RATS AVOID AT ALL COST! Based off the most recent review below we were not the only ones dealing with RAT INFESTATION! We made several visits throughout the time we used the storage and never saw rats when we would take items out. When we were ready to move everything out and we started moving our stuff there were rats everywhere! They chewed all of our new appliances, left poo all over our belongings. We put a claim in and they said we would get $400! not even enough to cover our clothes damaged. When i told the onsite manager he said well just clean them and use them they still work. I went online to check the hours of operation because it was Memorial Day and didn't want to drive all that way for no reason. The website said the access gate hours and then said the facility itself was closed. I assumed that I would still be able to access my unit because the gate hours didn't say closed. When I got there (I've always had difficulty with my code) I tried to enter my code and it wasn't working. The gate started opening so I figured my code finally worked. When I got to my unit I was approached by a man that did not even come up to me and speak to me like a human being but was told to lock my stuff and get the f*** out. If he would've came to me as an adult and informed me that there was an error and that they were closed to the public I would've totally understood. The way he approached me and talked to me was extremely unacceptable and rude. There is a way to talk to people and communicate and that was not it. I would not recommend this place at all! I went to retrieve my belongings from my unit and everything was covered in rat feces. They have rat traps set along all the entrances and by the units but the place smells of urine and fecal matter. Staff is extremely rude and not helpful at all. I came here as a quick last minute choice because I needed to place my items in storage. For the price they charge per unit you'd think they would put some of the funds towards pest control. I had to discard a lot of my things because of the rat feces and urination that was on my items. You pay less than or around the same price to just go to public storage or somewhere else that is sanitary and well up kept. I'm not sure why there aren't more reviews about the rat infestation but it is very much infested and covered in rat dropping and urine. Save yourself the time and hassle and go to a reputable company. They don't even deserve 1 star. In response the the "business owner" it wasn't unnecessary because I retrieved all of my belongings and refused to keep my items with you guys for another day longer. I had absolutely no perishables in my unit what so ever. When I spoke to Chris in Huntington he told me that your whole facility is infested because of a local dirty bar behind the business. I had boxes with clothes, two beds, and bikes/scooters. Absolutely no food at all. Your facility is just dirty and infested. If it weren't, then you wouldn't have rat traps laid out all over the property. If customer service was your "top priority" I wouldn't have called about your onsite manager telling me to lock up get my shit and get the fuck out. Like I told everyone that I spoke to that works at your place of business, there is a way to communicate with people and a way to get your point across without being rude and disrespectful. I will not be back so no need to look forward to servicing me in the future because after reading all your responses to every other customer that left a 1 star review your instant reaction is to tell the customer they must've done something wrong or they were the cause for the issues they had at your facility. Terrible customer service. I entered at the same time as another customer. I asked if my husband can complete the sign up so I can leave. She said no. Then I asked if we can expedite the process because I'm pregnant (very visible) and needed to leave. She irritated that the other ppl walked in first. I reiterated that I understand that but could she expedite the process. She then got an attitude and took her sweet time. She went over the rules with the other customer and I listened in so she wouldn't have to repeat it but it didn't help the situation. My issue is that when a customer is having a concern or issue and clearly express the issue due to a physical limitationsThis is unacceptable. First and last time I would spend my money here. We were guaranteed this was the cleanest storage with high security. However when we went back a month later we noticed our mattress had holes in it. We told them and they told us it was just nice, apologized, and said they would set a trap. Nothing else was done. We went back a month later and our fridge was ruined. The one thing I liked about this location is that I was able to rent a truck and leave my car there. It was safe and secure. The gate does not close until 8pm on the weekends, so that really helped me out. The return was super easy. I just parked the truck and left the keys in it! I paid $132.48 and they charge my Credit Card an additional $19.22 for mileage. I thought they were priced reasonably. One thing about this location is: they have great marketing incentives and awesome promotional items for their customers. Great place to store your things. As far as making uhaul reservations here DONT DO IT! Twice they messed up my order. The first time they took my reservation but never input it into the system came to get my truck it wasnt there. The second time i made double sure i got a conformation email and number and everything written down. AND AGAIN I GOT NOT FREAKEN TRUCK! Great storage facility! No hidden fees, clean space, terrific customer service. I just moved to SoCal from NYC and had to ship some of my things; they were to arrive in CA before I would. I called other storage facilities but they would not accept a delivery on my behalf, even if I paid up front and signed all the necessary documents. Well maybe the storage part of it is good, but my experience was with a truck rental. I made the reservation on-line on the U-haul site. I ordered a pick up truck and someone called me to confirm but did not tell me it would only be available until 1PM because I needed it until the next day which I am sure I specified on the order. So, they gave me the only truck they had available which was too big for what I needed it for. I only needed it so I could drop off my car at a shop for repairs and I could not rent a car because the deposits are too much. Then, the website said the fee for mileage was .59 then when I got there they said on the weekends its .99 per mile. I put gas back in to where it was when I took it and they charged me for 4.5 gallons that was missing! I dropped the truck off last night so I did not see the bill until today in an email. It is Sunday and they are now closed, so I have to call them tomorrow to discuss this issue. read more
