This is an amazing all inclusive resort that does not require the use of a bracelet. We (husband) came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Great food and service! The views are wonderful. If your looking for a great destination to relax this is it! We have two kids under the age of 10 and once a year we spend a week together as a couple. We are always in search of a beautiful and relaxing resort. This place allows you to find that much needed relaxation. There are great restaurants like 8ish in total- great seafood and plenty of other great choices. The activities are great too. The beach is clear! You can kayak, snorkle etc (you will see fish, sting rays, turtles) and items are provided at no additional cost. They even have a club! If your looking to unwine I recommend an oceanfront room with a swimout and a jacuzzi...we stayed in bldg 1- they have a dedicated concierge (ours was Karen)! You cant go wrong as the service is great and the grounds are well kept. This place is amazing!!! We spent 6 days and just arrived this past Saturday. The staff are so nice! You will be treated like royalty. The preferred lounge offers great snacks and Miguel makes some great drinks. 5 stars and I'm hard to please!!! One last thing.. there is a pool area that is quiet and another pool area where activities take place.. this gives you options. Safety: we felt very safe. I had the pleasure of attending a work meeting at this resort earlier this month. I stayed at the resort for seven days and from check-in to check-out it was an amazing experience. While the food, facilities and resort was gorgeous, the real reason this resort gets a 5-star review is because of the employees/service. They are literally there to meet your every single need and/or wish and it's nearly impossible to take more than 10 steps on the property and not see someone that works at the resort! Friendly and helpful service mean so much today, especially when you are in a very touristy area and that is about the only thing that differentiates between one place and the next. My room was beautiful and while I loved the large tub, decor and lights, who goes to a beach resort to hang out in the room?! The beach was simply amazing. I appreciated its cleanliness even more after I walked down the public beach to a few other resort areas and noticed the difference. Plus, there is a great snorkeling area easily accessible from the resort (sea turtle marine reserve). The man and I are both pretty experienced snorkelers and while we weren't impressed with the coral, we were hopeful we would see some turtles and other marine life. With most of my week being occupied with meetings, I didn't have a lot of time to snorkel, so the one time we did, we didn't see much. Although I had several other people telling me about many things they did see - so I think we just needed to give it another try, which we just didn't have time for. The food was also pretty amazing. We ate at the Japanese/Sushi, French and Italian restaurants, as well as the buffet (for lunch and breakfast) and the casual grill for dinner and lunch. Being from Texas, we didn't even try the Mexican restaurant, but we really enjoyed the Japanese, French and Italian places. The servers were always prompt to take your food and drink orders, but sometimes it did take awhile to actually get your food brought out. I kept reminding myself that while I was there for work, most people are there for leisure/vacation and probably didn't mind the wait. My only major complaint was that there weren't always able to handle large parties of people at restaurants. Or, if they did, it was a LONG wait. Again, I realize this is a resort for vacationers and most of these people are probably couples, but I did notice groups of couples and other larger parties of people that were there together, so they most likely ran into the same issues as we did. Other than that, the service and food were really exceptional. One really cool thing about the resort is their app and wifi service throughout the resort that allows you to send/receive texts and phone calls thru their network instead of using your cell phone plan. read more

Me and my wife were very excited to try this new place out and for the most part we weren't disappointed. The place is about an hour from Cancun airport which we expected and getting there was not a problem at all. Upon arrival we were blown away at how huge the resort was as previous resorts we have visited have all been smaller in size. Now to the issues. When we got there, our room was not ready and had to wait a couple of hours before we could get settled in. We were encouraged to go to lunch when all we really wanted to do was rest and order room service. So that wasn't a pleasant experience as we have never had to wait 2-3 hours once to get into our rooms. We got there around 1 and didn't get into our rooms till after 3pm. Our room was very nice and looked great but we had ants on our counters and floor upon arrival. We never have had to deal with that as well, but was at least happy to see bug spray in the room that was provided by the hotel so that at least lets me know they know this is a issue as well. The mosquitoes were a problem which I guess couldn't be helped because we are in the middle and around jungle in Akumal but they could have done better to combat the issue. We noticed there were bug lights around room doors on the first floor of buildings but considering the issue it simply wasn't enough. Our housekeeping staff was hit or miss as well. Some days they would come at reasonable