We were staying in downtown and it was late and we've all been craving Korean BBQ for the whole weekend! Everywhere else was closed. So glad we found this place that is open 24 hours! We crammed 6 of us in a 5 seater and drove 30 minutes to Duluth. We were determined to get KBBQ in Atlanta before we left! This is not an AYCE place but that was fine with us. Not sure what we ordered but it was a meat set that was $99 and enough for 6 people plus panchan of course. The servers did all the grilling for us. The meat was definitely better quality than the AYCE places. We enjoyed everything! Maybe my standards are low (and we were delirious and hungry) but I really liked the meat. The atmosphere is very traditional. There were several other tables of customers. I could see that a lot of people order the hot stone dishes and soups. Me and my co workers decided to eat Korean BBQ after work on a Sunday night at around 11pm. We saw that iron age was closed and the only other place that was open other than Waffle house or Ihop was this place, so we decided to try it out. The menu was a bit confusing given that none of us were korean. We realized that there weren't really any unlimited meat options so we chose one of the meat sets that hopefully would've made us full and content. The service was meh.. looked like they were all just really tired and I don't blame them, but they could've been more apologetic especially when one of my co workers tried to tell them there was a fruit fly in one the sauces. The lady didn't even glance over, she just rushed to get him new sauce. Meat was alright. It made me full but for the guys in the group, they definitely could've had more. With a rather large party of 10, we pre-ordered the set course menu. Service was a combination of rushed and slow, if that's even possible. We all felt really rushed to eat each dish and have it snatched away quickly, while whenever we asked for anything (water, naeng myun, to-go boxes), it came at a snail's pace. I know this restaurant long time but never been there until today. OMG!! Their foods are amazing!! But before I talk about their menu, I need to talk about what kind of service we got today. Me and my friend got there around 12:30 pm, and the hostess was stacked with other customers at the door so we were just waiting and checking their menu. Those customers left couple minutes later but the hostess was still doing something without greeting us. We were wondering if this place just let customers take a table by themselves. We asked her if it is okay to take any table by ourselves. She said No, so we waited couple minutes more at the door. Looks like she doesn't speak English well. We got table finally but one server was going to take another customers who came there after us to the table before us. It took little while to get Banchans. They were busy but looks normal lunch time for me. We ordered two Galbi Lunchbox and one Bibinmyon for share. We dont know exactly time but we waited more than 30 minutes!!!! Other customers who came there after us were getting their order but not us. We thought that we don't get food because we are not Korean... lol But we saw their servers are disorganized, and they had two big groups in their party room. We loved their kimchees, we will buy them if they sell individually. Bibinmyon was so delicious, their menu says it is spicy, but it's not. The sauce is perfect! Galbi was tender and has great flavor. The lunchbox has tempra, green salad, two piece of sushi rolls, jon, omlet and rice. Lots of food!! They brought hot soup and cold soup, hot one was not good. I have dined here a few times and every time it's been great. It's hard to see the restaurant from the road. Look out of their street sign. It's great that this place is opened 24 hours and I believe seven days a week. It's not too busy every time we go -- which is after midnight. They decor is very nice. Half of the restaurant is like a Korean BBQ place with built-in-grills and the other half are tables that are booth like with small walls between each table. There are also private dining rooms for large groups. There are several televisions scattered around the establishment playing Korean dramas. When you enter, there will be a song or tune that plays which lets the employees know that there are customers. Food: We've tried the galbi tang, yook gae jang, and the bibimbap. All of these dishes are great. The galbi tang is a soup made with short ribs. It is not spicy and very delicious. It's something you would eat if you were sick. It's like the Korean version of chicken noodle soup. The yook gae hang is a red and spicy soup loaded with shredded beef, green onions, glass noodles, and veggies. Don't let the red color scare you from ordering this. It's not too spicy. If you can eat hot wings then you can eat this. The bibimbap can be ordered in two ways, just rice with the veggies in a bowl or rice, veggies, and beef in an extremely hot bowl. I always order my bibimbap in the hot bowl. If you do so, make sure you stir or mixed your rice soon after getting your dish or else your rice will get too crispy at the bottom. The banchan or side dishes are always plentiful and you get complimentary refills -- I believe you get eight banchan dishes per table. Overall, I will continue dining here in the future. first time here in a long time. im sure ive been here before but of course its changed. my family and i went to try it out. my mom would probably give a 3 star but it was good to me. my parents got the goat soup hot pot, i got cabbage and beef soup, my brother got tofu soup and my boyfriend had bibimbap. my soup tasted different from my normal soup place but it wasnt bad. i loveedd the side dishes they gave out, my favorite being the gelatin thingy (idk what its called in english). i think the dishes werent typical korean style eith little tweaks but it was good. my favorite was the goat soup my parents had. my brothers tofu soup with la ribs was a but pricey being at $25. i want to try the bbq next time maybe when i have more money to spare haha read more

