Southpoint Self-Storage makes storing your stuff easy!!! My girlfriend and I were going out of town for a bit and we wanted to put our things in storage. We looked around at some different options and then I gave Southpoint a call. Over the phone I discovered that the first month is free REGARDLESS of how long you store your stuff there. Most storage companies that offer 1st month free deals require that you stay at least 6 or 12 months.Since we didn't need storage for much more than a month and a half, this seemed too good to be true! We drove over to the site located behind the Cow Palace and as we pulled up we saw a Southpoint Self-Storage truck parked in their lot. On the side of the truck it read something like, "Use our truck for free to move in!" We inquired inside the office, and as long as you have full coverage on your insurance policy, you can reserve the truck for your move in date... for FREE!!! That saved us like $80 on Uhaul fees! We ended up getting a unit larger than we needed, and paid a prorated rate for the 10 extra days. I think our no strings attached payment for the initial month and a half of storage was like $25 bucks (including the lock)! I candidly asked the staff how they can afford to offer such a great deal, and they simply said, "On some people we lose money, and on some people we make money." I was really impressed by their professionalism and "realness." The staff were really helpful through the whole process and really clear. The facility is fairly new, in good condition, clean and secure. Based upon the facility, the staff, the regular rates and the great deals, I recommend Southpoint to both short and long term renters who need a safe, clean space in SF to store their belongings! read more

I moved out of my apartment 3 years ago and I didn't have a space for my other stuff. I was not comfortable putting my items in storage coz I didn't think it is safe. Very good prices (compared to units in SF) yet very convenient if you live near 101. Staff was very professional and helpful, and I particularly like the fact that you have to enter your personal code at the entrance gate or else an alarm will sound if someone opens your particular unit. No admin fee to sign up and basic insurance is decent for a small extra cost. Very pleased. read more

This place is awesome! It is the first storage unit I have rented and I am very happy here. The facility only looks a few years old, everything is clean and spotless. My friend rents there so I checked it out and it is amazing what you get for the price: 1. a very clean building and air conditioned storage space with elevators, 2. security gate and individually alarmed unit, 3. a married couple who manage the storage units and LIVE on site! 4. great discounts for moving in, 5. use of the on-site Uhaul truck (for a $15 charge) for the whole day for the first 30 days of move in, 6. convenient location by the Cow palace in a "new" looking subdivision. What I like best is that when I do visit the storage, I can take Alemany to Geneva to Carter, less than 15 minute drive avoiding 101, great when my pick-up truck is piled high with boxes of crap I can't live without but don't want in my house. I come and go now all the time to visit my crap -- there and back home in less than an hour. ps. the couple is super friendly and make it super easy to rent. read more

When I moved back to my hometown of Daly City after living in San Jose for 6 years I had acquired so much stuff I had to find a storage unit to rent. This storage facility is conveniently located on the other side of Guadalupe Canyon from where I live. The access hours are great for whenever I decide to rummage through my things. In my opinion, the most appealing thing about this facility is that it's clean and indoors. That almost sounds like an oxymoron: indoor storage facility that's clean! I love how the lights have timers in the hallways - green thinking! They even pump R&B music throughout the facility that I catch myself dancing/singing too whenever I'm there. I'm sure the staff has seen me too since there's security cameras all around! Speaking of the staff, they're very nice everytime I go to pay my monthly bill. Their offices close at 6pm so I don't feel rushed after work to make my payment. I'm extremely pleased with Security Public Storage and plan on staying here for as long as I need a storage unit. read more

We have had a very positive experience at this storage facility. The building is very clean and secure. In addition, the staff is super helpful. We lost the key to our lock, and the manager (after verifying our identity of course) took care of removing the old lock very efficiently and at no charge. Decided on this place because of the location, right off Geneva which is right off the freeway. Got the special 1/2 off monthly rent for first 3 months. Quite a savings. The facility is very clean and for the number of units it has, never feels busy. Maybe that's my schedule. We have a unit that necessitates using the elevator. Again, almost never a wait for the elevator, and when in use is quite speedy. Did get trapped in it once but managed to get out without calling for help. I like that it is climate controlled and that the managers are on the premises full time. Regular office type hours though. Only complaint is the hours it is open are 6am to 9pm. But, in reality, have never felt a need to go there beyond those times, so not really a shortcoming, The reason for taking away a star is the cost is expensive once the special is up. Although, the reason is is that we took one of the largest units. Gets what ya pay for. Not sure guys in the large moving van we will require to move out will be too excited about access to the units. Tight corner getting into the loading zone. I'm sure it's been done before though. read more
