They Bay Area's longtime Sees candies company has had me in a chokehold for decades. I love the old fashion style of butter cream and sugar candies. Gifting is easy with pre-wrapped assortment boxes in the store. I love the free sample while you shop because sometimes what I'm buying isn't for me. I love Sees as I am sure you do too! I love See's Candies! Stopped in last week when I was in the shopping center to satisfy a sweet tooth. Truly wanted one piece of chocolate...but is that really ever possible?! I was offered a sample - milk chocolate with caramel filling - and couldn't resist buying more of the same! Such a smart sales tactic. Their milk chocolate is my fave! I find See's stores to be consistently clean, organized, and well-stocked. This store was no different. Staff were super friendly. And I left a happy customer! I'll be back! read more

I walked in the door about 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday night. Had I entered any other establishment, I would've gotten the death stare from the sole employee manning the store. Not See's, and definitely not from Cayenne. She was so kind, patient and showed no signs of resentment. I really needed my See's chocolates because life is like a box of chocolates, and I had a bad taste in my mouth from visiting the major grocery store chain on Nave Dr. I digress... Back to Cayenne. She's a sweetheart superstar in a rude world. I'm grateful for people like her, and chocolate like See's. Cayenne deserves a promotion, or a raise. And See's deserves to stay around forever. read more

How can you not like See's candy? I've eaten chocolate from all places that are famous for its chocolate. I'm sure I missed a few. But to have See's quality in my backyard is wonderful. Every time I go, I am greeted with warmth and an offer of free candy. And often I see people come in just for the free sample, but it's always offered with a smile. I don't know if it's See's corporate policy or local philanthropy, but I give Vintage Oaks store 10 stars. I do not work there or know anyone who does. read more

Let me preface with retail is hard. Retail during the holidays is extra challenging. Everyone is doing their best. However, today I go into this See's candy. Only one of the four employees acknowledged me--without a smile or a "be right with you." As the line stagnated, two other customers left in frustration. When I asked the assistant manager, Hardy or Harlan, to ring me up, he pointed to the line and curtly said, "There's a line." His response felt dismissive and rude. As an assistant manager, I expected better attentiveness to customers needing assistance. While I've had great experiences with the staff here, particularly the Asian employee who provides excellent service, this visit was disappointing. I'll be visiting the Corte Madera store instead. read more

Nothing wrong with the customer service everyone is extremely nice but I was shocked at how much they have raised their prices. When I looked at the receipt I saw that they charge for the packing of their box of chocolates! Absolutely an appalling rip off. $1.50 for a crappy little bow that goes around their $30 box of chocolates. Beware of these hidden costs. read more

I just got off work and was pulling out of the lot yesterday when I noticed that See's happened to still be open and had two customers inside. The staff member on location graciously allowed me in to purchase a last minute gift box set for a birthday gift. I had picked one out just as soon as she came over to help me, and she was beyond sweet about giving me a sample and checking me out even though she could have easily chosen to close out. Such a great experience and reminder of why I love purchasing from See's! And, my friend loved the gift! read more

Buyer Beware! While you may love this Sees Candy Store but as a consumer be diligent when shopping there. The staff will be friendly & talk with you & even offer you a free sample of your choice. But they don't tell you about hidden costs: like an extra $1.50 for a bow on the box of prepackaged chocolate. The bow can't even be used again on your other packages because it has the Sees logo on it. Also other wrapping extras like cardboard box or band will cost you extra- just say no & take the free gift wrap or non at all. Buy the Sees candy in the cellophane bags & you won't get charged for a box! And if you choose to choose a personal assortment pound of candy, MAKE SURE to tell them to keep it to ONE lb. Which is about 30.00 a lb. One female employee asked me if I minded if my personal assortment & I am quoting her: "went a little over a pound". When I said ok she packed that box with 17.00 more candy which made that box a total of 47.00 - yikes! We clearly had a difference of what "a little over" a pound meant. When I realized the cost, I went back to Sees that same morning with the box of candy asked & a gentleman employee about it. He just said: "Oh we charged by the pound & yours was more". He never offered to fix it, refund, nothing. He acted like I was the dumb consumer who didn't pay attention! So pay attention folks!! Sees already makes a lot of $$$ they don't need to nickel & dime & dollar their loyal customers! Too bad the staff at that store don't tell you that you will be paying more for things like a bow & "a little more" candy- shame on them at the Novato store!! I did not have this kind of experience at the Corte Madera or SF stores. So beware & you can save some money while shopping there- don't let them charge you more just because they give you a free sample of candy & act like they are doing you a big favor! read more