I haven't eaten Korean BBQ in a while. Seo Ra Beol (I like how the name is in camelCase. Maybe a Java programmer named this place) didn't seem that bad. It also surprised me to read this place has connections with Han Il Kwan, since it tasted decent. The prices seemed fair, and everything tasted good. The service did seem a bit lacking since they forgot to give us rice until much later. They also open 24/7, good for us, but not good for the employees. Oh well, at least we consumers can have decent Korean BBQ at 4 AM if we get the urge. read more

Came here during my visit to Georgia and thought this place was pretty good. I didn't have much expectation since I was new to the area, but it was spacious, organized and the menu was extensive. Like most Korean BBQ places, do not wear nice clothes or bring a change of clothes because you will smell like grilled meat afterwards. Even though each table has a fan, the smoke and oil will get on you. Love how this place is 24 hours and it gets really busy as the night goes on. I came here during prime dinner time and it was quiet and empty. But it was great because we got a lot of attention from the staff and they even helped us grill the meat at a different table. One con about this place, they limit you on the appetizers. I don't think I have ever been limited on the app dishes before but maybe they get a lot of hungry young folks? Anyways, that peeved me a little. I should have as much kimchi as I want. I am already paying at least 20 dollars worth of grilled meats/soups. No matter how much or sincere your apologies to me and my party for TERRIBLE service we will NOT be returning. I had the courtesy to call in a reservation for a party of 7 for BBQ dinner for Saturday night at 7:45PM. You gladly accepted but when we showed up on time you assigned us to a 6-top without a hood vent. A hooded table opened up a few minutes after we sat at the smallish table and we kindly asked to move to the larger hooded table. Your staff checked with a female supervisor and she personally came over to us and said okay and that she will set up the new table. Our party begins to move and sit down at the new table YET another older, male supervisor comes over and had the audacity to tell us that we cannot sit there. He then RUDELY proceeds to sit another party down at the table without any explanation and, in effect, PUSHES us out of that table and LEAVES US STANDING. Such POOR SERVICE caused me to immediately WALKOUT of your restaurant. I will NOT deal with incompetence and inconsiderate service...no matter if your food is amazing or not. Not a single person at your restaurant has the floor management skills to resolve such a simple matter. The older lady hostess, the male supervisor, the female lead waitress...pathetic. You know the food will be very authentic when you are the only non-Asians in the restaurant. I'll start with the detractor as there is really only one. The restaurant looks a bit run down. The food was very good. I would rate the bachan a bit higher than most KBBQ places in the area. One of the sides was a crab dish that while tasty was a big spicy for my tastes - but I freely admit to being a wuss. Most folks that like spice will love it. The meat was excellent. We got the short ribs and the bulgogi. Usually, the bulgogi is the best meat. Although the bulgogi was excellent, the short ribs blew it out. My daughter, who will frequently pass up everything else to get the bulgogi, even said the short ribs were amazing. There were plenty of sides as you would expect, and the soup was really good. My daughter was thoroughly impressed that they had kimchi pancake - and it was great. I usually avoid anything with actual kimchi. Had a friend who's wife made kimchi and you had to leave the room because she made it so strong, so I have bad memories. However, the kimchi pancake was great!! I can't come here without my parents. The give my parents excellent customer service because they've been eating here for years. If you're here with your friends, they give you really bad service and they nag about how much you tip. We tipped 18% even though service was horrible and the lady refused to give change so that she can get more tip. This place has a reputation of waitresses asking for more tips. read more

