We asked SECCO to come for maintenance on my mom's AC. As a rule I always get three opinions. All SECCO wanted to do was sell a whole new AC including furnace, which had nothing wrong with it. They over diagnosed what was needed for the AC. They gave us an estimate that did not have details. Complete rip-off. When we reached out for details from the tech they NEVER called back despite multiple attempts. HL Bowman came out and gave us an honest repair estimate and diagnosed it as having ONE thing wrong. They fixed it that day and it's working great!!! read more

I am truly regretful to leave the worst review possible ... but sadly SECCO Home Services and Pronto Plumbing deserve it. We called for their 24/7 service on Sunday and were told we would have a technician come out to service our clogged kitchen sink on Monday morning. Morning came and went and no technician and no courtesy call. We called SECCO 3 times and were regularly promised a technician visit in the next hour . We called again ay 4.55 pm (and were told we called just minutes before their dispatcher - for advertised 24/7 service!!! Closed) We were told to still expect a technician, thankfully we didn't hold our breath, but the dishes were definitely piling up! No technician and no courtesy call! I called SECCO on Tuesday morning and 'Phil' said we'd be placed on the list ( wasn't I already??) and assured me that a technician would be at our house by 12 noon. 12 noon - you guessed it - no service, no call to let us know. At 48 hours wait we called another service - and in 2 hours, the timeframe given, our issue with the clogged sink was fixed! We had the decency to call SECCO and cancel - I wish they would have had the customer 1st policy their website told me they have. Obviously, their actions proved otherwise, and I'd never recommend their service to anyone. read more

For the 2nd year in a row , Secco has left me down . On BOTH occasions, I was given a window of between 10 am and 12 pm . The first incident was last year . They just didn't show or call . I had to call them ! This year , which was yesterday , no call , no show with in the 2 hour window . Again , I had to call and was given a generic excuse as to what may have happened at the techs prior appt . before mine . The salesman , joe (I believe his name was ) was impatient and short with me . I called back again after another 1/2 hour , and cancelled . It would have been a courtesy to inform me if they would have been running late . I literally waited 1 1/2 hours past the window that they gave me , totaling 3 1/2 hours of wait time ! I'm doubting I'll use them anymore and I will let others know if this in addition to giving this review ! read more

if I could leave no stars I would have. I just had work done from Pronto they came out changed the fill gage but not the flapper. they charged around $250. I call them back the next day and let them know what they did didn't fix the issue. they come back out change the flapper said they should have changed it the day before. they still charge me $170 even though they had to fix what they first messed up on. on the third day I wake up and it is still dripping so i call them again and get told they are going to give me a deal and only charge me $99 to come back out to fix what should have been done on the first visit. They are a rip off I could have just bought an entire new toilet for this price. They also do my HVAC and I agressive with other posts, they keep try to sell me a new system, or air filtration etc..which they way over price. I will NEVER use them again for anymore nor will I ever recommend them again. read more

This Secco and Pronto company took us for 15k and had our yard ripped up for 4 weeks only to leave us with no solutions No solutions and no return calls. We found out after calling another plumber who had to fix what they did how much they lied about. Plus we bought a disability insurance plan on the financing and my husband became disabled. Price is completely out of line. Because of that they come off as a scam company trying to convince lay homeowners and innocent old ladies to pay nearly double what they should for work that may not even be necessary. That being said, they do good quality work and are punctual. And if you buy onto a membership you can use points to offset some of the overpricing. They a good company to have available for the semi-emergency work. I keep a running membership in case something breaks while I'm on the road and my wife can't fix it. For that I think they serve a decent role. For planned work and improvements, bid to multiple contractors and you will see how much Secco overcharges customers for the convenience factor. read more

