Went for brunch this weekend. Absolutely incredible. Carrot "Bloody Mary" is so bright and refreshing. The bagel sandwich was phenomenal(but very difficult to eat!). Zucchini bread was also delicious. Can't say enough good things. Yum!! read more

Amazing brunch! Our server was Alexis and she was awesome. The hot espresso martini was fabulous. The hash brown special was delicious as were the oysters and the scrambled eggs. I've only ever had scrambled eggs that good in France, cooked to order by a private chef. Just sayin... Will definitely be back for brunch again, and can't wait to try dinner. Took a chance on this spot after reading about it on Eater, and could not be happier with our choice. Wasn't really sure what to expect for brunch, but what we found was personable service, funky decor and food that honestly blew us away. The omelet was the best I've ever had, and the tri-tip hash was unbelievable...as in, I don't understand it, but I love it. Humboldt park is not an area we spend much time in because of location, but we will no doubt be returning, and soon. There are so many other menu items we are dying to try. read more

We were really unimpressed. Came here with a friend of mine before a concert. The folks behind the bar were very friendly but the cocktails were really underwhelming. The server badgered us a bit on getting our order; I was trying to catch up with my friend. And overall, the server was really unfriendly. We started with the bread and meatballs. The bread came in a bowl with a cold/hard herb butter smeared around the rim; it wasn't real good in our view. The meatballs were very mediocre. Visited Segnatore for the first time last Saturday. First the vibe: it is a very cozy restaurant. Tables are pretty close together, which may be a deterrent due to COVID, but the restaurant was vigilant about checking vaccine cards and IDs at the door. I will say that this was during prime dinner reservation times, so you may be able to spread out more during brunch or if have an earlier or later dinner time. Food: We started with the house bread. The sourdough and grissini were okay, but the focaccia was amazing! I'm still having dreams about it. Perfectly baked- definitely a standout from the breads provided. We also had the beets & salata, which was fine but I'd also be up for trying some of the other veg dishes on a return visit. Now for the standouts: the ricotta gnocchi was delicious. I started with this and was impressed until I took a bite of the freestyle lasagna. Oh my god. I don't even have the words to describe how fantastic this dish is. You have to try the lasagna. Definitely a standout dish for our table. Mushroom bolognese is sometimes hit or miss for me- the texture and seasonings were spot on. They had a pretty nice selection of wines and cocktails. We opted for a red and our server did a nice job of explaining what would pair well with our meal and the flavor profiles of each wine. Service: our server was pretty attentive. No complaints there. Also, I completely forgot that I mentioned it was my birthday when booking and they brought out a nice dessert as well as a signed birthday card from the staff. It was a nice touch! This review is long overdue. We went here a couple of weeks ago and I would never forget the great experience we had here on that night. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. I personally love the decors especially those candle lights. The staff on the other hand was friendly and accommodating. Service was fast. The food has a nice presentation and they all got a nice portions. The food as expected from that kind of restaurant was all delicious. Everything literally has a unique and great flavor. The cocktails are good as well. When it comes to the prices it was fair and reasonable. I love this restaurant. They absolutely gave the perfect service that we wanted and we deserve as a customer. I was very excited to try Segnatore for restaurant week after all of the raves reviews, but it did not live up to the hype. My friends and I ordered off the restaurant week menu and were able to try everything between us. Unfortunately many of the dishes were lukewarm and our waitress did not seem to be happy to be serving us. That being said, table favorites were the garlic soup, citrus fennel salad, bucatini and risotto. read more

So the space is attractive and as noisy as a jet engine, absolutely NOT conversation friendly! Then the menu is pretty small - and they were limited to ONE fried chicken dinner - after we placed the order (he thought there might have been 2 left in the kitchen) this is a Tuesday at 6:30! The waiter absolutely should have come to the table announcing there was only one left as they distributed the menus. (we wanted to order 2 for a table of 6). Then the cost and portion sizes. $48 for a whole fried chicken with zero sides. Capellini a very small portion, mid twenties range. Tri-tip steak - four small slices for $28, no sides. Whole fish of the day - nearly $70, again, no sides AND the waiter said they would not table-side filet. Dessert - out of one of the three options. Response from waiter: "well we are a busy place, there's nothing I can do", response from manager (on second visit to the table), can I buy you a drink or dessert? Then a discount from the manager, appreciated, but not a very pro-active approach. Bottom line, food was tasty and nice presentation, but not going back. read more

It is very disappointing that proof of vaccine is not required (and we can assume it will be the same at the Clipper once it opens). It has been a tough time for this neighborhood losing some of its favorite places, it would be appreciated if we could feel safe indoors while supporting the new businesses especially as we move into the cold months. I am unsure who is being helped by not requiring proof of vaccine. It would really make more people want to come to this restaurant if they felt their safety was at the forefront. read more

Nice ambiance, cozy /trendy place with great Italian dishes. We got two pasta entrees and 3 appetizers to share and it was enough for three people. Also great nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks to boot! A little pricey but really enjoyed our meal there. read more

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last night. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. It started with a personalized anniversary card and Prosecco to celebrate. The food was delicious and the staff was so nice. The host Alexis was so sweet and went above and beyond by holding our 1 year old daughter when she decided she was done sitting, which allowed us to finish our last few bites of food. This place is SO. SO. GOOD. So much so...it got me to write my very first review. Ambiance and service were both fantastic. We sat at the bar and to start we ordered the oysters and the meatballs. The oysters were super fresh and just the right amount of zing in the sauce. The meatballs were also divine. The cheese in the middle is what made us order them, but the sauce...people the sauce is stinkin' amazing. Next we ordered the lasagna and short rib pasta. Again, slam dunks. The short rib completely lived up to its full potential (which doesn't always happen...) and the lasagna was a nice riff on the meatball sauce but with its own unique profile. Lastly we had the chocolate tart. We usually never order dessert but this place is THAT GOOD. We even ordered dessert! Will definitely be back. FANTASTIC pasta (so delicious that we forgot to take pictures)! A few hits and relative misses. We started with the breads, which were ok but they don't give you much for $8 (a baguette slice, two have slices of sourdough, and some dry bread sticks) so I'd skip it next time I return. The meatballs were great though-- juicy and filled with cheese. How can you go wrong? Our server astutely served us our tri tip steak next (knowing that we'd want to take pasta leftovers home if we had them). The steak was fine but lackluster, and a bit salty. It could've used some sort of sauce to balance it. Finally we finished with two pastas (some of which we did need to take home!). These pastas were the real highlights of the meal. The leek gramigne had a savory cream sauce and short rib chunks over bucatini-like pasta and omg it was so good. We also had the freestyle lasagna which used thin lasagna noodle strips with a tomato based mushroom bolognese and ricotta. Our server said her liked these two pastas best and we can't help but agree! We'll definitely be back for more pasta and meatballs, but would probably skip the breads and steak next time read more

So, we had dinner here to celebrate our mother's birthday and we really had a fantastic celebration with such a nice restaurant like Segnatore.  We enjoyed the night, sharing a variety of appetizers, salads, main courses, desserts, and wine. The salads and vegetables were outstanding. The focaccia is incredible, the oysters are exquisite, the pasta is fresh and inventive, and the wine list is endless! Such a nice place to come. Superb! In addition to this, when it comes to service, I can't say anything bad about this cause they were all kind and accommodating. The handwritten birthday greeting that came with our dessert impressed us. The sweets were unique and a wonderful contrast from the normal Italian fare. For the quality of food and service received, the prices were really fair. Classic Italian dishes are given a new spin. Very excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
