He quotes a fee on the phone that sky rockets in place. A quote of 95 ended as a bill of 175.00. Sure we asked for a second lock that took another 5 minutes to open, and that is worth another 80.00? And to make a key 25.00? Well, After some thoughts, I may have been a little harsh and some of the frustration may be due to miss communication and lack of understanding. In my book when I ask some one to open a door because I lost a key I would have assumed that the locksmith will open the door and provide a replacement key else how would I open the door after he left, His comments is that the key making is a separate job, not related to the opening of the lock. - So it is left to interpretation. read more

We had two jobs that we needed a locksmith. Found Kai on yelp and decided to give him a try. I called and spoke with him and schedule an appointment for the next day (Sunday!). Our front door lock was turning along with the key and we needed it set back to the correct position and fixed in place. He completed this part of the job very quickly, and even checked the swing of the door and made a recommendation on the hinges. It is a heavy double door and the house has shifted so the alignment is a little off. The second part of the job, which I thought might be easier, was actually much more challenging. An office cabinet had become locked, but not all the drawers just the top drawer. He worked on it for quite a while and eventually was able to open it. Turns out the lock mechanism had sheared off AND the locking rod was bent. He did manage to open the drawer and took out the locking mechanism and turned around the catches on all the drawers so they couldn't lock again. Kai is prompt, friendly and efficient.
