Overpriced and had problems throughout the installation. There was a water leak above one of the bedrooms and a gas leak. They were all resolved but should've happened in the first place. I saw the same system on Amazon for $3500 afterwards and they charged me $17,000! I kept asking for an itemized receipt but never received it. They say they're local, maybe customer service is but not installation. They were coming up from Bakersfield to the Modesto area. Two stars for friendly customer service. read more

1. I wanted to install a couple of Tesla Powerwalls. They called me back right after I submitted their form - very nice. However, the guy at the other end kept insisting that he needed our typical electricity bill even though I told him that we had just moved into the house in April and weather wise there was nothing typical about the last 3 months. Also - if I shopping for solar, it would be one thing but I was looking for battery. After telling the person that if he kept insisting about getting a typical bill, it was going to be a very short conversation. So I asked once more and I hung up the phone. 2. Next day early morning - somebody calls me up from their company to do an appointment. Fine - I needed the Tesla powerwall's - so why not. So the person comes out and as we are talking, he mentions a 25K number for the 1st battery. I can go to Tesla's website and request 2 batteries for around 21K. I checked with him on the price for Enphase system and they were 25% higher than one other installer that I was working with. It is a shame that companies like this are asking obscene amount of money from customers who are not doing any kind of price shopping. Definitely doesn't feel like a very ethical business. read more

They completely roofed the house in under 4 days and it looks incredible with lots of extras in the ventillation aspects that other roofing companies did not even offer. We looked at our rising PG&E bills and thought to ourselves how we can fight these increases. We heard that solar is the way to go if we wanted to control the usage from PG&E or the "Grid". We shopped around for the "best" solar company and found that the Pricing for the New Tesla power wall 3 and one of the best rated solar panels came in at a manageable price. We asked a ton of questions and signed the contract in July. Semper Solaris designed the system and took care of our SGIP application for us. The installation was proposed to be sometime in October but we got a call in August and the permitting process and site visits took place right away. We got the Tesla PW3 and 10 panels at 390w each totaling 3.9kw. This design was 115% of our historical usage. It took a little while to get our Permit to operate from PG&E but that is to be expected. After some programming and working out the bugs which Semper Solaris performed and looked after with urgency, We are pleased to say that our first full month bill from PG&E was under a $100. After we get used to the system I assume we will be "self powered" on most days which will reduce the bills from PG&E even more. Looking forward to not having $250-275 PG&E bills. We contacted them about get an estimate and immediately we got a response from 2 different women asking questions and my husband got frustrated and asked one of them why there were 2 people hitting him up for information and she said she could see the other person worked i the same department and she could see everything so it was confusing why they both were asking same thing. Then we communicated with one woman from there on out. She set a time to come see us on Saturday, February 18 @ 6pm after that she had asked for some billing information which at that point we did not get it to them. Three days later I asked my husband to check and see if they were coming and we were told that we did not have an appointment because we did not give them the billing information. Unknown to us because we did not get the billing information to them. They would not follow through on their side with an appointment they never called or texted and asked for the billing information again so we just thought everything would be taken care of at time of appointment. At that point when he contacted them, she said we had No appointment then wanted to do a phone quote. at 6:00 that night She asked for our billing information again which at that point we gave it to them and that was it. No response. No call no text nothing. We still have not heard anything from the company. It has been three days later. Needless to say, I think they handled their business. And a little bad. So I added more panels to my existing system. Everything turned out good. I added 9 panels to my current system. Its working great. The problem i have with them is that salesman Demitri lied to me. He informed me that my old system would stay on net metering 2 and new system would be on nem 3.0. Well it turns out that now both system will go on nem 3.0. I will now need a battery system to be installed to make my solar system not loose its value in what pg&e pay me for my solar production. Very disappointed in that aspect. Now shoping for battery system I having hard time finding battery that workz with both my old enphase system and new telsa inverter. What a headache plus at least 10k to 20k more i have to pay for batteries. Be careful do your homework first read more