hours and other times they would come extremely late which caused us to have to plan our showers and such to make sure people didn't just walk in. Some highlights were that we stayed in the preferred room and one of the staff members Jean was always helpful and consistent. For reference we stayed in building 6 and he works right around there. Saul was also helpful but my guess is he is extremely busy as we barely saw him at the desk when we passed daily. The food was good, the entertainment was good and the beach was excellent. We loved the opportunity to be able to take part in snorkeling that the resort offered. Other than that the staff was very helpful and polite and we would recommend going back as long as the bug problem was being tended to as the bites my wife received added to her discomfort with the trip overall. They did provide bug spray but other methods must be employed in my opinion. Other than that again, it was a good experience with a good staff and would recommend people checking it out. read more

Hidden along the coast of riviera maya, Secrets Akumal was the perfect spot for our annual winter family getaway. It is about an hour and 20 minute drive from Cancun airport, without any traffic. Upon arrival we were greeted by name with fresh, scented towels and led through a quick check in process. There was an attempt to schedule a time-share sales meeting in which the staff was receptive to our lack of interest. We were given a helpful overview of the property (it is massive) and led to our room. All the rooms our party booked were spacious and luxurious. They featured an oversized jetted jacuzzi hot tub, multi-fixtured shower and a large HD TV (which we rarely used). The resort property itself felt much more lush and natural than others we have stayed at with beautiful landscaping and water features throughout. It is easy to get lost when winding throughout all the different pools. We spent most of our time outside by the pool bar in the heated pool while also making time to snorkel. The water visibility is quite poor even a hundred or so feet out. However, we managed to see a massive spotted eagle ray, 5-6 large turtles and multiple sting rays. The quality in liquor between the bars differed slightly but all served brand name bottles with Grey goose, Belvedere and Don Julio making appearances. The service all around was consistently excellent. The staff went out of there way to be friendly. Pool staff including Ivan consistently helped move 4-5 chairs and umbrellas to keep our party together and shaded near the pool. Rene was an entertaining and awesome host/dealer of the Texas holdem game near the pool. We were all satisfied food-wise. Coming from San Francisco and being picky food-wise I was super happy to find that the food, especially dinner, not only tasted good, but the staff took time to elegantly plate it as well. Out of the past 4 all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at, I'd come back here first. read more

If I go it a review higher than 5 stars I would. This is an elite resort. It's higher than a star rating system. Its a diamond level. This is not a hotel its a resort. You come here to relax, not check in and be gone all day away from the resort everyday from start to finish. This is an adults only resort. Its quite expensive and worth it. Its plush, upscale and secure. The resort staff cater to your every need. The staff are bilingual. I've only stayed at this particular Secrets resort. I will be returning next year. It was truly relaxing. It truly is all inclusive unlimited luxury. No detail is left out. The resort is high priced because they offer everything and the highest quality. They offer all the chartered tours you need to see all the beautiful historical sites. We had a swim out hotel room. It was perfect for an a late night swim. At first, I honestly was not overly impressed with this resort. First, the place is more expensive than most. I kind of expected "more". There in lies the problem. What was my definition of "more". For me, it was Daniel at the Japanese restaurant. He went above and beyond to fill what would be a simple request in the states but almost Herculean in Mexico. My daughter wanted a chocolate milkshake. To my surprise no one at this resort had ever even heard of this. So I was sent from place to place saying they would have it. Eventually I arrived at the Japanese restaurant and was again told no. Even by Daniel. But a few minutes late she tracked us down wandering the resort and did something amazing. He asked how to make one. He asked us to wait at the Coco Cafe and he would be right back. A few minutes later he arrived with his version of the chocolate milkshake. It wasn't perfect. A little thin. But the effort he put into it was much appreciated. I found my "more". The service we received from Daniel made this a five star experience. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Secrets Akumal from July 9-13 while attending a friend's wedding. I will not be reviewing any of the wedding details here, so my review is purely from a typical guest's standpoint. --Grounds: This place is spotless. Everything was beautiful and impeccably well-maintained. The pools were very clean and it was rare that we saw any finished food trays or drink glasses around, so the maintenance staff is really on top of their game. --Pools: 3 pools, each with its own "theme": a quiet pool, a party pool (with swim up bar) and a regular pool. We had no problem finding good seating at any of the 3 pools and we were all able to find loungers together, which was great for our large group of 10-15 people. --Beach and snorkeling: The beach was beautiful! I LOVED that you could go get your snorkeling gear without having to join a tour. We went out in the ocean and I saw at least 4 huge sea turtles having their lunch, along with a ray and some enormous fish! --Food: A wide variety of food choices. The bar food at the pool was great! The Market Cafe breakfast buffet is AMAZING. The Mexican restaurant was --ironically-- our least favorite. At the restaurants, your glass is never empty! I definitely do not recommend giving in to the (rather aggressive) upselling on the wines. Service in all restaurants was very good. That said, the food was not as good as at Paradisus. Also, none of the restaurants were able to accommodate our whole party. We had 12 people and even when we called ahead, we were told that they would have to split us up. We really didn't understand why they would seat 10 of us, but absolutely refused to allow us to squeeze in 2 more, when there was definitely room at the table both times. --Dress code: It was VERY hot and most of the restaurants require long pants for men. My boyfriend did not anticipate that they would need long pants and collared shirts, so he ended up wearing the same pair of pants every night for dinner and running back and forth to the room to change before and after dinner. If he had not brought his jeans, he wouldn't have been allowed to go to any of them! In the buffet building, men can't wear sleeveless shirts, but women can wear a bathing suit as long as it has a coverup over it, which isn't very fair, either. --Room service: Relatively quick and very good food. --Entertainment: There was a lot to do here, which was nice, and also a lot of different types of seating, so our large group didn't have a problem hanging out together. Things wind down around 12:00-1:00, so there isn't a huge nightlife scene, but that is ok because we were getting up pretty early to enjoy the day. --Service: Staff were kind, attentive and made you feel at home. One comment: Unlike many other all-inclusive, giving the servers good tips doesn't seem to increase the quality of service. We felt that the service could have been stepped up a bit considering we were taking good care of our servers. There are concierges to help you in every building and the phones all have speed dial and the staff on the other end are very helpful. --Bars: There were many and the quality was consistent. However, you had to ask for double strength drinks, as they were quite weak. Also, the beer was never actually cold and the beer variety was tiny so if you are a beer aficionado, you may want to find a different drink of choice for the week. --Room: . The large Jacuzzi tub was nice and worked well. WARNING: My friend got her hair caught in the jets and had she not been able to turn them off with her foot, she could have drowned! Pull your hair back if you are planning on using the Jacuzzi. There is really no privacy at all; there is a curtain separating the Jacuzzi from the bedroom, so if anyone is changing or showering, you can see EVERYTHING. The door on the bathroom doesn't really serve a purpose, since you can see through the area with the curtain. The shower door isn't frosted, so you are completely exposed, too. Worst of all, the toilet door is frosted glass and even though you can't be seen, you can be heard and you have no feeling of privacy while using the toilet. We also felt that the room was pretty loud. We could hear the people next door at times, could hear doors slam, could hear room service carts, and whenever the people above us flushed the toilet or used the tub, we could hear the pipes draining. Note: The TV is a smart TV, which is cool. You can use the internet and access schedules, etc. on it. Channel 14 is a straight-up porn station and seems to be a running joke between guests and staff. We thought this was pretty funny. --Wifi and Connectivity: Definitely download the app on your phone; you can access the daily schedule and order anything you need from housekeeping. Excellent wifi connectivity throughout the entire resort. Overall, we had a great time and would consider a Secrets property for future vacations. read more

This is the best resort I have ever been to!!!!! Everything you need is at the resort (restaurants, spa, water activities, lounges and more). We came here on a girls trip for a bachelorette party and from the moment we got here everyone has been so kind. Our point of contact is Karen and she helped set up the bachelorette party details via email and when we got here, she has been showing us around, catering to our every need and making sure the bride is happy. She even had the bride's room decorated, with floor to ceiling decorations, special drinks, a cupcake bar, pictures of the bride and groom and she and her team made even made two penis cakes for the party, with cake molds we provided. Never in my life have I been treated as well as Karen and her team have made me feel. I am amazed at how thoughtful every detail has been. Karen even showed up to our restaurant last night to make sure the bride had everything she wanted. This is our first time in Mexico and thus far it has been the best. Also, our building concierge Angelica is the sweetest. Next time I am bringing the significant other and having a romantic getaway here! Thank you Karen for everything!!!! read more

