I don't know what's going on but this is the third-place I have reviewed lately where the review has gone missing... What a great find, I had set out from Rockwall to run some errands for my parents.... Not being from here I'm not used to the traffic schedule and duration. I made the mistake to choose to go towards Mesquite on I 30 at 4:30 in the afternoon. I came up over the hill from Rockwall and saw the bumper-to-bumper standstill traffic on I 30 over the reservoir as I passed the last exit. oh well what can you do, turn up the tunes and relax and enjoy the wait. After finding out that the place I had travel to did not have what I needed, I decided to use Google maps to get back to Rockwall. Google maps showed me a way to go down 66 back to Rockwall, I figured the drive might be a little better than bumper-to-bumper traffic on 30. Realizing that the Houston Astros had a game that night against the Texas Rangers I decided to make a stop along the way and watch the game. I stopped at three places Took a look inside the door and they either didn't have TVs or they were oh so crowded... I finally came to this joint and it was small and cozy but most of all everybody seem to be having fun. I asked the first person I saw there if they were going to have the baseball game on tonight and she quickly said certainly. So I decided to wait for a place at the bar to open up. A seat finally opened up and I sat down. Met several of the regulars and they were quick to tell me that everything was good and what the specials for the night were, Which I took your advice and tried. I sat there with one of the other regulars who I had talked with quite a bit. I noticed they were closing but my new friend told me no worries we can stay till they're done cleaning up... which I did. The nachos and salsa's were excellent and the margaritas are pretty darn good as well... So good that I brought my parents back the next day for lunch as we were in the area and I was not going to miss out on the chance to try some thing else here. In talking with the daughter, of the mother and daughter team who own this restaurant... I found out they had several different salsa's and she brought them all out to us, each one being better than the last and yet each of them had a distinctive flavor and degree of heat. Some may be too hot, if you're not accustom to the heat. After she had brought out our meal, she pacifically asked us what we thought of the rice, because she said that she had been trying to make it as good as her mother does. At which point I asked when her mother does the cooking, so I could come back on one of those days, which I will. by the way, Was excellent dry and tender with a spice that I just couldn't put a name to that set it apart. It was reminiscent of my travels to Mexico where I first discovered traditional Mexican Food rather than Tex Mex, which has its place but not here. As the night before everything was excellent!!! and I highly recommend this place to everyone. Rockwall Mexican food restaurants will be missing some clientele as it's well worth the few more minutes of driving to get to. Looking forward to coming back to Rockwall so I can go back to rowlett to eat some more good Mexican food!!!! This should not be missed by anyone who considers themselves a Mexican food Foodie!!! read more

Great place to eat me and my wife came in thinking this is Tex-mex but it was pretty close to authentic Mexican food. They give you salsa and chips right as you sit down. Would come back again for sure great price for serving sizes read more

We went here tonight for the first time. The restaurant was more like a bar setting instead of a regular restaurant. The server was kind and helpful and our food came out quickly. However, the food was horrible and too spicy. We felt they spiced everything up in order to cover such bland food. Senaida's has great deals on Taco Tuesday on their street tacos, with your choice of pork, chicken, beef or brisket. We had the brisket tacos which are full of flavor and generously portioned. For an appetizer we had chips and a white queso with pico that was good but a bigger portion would have been nicer as it didn't go very far with three people. The wait staff was friendly, but there is limited seating and it took them a long time to bring the food so I'm glad we were the only ones there when we ordered or we might have never received our food. read more

Can authentic mexican food come from a strip-store location? YES! What Senaida's lacks in ambiance and style, they make up in other areas! Seat yourself, and a server will be quickly at your table for drink orders. (Always a plus for this thirsty diner.). The frozen margaritas come in 3 flavors (mine's gotta be lime), and it is a huge bargain in HH (4-7pm) at only $3.25! Kind of weak (needs more tequila), but good flavor. Ditto on the mijito I tried; good flavor - but not quite enough rum. The chips appear to be made in house, and the salsa is good! Score! We tried assorted street tacos, and every meat we tried was good! Grease did NOT drip out the end of our tacos, as is often common at taquerias. Pepsi soft-drinks, and Mexican cokes. Plenty of parking. Low prices, attentive waiters, flavor-filled food - what more could you want? (Other than stronger drinks.). We liked it!! read more

UPDATE: Friday night I tried the Jalapeno taco. 1st one was so good, I ordered a 2nd. The 2nd Jalapeno taco was very Greasy & Oily, not like 1st. All my life I eat spicy food, so no worry. I ate & paid my bill. OMG that 2nd oily Jalapeno taco was wrong! Bad heartburn. Burping grease. Tums & mineral water all night, kept busy to take my mind off, no sleep. Reviews were great is why went. I can't eat much and they don't have lunch portion. Chips are thick and hard. Black beans option only. 17.99 for fajita's for single. Drank water so with simple 15% tip was 23.00 for 1 person for lunch is not good. read more

The rice and beans are super authentic! Reminds me of home the bistec and pastor tacos are the go to here. The meat is really good and the taste is authentic. Heads up! - ZERO Vegetarian/Vegan options. I was referred to this place by a dear, carnivorous companion. First impression - MY GOODNESS!!! Those chips are so delicious! Salsa, no kick, but good! The menu was very chorizo and chicken heavy. A few things looked good. The beans seem to never be specified. They have refried and borracho. I ended up with the shrimp fajitas, slightly disappointed. The shrimp was grilled deliciously, with tails. You get your choice of flour or corn. The corn are hearty (and healthier) and crisped. That good good. Loved that part. They bring out 3 sauces. The red chili red is so so good. The green with seeds is good too! They seem to bank on the street tacos, particularly brisket. They can be purchased at $1.99 per, and look worth it, though small. Worth checking out. I didn't try them, but they have frozen and rocks margs that look delicious. Let me know! All in all, I'd return. Location is A+ and the food is C-. So I just realized I have never reviewed this place, a grave oversight on my part. I've tried all the other highly reviewed Mexican places in town and this is by far the best. The chips are thick with lots of crunch, the salsa is tasty, and they by far have the most flavorful street tacos in town. In addition both their rice and beans are so tasty I could probably just have those with some chips and be perfectly content! I ordered in on Cinco de Mayo. Luckily I did call back shortly after placing my order to add some items because there was a little mix up on it, but they were extremely apologetic and when I got my food the order was right. I've been there a few times, and I know last summer it got a little warm in their dining area, but the food and the price make it worth some mild discomfort. I definitely recommend! read more