They were very fast to give a quote. They did ask you if you're a veteran or not during the initial phone screening. I saw that they give discounts for veterans. I also saw that they are a veteran owned business and I like the idea of supporting vets. Unfortunately the price they quoted was at least 50% higher than every other quote I got. My guess is that if you're a veteran, give them a try to get a competitive price quote. If you're not a veteran, you will probably have better luck elsewhere. read more

Very frustrating experience. We purchased a new roof, power panel upgrade, solar panel with battery back-up system on our 1400sqft. house. started the process in late Feb. 2023, after the design process, Semper Solaris submitted for permits in early April for the roof, I would have thought they would have submitted for the rest of the upgrades at the same time but no. permits for the roof were issued in early June, roofer started and didn't complete the needed work before inspection, so there were some items that needed to be completed and fixed before the inspector would sign off, the Semper Solaris construction mgr. told me they would get the items taken care of and he talked to the inspector and the inspector would be back out on Friday, I knew right then that he was lying to me because the city inspectors do not work on Fridays in my city, the construction Mgr. then told me that they are going to just go ahead and cover the roof with the lament paper and take pictures and the inspector will just buy it off, I asked him if he was sure he wanted to do that and he said yes we do it all the time. Inspector didn't come back out until the next Wednesday and rejected the roof and told the construction mgr. to uncover the roof so he can see the completed sheeting and fixes that he requested from the week before. so all in all a roof job that should have been done in one week took almost three weeks, totally unacceptable! Now we had to wait for Semper Solaris to submit for permits (which should have been done back in February 23') and schedule the rest of the work, we finally got permits and scheduled the rest of the work in mid Sept. 23. electricians arrived and completed power panel upgrade, solar panels and battery back-up system, but the foreman was having trouble trying to get the system to connect to the internet and told me he would have to get with his tech and come back out and fix the issue. I didn't hear anything for two or three weeks and had to call my salesman Gil to find out what was going on, couple of days later the foreman finally came back out and fixed the problem. NOW with all the rain we've had over the last couple of months I have a leak in my new roof dripping into my family room and when I contacted Semper Solaris it took them a week and a half to send someone out, the first time it was scheduled he was a no show and no call to communicate he wasn't coming, then he was supposed be out between a certain time and showed up an hour and half late, he pepped his head into the attack (didn't even enter the attack) and said it was the solar crews issue, I waited for Semper Solaris to contact me with a report and with the expectations they would be sending someone from the solar crew to look at it but didn't hear anything, so I called my sales guy Gil again, I was told by Gil has sent all my emails to his boss and that they should be calling me, I was told that two or three times and I am still waiting, my next call is going to be to my lawyer... read more

I'm super happy with the results of my project! I began shopping for batteries to augment the existing solar system in our new house in December 2021. My sales person, Adrian, did a great job of explaining my different options including Powerwall vs. retrofitting my existing panels with micro-inverters and using Enphase batteries. Ultimately I decided to go with Powerwall as originally planned. I was getting quotes for Powerwall that were 6-12 months in the future. Semper had the best available date of May 2022. With NEM3.0 looming in everyone's minds I decided to put down my deposit and move forward. At the end of January I got a call they had our batteries ready to install the following week. I was absolutely shocked, I thought it must have been a mistake! Sure enough the next week the crew showed up and installed our Powerwalls! The onsite crew was great, they were super personable and after day one I noticed that one of the batteries wasn't perfectly aligned with the other. The next morning I let them know and without any hesitation they fixed it. The inspection almost passed first try but it turns out San Jose has a new rule about having a heat sensor for indoor batteries. A few weeks later another person came out and installed the heat sensor and the inspection passed. Right now I'm just going through the interconnect process with PG&E. I can't say enough how pleased I was with every part of the process. The project management team was always super fast to respond to my emails. It was all around a 5 star experience!