Very bad service..Tech lied as to what he did, and supposedly put new heat tape over old heat tape,, never put another part on the end of heat tape. I put out over 300.00 and they had no warranty for the work they did. So I still had no water after 3 days, and they are.a scamming company of the consumers.. I have had a home service contract with this company for over a year and they have either not shown up for a scheduled appointment 5 times over that time or have shown up ONLY because i called to see where the technician was - they have had no problems taking money out of my bank account - but they seem to have real problems actually doing ANY work . There customer service reps are RUDE and CONDESCENDING and have ZERO power to make things right - don't bother calling them . I give the technicians 5 stars for sure! The office staff lost a star because 1.) when I called to follow up before the appointment, I told the rep that I knew the serial number and mode of the motherboard for my AC that I needed. I gave it to the person so when the techs arrived on Monday, they could already have the part with them that needed to be replaced. The techs arrived on time but were never told to bring the motherboard. AND 2.) , when they ordered the part, the first delivery (30 minutes later) was wrong. It was 2 pieces of PVC and not a bleeping MOTHERBOARD!! The techs were very courteous a d went above and beyond to bring my unit into compliance free of charge. The correct part arrived about 35 minutes later and it was installed. They stayed for another hour to make sure my system was working properly and kept checking the temps and serviced my outdoor unit as well. I have used Secco for 4 toilet installs and a kitchen faucet replacement and a dishwasher repair. I have always been satisfied with the work and the technicians. I thought I paid a higher price for the toilet installations, but the toilets were all one piece toilets and are more difficult to install, so I get it. I happily paid Secco to repair the AC because the idiot that installed it did it wrong and caused it to malfunction in the first place which caused the motherboard to get wet and fried it. That guy (Charles Scheiber) wanted the same amount as Secco to "maybe fix it by Thursday." In the meantime, it was almost 90 degrees in my house. Secco gave me an appointment for Monday and they arrived on Monday and fixed my AC on Monday. I'll happily call them if I need to in the future. read more

I haves used them on 4 different repairs. They are very responsive and have a knowledgeable staff. However, their pricing are extremely expensive compared to other general contractors or they will attempt to do an unnecessary repair. I believe they work off commission. For example, requested toilet handle to be adjusted to stop minor drip. They quoted me abt $300 to replace part, once I told him that was outrageous he said he can adjust handle for $50. This same service person was trying to tell me my water softener needed to be replace for $5k. Had a second opinion done and contractor stated there was no need to replace system. Another example is they installed 2 TV wall mounted brackets (I already purchased mounts)---took contractor abt hour to complete both mounts. Charge was abt $550....Yes, WOW. I was a SECCO member and thought u got a discount. Bottom line---If I get in a pinch and have an emergency repair and no other contractor are available, I would most like use again! read more

A good company would do quality work at an reasonable price and NOT try to sell you what you do not need - just stick to the reason for the call. Had them come to the house to attend to my Heat Pump. I knew the part - the 'Defrost Control Board' had 'went'. And I knew how much it would cost me to purchase it $77.10. This board is under warranty therefore It would not cost me for the part. They assured me in advance I would not pay for the part. Right - wrong - I noticed on the bill an 'part transportation fee' - that cost was .............$77.10 I give credit to SECCO......... for being innovative in their 'ideas' to relieve you of your hard earned money. Bottom line: I will NEVER use them again AND I - will assure as many people as possible are aware to seek repairs from some other company. So far I have re-directed 41 people AWAY from SECCO. read more

Do not ever use these guys. They will charge you way above and beyond what you should be paying for a service. I had them come out to look at my outdoor hvac unit today. Part needed was a $232 piece. They charged me almost $700 and the technician was only there for 2 hours!! You can't tell me it costs $450 to install a piece that quickly connects. I get there is labor and overhead for a business, but this is ridiculous. Users beware of this company. The only fee I was notified ahead of time was for a $60 dispatch fee. Had them out to my house for a preventative maintenance cleaning. Was informed within 10 minutes that I needed an entire new heating and cooling system. He then called another person to come over and discuss "options". All extremely expensive options. Not knowing much about this stuff, we gave in and placed the order and signed up for their membership program as well all to the tune of $7800. With in an hour or so of them leaving we had a change of heart and called the next day and cancelled the job. We had another company come out and replace a part for $120. Something that actually needed done. No dispatch fee. We will be having them do a heat pump tune up for $125, and we will also have the vents cleaned for $165. Secco charges $2000 for a duct cleaning but if you don't get the ultra violet light doo-hickie, it's $995. We found out about that item when our original costs were $9088 and they took it off. Even though we cancelled the job with Secco we still have to pay an $89 dispatch fee, and the $40 membership fee is non refundable. So for $130 we got a 2 hour sales pitch on a system we didn't need. Bottom line, these people have lots of fancy trucks and radio ads they have to pay for and their "techs" are out selling jobs and systems, not actually doing any work. read more

I was just told that the points, points that I have paid for, not points that I earned have no cash value. 10 days ago, I called because the drain pipe that they installed 2 years ago had cracked and needed to be replaced. I made a reserved appointment for 3:30 today (what they said was their last appointment time), and had to leave work early to get home for that appointment. They left me a message at 3:15 to tell me that they could have someone to my house in 45 minutes. I returned their call at 3:20 when I got home, only to find that they had sent the technician somewhere else. The woman I spoke with didn't seem to know I had an actual appointment, and wanted to reschedule for the same time tomorrow. No thank you, I'll call someone else! read more

