Lemon something I forgot the name but it was a delish special!

We were in Chicago for a work trip and my coworker found this place. Supposedly according to the people who live there they said it was a sketch area but we didn't notice anything weird or sketchy. The food.. let me tell you about the food... it's like someone's Italian grandmother is back there just making food for the family! So freaking good! The bread, get the bread. Pay for it. Worth it. The food *chefs kiss* I got some truffle fries and some lemon special they had and the dessert we got the pumpkin brûlée and it was amazing.

Had restaurant week at Segnatore and it was delish. The arancini was perfection, great flavor, cheesy and delicious. The ragu was great for a cold winter night, great flavor. Will definitely go back!

Late 9.15p reservation in restaurant week, and so we showed up about 10 minutes early but it was immediately suggested we leave and go across the street to another place to grab a drink. Unfortunately, that's just what we had been doing (early drinks to make it to our European dinner slot), so were hopeful for a reservation that lived up to the time. The host, who had a tired or frustrated scowl, put us at the bar to wait. While our bartender was friendly for being busy (certainly the best of all the staff we encountered), by the time we were seated at our table and ordered food, we were fairly famished. We didn't received our meal until 10.45p. While I'm sure small restaurants deal with a lot to manage the timing of things, it was not an ideal situation. We were there for a birthday celebration but no staff noticed. Our server (who may have been the front of house manager based on dress) rarely checked back, I'm sure with a bit of fatigue at the end of the night. Food: my Leek Gramigna pasta was savory with good tooth, and I chowed it down, although I think that was mostly hunger! At the end of the day, we felt a bit neglected and unlikely to return.

You had me at carbonara. This was just perfect for our Saturday date night. Straight to the table and we were all business. A nice bottle of red, some cacio e pepe arancini and delicious burrata to start. Arancini was as good as it sounds, and the burrata came with enough bread that we had it for the pastas. My wife got the deconstructed lasagna with mushroom Bolgnese. The aforementioned carbonara was creamy, peppery goodness. No spoon necessary. Use the side of the bowl to twirl. Loved our dinner here.

Segnatore really is that girl! I literally have gone twice this week in what was a happy accident of family being in town for brunch and friends making a res for dinner. Located at the corner of California and Augusta, in my neighborhood, Humboldt Park. I feel like the Humboldt Park renaissance is upon us and Segnatore does have a part to play in that respect. Last night, we indulged on the restaurant's new offering on Tuesday evenings which is a prefix 3-course meal for $33, we paired this with a bottle of chianti (2021 vintage), which was perfectly balanced between sweet and dry. Exactly what ya want as we head into winter season. Part of the 3-course for me were the marinated olives, bucatini carbonara, and a burnt honey ice cream. My partner ordered the lasagana (which is deconstructed), house foccacia, and chocolate olive oil cake. All six were phenomenal. My friends all ordered variations of our orders. Flavor profiles for each dish were expansive and obviously well thought out. This is food that tells a story. Staff are excellent, friendly and quick! Vibes inside are rustic and sexy! Very much a place you'd want to go to impress a date and get into some good conversation over good food. Also the brunch is really, really good as well!

Segnatore's brunch is absolutely out of this world. Featuring a fried green tomato salad from Vargo Brother Ferments today was the start of an incredible meal. The salmon tartine is out of this world. It has the beautiful interior of Cafe Marie Jeanne still and I loved the vintage Catholic stuff in the bathroom. Mary was a wonderful server and so helpful.

Came here for restaurant week and had the best time. Every dish we had, we lovvveeeddd! The risotto was stunning, the pasta was delicious, and meatballs so flavorful. Loved the music and vibe. Can't wait to go back, this was my first time here and definitely was a great find. 10/10

Free pre dinner bread! We each got one. So good

Everything about this visit was great. We stopped in during West Town's restaurant week. We started with a couple glasses of wine. Then, our waiter brought out a pre dinner free course of focaccia that we didn't order. It was so fresh and delicious. Topped with coarse sea salt. Yummm! Then I started with the whipped ricotta app. This was absolutely amazing. The flash fries Brussels sprouts were crispy, the ricotta was creamy and the bread was fresh. Definitely would order this again 100%. My friend started with the octopus and she really enjoyed it. Said it was cooked well. For our salads we both got the simple green salad. While fresh, we didn't particularly like this. The leaves were way too large and it lacked any flavor. For my main entree, I got the deconstructed lasagna. The red sauce was very tasty, the meat was flavorful and overall, it was great! The size was perfect too! No leftovers. Finally, I got the panna cotta. I'd never had this type of dessert before but it was creamy, citrusy and the fresh pistachios took it to another level. Highly recommend! Finally, the service was magnificent. Our waiter was attentive without crowding us. His recommendations were top notch.

