    Avocado Toast
    Courtney B.

My husband and I were so disappointed with this place! It was our first time trying it, and unfortunately, it was not a great experience. We each got a coffee, and we also ordered avocado toast which is pictured. We were honestly shocked that this was brought out of the kitchen. Since we got everything to go, we didn't open the container before leaving because we didn't think we needed to check it. We couldn't eat the avocado because it was no where near ripe. Which is why I assume the serving was so small as well. My coffee was also pretty bad, I couldn't even drink it. I couldn't tell if the coffee was burnt or if the creamer they used was expired, but something definitely tasted off. It was the "After Hours" under their signature menu. I also overheard another customer ask them to remake their coffee order. Overall, it was pretty disappointing because the place itself is so cute, and the owner who took our order was incredibly nice. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, the food and coffee were a fail and not worth what we paid at all. Take this as a warning to double check your avocado toast before leaving or taking a bite.

Amazing new coffee café only open for 3 months. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, modern flair, lots of open space and windows with the ability to open up into the outside where several beautiful seating areas outside with lots of plants. Warm and inviting service. They were very friendly and professional and also engaging. There are a few very interesting items on the menu, sandwiches, drinks, etc. The lattes were amazing! I will definitely come back. I can't wait for the weather to cool down so I can sit outside and enjoy a great drink and some food.

Double espresso + brown sugar syrup

Really nice and modern coffee shop with tons of seating areas, including two separate indoor areas and multiple places to sit outside on the patio. Staff were very friendly. Espresso with brown sugar syrup was delicious! They make the syrups in house. Parking is a little difficult as they don't have a formal parking lot. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

We were recommended to come check out this new coffee shop in town that's recently opened. My initial impression arriving is that the entrance is a bit confusing. The door in the front said to use the back entrance so we followed the path around and walked into what was their overflow seating and that was not where you actually order. You have to walk across the gravel path through their outdoor patio and it is in an old barn. I will say the sprawled out patio spaces were very chic and nice (if it wasn't 95 degrees outside I would've loved to enjoy that space ) Parking also is very tight space to get through and around. Once we got to the right spot, we ordered our coffees and I got a sandwich with sourdough. I was curious to see if it was homemade. It had fig jam, Brie cheese and turkey with a pinch of mixed greens over what looked like homemade sourdough. The side of sweet potato chips were a plus! The bread was absolutely fantastic! My only feedback on this was it needed at LEAST one more slice of turkey. The fact that I got one thin piece of turkey was a bit disappointing so I do hope they consider adding more to this sandwich because it really needed it to offset the sweetness from the jam, or even a piece of bacon for the salty fatty element to really round out the sandwich. I still enjoyed it because it tasted fresh and had good flavors. I parked over at the couch and finished up on some work until they closed. O'rien (I'm sorry if I botched your name) was so friendly and gave me the back story of how Seene coffee shop came about and assisted me with getting set up with the wifi. Nice staff, good ambiance, good coffee. :)

We're already looking forward to coming back to try the house-made, artisanal gelato, wood-fired pizza, deli sandwiches, and sfogliatellas. I got the Woodstock drip coffee (I let the barista pick based on my preference for low acidity coffee), the Turkey C sandwich, my son got the banana bread and a PSL, my daughter's got a chai and blueberry muffins. My kids loved their treats and drinks, admittedly they are an easy audience. I enjoyed my coffee, as hoped for it was smooth a law acid, despite drinking it black. The sandwich was absolutely outstanding. Bacon was thick and smoky, the roll had just the right "squish" and "chewiness" of a good hard roll, and it wasn't greasy or sloppy at all, which is exactly why I picked it. The Mediterranean salad was not quite what I expected, I thought it would involve black olives and feta cheese, but it had neither, and I appreciated that it was different and not too oily. The food prices feel a touch high but if you look at the quality of the food, and their use of premium ingredients, it is reasonable for what you get. Staff was friendly and good came out fast. There is a long table for bigger groups and small tables for up to four to sit. In general, Summerville has been mostly misses for me on food, but I like Coastal Coffee and would return if I was in the area and wanting a bite or a brew. J.Ja

We ordered the chai latte, cold brew with caramel and oat milk, and a slice of earl grey carrot cake. We added sweet coconut cold foam to both drinks. I was astonished to pay $19 for those 2 drinks and another $8 for a very small slice of cake. Chai latte- Found it to be okay...nothing super special about it. Cold brew- It reminded me of this specific sesame grain drink with barely any coffee taste. Could not finish. Carrot cake- It was moist and the frosting was good. No part of it tasted like earl grey imo. I would skip on the sweet coconut cold foam as it barely provides sweetness to your drink, which in turn, is not worth the additional cost. Overall, it was a nice place to cool down and the atmosphere was alright. The interior is aesthetic and well designed. Coffee is not really special and cake is good. Wallet may shed a tear.

What's better than a piping hot cup of fresh Joe, or... for those who defy the norm, iced coffee?…read more I can think of many things and being a former comedian, I'll refrain from stating. However, what tires my bones to the core is the inauthenticity of people that have taken over coffee culture; with their man-buns, little lap tops writing "the next great American novel," forearmed tattooed and blue haired activist that... Oh sorry, I got off topic a bit, shades of living in Austin TX. That said, I see the environment at Biggby set up to cater to those people, yet the new gen hippy takeover hasn't started. No, what I see from this dainty coffee bar are inviting pastel-colored walls, light toned wood chairs and tables, crayon inspired specials written on the windows and where ever along with their merch being pushed dead in front. It's an ok vibe in here and the people are simple, thus my whole rant about generation 3.14 isn't applicable here. As for the staff they're great and receptive of what you want to drink as well as giving suggestions. I got there when a lot of younger staff were working so I tried to spark up a conversation. Specifically, if she's tried Kopi Luwak (google it) and if she liked it. She had no idea what I was talking about so I switched to Taylor Swift, to which the conversation picked up. Concern for this generation resonated in my head, but hey at least we were talking, and she didn't ask to chat via snap chat! I kid... I kid. The staff here are very nice and they were playing 80s music (see how I dated myself?) which "I can name that song in three notes" and did. While I'm a medium roast coffee kind of guy and I like my coffee like the women I date; hot, sweet and blonde. I vary my selection by what I'm in the mood for, sometimes latte, sometimes hot or iced, sometimes mocha, you get the drift; and yes I'm talking about coffee (get your mind out of the gutter). But what I do appreciate is creativity in a beverage and a joint with the courage to put a creation on their menu. When I read the Butter bear latte stood out and I knew that was what I wanted. The butterscotch punched me in the mouth as a "you've never met someone like me before" love tap. The caramel snuck up from behind and smoothed out the experience while the coffee kept the band playing nice together. Scanning their menu, Biggby does commit to giving something different a real go and I applaud them for it. In summary, Biggby grinds their beans to order and this really enhances the quality of their coffee. Add to that they create an environment where one can feel safe while sitting inside or just stopping by with enthusiastic employees and it's a recipe for success. While I didn't sample their "edibles" (how's my parking?) they looked wonderful. To finish, the employees are great people, the ambiance is fun and the coffee is great. Stop by if you want something good to pick yourself up or rub elbows with a future leader of America.
