Very fresh sashimi, surprisingly pleasant as I was worried about the quality of the fish in such a hot day. The tempura are also freshly made and the fried pork tonkasu is well made. Because the hot food are freshly made there's a bit of wait time. Sashimi salad is fresh, I just wish the sauce isn't like soup sitting at the bottom. I had to use a spoon to fish out the bottom half of the salad. Our friend said the Ten Zara Soba sauce was too salty even there were ice cubes inside the sauce cup. The hostess is polite with a hospitable smile. But she's working all by herself and busy all the time. We didn't get a water refill and the husband chef stepped in to help with taking the check. It's my first time trying this place and we ordered for takeout. This is what we ordered: Philly Roll(4/5): This is my go to roll for every sushi place and every time, I'm not disappointed. The salmon is buttery and the cheese is really creamy. I really like the texture that the roll gives. I kind of wished it was cucumber instead of avocado because it was a little too fatty for me. Spicy Tuna(3/5): The spice was tolerable and the taste was good, but I wished there was more cucumber. I probably would've given it a better scoring. Potato Croquette(3/5): I liked the crunch that it gave, but I felt like it lacked in flavor. The sauce that it came with had a vinegar taste and it really brought out the flavor that was hidden inside the croquette. Salmon Delight(5/5): Words can't describe how good this roll was. It was doused with spicy mayo and had huge amounts of salmon inside and outside the roll! Definitely my favorite out of the 4 items! Tried this place for the first time but wasn't very impressed. I had their two item bento box with sashimi and chicken teriyaki. Also had a sashimi appetizer. The sashimi was fresh but was not that thick. The appetizer was $17 for 6 pieces, not really a very good value. The chicken teriyaki tasted kind of funky. I was looking for a sushi spot that was affordable but still had great ratings, and I'm so glad I found this gem! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by both the host and the sushi chef, which immediately made the place feel welcoming. I noticed there was only one server and the restaurant was completely full, so I knew she must have been incredibly busy. Even with a full house, she provided amazing customer service. She was quick, attentive, and had such great energy. Her vibe really made the experience even better. Got Chicken Katsu and Salmon Roll for the two items. Will say that the salmon roll was what I expected, not too grand since it is the leftover pieces from all the nigiri and sashimi they prepare. The katsu was very tender and fried well, would've liked the tonkatsu sauce on the side (just not a sauce girlie). They're pretty packed on the weekdays especially around lunch time so I'd go early or don't go with a huge table! I also ordered a yellowtail delight roll to go and that was very yummy. This sushi restaurant seemed to be an ef-fish-ient lunch choice for the companies in this area, because it quickly filled with employees during a weekday lunch hour. However, maybe because it was too crowded, the servers were not able to give us as much attention, bringing out extra drinks we did not ask for and forgetting the ones we ordered. Thankfully we were able to ask for the ones they forgot, and they rushed to bring them out. They have a large number of roll options I am able to eat (if I ask for them without sacue) in regards to my allergies. I appreciate how quick the servers are in response to the questions of the ingredients inside their rolls in regards to allergens. The menu had all the ingredients in the descriptions, and the visuals of the rolls also helped for quick discernment of possible allergens. I ordered the rainbow roll without sauce. The rolls come out with a side of wasabi and ginger, but my coworker's ginger was missing when they brought out his plate of I think Salmon Delight. My other coworker ordered the Crunch Salmon. We also all shared a Philadelphia role. The rainbow roll was fine, but I usually have more generous, fatter sushi rolls at other restaurants. I was a bit underwhelmed with the Philadelphia role because it seemed small, and I feel like the cream cheese amount they put in was more than I usually have at other restaurants, and it overpowered the roll. The rolls are this restaurant are definitely a bit more expensive than at other restaurants, but I think it could be because this sushi restaurant is conveniently located near workplaces? This experience was overall a little disappointing and gingerless possibly because of how busy it was during the lunch hour I went, but I do believe this restaurant has decent sushi overall and a vast menu for people with allergies/special diet. I would be willing to give it another chance, and the convenience of the location is appealing. P.S. It was a joy seeing them have some cute anime figurines on display for decoration. UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT It's a shame the previous owners tarnished the Sendo Sushi name because my experience was nothing like I had previously read online. The sashimi tasted fresh and had the right consistency. Teriyaki chicken was flavorful but not overly artificial and sugary. And the salmon was cooked to perfection with a wonderful flavor profile. The Dynamite and Crunchy Salmon rolls were of similar vein while also offering all the trendy accouchements that most modern sushi spots have nowadays. I would have to say, Sendo Sushi punches above it's weight class and the pricing was extremely competitive for the quality of food you're getting. I can comfortably say Sendo is one of the better eateries in the North San Jose area. read more

I was super hungry after my workout and had a sudden craving for a shrimp crunchy type of roll. I called Sendo Sushi at 7:55 PM and I know they close at 8 PM! They picked up the phone and asked if they can take a quick order, they said they were able to accommodate my order for one crunch shrimp roll :) I was so happy they were able to take my order last minute! They even waited 10 minutes after their closing for me to pick up my roll. Definitely appreciate the service and thoughtfulness even though I called in super last minute!!! read more

Their service was great; our waitress was attentive & kind (the chef was super nice too!). We didn't feel rushed at all even though we ended up being the last customers there. We ordered the Dragon Roll (our fave out of them all), Salmon Crunch Roll, & Spicy Tuna. We also ordered two Chicken Teriyaki/Chicken Katsu Bento Boxes; we all agreed the Chicken Katsu was delicious! The Himatchi & Tuna Shashimi were fresh (my son who tried it for the first time even enjoyed it). Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics before we inhaled all of our food. I often go here during work for my lunch breaks, and Chef Ken is an extremely friendly and fun guy! He and the rest of the staff really do seem to care about the customers, and I always like to talk about films with him. He has posters of his favorite films posted around the walls. The music is also nice with a lot of jazz standards in the background. Usually I get the bento box, which runs me about $20 for three entree items! And the food usually comes out really fast. I usually take photos of my food and the presentation is also impeccable. After only a couple of times of trying, this has become a personal favorite of mine!