I do not want to be dramatic, but Segnatore offered one of the greatest all around dining experiences of my 26 on this earth. I posit this experience will remain in the upper echelon for the rest of my days. Normally, I begin with food, but today I need to start with the hospitality. We walked in about 10:30 on a Sunday morning to a vacant restaurant. A bit uneasy, we take our seats. The host calls us beautiful humans, and Al greets us with water and a brief over view of the menu. Energetic, authentic, and attentive Al was eager to make sure we had the best experience possible. We were celebrating an anniversary and being the only 2 inside it felt insanely special. Al got us some cherry bellinis and paced our meal perfectly. The interior is simple, rustic, and beautiful. Well curated, designed, and implemented. The meal? To be honest, one of the best I have ever had. The burrata was great. Paired with the homemade sourdough it was perfect. The sourdough was warm, with crispy edges. The burrata was awesome, the only thing it is missing? A sprinkle of flaky salt and cracked pepper. The biscuit was one of the best I have ever had. Crispy, buttery edges made it melt in your mouth. It was layered, but also crumbly. A slight sweetness balanced with a bit of salt. The strawberry jam was insane. Sweet, slightly chunky. Just a masterpiece. Now, the carbonara--indubitably--was the best I have ever had. This carbonara has a few key details that make it stand out. First: the pancetta is not over cooked. It was still fatty, chewy, and salty. Superb. Next, the beans added a whole new dimension. Some extra crispiness and freshness. A solid new riff on carbonara. Lastly, the egg yolk and pecorino were perfectly mixed. Thick, with the pecorino adding a slight grittiness as it was not completely melted. Perfectly executed. It was creamy, salty, rich, and just superb. I loved every single aspect of this meal. The care given to us, the quality of the food, and the ambience. The staff even gave us an anniversary card. We may be from St. Louis, but Segnatore will be a must visit every time I find myself in chicago moving forward. Divine, beautiful, perfect. To the fine folks at Segnatore: thank you. An experience I won't ever forget, and I cannot wait to get back!

At this point, my husband and I have been to hundreds of restaurants in Chicago but there is a reason Segnatore has been our go to for birthdays, anniversaries and even the day after our wedding. It's the ambiance - curated but not pretentious or stuffy. It's the food - hands-down delicious and inventive. Our go to order is the meatballs and the incredible Leek Gramigna. It's the service - welcoming and consistent. I've never had a bad time at Segnatore and if the Leek Gramigna was one of the last things I ever ate, I'd be a happy woman.

This spot it truly not talked about enough. It is sooo cozy & serves some top tier pasta dishes. The leek gramigna & freestyle lasagnas are both life changing dishes. My friend & I split a bottle of wine.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. It's the perfect date night spot whether you're celebrating something or just looking for a great night out together. If you're visiting Chicago and love Italian food, Il Porcellino is a must. Great food, amazing drinks, beautiful ambiance, and a meal you'll be thinking about long after you've left. We make a point to visit every time we're in town, and it never disappoints.

For appetizers, we ordered the While Garlic Loaf Focaccia and the Stuffed mushrooms. I wished I took a video when the focaccia arrived. The waiter, holding a plate with a round and fluffy focaccia and proceeded to pour the garlic et al on top of the bread! Very freshly-made and fabulous! The stuffed mushrooms were also cute delicious! This is a rare time where the stuffing had spinach below the stuffing - excellent! I remember seeing (and enjoying) this while I visited Italy. Delightful! The main courses we ordered were the Gnocchi Bolognese, the Baked Burrata Lasagna and the Barolo Braised Short Rib. The Gnocchi meat sauce was the standout here, being very flavorful, but not as heavy as some other restaurants. The Gnocchi were dense - not fluffy as I had expected. But the sauce flavor was vivid. The Baked Burrata Lasagna was oh, so perfect! Many layers of al dente pasta separates with a tasty meat sauce. Many times I have had lasagna that was either over-baked, or had limp pasta. Here, the lasagna shined! So large of a serving that my wife could not finish it, much to her dismay . . . I had the Barolo Braised Short Rib - oh my living god! - so tender, so complete a dish, with the fork tender meat that melts in your mouth, complimented by a light polenta (I must emphasize the lightness here, as many restaurants serve polenta that is heavy and too rich. This did not compete with the short rib, rather it seamlessly became the foundation on which the richness of the meat was enhanced. I was blown away! But, the most amazing, and probably the most delectable part of the evening was finishing off with a luscious Chocolate Cake! OH, WOW!!! The cake was certainly moist and smooth. Yes, smooth! I could not tell there was cake at all, so smooth it was! And surprisingly (not surprising given the quality of this establishment) it wasn't too sweet, rather just enough to bring out the chocolatey goodness! I only wished that I ordered some hot coffee - the cake would have gone well with a great cup of coffee! Overall, I was very impressed with this restaurant! The old-town decor, the dim lights, the fantastic food (just like of the Italy of old!)- all contributing to a wonderful experience! Highly recommended!

The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes.
