Charles is a very helpful property manager. I called him for information and when I went to the facility, he was there greeting me by name. this is in sharp contrast to another facility I called, reached someone on an 800 number and when I called back the actual location I was going to go to, it was a completely different person that had no idea who I was or what I was talking about. Charles was very concerned about me getting just the right amount of space and was very helpful in getting us squared away once we arrived. The facility is very very clean and well lit and the area seems safe. Parking spots dedicated to dropping your items off. Another reason Hayes Valley is a wonderful neighborhood - access to this storage facility. We all know SF apartments can be a little tight on space, so when it came to stashing some extra belongings that I need to hold onto but rarely use (I'm looking at you, folding table!) I did my homework on the storage options in SF. In the end, I chose Security Public Storage because I felt very confident that my belongings would be safe. The tradeoff for limited hours is that their is staff present to monitor activity and answer any questions. All the staff there is very kind and they take extra care to ensure the parking spaces outside remain open for customers. Charles definitely keeps a thumb on the pulse of the area and has become a terrific neighborhood personality. I've kept my possessions at this facility of over two years now and I am consistently impressed with the quality of the customer service. Charles, the manager, helped me to find the perfect space that could fit the amount of boxes I had. This place is secured, clean, and very well managed. I recommend it to any one that needs to storage anything, from a short period of time to a long length of time. Payments can be set for an auto payment,so you don't have to worry to remember to pay on time. You have access to your online account, and make changes and arrangements very easily. Walking into this storage you would feel very safe and confidant that your belongings are in wonderful hands. Your own access code would allow you to open the main gate, and would late them know you are inside the storage. Cameras are all around watching who is going in and out. They provide tape, boxes, dollies, and hand trucks and it's a fairly easy process to reserve a space. The security of the facility made me feel very safe knowing my belongings are supervised 24/7. This place is impressive! I had this pre-determined idea of what a public storage was and therefore prepared myself to have a grim experience between dealing with a move and dealing with storing all my stuff. I am so glad to have been proven so wrong! From the moment you walk in to Security Public Storage in Hayes Valley, a pleasant fragrance welcomes you... Yeah yeah, why does that matter, but I really like things that smell good, so brownie points on that. Then you meet Charles, and the rest is history. Ok fine, I will explain a bit more. Charles makes you feel like you a renting a very nice apartment in the best part of town, and he wants you to be happy in this apartment and feel that you are dealing with a place that cares about you. I know this sounds strange, but it made all the difference to me, and even though this was the first place on a list of places to check out, I decided right away and asked where I could sign (apparently you sign later when you move in, but you get the point). The move went great, everything fit into my awesome little room, and I feel super confident that my personal things are stored utterly safe (and comfortable) in a clean, fragrant place with amazing personal service! read more

This is the first storage place I rent from that will help you out when your due date is due to Hardship. When I first went in the the staff was very helpful. The staff at Security Public Storage were absolutely wonderful...Especially Charles! After being displaced from my apartment due to a fire, the American Red Cross referred me to Security Public Storage because they offer discounts to victims helped by the Red Cross . Charles was able to assist me through a physically and emotionally draining situation with great ease. The staff helped me select a unit based on list of my salvaged items, and provided me a list of all packing supplies I would need along with prices to provide to Red Cross(since Red Cross provided me financial assistance due to the fire). Additionally, I needed a referral for moving all the items from the apartment and Charles provided a great recommendation. I just moved in today and a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. We've been renting from Security Public Storage for about 5 months. The customer service rep was very helpful and friendly. The place is clean, feels secure, and is well lit. There are always dollies and elevators when we need them. There is enough traffic in the building to make you feel safe (other folks storing things) but not overly crowded. I've been a "tenant" of Security Public Storage for nearly ten years. In all my dealings with them, I have been incredibly impressed. The facility is spotless... I mean, spotless. The hallways are clean and bright, it's well-lit and the units not only roomy, but with high ceilings that will accommodate more stuff. The location is perfect: central to everything (even Muni) and I have never had a problem with street parking or loading/unloading. The things I have kept in storage -- valued furniture, books, important files -- are dust-free, clean and dry. In fact, going into one unit recently (I have a couple), I realized that I hadn't been in the unit in over five years; everything was as ship-shape as if I had loaded it yesterday. The customer service is without parallel. They do their work very fast, so you are in and out quickly; I like that they value my time. I have been helped by both Charles and Nicholas; they have always been prompt to reply, very polite and unfailingly helpful. Recently, Charles helped me find a unit nearby to one I already had that saved me a lot of moving pain; he didn't need to go to the trouble, but he did. He also went the extra degree of advising me that Muni was down and how to best get there from my house; this saved me a lot of time and unnecessary effort! I know I can always count on them to be available, helpful and professional; it feels more like like a concierge service than a storage facility! read more

I cannot recommend SPS SF highly enough. They absolutely deserve their 5 star rating. SPS SF the most immaculate storage facility that I have ever seen. The three people who manage it are beyond lovely and highly professional. They run a tight ship. An added bonus; they are located on a great block and I have never had a problem with parking. I have experienced many self-storage places and this is by far the nicest and I feel assured that my things will always be safe and mildew free. Run don't walk. Spaces here go quickly. read more
