Be careful with this place. When I signed up, I thought they put me on auto payment with the card I gave them. It was not set up that way which still should have been ok. I just received a late notice in the mail stating I was past due and incurred a $15 late fee. I took the letter to the office and asked them to wave the fee being that they misspelled my address and this was the first communication I have received from them since signing up. The employee told me she would not remove the late fee since they sent other letters, emails and calls. I immediately went rough my entire email folder including the junk filter and only came up with their monthly newsletter which proved they had my email address correct. No other emails from them. I went through my entire call list and deleted voicemails. Not a thing from them. I told them if they refused to remove the fee, I would move out right then and there. She said, OK - do you want to pay your last bill? WOW! I wasn't worth keeping for $15? I moved everything out and when I returned to the office to confirm I had cleared everything out, I noticed another worker going through a stack of unsealed envelops and placing calls on speakerphone but then hanging up after the 1st ring. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I wondered if anyone assuming they are on autopay ever end up losing their stored belongings to auctions and come back to huge unpaid bills with multiple late fees, maybe even attorney fees. That thought really bothers me. I'm just glad I was a little more proactive than most people would be. I hope your experience here is not like mine or worse. read more

Alan, the manager at the facility, bent over backwards to see that I was a happy and satisfied customer. I moved back to the desert a couple of months ago from LA. I called a ton of other places to see what prices were what was available...the works. I met with a ton of other places...but non as nice as Security Public Storage. I've worked in Marketing and Customer Service for years, and this place has the most knowledgeable staff as well as nicest personalities. Everyone is greeted with a smile, and there are really no issues. If you have a questions about the unit, they will give you the answer. If they don't know, they will find out. Though my storage unit is filled while I wait for my condo to finish, I'm thinking I will get another small unit after I move to store random stuff. I recommend Security Public Storage to anyone looking for reasonable prices and amazing staff. 5 stars in my book. read more

I will say, I thought all storage facilities were the same but man was I wrong. This place is like the Hampton Inn of storage facilities, very clean, safe, and last but not least fun. I had the worst experience with this place!! They charged me for the original use of truck but then I had 3 more transaction come out 3 days later for $105, $47 and $47. I called them and David told me he couldn't do anything about it. I called corporate and finally called WF my bank,. We put a claim on the transactions so I thought was done. That Sat I get a notification on my phone that I have a truck out and if I don't bring it in they will have to take action with police. I called and they said there computer was out but now they found truck. I told them how unhappy I was a about the other transactions. I thought I had blocked them from using my card again, but this morning, Tuesday I woke up to another transaction for $58. I had to make another claim with bank and cancel card and get a new one which is always a hassle! I called corporate again and she said this is your finally payment, I screamed WHAT, you already got the original 68$ on the 26th. It's been taken out of my acct. She kept insisting in was on hold. The whole thing was such a mess and so stressful. I am busy with move and work and don't have time to spend getting this straighten out. I would never use Uhaul again at least in this Palm Desert, Riverside area. Terrible experience!! read more

I am writing this review only because this facility continues to misrepresent the security it provides to it's customers. READ CAREFULLY THIS REVIEW IN ORDER TO PREVENT WHAT HAPPENED TO US AT Security Public Storage FROM HAPPENING TO YOU. We had been renting at this location for about two years off and on and earlier this year we rented another cold storage 10'x20' three doors down the hall from our other unit. Within three months the unit was broken into and the break in was not discovered by a staff member until over a week later. The intruder climbed up and over the door and unscrewed the lock from inside the unit opened the door and walked out with over $12K worth of guitars and other valuables, including personal family mementos. If you can believe it, the intruder's personal items were found in the unit indicating they most likely occupied the unit up to seven days prior to the discovery of the break. (By the way the facility states in it's contract fine print that units can not contain property value greater than $5K without the facility owner's written permission. Conveniently no one ever brought this up as an important point in the contract to be initialed by the new renter.) Actually, I spoke with a senior staff member about the break in and I was informed that even though we were assured the facility had a 100% break-in free safety record when we first began renting with SPS, the facility had been broken into repeatedly starting a few months before our break in. I asked why the tenants were not informed about this "recent spat" (it wasn't recent or a spat) of break ins and I was informed by the staff member that "it was not their call to make." The same day I was notified of the break-in I contacted Palm Desert Police and met them at the site of our breached unit to file a police report. Clearly contradicting the facility's claims the officer informed me that facility has had numerous break-ins - in fact there were twenty two reported break-ins in the five months prior to our break-in. They are all in public record at the sheriff's office. The officer candidly said to me that he would never store store any of his belongings at this facility, or for that matter, any other public storage facility. The same day we were waiting for the officer to arrive SPS facility members arrived at our unit and "secured"our unit by replacing the breached lock with the exact same lock that was easily removed during the break in. When we observed this in person we vacated the unit the same day! We are currently exploring legal options against SPS because of their fraudulent misrepresentation of their facility's security. In the meantime we discovered that the facility did not have real time individual unit alarms. Our unit was broken into and only discovered breached by an employee walking by more than a week after the break in! Also, the numerous cameras on the property actually do not work well, the critical ones to our unit surrounding the T building actually had very poor resolution and did not have even a single recording of our units breach, or the fact that an individual potentially reentered the property repeatedly over a seven day period! By the way the contract the facility has all tenants sign explicitly state in the fine print that "Security devices installed at the property are deemed to be solely for the protection and convenience of the Owner." And you probably thought, as I did, and as their promotional information claims, that the cameras are there to protect our units from theft. And by the way, we discovered an access point on the property where a potential intruder can easily enter the property. The staff was aware of it at the time of our break in and nothing was done about it at the time. Without getting into numerous other findings, the bottom line is SPS is not a safe place for you to store your belongings and the their promotions wholly and knowingly misrepresent how secure their facility is. Don't believe it. I like Jaclyn and the staff at SPS. They are all dedicated employees and really good people, but they are clearly employed by an unscrupulous owner. read more

