One of my favorite places to start the day in Houston. I usually come here with my wife to get breakfast & coffee. The tacos are always super warm & delicious, I will say they do add up when you get a couple, but overall you're getting a solid taco & the green sauce here definitely makes it worth the money. The barbacoa taco is surprisingly not greasy & I love that. Good portion, get your tacos with refried beans always. The pingüino coffee is a 10/10 for me. The sweetness is on point. The selection of coffee and pastries was great, there were a variety of items to choose from. I got a churro latte with almond milk which was really good and a warm honey croissant which was amazing. I happened to come on a day where the air conditioning went out or something so it was very hot, otherwise I would've stayed longer. Hopefully this was a one off thing and there is usually cold air and not just a couple fans scattered throughout. There's a good amount of seating and a couple of outlets. The Wi-Fi is free but the password is printed on your receipt, so seems like you'd have to buy something. The noise level isn't too high but there are other restaurants and shops in the building so not the place to come to if you need a quiet place to read or work. Would definitely come back. read more

Got La Mexicana latte which is honey vanilla cinnamon with 2 shots of espresso ($6) which was pretty good although pricey. They had some nice food options. There wasn't a lot of comfortable seating, but we came early and snagged the nice stool chairs at a table near the windows. The music is too loud to study personally, but I can see this being a nice place to chill. read more

Great working space! It was not what I was expecting at all in terms of size. It is a small shop located in a HUGE warehouse. The warehouse is filled with other small businesses (restaurants, photography shops, nail salon, etc.) The front of the building is filled with tables, chairs, and sofas available to use for working after purchasing coffee. There are also lots of outlets, high ceilings, and natural light. It is also fairly quiet to focus. I ordered a La Mexicana latte and Cafe de Olla along with their tamales. The coffee was really strong and bitter. Not my taste, but if you are into that, then they have it. The tamales were really good though. They came hot. They also offer empanadas and pastries, but they were out of empanadas by the time I got there at around 2:30 pm. 8.5/10! read more

I don't have any complaints on my hot vanilla latte with oatmilk. It was average, but my friend's thai tea barely had any tea flavor to it. It tasted as if it was just oat milk. It made sense because the drink was very pale in color, and thai tea typically has a deep orange hue to it. Segundo has a huge open space. Parking is plentiful, I did not appreciate how the menu did not have any prices on it. I felt uncomfortable asking the employee how much x, y, z costs, but it's important to me because I try not go over a certain amount when getting coffee. My drink ended up being nearly $7. Although the coffee shop has wifi available, it is not very student-friendly because wifi is only available for 2 hours. I ended up just logging into my xfinity account afterwards, but it was not as fast as it could've been. TLDR: parking is plentiful, but I would not come back due to the wifi restriction, price, lack of prices on the menu, and drink quality. read more

GASLIGHT AND TRICKED! This place was not what I expected--a supposed industrial-inspired coffee shop in a warehouse shared with other businesses, including Segundo Coffee hidden at the back. The prices were unjustifiable; I spent over $15 on coffee and a mediocre cherry danish. Located in a desolate area surrounded by abandoned factories, with unfinished roads causing muddy inconveniences -- my shoes got muddy and i could feel them sinking in. along with an unfriendly crowd, the overall environment was suspicious. I love coffee. However, ever so often, I come across something that just changes my life for the better. The Thai Especial was just that. How have I not thought about combining thai tea with coffee? It is creamy and delicious. The coffee shop is located within a newly gentrified warehouse building that is in the process of becoming a new food hall. There is a decent amount of seating for studying and the lighting and wifi are great. However, the only thing is that there are limited outlets, which will likely get snatched up quickly. So make sure you are all juiced up if you are planning to get some work done over there! read more

Came here last night around 5:30. Got a hot decaf mx pumpkin spice latte or something like that. It was a small drink for $8.35 without anything added. The drink was okay. They have a very small menu of non caffeinated drinks which they should add more juices and teas to. The CBD/delta 8 shop is cute but they're selling boof delta 8. Why was the bud burnt and brown? Only after I bought and got my drink did they inform me I could have added cbd or delta 8 to my drink. If it was better quality than the bud they showed me I would have added it if I had known my options. I actually came here cause my friend heard it was a lounge type place. I thought I could get a preroll and smoke it inside or on a patio but nah it's just a nice coffee shop and cbd/delta 8 shop. The rest of the place is under construction. Drove 20 minutes to get there. Stayed only about 45 minutes bc around 6:15 they turned on the bright fluorescent white lights since it was getting dark. The lights were annoying AF- humming and buzzing so intense and loudly. I asked the employees to turn them off bc the amount of lighting inside was fine without those lights on even thought it was getting darker. They were kind but uncomfortably answered that their manager just told them to turn them on and it was obvious they were scared to call their manager to ask about turning them off. A workplace with low psychological safety, a workplace where employees fear communication with their boss, is not one that will succeed. They need to fix those jank a** lights and the chain of command. I will probably try this place again since it's spacious and the natural lighting was really nice for a coffee shop but only during the day. Never coming here in the evening read more

Found this place on tiktok and it looked pretty good! We went to try it and it's located in this big warehouse with small shipping containers inside. It's a pretty cool layout with small local shops inside these containers. It's pet friendly too!! The coffee was good, but I don't think it was worth the drive for us. Maybe if we are in the area we would stop by. The staff is super sweet and kind! I also love that they call your name over the microphone. It could get loud and busy with all the customers so that's a nice touch to make sure you get your coffee. read more

I've wanted to try Segundo for a while even drove 30 minutes. I decided to order online to avoid waiting to wait an additional 40 minutes while there. I figured because of the crowd, but I sat there while people came to order and went and still no order after I brought it to the Barista's attention. Received my coco Loco lattes lukewarm not hot but favorful. I would say don't order online , you would probably have a better experience ordering in store. read more

Visited Segundo Coffee Lab today and was so impressed by the inclusive options available for people with dietary restrictions. Though we arrived around the time they closed down the food menu, we still had our options from an assortment of empanadas (made fresh to the order!! though they seemed a bit underbaked) and the pastry display. I ordered a banana nut loaf, which had a very interesting texture and flavor profile that I would say was mostly good! Definitely not your run of the mill banana nut bread so just take that for what it's worth. We also ordered the tofu and veggie empanada to go but I haven't yet tried it, so jury's still out on this one. For coffee, I ordered the pinguino with oat milk and it was FANTASTIC. The pinguino is a mix of mocha and white chocolate mocha is definitely the move if you like your drinks on the sweeter side. My husband, a notoriously tough coffee critic, ordered the Thai Especial latte and said, "This is actually good coffee." High words of praise for him. The wifi password comes on the receipt so make sure to grab yours. The atmosphere was actually very quiet and there were several open tables (around 5-6ish pm on a Monday) so you won't have to fight other customers for a place to sit. I am looking forward to coming back to explore the other stores housed in the same Ironworks building. read more
