this was actually the worst bbq place i've ever been to, to a point where i only ate one bite of meat and only ate cold noodles and corn cheese (which were also not even good) meat was so dry and chewy. brisket was so thick it didn't even feel like brisket. the smell of smoke was so overwhelming and the meat was consistently burning even when we didn't cook it straight on top of the grill yelp review all says service was horrible but we had no problems there $40 for bad quality meat and grill that burnt all the meat... no thank you i will never be back

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in LA area! We will have at least twice every month! Even though we drove 1 hr form Irvine! They have the most authentic 东北BBQ! We love the meat here and the service it's really friendly and nice! The place is tight and bit small but doesn't affect us at all! You have to try the Yogurt! Overall 9.5/10

Not a bad place. Only problem I have is when you are waiting around for more charcoal since you have to wait about 20 minutes. Meat quality is okay not the greatest but not the worst one out there. I enjoyed the beef tongue and the boneless short rib one the most. Cold noodles are also good here. They give you the sesame sauce and this cumin chili powder spice right when you sit. Location isn't the biggest so make sure you get there before the dinner rush. And not the greatest for big parties. Different compared to other places since it has charcoal since it gives that smokey flavor. Parking is a little trouble since it is in a small plaza but hopefully find parking on the street near by. Would go again with some other people.

This is my second time at the restaurant and to be fair, it's a decent place with pros and cons. First the price definitely increased and we were given this cheese+milk+sweet corn appetizer that felt out of place for a bbq (esp chinese) restaurant. Some tables didn't even bother to open the container. The service was quick and helpful, but don't expect the happy-go-lucky waiters at American/Italian restaurants that goes above and beyond. I felt like the waiters definitely optimize for efficiency, and getting things done. Lastly, I really like the mixed veggie salad with squid AND cold noodle! We asked for no spicy salad and they made one for that. The sauce was sweet and tangy, which helped to balance the taste of the meat.

I love me a charcoal bbq! The flavors are enhanced with the Smokey charcoal flavor. The gave out really big portions which is nice but at the same time not really. We were pretty much full after the first round but managed to sneak in another round and an order of clams. The ribeye was nice and tender and dipping it into the cumin just made my tastebuds dance. Chicken cartilage was top tier! I honestly would come back just for that. As for the sides, it was nice and spicy. The pickled cabbage was the spiciest. Overall this place was pretty good, the only downside is the fact that they don't really give you plates. Which was confusing, but we ordered some veggies and used those as plates lol. Also I recommend going early because it does get pretty crowded and there's not that much seats.

Came here by 7:00 pm on a Thursday and it was packed! But only one party was in front of us, so the wait time was not long. They have you photograph the menu and take that to your table. The meal comes with lettuce leaf, cheese corn, and banchan. I recommend the short rib and the beef tongue. They packed in a number of bodies, but I did not feel pinched in at all. Solid neighborhood place.

Pretty decent spot for Chinese Charcoal BBQ. The reviews in the past complained about service and tipping issues. My family and I had a different experience. Came on a Sunday night around 5:30-6:00 pm, and the place was packed. Fortunately for us, they still had a couple of available tables as it was freezing cold outside. The wait to be seated was about 10-15 minutes. Upon sitting down, the waiters and servers kind of expect you to know Chinese, but if you start speaking English, you'll notice quite quickly that most of them are quite fluent at it. Ordering food was really easy. You can choose up to 5 dishes at a time. And they bring out the food very quickly. Unfortunately, we still had to wait for them to bring out the charcoal and the grill itself, which took much longer than ordering our food and drinks. Service overall was good. When the fire was too big, the waiters knew to bring an extra grill for us without us asking for one. Or to change grills when we have overused one for too long. However, there were small things overlooked. For instance, refilling water and taking away trash. But they were kind of busy, so I wouldn't nock down a star for this. As we wind down to the end, we were thinking of scenarios of servers stopping us because of the whole tipping issues that past reviews brought up. Let me just say it did not happen. However, we did have one waiter blatantly stare at the receipt as we asked for more napkins. So it could have happened? Who knows? The overall experience was good for a chilly night. Not sure if I prefer this over KBBQ or JBBQ though. I would recommend to try at least once tho.