I used a U-Haul truck to move from a storage facility down the street to this location. It worked fine for me. When I arrived at the storage facility they were expecting me and had everything all set up. I was able to transfer the contents of 3 other storage bins into one space at Security Public Storage. I'm saving money each month now. Still have too much "STUFF" I never use or look at. My new goal is to condense again into a smaller space. SPS has a good variety of different size storage units. read more

We had to move very short notice from Anaheim to the Coachella valley and had 2 days to find an affordable storage since we didn't know how long it would take us to find a home in the valley. I called plenty of places in order to compare the prices of a 10x10 and this place turned out to be the best offer with a discount for the first two months at that time. Once we arrived to the place with our moving truck we found out there was a different size a available( can't remember but either a 6x19 or 8x16) with a discount for 4 months and cheaper than the 10x10 we were looking for. So of course they showed it to us first. The space was very long and high so we went ahead and rented that space, unpacked right after we signed and got our code. Everything fit perfectly! It was such a great deal and the place was very clean, other than being dusty but what can you expect in the desert with constant dust storms! We only used it for about 1.5 months and it was so simple to cancel our space too, helped us out a lot with our stressful last minute move. read more

Matt, supposed business owner, I find your 3/31response to my previous post comical, because I asked Jaclyn, the supposed Manager, for the name of the owner, and she did not give me your name, but rather Ben Isler, and ironically Jaclyn did not have a contact number for him. So you saying on your post that you are the business owner is either not true, or Jaclyn was lying to me, either way it's not professional or appropriate. Also in your post you said that the staff discovered our unit had been broken into on their regular walk arounds, which is not true either, we were never notified of a breakin by the staff, not by a walk around or an alarm going off in our unit, I notified them. When I asked Jaclyn why an alarm had not gone off in our unit, which there should have been, Jaclyn said there was probably a technical issue, which just happens from time to time. My husband and I went to our storage unit 3/16 to put some chairs in it, and discovered our lock was gone, and half of our belongings were stolen, that's how we discovered it. So although your walk around statement sounds wonderful, in our case is not true at all. Now maybe the other 6 or 7 breakins you had in February were discovered that way, I doubt it, but ours was not. You should not be claiming you are the business owner if you are not, and you should not lie about how we discovered our unit had been broken into. By the way, Jaclyn said the surveillance tapes should be reviewed in a couple of weeks, and its been longer than that now, and I have not heard one word from her or the office. Very Convenient! Right off of I-10 at Washington. The inside space being rented has easy access making it very convenient to check on items being stored. I have also used the U-Haul trucks available at this location, making it handy for all your moving needs as well. The staff is helpful, professional and very accommodating to your needs. I give it an A+. The only suggestion I have is possibly giving a discount to long term renters. read more

This is my second time around renting at Security Public Storage and my first time renting from their U-Haul franchise. I came back because I was pleased with the location, the hours, the customer service and the ease of getting in and out of the storage itself. Nothing has changed, except perhaps the customer service is even better. The staff spent the time needed to make sure I had the correct sized trailer for my rental and made sure I was out the door in time to get on the road to my destination. Both the storage and U-Haul aspects of Security are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a smooth moving experience. read more

Very helpful and very efficient.. As I have a seasonal business, and also have had rental units, I have had up to 5 units going at one time. So while I have checked out the competition, this place offers easy access to the storage units, a great management team, and price performance that keeps me coming back. read more
