service was fast and efficient and the food was your standard small sushi restaurant, the only thing i really would say is the katsu had the sauce on it already it would be much better on the side as well because it got soggy quick from the sauce being on it. needless to say would come back again great spot :)
Came here as soon as they opened and were seated right away. The restaurant is small and got packed right away. The menu is simple and caters to everyone: traditional rolls, sashimi, bentos, bowls, and more. I got the dragon roll and seaweed salad. Both satisfying and delicious. The ginger on the table was perfect. I didn't have to ask for more. Our server was great and attentive.
This is an unassuming, tucked away sushi and bento place with great quality food and quick service. We went here for lunch, and it was fortunate that we arrived before the rush, around 11:30, because it got quite packed! The service was friendly and fast, and they really do move to make sure you get in and out in no time. I got the two item bento, with salmon and chicken teriyaki, both of which were delicious and so flavorful. The chicken was cooked just right without being too dry. The miso soup was a bit on the salty side, but it was balanced with the rice and salad.
Very fresh sashimi, surprisingly pleasant as I was worried about the quality of the fish in such a hot day. The tempura are also freshly made and the fried pork tonkasu is well made. Because the hot food are freshly made there's a bit of wait time. Sashimi salad is fresh, I just wish the sauce isn't like soup sitting at the bottom. I had to use a spoon to fish out the bottom half of the salad. Our friend said the Ten Zara Soba sauce was too salty even there were ice cubes inside the sauce cup. The hostess is polite with a hospitable smile. But she's working all by herself and busy all the time. We didn't get a water refill and the husband chef stepped in to help with taking the check. They hung a lot of interesting posters in the wall, the DC hero and Marvel characters got a lot of stares.
We ordered the salmon delight roll, chicken karaage and bento with chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura. Fresh fish and huge portions! Service was great, too.

It's my first time trying this place and we ordered for takeout. This is what we ordered: Philly Roll(4/5): This is my go to roll for every sushi place and every time, I'm not disappointed. The salmon is buttery and the cheese is really creamy. I really like the texture that the roll gives. I kind of wished it was cucumber instead of avocado because it was a little too fatty for me. Spicy Tuna(3/5): The spice was tolerable and the taste was good, but I wished there was more cucumber. I probably would've given it a better scoring. Potato Croquette(3/5): I liked the crunch that it gave, but I felt like it lacked in flavor. The sauce that it came with had a vinegar taste and it really brought out the flavor that was hidden inside the croquette. Salmon Delight(5/5): Words can't describe how good this roll was. It was doused with spicy mayo and had huge amounts of salmon inside and outside the roll! Definitely my favorite out of the 4 items! Overall, a really good sushi place to go to and a place I would definitely come again!
Tried this place for the first time but wasn't very impressed. I had their two item bento box with sashimi and chicken teriyaki. Also had a sashimi appetizer. The sashimi was fresh but was not that thick. The appetizer was $17 for 6 pieces, not really a very good value. The chicken teriyaki tasted kind of funky. It didn't taste like any teriyaki I had before. The decor is very basic and service was reasonably good. Hot tea was free and our waitress did come to refill it a couple of times.
This is definitely our go to sushi spot now. Prices are reasonable, food was amazing. We got rolls and a bento box. I am picky with my miso soups and this place had a very good miso!

I really like how updated this small restaurant is. Well lit, and nice movie poster decorations which is very different from other places! The dragon roll was decent, a good size and well sauced. It was good but it didn't WOW me about the roll. Service was good despite it being packed towards the end of our visit. I prefer other sushi places like cha cha or ginza.
Got Chicken Katsu and Salmon Roll for the two items. Will say that the salmon roll was what I expected, not too grand since it is the leftover pieces from all the nigiri and sashimi they prepare. The katsu was very tender and fried well, would've liked the tonkatsu sauce on the side (just not a sauce girlie). They're pretty packed on the weekdays especially around lunch time so I'd go early or don't go with a huge table! I also ordered a yellowtail delight roll to go and that was very yummy. Next time I'll get the sushi and sashimi combo.
I ordered a bento box and could not believe the amount of food I received. Not only that, it was delicious! I ordered chicken teriyaki, which came with rice, a California roll, which had more pieces than your average bento box, my second side was veggie tempura with one shrimp, then there was salad and soup. Other restaurants have charged at least 5 to 7 dollars more for the same bento box maybe up to 10! I highly recommend!

Came here with a friend to buy some time while waiting for the Co Ba Desserts BOGO anniversary event. The service was friendly from what I could recall and there was a decent amount of seating with a calm ambiance (standard for a restaurant) so it wasn't too long of a wait. I decided to get the Combo Six (nigiri and sashimi) which came with an eel nigiri and a bowl of miso soup (soup not pictured). The eel nigiri tasted really good and the rest of the sushi also had a pleasant taste and texture. Overall, a pleasant experience. I'm not sure if I would return as it did seem a little pricy (and I don't usually go to the area where it's located), but I'm glad to have tried it while I was here. It was a wonderful addition to what was already a very nice day. read more
They were shut down! For "pest/rodent control" after reinspection was already completed!! I've ordered here per a recommendation and was satisfied but upon coming to pick up an order at a near by restaurant, that is still open with a passed current inspection, I seen that they had been closed with a note on the door and that all telling Red Issued Card posted at the doorway! WARNING NEXT DOOR AT SRI'S KITCHEN was being actively fumigated as I walked by! They remained open and I am unsure if they had recently also received a red notice from the Health inspectors department. YUCK! read more
Perfect spot for a work lunch, but I'd recommend getting there a little early because once noon hits the line gets pretty long...everyone in the area knows this place is good. Their bento boxes are awesome, super filling, and really affordable. And the sushi? Honestly so good for the price & generous portions! What really makes it special is the Auntie who's always serving. She's so sweet, takes great care of everyone, and makes you feel like you're at home. Definitely one of my favorite lunch spots near Levi's Stadium and my go-to when I want sushi around that area. read more