I've had a hot water heater and garbage disposal replaced as well as received an estimate to replace my furnace. In ALL cases, if you take the area average (as found on Homewyse.com) and multiply by 2, this is what Secco charges. To me, being a member does not save you ANY money when prices are so inflated. I will NOT be calling them to repair or replace anything ever again. On top of that, when I replaced the garbage disposal I paid with my credit card. Three days later, I checked my bank account and the same charge had also been deducted from my card on file. Over $700!!! (Yes, I paid over $700 to get a garbage disposal installed - crazy I know!) WHY did the company not notice the duplication before I called about it? And to find out it will take several days until the reversal actually hits my account. So I'm being penalized for their "mistake" and all I received was an apology when a large sum of my money is tied up for days. $700 is not a small amount and these type of "mistakes" are unacceptable. I have since canceled my membership and will not pay one more dime to this company ever again. After getting a second opinion, we do not even need a new furnace - when Secco told us we did. Secco Home Services at first glance seems like a legitimate service, but at the end of the day the entire organization is fraudulent and continuously misrepresent their services. The plumbing, the HVAC, and the electrical services are all over priced. Actually had a representative tell my spouse that they have incentives to locate and find problems. I'm all for locating issues, but Secco installed the HVAC system, backup house Generator, and Humidifier for my house. I have been a loyal customer for 10 + years with an annual service contract and they "always" attempt to upsell or "find" something wrong with the systems that they installed. I understand the need for service, but Secco is fraudulent and "sell" one process, but complete another process. Secco installed my HVAC systems, backup generator, water heater and other items. Their prices are ridiculous, their rainy day points are BS, and I wouldn't recommend Secco to my worst enemy. 3 people have lied to me on 3 separate occasions in the last three weeks pertaining to what I have paid for. Don't get me wrong, Kevin that came out was great. He was prompt and polite. My problem was with your prices. We had a clogged drain at our rental property. Kevin informed me of the steps it would take to unclog the drain. When we finally got to the price, I was quoted over $1,000. To unclog a drain. This was just outlandish. I have had lines jetted before for half this cost which is a much more time-consuming process. I declined to use the service and was still charged a $59.95 service charge (I was aware of this going into the call). The next day I got a plumber to come out and do the same job for $240. Keep away from Secco, their plumbing is called Pronto Plumbing. Stay away from them too. I called Secco for a quote, guy came wearing a Pronto plumbing badge - I've had previous bad experiences with them that I'm not going to elaborate. When the quote was VERY high, I hesitated. He said that he will charge a dispatch fee, despite my call was for ONLY a quote . I was taken aback. They are 2X times at least expensive compared to comparable plumbers. They tried to sign me up for their protection plan, stay away from that too... it may seem like a small fee, but their services are very expensive and you will end up losing more. read more

We were members of the Home service club for quite a few years. The workmen are all competent at their trades. The carpenter we used was excellent at repairing the damaged floor that had resulted from another contractor's botched installation. Due to his great service, we signed up for the service club. I found that when we called Pronto Plumbing, the plumbers were attempting to up-sell us. One plumber from Secco told me our air conditioner was no good, that oil heat was a dying industry, and that we should get a heat pump which would take care of both needs. Only $10,000.00! Going on 4 years later the air conditioner is still working just fine. Our last experience with Pronto was very bad. The plumber came out on Friday night to inspect and hopefully repair what seemed to be a clogged pipe going to our septic tank. The plumber said "I can't get my equipment down through that toilet and there are three 90 degree curves in the pipe, so we'll have to dig up the lines outside to find out what is going on. That will cost a minimum of $4,000.00 but could go as high as $8,000.00." We initially agreed to get work done, but called other plumbers and got another plumber to come out. They found the access valve right next to one of the 90 degree turns in the pipe, opened it and cleared the blockage in 45 minutes. It cost $267.00. We had been charged $100.00 for the false diagnosis by Pronto, and the special member after hours service rate of $133.00 for no results. I spoke to a manager at Secco and he did refund me half of the money for the no service time of their plumber. The manager was polite and said he sought to keep us as we were such good customers. I feel more like we were fools. I pointed out copper piping that a Secco plumber said needed replaced to other plumber, he said, "There's nothing wrong with those pipes, they don't need replaced." In my opinion, if you want something that's not broken "fixed" then these are the guys for you! read more