Much of this mall is nondescript due to the Target, Costco and Old Navy anchor points, so always forget about this location. Will definitely be back in the future. All of the typical See's offerings. Very friendly staff with easy and plentiful parking options. Expect waves of people -- make sure to browse quickly even if it seems like the location is quiet. The employees of See's candies are always so nice! I go in to get the molasses chips and the Toffee-etttes. They will wrap them for you if you wish. Perfect for gift-giving! What I like best about them is that they give you samples while you're waiting in line or when you're just checking out the counter. Whoever was smart enough to send her a selection of chocolates saved the company much to Warren's dismay; but, he had to admit he loved the chocolates. This is a great little See's shop. Staff is friendly, helpful and patient, especially when it is difficult to decide which of the many selections of candy you want. No matter how many fancy types of candy I try, there is always something about See's that keeps me coming back. I think it is the freshness of the candy and the fact that it is made with the freshest and finest ingredients. Even people I have heard be sort of snobbish about chocolate will often say, "yet See's does have the freshest taste," or something like that. I can remember as a little kid my grandma and other relatives always bought a box of candy from Sees, especially for holidays. And, even if the box had not been opened for some time, when it was opened, the candy was as fresh as if it had been bought just that day right from the shop. Also, I think there is something comforting about just a little bit of chocolate now and then. read more

As a child growing up in San Rafael, I remember resting my chin on the counter of the 4th street Sees candy & admiring the 50's style color portraits of babies that lined the walls. I loved the warm inviting atmosphere that the older grandmother staff exuded and as I got older, I appreciated their constant smiles and professionalism. Never did I see them flustered or stressed out, no matter how busy it became, they were always friendly, efficient and pleasant, which is why I was a customer right up until the store closed. Sigh. That being said, the bar was set pretty high. Thankfully, the majority of the staff at the Vintage Oak store are similar in many ways and it's nice to see similar smiling faces and helpful attitudes. They work well as a team and don't become flustered when the line starts to grow. I realize for that this isn't the dream job or career choice for the younger girls who work there (90% of this store) but it's appreciated that their customer service skills, maturity and demeanor are ten times better than most young girls working around the mall or in similar positions. It depends on the day as to whether or not you will get a customer service oriented person. The candy is the same as it always has been. Sometimes I will go in and I will get a person that will friendly and helpful and other times I will go in and its like the service is Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. I find it frustrating. You know that they always give a piece of candy. One time one of the gals was giving a piece and I said,"Oh no thank you. I cannot eat walnuts they make my tummy upset." She actually responded,"Ok. Well just throw it away then I cannot just give you something else." I was amazed. I did not understand the situation. Yet another time I went in and had a pleasant experience without issue. So like i said. I just never know what I am going to get with this location. read more

Went there at 11:15 on a weekday with my daughter who loves chocolate.. The door was locked, but the store looked like it's been open. There was another older lady who said she's been waiting for 5 minutes. I thought I'd knock once and wait for 5 minutes. Then comes a very angry fed up lady.. She unlocks the door and walks away.. Now, if I didn't have my baby, I would've walked away, but I put up with it for her sake.. We went there because she wanted lollipops and I wanted to see the possibility of xmas gifts from there.. By then, I totally gave up the idea of xmas gifts from there.. You'll get warmer welcome from the DMV! We got the lollipops, I paid and said thank you.. She didn't open her mouth to say anything.. Pretty much like all see's candies, very friendly staff and free samples! Also, expensive, Bought a few chocolates for some co workers, Ended up spending roughly 100$, Got to try many samples and the chocolate was delicious, this location is great because there are no lines at ALL! Most see's candies have lines, so it was nice to find one that doesn't. Will definitely be back if i'm ever in the area. read more
