Picked out all our favorites in a custom box. The one pound box ended up being 1.25 pounds and it was packed with delicious chocolatey goodness. Current pricing is $35.50/pound so ours came out to $44.38. My favorites are Rum nougat, Peanut nougat, Almond nougat (all the nougats) and Mayfair. My husband loves Milk and Dark California Brittle, Cashew Brittle (all the brittles) and Scotchmallow. They were featuring a special Dark Coffee Scotchmallow for May so got a couple of those too. See's Candies also make a great gift so I recently got the 2 pound box ($63) for my brother's family. One thing that's not widely advertised is when the staff offers you a free chocolate, you can actually ask for a specific chocolate instead and they'll give it to you. Wow!! I never knew this See's Candies location existed! Like seriously - been visiting this plaza way back when - back when there was a Staples where the Whole Foods is now, and used to be a regular at the Barnes & Noble next door. Only noticed this spot because I was picking up my Amazon package at the Whole Foods next door. The only other See's in the area I frequent is the one at South Coast Plaza - so definitely happy to discover this one that is much closer than me. One of the gals told me they've been here for almost 20 years! First day of October, and they have all their wonderful Halloween treats up! I had to snap some photos of course - normally I wouldn't, since most people know what inside of a See's looks like - but I really like how organized and clean this store has their display. I was greeted right away by the super friendly clerk. I didn't catch her name - I don't think she's the one that's on my receipt though since the cashier was a different gal (Ashlee P according to my receipt) - but both clerks were friendly! I turned down their sample since it looked like it had nuts in it - not allergic or anything - I just prefer my chocolate to be smooth. Zero'd in on a small custom box of Milk Chocolate Butterscotch Squares. These really hit the spot for me. Probably my all-time favorite candy to get at See's. Total for about ten pieces was a little over $15 - comes in a nice little box that they seal on-site. It's really not that much when you consider the quality, the freshness - you can taste the freshness in each bite. You can get a custom blend of your favorite flavor(s) - and See's was started in California. Awesome customer service, great parking (the lot never really gets full), super cool Halloween-themed gifts - will definitely visit more often now that I know they are here! read more

THE BEST SEE's CANDIES LOCATION !! I had the sweetest experience at See's Candy thanks to Lisa S., who was working on Thursday night. From the moment my mom and I walked in, she greeted us with the biggest, warmest smile and immediately asked what we were looking for. She made us feel SO welcome! Lisa offered us samples and talked us through different options - not in a pushy way, but in a genuinely caring, friendly way. Her energy and kindness were incredible, and it honestly made the whole visit feel special. We ended up leaving with $90 worth of chocolates LOL. Lisa is truly the BEST salesperson See's could ask for. At other locations, the staff often just hand out samples without much interaction, but Lisa went above and beyond. It is after all the season for it and we see that this See's Candies store is ready. The lovely missus has a list of her favorites. One on the list was unfortunately not available... but fear not, there are so many more of the Chocolat goodies to pick and choose from. Natasha offered a sample of a nut crunch caramel on chocolate and it was a winner. She then helped the missus with a large custom mix. I am picking out 6 of the Halloween Bat Lollypop tins for a surprise gift. The store is ready for much more decorative boxes and goodies. I've never been to a See's candy but this was definitely an experience! Located right next to the whole foods, this spot has all your chocolate needs. Walking inside, the first thing I noticed was all the prepacked chocolate on the left side. On the right was a counter that had a display of about 100 pieces of different chocolates, each chocolate with a short description of what was inside. We had a 1lb certificate and the lady at the counter advised us to pick our own chocolate box instead of doing a prepacked box. LETS GO!! I've had See's candy before and there are those pieces that you get that aren't my favorite.. however picking each piece was a game changer. You know the saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." NOT THIS TIME. I DO KNOW WHAT IM GONNA GET. lol. I have been coming to sees candies different locations since I was a little kid. My mom was a huge advocate and would buy gift certificates for decades. I have a soft spot in my heart for sees candies and love the flavors. Today, I bought some box chocolates as gifts, and the cashier placed them in the bag on its side edge, instead of laying them flat as they are supposed to be. I googled to see if that was OK, and Google said that it would shuffle around the chocolates and that is not acceptable to me. I am disappointed in the senior lady that packed the boxes in that fashion. This is the first time I have had less than a stellar experience at sees candies. read more

