Go there and check this place out! Kent is one of the most up-and-up guys around. Got my Viper installed there a few months back. Kent went through all of the options (and there are a lot!) as well as pricing and basically trying to understand what you, as the customer, want/need in your system... and then recommending the system that gives you the best bang for your buck, based on your wants/needs. He's a straight-shooter... as many people in other reviews will attest to, he doesn't pitch you on things you don't need or try to upsell you everything on his pricelist. In fact, quite the opposite - he'll tell you which things aren't the best deal and explain why he typically wouldn't recommend them. He simply provides the knowledge and expertise to help you make the most informed decision possible. At the end of it all, I did spend more than I originally budgeted. I got the Viper alarm w/ remote start w/ SmartStart (mobile app) and w/ GPS. I have not been so pleased going OVER BUDGET on a large expense before. And I couldn't be happier with the system. There's a reason this place was voted as #1 in Hawaii. I stopped by after work, around 4:30, just to check out the prices of some of the recievers because I wanted to get something in the future. Kent was extremely helpful and explained the differences in all of the products they carried by what I was looking for. He literally broke it down Barney style for me. They ended up having an opening to do an install right before they closed so I jumped on it. They knocked everything out in about half an hour. It was past closing time by the time everything was finished but Kent stayed around to walk me through each and every control and setting. On top of that he recoded my Viper alarm for me so it locks automatically when I forget to do it myself. They told they werent able to give out the info bc i wasnt a car audio dealer. Appointment was at 12 noon, dropped car off an hour earlier because I had another appointment next door as well. They told me that it would be ready for pick up at 530 pm. This place is amazing. I have a 2002 Toyota Solara and a CD got stuck in the original CD player. I removed the old CD player with cassette attached and bought a new one. Sadly, I decided to buy the new one from Walmart. The radio quality with the original Toyota deck was great and this one has far less quality, even though its Sony. I needed an adapter to connect the wires from my car to the new CD deck, and Walmart carried several different ones except the one I needed. I called Security & Sound and Kent checked their stock and they had what I needed. I rushed down there the next day and bought it, and Kent mentioned since they tried the adapter for another car but it was the wrong one, the bag was opened so he gave it to me for a discount. Great customer service.....but after an hour of wrestling with all the connections and having a friend check it out, it still wouldn't work. I went back to S&S and eventually the employees realized what happened. The specific wires were moved to different locations so after the employee (sorry, forgot his name) helping me put the wires back in the correct spots, the radio worked! After I drove home I finished putting everything into place and putting the dashboard back on. Security & Sound also sells CD players, dash dvd players, speakers and subwoofers. If I could change time, I would definitely buy a CD player from S&S instead. Even though its a bit more, I could tell they carry quality products. Their selection of speakers is also amazing. They have different sizes/shapes to fit any trunk or truck cab. While I was there, a customer actually pulled his car in to their shop area and Kent brought out 4 different subs. The customer tried each one and narrowed it down then Kent suggested 2 or 3 other ones. Great products, great customer service and a convenient location. Overall, this is my go-to shop anytime I have audio or alarm needs. read more

I had them installed rear view camera for my 2002 Chevy avalanche. They had camera in stock so I did not have to wait too many days for the installation. They were very friendly and professional. Had my car alarm installed with them a few years ago, which had been working well without issue until my automatic door lock stopped locking after setting my alarm. Drove over after work one day and the owner had his team take a quick look at it. From the start Kent explained to me what alarm systems were available and the specifics of each and the compatibility of the features, add-on sensors, and the pros/cons, etc. We even did a quick walk around my vehicle just so that I'll know where the components were going to be installed. This should be a big zero! Initially when they installed my tracker and alarm 5hey were a 5 star because they let me come down the same day and explained more things about the tracker and alarm then I knew ! Then when the fricken alarm sound didn't work we went down and they were busy so we tried to reschedule and the times they had available we were busy and vice versa.. then only 2 months after we finally got the schedules to work and they treated my husband their customer like he's an idiot. Word of advice on customer service, explain to your customers in laymen terms. Further we're still your customer regardless. Not my fault your alarm crapped out on us. All we do is press buttons to lock and unlock the damn thing! I decided to follow that purchase up with a new audio system for my 2017 4Runner. With everything there is to choose from out there, Kent the owner, helped to put what I was looking for into perspective and within my budget. I wanted/needed Apple Car Play. This is definitely something I can't live without being I spend so much time on the road. Kent introduced me to "wireless" ACP and I settled on an Alpine Double Din. I love my music and at times like to listen to it LOUD!!! Well, loud is good but, if it sounds bad then you can always pound your stock sounds. Not for me.....I opted to go with JL Audios C5 components for the front and their C5 Coax for the rear tailgate. Just a side note (I was looking to change components both in the front and rear doors.) Kent persuaded me to shut off the speakers in my doors and to change out the ones in the tailgate. Best decision ever!!! We rounded out my stereo with a JL 900W 5 channel amp and JL box for my sub. These guys are #1 on Yelp for a reason. They are easy to work with, friendly, do fantastic work and they won't rip you off.
