoping - against all odds and against the conclusions I drew from obvious heat - that they would have live uni.... But of course, they didn't since I came early-August. Have no fear, if you are looking to eat live sea urchin in all its glory, they have it during the colder months starting in late September. Best poke I've ever had! The rice is nice and warm. My favorite thing was the scallops. $2 extra is totally worth it to include the scallops in your bowl. I only have one issue with Seattle Fish Guys. They post too much on instagram. I followed them for a while but they posted photos multiple times a day so my insta feed was pretty much exclusively Seattle Fish Guys. That being said I do love this place (I just no longer follow them on instagram). Poke here to me is the best Seattle has to offer. After talking to him found out he used to own a place in the Pike place market so he has the hook ups on the freshest seafood for sure. The crab and shrimp cocktail were so delicious! Wow. Our first stop on our trip up to Seattle (we're from the SF Bay Area) was a major hit! The three of us each got the two-item poke with seaweed. Each plate was huge! The tuna came in big chunks and ohh so fresh! We have poke bowls back home but not like this! We could eat this every day. I had the tuna and octopus, both were delicious. We live in the apartment above Seattle Fish Guys and come here at least once a week!!! My husband is from Hawaii and we love how this place has a local vibe! I always get the tako bowl (so good!) and he gets the ahi poke bowls, sometimes spicy or just shoyu. The spicy can be on the super spicy side which I love but he's not much of a fan of. We get our salmon here for dinners at home and it's always fresh! Love how there are small portions (scallops, clams, tempura shrimp, cakes, smoked salmon) to take home too, we haven't tried them yet but it's on our list. I recommend this place to everyone! Out of all of the Poke places I've been to so far, this one takes the cake. Friendly staff who know their fish. If you don't believe me, try asking them anything and you can even do a fact check. Because these guys know their fish, they know how to keep the quality of their poke fresh and top tier! Having moved to maple valley from maui, finding seattle fish guys on google maps while running errands in the city was a heaven send! Poke, and sashimi done right like the way its done back home. Seeing all the fresh seafood and being greeted with some island style aloha i knew we were in a good spot. As much as i wanted to get a poke bowl my eyes and stomach seen that they do unagi bowls and i could not resist unagi while my sister got the crab sub. The food was delicious! Washed it down with some sweet hawaiian sun drinks that took my tastebuds down memory lane to when i was a kid. Yum!! After our delicious meal we got back in line to order more to go as i have not found anything like this around the maple valley area. We ordered some poke, a pre packed chirashi bowl some pokeys and an ube cheese cake made by hood famouse that they sell at fish guys... EVERYTHING was good! Wow what a great surprise to find hawaii-style poke in Seattle! My sister and I each got a poke bowl - one shoyu tuna and one salmon. Each poke bowl also comes with a side. I got squid salad and my sister got seaweed salad. The shoyu tuna was delicious, fresh and not too salty. You can add more soy sauce if you want to. I liked that the fish chunks were also pretty big! I had the sashimi plate which gave me a serving of some tuna, yellowtail and salmon. I think the yellowtail was good and salmon was decent, but I felt the tuna was tasting too fishy. I had the sides of crab and seaweed salads and I kinda like the seaweed salad, however I didn't really enjoy the crab salad that much since I think it's too sweet and mayonnaise dominant. Last time I reviewed, I was disappointed with the fish seasoning. This time, after ordering in from UberEats to our office, I was a lot more satisfied - after I specifically wrote in all caps 'NOT SPICY AT ALL PLEASE." The spice was definitely toned down, although I could still taste some chili. It was a really big portion too, enough for me to save for dinner later. After learning my lesson to make sure to specify what I wanted, I would say this place is a pretty good deal. Wanted a seared piece of fish for my 7 yo twins as they dont eat raw fish. Said they couldnt make it due to fire laws. I didnt want to question it but was given option of beef bowl which worked out perfectly. Tasted like beef sukiyaki. Generally the staff we interracted with were friendly and we felt welcomed, but on both times we also ran into an hispanic gentleman who seemed annoyed when we ordered or even asked him to refill the empty water canister. We will definitely be back as these were the best meals we had in Seattle. If we had one extra day...we would have gone back for the salmon/yellowtail chirashi bowls...great deal for $9.99 and so fresh!!! read more

Was so excited to try this place out after seeing Mark Wiens do his food tour of this shop and all the high ratings on Yelp. Was definitely disappointed and not sure why all the high reviews. Ordered the spicy tuna poke which was just meh. The seaweed salad side was way too heavy on the sodium. It would be difficult to eat the salad without eating it with the side of rice to balance the sodium. The problem was that the side of rice that came with it was covered in a nori seasoning that was probably made up of a ratio of 90% salt and 10% nori. Was only able to eat the bottom half of the rice because the top was too salty. I don't think would come back to try anything else even though I love poke, sashimi, and seafood. read more

I'm only going to be in Seattle for a week, but I've already been here three times, partly out of convenience, but also because it's really good poke! Although this place is predominantly a fish market, it doesn't smell too fishy, so you can actually sit inside and enjoy your food. They also have lots of patio seating if the weather's nice. The first time I was here, I just opted for a salmon poke. Their poke bowls come with a choice of rice (brown or white) and a side (seaweed salad, kimchi, mac salad, or squid salad). I always got the white rice, which is nicely springy while not being all mushed together, and the seaweed salad, which is a bit sweet but pairs well with the poke. The salmon poke is cut a little bit irregularly, so some chunks are quite huge while others are slightly more bite-sized, but each piece is super fresh. If you're looking for the recently popular LA-style poke with 15 different types of cucumber, daikon, shaved carrot, yuzu sauce, and orange zest, you're not in the right place. Their poke is simply dressed with tiny pieces of cucumber, some spice from peppers, thinly slices scallion, and most likely a sesame oil/soy sauce mix (but I'm not sure). The poke might be a little bit on the spicy side for some people, but I ate about half before noticing that it was spicy at all. Their rice is topped with furikake, which is a savory/umami seaweed flake and sesame seed mix. It's very good! I got the exact same thing my third time. The second time I visited, I tried the both the scallop and salmon poke. Getting two different types of fish/seafood is slightly more expensive, I think $12.99 compared to $10.99. Since I knew this going in, it didn't really faze me, but there wasn't a really discernible difference in the amount of poke you're getting. So essentially you're paying extra money for the option of variety, and not for extra quantity. Another thing to note is that scallops are +$2, which makes sense because scallops are more expensive in general. However, if you're going to get scallops, I recommend not getting it with another fish because you'll still be charged $2 extra but you're only getting half the amount of scallops anyways (they don't halve the additional charge just because you're getting half the portion) . The scallops and salmon seemed to be dressed pretty similarly. Also, each scallop is surrounded by a little chewy ring that texturally resembles clams, which I've never experienced before! Pretty interesting. These scallops are not that big though, maybe the size of a quarter. If you really love scallops, then this might be for you, but if you were just trying it out of curiosity (like me) then maybe skip it. Since I expected all of the additional costs, I didn't really care. Overall this place was really great, with super fresh fish, and friendly people working there! If I came back to Seattle, I'd definitely come here again. read more

I have been waiting to come eat here for a yr... The opportunity to visit Seattle came and this place was amazing as I imagined. We had the Poke Sampler and OMG this was amazing, fresh and the amounts were generous. Braulio (Staff) is who helped us out and he was great, very informative and an amazing host. I wanted to try the Smoked Salmon Belly but it was not available until Saturday he brought us a small sample in order to not leave without trying it.