Always a welcoming environment, clean and ready to take customers. Food is great quality and fresh sushi is shady available. It's my favorite place to go to by myself it with friends. Prices are reasonable. They have different movie posters all over the wall which is a great conversation starter. I recommend coming here! read more

We came for lunch since we were in the area picking up race bibs. Its a small restaurant but busy with the lunch rush. There were 6 of us and we were seated quickly. We had bento boxes and some rolls. The spicy tuna hand roll was good but small. I tried the Mexicali roll and it was creamy and tasty I just wish it had some spicy to it. The hamachi fish was good as well as chicken teriyaki and tempura. Prices were pretty standard as well as the menu items. Service was fast and precise. Green tea was free. read more

Cute little restaurant with great food! Went here with a group of 6 and ordered gyoza, Yellowtail Delight, Dynamite Roll, Lion King, Rainbow Roll, Combo 1 (6 nigiri and California Roll), 2 California Rolls, and 2 Spicy Tuna Rolls. Everything was delicious and service was excellent. Glad we stumbled upon this place and I'm definitely coming back again! :) Side Note: They had DBZ playing. Loved that! read more

I had lunch this place today . It was so good . Especially today's lunch special Hamachi was so delicious . I'm very sensitive smell of fish but that wasn't fish smell and not salty . Also server is so kind too . Maybe I will be there again . read more
This sushi restaurant seemed to be an ef-fish-ient lunch choice for the companies in this area, because it quickly filled with employees during a weekday lunch hour. However, maybe because it was too crowded, the servers were not able to give us as much attention, bringing out extra drinks we did not ask for and forgetting the ones we ordered. Thankfully we were able to ask for the ones they forgot, and they rushed to bring them out. They have a large number of roll options I am able to eat (if I ask for them without sacue) in regards to my allergies. I appreciate how quick the servers are in response to the questions of the ingredients inside their rolls in regards to allergens. The menu had all the ingredients in the descriptions, and the visuals of the rolls also helped for quick discernment of possible allergens. I ordered the rainbow roll without sauce. The rolls come out with a side of wasabi and ginger, but my coworker's ginger was missing when they brought out his plate of I think Salmon Delight. My other coworker ordered the Crunch Salmon. We also all shared a Philadelphia role. The rainbow roll was fine, but I usually have more generous, fatter sushi rolls at other restaurants. I was a bit underwhelmed with the Philadelphia role because it seemed small, and I feel like the cream cheese amount they put in was more than I usually have at other restaurants, and it overpowered the roll. The rolls are this restaurant are definitely a bit more expensive than at other restaurants, but I think it could be because this sushi restaurant is conveniently located near workplaces? This experience was overall a little disappointing and gingerless possibly because of how busy it was during the lunch hour I went, but I do believe this restaurant has decent sushi overall and a vast menu for people with allergies/special diet. I would be willing to give it another chance, and the convenience of the location is appealing. P.S. It was a joy seeing them have some cute anime figurines on display for decoration. That caught our attention and gave us a laugh. read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT It's a shame the previous owners tarnished the Sendo Sushi name because my experience was nothing like I had previously read online. The sashimi tasted fresh and had the right consistency. Teriyaki chicken was flavorful but not overly artificial and sugary. And the salmon was cooked to perfection with a wonderful flavor profile. The Dynamite and Crunchy Salmon rolls were of similar vein while also offering all the trendy accouchements that most modern sushi spots have nowadays. I would have to say, Sendo Sushi punches above it's weight class and the pricing was extremely competitive for the quality of food you're getting. I can comfortably say Sendo is one of the better eateries in the North San Jose area. read more

My nephew from Benicia highly recommended this sushi restaurant in San Jose. Sendo Sushi is under new management. I know, you'll say, "all sushi restaurants are the same" but you have to consider the friendliness of the owner, staff and ambiance too. The new owners have made changes that reflect who they are and it shows in the variety and quality of the food they serve. I recommend this place highly. read more

This is my second visit to Sendo Sushi. The restaurant is clean, small and cozy, and nice music. Great, quick service. I ordered the vegetable Don bowl with steamed tofu and teriyaki sauce on the side. It was tasty and a good sized portion. My daughter ordered vegetarian combination with vegetable roll and vegetable tempura. I will come back and try vegetable rolls. read more

Happy to see on Yelp they are under new management. The previous management didn't have the best reviews so I didn't give it a shot until now. They were closing soon so I ordered take out. The lady who took my order was very kind. She even offered tea while I waited. The wait wasn't too long and the restaurant was modern, as well as clean. Plus, the sushi was tasty. We revisited Sendo Sushi yesterday and decided to try Ika menus because we are crazy fans of squid (Ika). so we ordered Ika sushi , Ika yaki( grilled whole squid) , tempura Ika and other rolls. MUST TRY ALL IKA MENUS !!!! So fresh, So tasty, So crispy !!! We will be back next week !! read more

We found a sushi place when we visit san jose to meet my friends. My wife asked if special order is possible for veggie lunch box. Veggie lunch was great and my tempura udon was delicious too. I will definitely visit again next time. read more

I often go here during work for my lunch breaks, and Chef Ken is an extremely friendly and fun guy! He and the rest of the staff really do seem to care about the customers, and I always like to talk about films with him. He has posters of his favorite films posted around the walls. The music is also nice with a lot of jazz standards in the background. Usually I get the bento box, which runs me about $20 for three entree items! And the food usually comes out really fast. I usually take photos of my food and the presentation is also impeccable. After only a couple of times of trying, this has become a personal favorite of mine! I'll be returning here again soon. read more