So dirty and awful in here

This place has some less than ideal hygiene practices when it comes to their grill. You see they don't clean the grill but they use an oil over it to clean. The food is old, and very poor quality. I wouldn't recommend this place and suggest you guys try elsewhere. No one speaks English and the food is 3/10 quality.

Our new always go to BBQ place now! -all the four times we went, the service was good! -we always get their special #1 since the meat is marinated with their own sauce, and I haven't found anywhere has the same one in LA. It tastes just like my hometown bbq restaurants in northern China. -I love the free yogurt they give out at the end, it's also homemade and similar to Greek yogurt, very thick.

The food was amazing and all the meats were fresh taste with good quality. The other dishes tasted authentic Korean flavor. Services were good always checked on you see if more orders. However, if you wanna have a parking space gotta be earlier before 5pm. Also there will be a long waiting list after 6pm especially on weekends. Will go again for sure.

I did notice that there were quite a few smaller chunks of just flour. Shrimp fried rice is hard to mess up. Was also pretty solid. Pan-fried pork baos are tasty, filled with soup, and actually heated up well the next day in an air fryer too. Cost was reasonable and I enjoyed the food. Will certainly be back.

The fried squid was crispy, big pieces and not greasy, and we chose the mild spicy level but it was a bit spicy if you couldn't handle spicy at all. The potstickers had a juicy, well-seasoned filling. I recommended dip it on black vinegar. It tasted so good. Beef noodle soups had rich broth with tender beef, and the tendon was cooked perfectly. The Dan Dan noodles had a nice balance of nutty, and spicy flavors. Service was quick and didn't have to wait long for the food to come. Price is not that expensive and portion is decent. Restaurant is small and tables are closed to each other.

Interior is hardly decorated but has statement black and red tables and chairs haha. No one was dining in, but it seemed like Steam Fresh was popular for takeout. For us, a black sesame roll (could be a snack or dessert), four orders of steamed pork siu mai, two orders of juicy pork dumplings (soup dumplings), and a beef chow fun with soy sauce dish totaled to a little over $55. Everything came out piping hot and packaged well for takeout. We only waited about 15min, which was not bad at all. We really liked the siu mai and chow fun. Both were savory and addicting. Siu mai were especially juicy and meaty; they definitely satisfied our dim sum cravings. Soup dumplings were ok - I found the wrapper to be doughy and the filling kinda plain. The black sesame roll had an interesting rolled look and a sticky, chewy, jelly-like texture. It tasted like lightly sweetened black sesame paste mixed into what seemed like a combination of mochi and agar. The small parking lot in the back is free. We got lucky finding a spot in the late morning, but when we were ready to back out after getting our food, cars were either circling the lot or waiting for someone to leave.

As soon as we received the text saying our table was ready, we immediately headed back. It took us less than two minutes to return and within the five minute grace period that was stated in the text. When we arrived, the first staff member said they would check on our table. While they were looking, a second staff member asked for the queue number and then claimed we were "late" and had already given our table away which was A LIE. We were still within the five minute window from when we received the text. It's completely UNACCEPTABLE to give away a reserved table before the five minute grace period. If your text says guests have five minutes, then honor it. Don't make up your own rules and seat another party early, then expect the original guests to start over by putting their name back on the waitlist. That's not only disorganized. It's disrespectful to those who followed the text instructions. What made the experience even WORSE was the lack of accountability. Instead of trying to resolve the mistake, the first and second staff member ignored us after telling us to join the waitlist again, seemingly hoping we would just accept it or leave. At this point my party was waiting for about close to 10 minutes and the two staff members we spoke to would look and not approach us. A third staff member stepped in AFTER we approached the cashier. They acknowledged the situation, and found a way to seat us by adding an extra chair to our booth. Staff number three was the only person who actually made an effort to fix the restaurant's mistake. Your waitlist system is meaningless if your staff refuse to follow it. Either honor the five minute grace period or stop advertising it. We shouldn't have to put our name in the system again because your staff decided to seat another party before the five minute grace period. This could've been avoided and REFLECTS POORLY on your service and staff training.