Disclaimer: I only get cold noodle soup and kalbi here. Based upon those two, it's pretty darn good. I remember when myungawon had really good kalbi when they first opened. Now, its terrible. I had been searching for a good nengmyun place for a while. My friend said the kalbi and the nengmyun here was good so I went about six months ago with Kungfu to give it a whirl. The kalbi is muy expensivo but it's worth it. Then again, what kalbi place doesn't charge like $20-22 dollars per order, right? Well, unless you're sticking to Chowon, which is ok. It's not too sweet, not too salty, and it's pretty good. I'd say it's the best in Atlanta for kalbi. My biggest gripe about all Korean bbq places are that yeah, its nice that they cook it for you, but they cook you the meat too damn fast. I eat slow, and so does the rest of my family, and we need to keep telling them to slow down on cooking the meat. If it stays on the grill for too long, it'll get overcooked and hard. They keep shoving the cooked kalbi off to the side, but its still getting heated. It really irks me like no other. Do I look like a sumo wrestler? Do I look like I can scarf down a grill full of kalbi within 5 minutes? Anyways, I digress. Nengmyun, or cold noodle soup, I'm a real big picky eater when it comes to this. My grandparents and parents are originally from North Korea. They migrated down to the south about 5 years before the Korean War. So they take their nengmyun seriously. I grew up eating nengmyun about at least three times a month ever since I was a kid. When we lived in Korea, we frequented pretty famous nengmyun places in Uijungbu and Seoul (they're called myun-ohks in Korea, I need to ask my grandma about the place she used to take me to for her high school reunions). I think their nengmyun noodles are too chewy for their own good. It's really hard breaking them off. I also feel like its a bit too slimy, and nengmyun, the trick is in how you wash the noodles after they're cooked. You have to pour ice water on top and have to wash it in this special way or else its just chewy, and not the way its supposed to be. I think the broth is too sweet for my taste so I add in vinegar and yellow mustard to counteract that. I like the toppings, its traditional with sliced beef brisket, pickled daikon, cucumbers, half of a hard-boiled egg, and slices of Asian pear. It's good for something in the States, but I think personally, making it at home just tastes much better (ever had nengmyun with pheasant broth with pheasant meat on top? it's the best). It's still my favorite place to take my grandma when she wants to go out for nengmyun, and a go-to place when I want kalbi. I hope they keep up with the good food, as on my last visit, I thought the nengmyun broth was way too sweet. read more

It had all my favs like Oiji, Ggakdugi and Musaengchae. 4 orders of Galbi cooked over wood coals (if you are in a grill room)....very very tender, barely any fatty pieces and not a bite left. The banchan was there too, but only average @ best. To make a short story shorter, the place needs a little time to get their feet wet and the kitchen seasoned. Seo Ra Beol has such a high score, I've debated whether or not it deserves 2 stars. After talking to my friends who met me for dinner. We concluded yes. This is what happened. I got there early and asked for a table for 3, the waitress just told me to seat myself so I did but I waited and waited, no menu. I decided to get up since I didn't see my friends yet. I waited for them and then another waitress took us to another table that was different from where I sat earlier. We weren't ready to order and she seemed kinda annoyed with the facial expression on her face. When we finally were able to order, she couldn't explain to me what kind of meat was in the dish. I just told her to make it vegetarian, just in case. No one came and refilled our water after sitting there a while with an empty glass. I had to ask for a refill. That's one of my pet peeves at a restaurant. The food is not bad. The banchan is okay, I've had better. The checks was brought to us but we sat there still chatting, even though we aren't finished. The waitress came by our table at least three times trying to see if we put a credit card or cash. She finally asked us to hurry up and pay. Really? That really annoyed me. Heard this place has good cold noodle so instead of going to my usual cold noodle place, I came here. Disappointed! Four of us came and immediately the server asked if we want to do dinner or bbq. In restaurants like this, if you want bbq then you'll be seated in a table with grill and there will be an air vent to suck out all the smoke. If you want just dinner then you'll be seating on the opposite side on the regular tables. We told the server, we want to do dinner. Like AC full blasted cold. It was to vent out the smoke. Four of us ordered Cold Noodle and Kalbi Combo $23. Cold Noodle by itself $13. Spanish Mackerel (they didn't have the Spanish Mackerel so I got the regular Mackerel) with "Dan Jang Soup" (type of soy bean soup) $15. It took the awhile to bring out the food. They took out about 6 Ban chans (side dishes). They weren't really impressive. What I did notice is that other tables had more banchans than we did. Not sure if it's because they ordered BBQ and we didn't. Once the food came out, we started to dig in. My Mackerel was big and meaty. Just a bit overlooked because it was bit tough to chew. "Dan Jang" soup was tasty but salty. It was like, they're almost out and gave me the bottom of pot soup where all the flavors and pieces are. I had to add water to dilute the salty taste. Cold noodles were nothing special. Had lot of ingredients on top but it was just ok. Kalbi had only few pieces of meat. Think layered meat. Not worth the money. Service was slow. There were only two servers working. They were getting busy and never bothered to stop by at our table. I had to ask repeatedly for tea. Overall, I did not have a good experience here. I agree with Elliott L. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT! They do not understand who pays their bills. I went in around 9:00 last night and wanted to sit at a grill for bulgogi. First I all, they were not crowded and I was immediately ushered to the rear of the restaurant. I told them I would like to sit at a grill, reluctantly I was seated at the grill. One server came by and said I couldn't sit at a grill because it was for a minimum of 2 people (didn't see policy anywhere) and with just one person it would create too much smoke. Really? Another server said we will make an exception this time only and let me sit at the grill but I had to order the short ribs which is not what i wanted. After 10 minutes of getting the run around I finally said, "obliviously I'm creating too much trouble", apologized and left. There are too many good Korean BBQ restaurants around Atl who want your business and are happy to have you in their establishment. Not these folks! Overall, it was a good first time experience but I wouldn't go back again. We ordered the galbi jjigae and it tasted like water... there was absolutely no flavor. We had to eventually take the fully, barely touched dish home to make it taste good. Also our rice was pretty hard so that means that it was old or the lids were not fully sealed. Luckily they gave us new rice. The music played in the restaurant sounded like a baby's night time lullaby... I was falling asleep... the staff however was very polite and worked very quickly. This is your fairly standard Korean restaurant. My parents love coming here, it's their sort of fail safe restaurant whenever we're close by. I like the combo galbi+cold noodle or galbi+soft tofu soup. They refill banchans if you ask, but it depends on the waitress you have since some will just automatically drop more without you needing to say anything. They have an area for when you want to grill meat and another section of the restaurant where it's more kitchen food. Regardless both are pretty good. My only downside is they can be a little slow in service, even with the push button to get their attention. It's not enough to turn me away as a customer, but just makes me more wary every time I go. read more

Not your traditional KBBQ place that is in Duluth. Its definitely not "hip" or "club like" like the other ones. This place actually cooks your meat for you and directly in front of you. The service is pretty phenomenal. If you're not familiar with KBBQ, they were great about making recommendations and giving you an honest opinion. The only downside is that they don't have rice wrappers!!!! The ban chans were pretty good as well. I ordered the seafood bimibop (sp?) and it was soooo freaking good. It's served in an oversized skillet so that you can mix all the vegetables and seafood in together. They served a small selection of banchan (anchovies, spinach, pickled something, kimchi, bean sprouts) so I wasn't too impressed with that aspect. However, what they lacked in banchan they made up in flavor with the bimibop. Their lunch specials run about $10.99 and up. I'll definitely come again for lunch. read more

We waited for over 30 minutes before anyone came and acknowledge that we were seated and were waiting to give an order. We pressed the service button numerous times with no acknowledgent. The only thing we received were the two drinks that we ordered. We saw two groups of people who came in after us receive their food before we were even able to place an order. It seemed like none of the servers wanted to bother with us. We finally got fed up, paid for our drinks, and left. Maybe, I just haven't had Kbq in a long time or I am just tired from having consecutively eaten Samgyeopsal through several outings, OTP, and at home. Regardless, I can say SeoRaBeol thoroughly hit the spot. Upon entering, our group, hungry as it were, paused to survey the premises, and took in a sweet variety of smells and memories. We turned to each other, silently acknowledging/confirming that we were about to enjoy a great meal; all the while, the threshold bell, repeatedly rung and welcomed us, as we failed to move beyond the doorway, unable to snap out of our drooling stupor. Oh, thank you so much for using burning wood, and having good portions. I think it was two, or maybe three platters of Pul-Kogi (above average quality), delicious Pan-chan (missing some of my favorites, but included raw-marinated crab legs), Hae-Mul-Pa-Jun, bean-paste soup (tastes different from japanese miso), a spicy mackerel fish stew with bone-in, and to top it all off was Shik-Hae. After the first sip of that malty, chilled, rice drink, I was determined not to let any of it go to waste; even if we had left quite a bit of Pan-chan across the table, I wouldn't feel bad anymore after savoring this desert.