I feel this month there is a new freedom in where we are going. After reading Curious George goes to a Chocolate Factory during nightly story time (one too many times), I set up a special field trip to See's Candies in the Bella Terra shopping center in Huntington Beach. First off, the free sample is a pleasant treat. Thank you, See's. That makes me feel appreciated. It's one of the things I look forward to when visiting your store! Surprisingly, there were types of See's Candies that I have not tried. Or it's been so long I forgot... That's a possibility. At any rate, these are good! Try the Bordeaux. The caramel patties are a crowd favorite. Then you need to get a Scotchmellow. It's soft and sweet! Okay, okay...We don't really "need" chocolate, but it's pretty close! Another positive point is that the people here are so friendly! There's great customer service here! I mean it makes sense. It might be difficult to be in a bad mood when you are surrounded by such an assortment of chocolates! I like that the company says they focus on quality. See's used to be an exciting place to go and you'd look forward to the yummy sample and now 9/10 staff members at this location do not greet you with a hello or smile and many don't offer a sample-you have to ask for it. The magic is gone. Been going here since childhood and that was a LONG time ago. The prices went up massively like everything but they had already raised prices this calendar year and when I went in last month to buy little chocolate bars in the shape of bears they went up .25 cents each. I know what's .25 cents anymore but it truly is disheartening to constantly get poor customer service everywhere these days while paying significantly more money. People don't care to work, help others or smile at strangers. It likely has to do with the location because people in this general area carry themselves like they are better than others sadly so. :( read more

I think there are Hershey/Russell Stover people and there are Cadbury/See's people. I belong to the latter. Now, there's nothing wrong with the first group. In fact, I have even visited the Hershey, PA and had a great time. There's just a difference when it comes to the creaminess of See's that is not only superior to my buds, but somewhat nostalgic too. I remember growing up and seeing these iconic boxes under our Christmas tree. I have always enjoyed the assortment of candies from See's that have barely changed (if at all), through the years. This includes the lovely ladies in their uniforms too. See's can get pricy, it's something I like to treat myself to once in a while and savor. This location is sweet just like most and I recommend stopping by if you're in the area. After holidays (most recent being Easter), their holiday themed items are usually at a discounted price. Oh! I walked in the door and a woman behind the counter yelled" excuse me lady can you go back outside we are at capacity " okay I'm fine with having a maximum number of people in the store, but have someone outside stopping people. I came in with only 5 people in each line, there are two lines. The lady told the customer, "It's not your fault it's slow, it's technology." Based on that, See's needs some help in the tech dept. The machines aren't running people's card and I'm still in line with one person in front of me. I have gift cards so mine won't be a problem. Feel bad for the other customers. I love See's Candies and really who doesn't? See's is great because you can also make your own custom box assortment of their wide variety of candies. Also like every other place they sell gift certificates, which is always great for those last minute special occasion scenarios.The only thing I think is funny about this See's store is that it seems like every time I come in here the staff is overly eager to help me. I personally find this slightly annoying only because I feel like I'm being rushed into making my candy choices and with such a wide variety to choose from you would think that the staff would realize that people need some time to look and decide for at least, hmmm.... Maybe a minute! The service here has always been on the verge of friendly but last time I came in here the guy behind the counter seemed a little bit too serious to me for a grandma labeled candy store. He seemed rather impatient. This is what I would say about the service here in my personal experience, 'almost impatient." But who cares about all that because in the end their scotch kisses and their truly divine cashew brittle along with their white chocolate key lime pie truffles and milk chocolate cherry cordial candies more than make up for everything else and let's not forget their butterscotch lollipops which are a personal favorite of mine. Yum! Also I will say this, I have never found another place, besides maybe the candy store in Disneyland to make such good caramel covered marshmallows as the See's Candy version referred to as the, "Scotch Kiss". I am very late to the See's Candies party -- which might be a good thing, since it's too good to miss. I had recently visited a See's in my neighborhood, where I had a lovely, tasty experience. And, on a whim, at Bella Terra, I sauntered in to this Huntington Beach location. The lady behind the vast counter of chocolate couldn't have been nicer. I tasted an amazing toffee-centered Dark Chocolate square. 'California' was in the name, and it is likely easily findable. I do love their lolly-pops; have enjoyed the chocolate, and the vanilla. A third, mocha, I think, is on the list. But, really, the have such variety in that old-school splendor. Though it feels like some sort of nostalgic experience, See's is as fresh and immediate as a sweet, melting treasure. read more

Sooooooo disappointed. She's really gone downhill in the quality of their product. I purchased a Mayfair easter egg, my favorite. It's always been chock-full of nuts and whole cherries. What was inside was first up to almost a powder nuts and cherries mixed in with the filling. I always looked forward to my Mayfair Easter egg, but no more it was almost $10 and the quality and a scale of one to 10 is a ONE! So so so disappointing. Won't be buying any more of these bad enough that they hiked the price up so high but you can barely afford to buy one but then to reduce the quality shame on Sees. National free lollipop day is a thing?! Awesome!! Add that to the list of many a food item that has a day dedicated to it. Back to Sees, has always been a favorite of mine since I was a child. Never disappointed. I remember devouring entire boxes of mixed chocolates when I was younger. When I got a little older I finally was given the option to build my own box and custom select my chocolate flavors. Good times, good times. But times are a changin' and no longer can I eat those delicious chocolaty treats without feeling sick to my stomach. HOWEVER, I am still a huge fan of their signature square-shaped lollipops. All flavors are good but Butterscotch has always been my personal fave. Also a fan of the holiday lollipop flavors, any style of holiday mint flavor is much appreciated! Note to the Sees company, any interest in making the lollipop sticks out of plastic instead of paper? A few other lollies I've tried had plastic sticks and they are so much more pleasant.