It is a scam and the Secrets Resorts ought to be ashamed of themselves for allowing this type of "salesmanship" to occur. We had a great time. Food was a B+. Desserts were so .. so. The beach was amazing. We could snorkel anytime, which was AMAZING ! Personal service here made us want to come back. The snorkel equipment assistant Conrad was very helpful. We learned to paddle board with Scarlet Maria who was funny and full of energy. We took yoga classes in the morning with Larry on the beach. Our bike ride into town with Jonas and Horacio was a lot of fun and also very safe. We did all these activities - which were included in our stay. read more

Had my honeymoon here November 16-23. Positives: 1.) The room and the resort were absolutely beautiful. There were moments it was literally taking my breath away. 2.) The food was excellent, incredible for a resort -- especially French, Italian, and Mexican. Bordeaux, the French restaurant, was particularly out of this world. Get the escargot appetizer and the beef filet there. It was amazing! 3.) It is literally right on the beach. Amazing. 4.) There are a lot of friendly staff members always around and willing to help. Some of the requests took a while -- some process is still being ironed out operationally, I think, but it was good that most people there tried so hard to help and were so friendly. Negatives: 1.) There is no real gym or spa until at least mid-December. There were two treadmills, a rowing machine, a few mats, and a bike in a single room that was not well-ventilated. I was told there would be a fully-stocked fitness center, and as someone who runs 5x/week, I was hoping for more. 2.) The vacation club presentation was pitched as 90 minutes and took over 180 minutes. The vacation club manager was also pretty pushy at the end of the presentation. I would not recommend attending, despite the free incentives offered. 3.) It was my birthday, and they forgot my husband's order for breakfast in bed. The concierge didn't do anything else for the day, either, which was disappointing. I would've even been happy with a coupon or gift certificate or something. They did give the breakfast the next day, but still. Something?! Anything?! 4.) I got over 40 mosquito bites and now some of them are infected, a week later. I highly recommend asking for your room to be sprayed; not wearing perfume; and applying bug repellant repeatedly throughout the day. read more

we stayed here for 5 days this January. I loved the resort so I feel bad giving it less stars! beautiful, new and clean but a few complaints! staff was very nice and accommodating. we were exhausted when we arrived and they pushed us to go to some raffle the next morning we couldn't say no because they were so pushy. We didn't even care about the raffle....since they wouldn't let us say no so we said okay sign us up. We decided to not go to the presentation, we did not want to buy a time share and we had a limited time on vacation. No offense we don't want to spend hours of our vacation listening to a pitch about buying a time share. So they called our room and woke us up at 7am to go to the damn raffle/presentation. That stinks it was our vacation and they woke us to harass us about the raffle/presentation. Also all of the restaurants were not open. They rotated which we were not notified of or we would have planned our meals differently. It's false advertising so make sure that all of the restaurants are open when you go! the mosquitos are terrible!! they provide bug spray but should spray the area or something! If I could give a million stars I would. I was so nervous because I've never done an all inclusive resort and I'm super picky about reviews but holy cow! This resort was amazing. I took my family for my moms birthday. The staff was amazing, pools= amazing, rooms =amazing. The food was mostly amazing like 9.99999/10 only because some of the meats were mostly fat but everything else was amazing. Ugh I'm already dying to go back. 3 nights was not enough. We stayed at Secrets Akumal the first week of August 2016 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Pros: The place is very beautiful, and love that it's nice and new. We stayed in a preferred room with a swim out and loved how nice it was to walk off our balcony into the pool. We loved the various food choices including various restaurants as well as 24 hour room service. They even have a really cool secrets "box" you can use for delivery and pick up of room service without being disturbed. We loved that it never seemed crowded. We loved being able to walk right out and snorkel and were able to see so many wonderful fish and turtles. Amazing! We also enjoyed visiting the spa and getting massages. It was also nice to have nightly entertainment (shows and games). Cons: They are still working out some kinks....many items need tlc (like where it is new and they can't seem to get things working quick enough to accommodate the guests)...our door wouldn't work when we first checked in and that took a couple of hours to fix, then the toilet in our room wouldn't flush so they sent someone to fix, but he ended up having to remove the entire toilet and was working on it in the Jacuzzi tub. I called management in fear that this was going to be how the rest of the week would go, but he would not move us to a different room. He did offer to send housekeeping back to clean up and concierge brought a bottle of wine. I noticed pencil writing on the ceramic tile in the bathroom (which should be clean), and water dripped on my head in a couple of the restaurant's, so we had to move seats. Most of the staff is unable to speak anything except for their native language of Spanish, so that made communicating