The first phone call was easy. We got all set up over the phone. When we packed we realized we were going to need a larger unit I called the morning of and Jim answered the phone. He took my info because they were working with a line of people inside the office. We went ahead and loaded up and headed over there hoping they had a bigger unit for us. When we walked in they k ew who I was and were working on the larger unit. Thankfully they had one! The facility is very clean and secure. The rates are reasonable and Jim's service was excellent. Always very helpful when I call and they actually pick up the phone. On occasion I have to leave a message, but they call back promptly. The rates tend to go up automatically, but if you call and inquire about it, they will get approval for a price reduction for the upcoming months. If we could give them a zero star's we would, on top of all the stress with moving this company who supposedly represents uhaul are putting them to shame. We picked up the uhaul after inspection the back it was dirty with stains and gravel, I advised the gentleman that help us out. He clearly stated not to worry about it. Specifically asked him are you sure cause we did not want to get charged for something we didn't do supposedly he was going to make a note in my account. Clearly he wasn't paying attention to all the dirt I was showing him, cause he was too busy staring at my sister big breast to the point of making it very uncomfortable for my sister. We left and the following day we dropped it off, the one lady (Caucasian) who was there and inspected the uhaul comes back inside and states with an attitude that she has to charge me a cleaning fee I asked her for what? She stated the truck was dirty, I advised her that we picked up the truck that way, the gentleman with the beard told us it was fine and we would not be charged. She didn't care and didn't want to hear it she was still going to charge. Very rude and unprofessional in front of another person who was there making faces as well not knowing that was my husband waiting for me. So I told her to show me what she was talking about, once again I tried to explain to her we received the truck that way her response was did you take a picture I told her no cause the guy told us we would be fine. After she continued to be unpleasant saying we where getting charged being unprofessional I went inside the truck attempting to pick up the dirt she claimed we left in there and she still continued to say it didn't matter. I grabbed one of the blankets we returned that was in the truck and she told me to not F use their blankets. And if I was crazy and to get the F out of the truck. That's when I told her I will be back since I wasn't supposed to bring the truck back until the following day. Went to the local gas station and wiped out the truck, upon returning the very nice (Hispanic lady ) who was there the day before immediately apologized stating she knew about the truck being dirty cause she overheard the conversation when we picked it up and kept apologizing for the inconvenience. The lady that was unprofessional didn't say a word not sorry nothing at all, she was more concerned about the person (my husband) who had asked her some questions. I had heard from other people not to go to these places that represent uhaul, reason why cause they always want to ripped you off. They over charged me for gas by over 4 gallons. I even paid more gas than what i used. Still waiting for our check from this fine establishment. Not only is the storage unsafe but they make you pay monthly insurance...then the insurance company flakes and does not respond to calls. All in all this was a shit show from the time we were broken into and they did not notify us. We were told that 6-7 units were broken into around the same our unit was. Also beware that they park boats and RV's and block security cameras. If your belongings matter to you do not use this place. We found another place near HWY 111 and it is night and day. read more

this company used to be very good. Clean. Helpful. Now they don't care about their customers. I have an air-conditioned unit that the air-conditioning has not worked for awhile. They say they are waiting for parts. Can't tell me when it will be working again. And when I asked for compensation for my unit being extremely hot, they told me they basically do not stand behind their contract agreement . No compensation, and no answers as to when it will be working. My items will just bake in their unite. Also, they have not cleaned up the sand around the unit, it looks like the Sahara desert around the units and it shows no sign of attempted clean up. Do not use this storage unit! read more

SAFETY WARNING! LADIES, STAY AWAY! Tommy at Security Public Storage knew I was going to be traveling hundreds and miles and still gave me a broken U-Haul truck. I rented a 10 footer for a business project in El Centro and Brawley and had already loaded up the truck and gotten on the freeway when the check engine light came on. The engine sounded AWFUL and I wasn't convinced that the truck was going to make it to El Centro. The mechanic that I was with didn't think so either. Had to go back, unload the truck, go back to Security Public Storage where Alan acted like he was doing me favor by giving me a bigger truck (That I didn't need and was going to use more gas) and not charging me for the miles that I had already driven. Because I had to unload and reload and go get a working truck, I got a late start, the project took me two days/two trips to El Centro and Brawley instead of one, and I had to pay double the miles. While I was getting a truck that (I hoped) worked, Alan admitted to me that there was a catalytic converter issue with the first truck that they loaned to me. Then he said it was working fine for him. I asked him if he took it on the freeway and he admitted that he did not. I also asked him if he could change the time that I rented the truck to the new rental time and he refused. (He said there was nothing he could do, but we all know that's Bee Ess.) I do not recommend. At all. General Manager is an expert in ridicule, disrespect and humiliation of customers especially when and audience (her staff and customers) is present; including her employees. I returned a U-Haul truck when I first arrived to California in June and things were great. This time, when I walked to purchase 15 boxes the general manager 'Shea' recognized me and said in a demeaning voice "I remember you... you're the nasty guy that left a dirty a** f'n truck..." I responded with "excuse me ma'am?!" She responda with "yeah, I had to clean that truck and it was nasty. You're nasty...." I was extremely embarrassed. I never received a phone call or an extra charge. They inspected the truck after returning it and nothing was said than. Her employees chuckled and laughed. As a retired Veteran of the US Army, I felt extremely disrespected.