NO MORE!! I've been a customer for almost 18 years. Most of the time I've had good service but that has changed. I got talked into the contract with the promise of 15% off and reduced after hours rate and accumulation of points. But the last time they were at my house, they didn't do the work they usually do and I didn't get any kind of bill. I had to ask for normal routine work to be done and parts to be provided that had been routine before this and don't even know what it cost me. So I called and asked about the contract. I had points accumulated and asked what happens with that $150 dollars if I cancel my contract. She said "It goes away." I said, "So you keep my money?" She said, "It goes away." I said, "So you keep MY MONEY!" You have 6 months to use it up or THEY KEEP YOUR ACCUMULATED MONEY IF YOU CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT. I'm so mad and I feel so stupid because I figure they wrote that into the contract and I signed it! DON'T SIGN UP FOR THE CONTRACT and question everything they do if you use them at all. But there are many honest, reputable companies out there to use....find one of them. read more

This place is a fraud. Had HVAC issues and I was a customer several years prior, so I figured I would call them since I did not have any problems before. What a mistake! I understood the typical walk thru the door fee, but I did not realize that I would be left with a $330 bill just for a 5 minute assessment in which not a thing was done to fix my problem. Oh, my issue was my system was 'overcharged' meaning too much freon, the tech said. Ok, what causes that? The tech insisted someone had to add it. I insisted no one has ever touched my system, but them. They looked at my "records" (which requires a secret meeting in the truck with the main office) and then he advised, they never added freon. What a mystery then, because neither did anyone else. The tech was forceful that is the only way an overcharge happens. Well then, can't be that because I was not lying! He then says for $285 he can put some sort of diagnostic equipment on the system to see what it is. Well he was gone 5 minutes and came back and said, "yep it's over charged". Now I just wasted $285 bucks, no turning back now, how much to remove the freon? Got some speech about my unit is old and there is an EPA fee for removal, blah blah....around $600. He goes off for another secret meeting in the truck, "talked to the office, it will be $900 for the removal", he said with no explanation why $300 was just added on. Then the sales pitch..."the system is old, should consider a replacement", ok, "how much?" I asked. He tells me $4,000 - $6,000, but he says he has to check with the office. What a surprise, his estimates suddenly changed from $11,000 to $18,000 for a basic residential heat pump/ac replacement. But wait, if I commit at that moment, I would get a $25 Secco gift card. Well then Secco, that makes all the difference...where do I sign?! What a joke, they should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Very much felt taken advantage of. Also, called to verify the pricing was correct and spoke with Nat (I believe that was his name). He said he would review it an call me back. Had a second Mr. Slim air-powered heat pump installed in the bedroom zone of our house by Secco. They did the job in one day, very clean and fast work. This is the second time Secco has installed one of these units (the first was for our main house area) and we are always pleased with their professionalism. The Mr. Slim's save us money on both heating and air conditioning and are used around the world. We found Secco at the Home Show at the Farm Show when they were demonstrating the units. read more

We were highly overcharged when the company first came out to fix our plumping issue. 45 days later we had to call them to come back out to fix their own plumbing job, at which point we were told there would be no charge due to this being their fault. FOUR MONTHS LATER, they charged our credit card without notice for $79.00. When we contacted them about this, they said the charge was for them coming out o fix their mistake!!! Middle of Feb and our brand new HVAC syst failed in the house we just purchased in June. We called Secco and they told us everything except for the truth. They told us the syst is not new and everything was done improperly. Well what do we know, these guys are the "professionals", we trusted them. They quoted us an enormous amount to redo the entire syst, They never even offered to charge up the syst to at least get heat in house temporarily. We called two other companies and both of them told us the same thing, syst has a small leak, needs fixed and recharged. $225, done. Thinking of using Secco, think again. read more

I do not recommend this company to ANYONE! They do the quick bait & switch scam! They are out to get your money and their prices are ridiculous, and are unwilling to even contact me about my refund or to apologize for the unprofessional 3rd visit. Not to mention problem is still not fixed a month later... My AC unit flooded, and since I had a coupon, I called Secco. They came on Aug 9th, told me that the unit needed to be flushed and a condensation overflow switch installed. I was told the condensation switch would prevent future flooding. I was charged $433 even after the coupon was applied (not sure how that worked). I needed my unit fixed so I paid the money. 2 weeks later, my unit was still leaking. The same technician arrived and said that there was a crack that he didn't see before, and needed a new drip pan ($840). I became suspicious since the crack was in the same area he installed the switch. I don't have the money now, said I'd have to call to schedule it, and asked for a refund for the switch since that wasn't the problem, and was told to contact the office. A different technician came out to remove the switch, and said to contact the GM for the refund info. It is now a month later, and after repeated attempts, I have not gotten my AC fixed, a refund, NOR a call back from SECCO. read more