a little difficult. The secret's box is such a wonderful idea, however, it seemed no one on staff seemed to have a clue what it was or how to use it. It didn't seem to matter that we had our "red light" (do not disturb) on, they ALWAYS would knock on our door and try and try to come in. We would have to always open the door and tell them to please put it in the box...always. Then many times they would call our room?? It often ended up being more of a disturbance to use, than it was worth. (but, it could be such a good thing) The last thing I would mention is I was totally unprepared to tip all throughout the week....and that is something that is expected here. I have gone on cruises and stayed at Sandals, and have never had to carry cash and worry with tipping. (it is handled at the end of the week on a credit card) I rarely have cash and did not come prepared to give tips. Don't get me wrong, I love to show my appreciation and tip people, but it made me feel terrible (and not do some things because I knew I couldn't offer a tip) because I didn't come prepared ahead of time with cash. Overall, this is a wonderful resort and I would recommend and certainly come back. I am staying at this resort right now and will be here till Wednesday. Feb 14th-20th) I am staying in room 9130. This is my third year staying here. I will write a longer review upon my return home. I am hoping the management will listen to me and do something about this!! It is very deceptive and misleading to say you have HEATED SWIMOUT pools. This is NOT TRUE at all. I have requested from at least five representatives ( including Cristian, the wonderful concierge). Each person I gave a substantial tip to ($200 in total). Everyone said they will get to "looking into it". Someone finally told me the REAL truth. The new management do not care about heating the swim outs. They were never going to get mine heated. This is really a big disappointment. And I specifically came here ( and spent a hefty sum of about $10,000--yes, that's right) to have the swim out experience. MY first year, under a different manager, was so awesome and the swim out was heated and such a beautiful experience. I could have gotten a gorgeous room with an ocean view--but no-- I chose a swim out. I feel very ripped off and didn't get what I came here for. And asking the staff endless times is not what I wish for ---but it is the main reason I selected this was FOR THE HEATED SWIMOUT. You are misrepresenting yourselves. Unless you are listening to my request and trying to "fix the problem", I will definitely tell my friends not to come to your property and I will never come back again. PS. THANK GOD FOR SECRETS. THANK GOD FOR UNLIMITED VACATION CLUB. After a terrible groping incident at Hard Rock Riviera Maya, Hubby and I literally got in a cab and sped down to Secrets Akumal without any reservations, hoping to find a room. When we entered the facilities, were immaculate! The staff greeted us with " Welcome Home...".. and we were immediately given champagne and given a great room for a great price. We are unlimited vacation club members and have been to breathless Punta cana, Secrets the Vine, and Secrets Maroma. We upgraded out vacation club package while there and got an upgrade to an ocean front master suite that was gorgeous! The service by the pool, and the restaurants, and room are AMAZING. They always respond with " It's a pleasure". They have a-la carte breakfast at seaside for preferred guests or market place has a breakfast buffet which is quite similar to those decadent brunches from MIami. The quality of the food is excellent. They have plenty of activities everyday, and special drinks and shows everyday. We even requested a lobster dinner at the room, and they did it for us 24 hour notice, free of charge, and it was a delicious huge lobster tail! I cannot say enough good things about Secrets, as the amenities, ( PEVONIA spa is amazing!) the service, the food the rooms are fantastic, and it is only a year old! Cannot wait to explore more of the AMRESORTS properties. Gilda and Juan at the VIP service are excellent! This is the type of all inclusive you get a vacation club membership at. We did 4 years ago.. and we are thrilled we did so! ( And we stay in places usually like four seasons, St regis, Ritz carlton.. and in may at the AMANs) If you want an all inclusive experience, go to these brands! read more

I have to say, I was a little apprehensive about going to Mexico with all of the things you hear from the media but all of the changed once we arrived at Secrets Akumal. I have to say that our entire experience was amazing. Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne from Jesus, very welcoming! We were lucky enough to stay in the Ocean View room with the swim out pool from our room (Rm 2103). The man that provided our turn down service was super nice and accommodating (forgot his name, we stayed August 5-10). The pool is shared with maybe 4 other rooms but we were the only ones that used it. We spent our nights after dinner and the disco on our patio and ended with a swim. Never once did I feel unsafe. Some of our absolute favorites were Alex- Alejandro (Pool concierge ) and Eric (beach concierge ) and our beach server Ruben! Alberto and Juan at the Pool Bar were also great, . They really took great care of us! We met many nice servers at the Seaside Grille that greeted us each day, ones whose name was Victor was really nice. The workers connect with you and make you feel special. One downfall is that the pool bar closed around 5/6 (can't remember). As for eating out- they have a variety of restaurants. The portions are smaller than usual but it is all inclusive so with an appetizer and dessert, it's enough- this was our first all inclusive in a long time. Ignasasius, a server at Portofino was great! We explored Tulum on an excursion with the ATVs and swimming in the cavern. That was nice experience. We did not leave the resort for any other reason- we didn't feel the need. WE did want to go to Chichen Itza, but really did not want to take the 2+ hour bus ride, next time we will. The beach is beautiful and there are sea turtles! You can rent the snorkel equipment and go with an instructor, but we brought our own gear- which I recommend and did it whenever we wanted (you don't really need the fins).I would definitely recommend this hotel at this location . This resort advertises as adults only. While the resort itself is, the beach is open to everyone - it's a public beach. It gets very crowded with families. Anyone can set up a beach blanket, cooler, radio, sand toys, etc and spend the day. Absolutely not adults only! No kids in the restaurants, but let's face it, more than half the day is spent at the beach. The very crowded, loud, chaotic beach. Definitely not relaxing. I am here now. Secrets. Akumal. Oceana service was perfecto. i mean the service is perfect. the Seafood for a guy that has ate at el Carmello y la barracuda tulum was horrible at Secrets Akumal...they should be embarrassed...it was 2 day old pescado, pulpo, camarones, at best. i have been around seafood / fishing my whole life. I know. just saying, try Another place for seafood. the 1.5 oz wine pours were insulting at best. UPDATE: Breakfast buffet at Market Place was amazing. going to try it for dinner. Service remains amazing and well managed. possible 4 stars if dinner is good. UPDATE2: Lunch was awesome at market place. I think Oceana was having a bad night. wine pours are normal everywhere else and the lunch food was amazing at Market Place Buffett. Raising to 4 stars. Service still remains top notch. Update3: Dinner was very good. Market Place is muy bueno. Closed for dinner tomorrow, so upgrading to 5 stars for now :) read more

Decent but not the best mainly because of the service. Staff at one restaurant complained to our group about guests being rude - Including guests in our party. When, we left a $10 tip and none of us were rude at all. Then, I left two expensive bathing suites in the room and called 24 hours after checking out only to be told the maid, Sara, threw them away. We came here for a wedding, and although the facilities are beautiful and the staff is friendly, it is incredibly disorganized. Upon arrival, we went to the check in desk and the lady helping us took our luggage tags and told us to go see the concierge at building 9c. We went to 9c, and had to wait about 20 minutes for the concierge to show up. At this point we were already dripping sweat due to the heat and humidity. She came and told us that they were confused and to go back to the lobby. We went back to the lobby and someone else told us our room wasn't ready yet. We had also booked the anniversary package for ourselves since we are celebrating our own anniversary this trip, and the front lobby told us we needed to arrange for this with the concierge once we had our room number. So we had to first wait over an hour in the heat until our room was ready. Then there was confusion about where our luggage was because the first check in person had taken the tag. Several people came and asked for our name and told us to wait, then no one ever came back. So we had to ask what to do and they told us our luggage was on its way to the room. After we got our room number we in fact had to go to 9b, not 9c like we were told. So then at building 9b we couldn't find the concierge desk. Someone saw us looking and called the concierge and took us to the concierge desk and told us to wait there for her. We waited again in the heat, and she finally came and told us that we were in the wrong place. Then she told us we didn't even reach the minimum night stay for the anniversary package, despite what the website said, but that there was another concierge in the main lobby who could help us in case we were wrong. We didn't really care at this point due to the heat and it wasn't worth it anyway for the "fresh fruit, champagne" etc that were supposedly included. So we just went to our room, and low and behold, the anniversary package was set up anyway all along despite being told otherwise from multiple staff members. We looked for water, and there was none in the room. Then the luggage person showed up and we asked him if he knew where to get water, and he told us in our mini bar, which was empty. He called room service to have them restock it, but we brought our own reusable water bottles to be more eco friendly, and asked him if there was anywhere that we could go to refill them. He was really confused and said he'd never gotten that question before, made a phone call, and told us that in the entire hotel, we could only get water out of bottles. What an ecological nightmare. Then when I went into our bathroom, there was a box with cotton balls, and when I opened it it was full of used cotton balls covered in old makeup. So gross. This place is disorganized and complicated, and the details are overlooked. They also have shows and events late into the night with loud speaker systems in the courtyards and in the building below our room, so be prepared to bring earplugs if you have any plans to sleep at all. read more
