This spot has been on my radar for a while. I'm disappointed I didn't come sooner. Great service very friendly helped out choose their popular dishes. We didn't have to wait too long for a Friday night. Almost everything we got was really good. I got the beef noodle soup. But I got it with Mala spice. I will probably not get that anymore. I didn't know that mala meant numb. Thanks to another customer that let me know I won't be getting that anymore. That literally numbed my tongue. I felt a little strange didn't know what was going on until I was informed. But the noodles, the beef, the soup everything was really good. Good flavor. We got some dumplings and spicy wontons. They were perfect. Definitely getting this again. The only thing that I was a little disappointed was the Dan Dan Noodles. It had a sauce that I just didn't really feel. I can't wait to come back and eat some more and try something different.

Honestly came in with high expectations because the tiktok recs were so strong and I was so disappointed!! We stopped by on a Friday at noon and there wasn't a wait (but it got very busy afterwards). We ordered the beef noodle soup and pan fried buns. The food came very quickly but dang, everything was SO SALTY. The beef noodle soup needed about a cup of water and the soup in the buns were definitely on the salty side as well. Bill wasn't too expensive but probably won't be back :(. Easy parking in the back!

I always love coming here! At peak hours parking is atrocious and since it's a small spot there is usually a line outside. You could order take out by skipping the line and going straight inside. You order through a paper and the server will come and double check that it is everything you ordered. Inside was clean and they have a restroom in the back. I got the popcorn chicken, sesame noodles, and mango tea. Can never go wrong with a popcorn chicken. This was my first time trying their sesame noodles and it was delicious! It was nutty, chewy, and perfectly sauced up. I was even dipping the popcorn chicken in the sauce. The teas always come in HUGE cups. The mango tea is my favorite. I would say their tea is usually on the sweeter side. Safe to say this place never fails me.

P P Pop has been on my list for years, and I'm so glad it's checked off - and with little wait, too. (Expect 15 - 20 mins) Parking is abundant, since there are few businesses in this plaza. For starters, my friend and I shared the xiao long bao, popcorn chicken, and beef rolls. Our first item, the popcorn chicken, was divine - medium and fried to perfection, couldn't ask for better! The xiao long bao was next on the list, and these featured a more thick but still chewy skin. Unfortunately, two of ours were served "stuck together" which led to them breaking - sad! The last item, the beef rolls, were amazing as well. Not only is it a timeless classic, but the beef wasn't too dry. Between these tasty bites, we also shared a honey lemon green tea. My friend warned me about these mug sizes, and yes... one is probably enough for a table of four to share! This drink was super sweet, and it was definitely in need of dilution to be drinkable. Once your belly is full, though, good luck getting out! The space inside is fairly tight but nonetheless well worth a visit! Easily one of the best popcorn chicken in town!

Great food! Not my first time here and the food, service, ambiance has always been great here. Tiny bit of a wait but food always comes out at a decent time and perfect quality.

I've never had such delicious spicy braised beef noodle soup until I came here. Just a warning that it's actually quite spicy. My boyfriend got the devil's spicy beef noodle soup, which is definitely meant for spice lovers. The beef is incredibly tender, noodles taste fresh, and there's a generous portion of bok choy. The popcorn chicken is a must for the table. The xiao long bao, pan-fried shrimp and pork dumplings, and huge glass of passion green tea were also delicious. Highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back.

A long awaited, acclaimed Taiwanese place in the heart of the 626 near the border of Monterey Park, this institution has been a community gem for as long as I could remember. We typically order the fried buns, xiaolongbao and spicy beef noodle soups. It was delicious and hearty, and portions are always generous. The price is extremely competitive for this market! Would highly recommend.

Really good, would def come back more if there wasn't such a long wait. But for a first time, would recommend because the food is pretty good and actually spicy. Like the devil noodles were so spicy I had to split it into two meals because i almost started crying (and i can eat the howling at howling rays). Ambiance and service is typical of any 626 Asian restaurant. So crowded, loud but worth it. The beef rolls are deep fried which I actually prefer the regular way because you get more of the chew of the scallion pancakes. The popcorn chicken is huge so great deal, I got the wontons in a soup and it had the most flavorful wonton soup ever. Still, would recommend the wontons in chili oil though because they have some flavorful chili oil. Beef noodles were standard, wish it came with more tendon because they killed it with tendon.

I really did not know what to expect but was pleasantly surprized that the food was excellent and the restaurant nicely decorated. It was not crowded at 4:30, but it would be good to come early, as it's a small restaurant with not too much seating. I ended up taking the food home to my starving grandson and wife, who both enjoyed the food, which is known for its food quality and similarity to some of the most popular restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had about a 20-minute wait. When we were done eating there were still people waiting in line. The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. Even the green tea serving was surprisingly large. The service was excellent. Overall, a great experience, and we'd definitely come back!

So disappointed tonight!!! Be warned! We called at 7:22 to ask the wait time for our party of 6 and was told a 35-45 min wait. So instead of waiting outside for 45 min we opted to get to the restaurant later. We arrived before 8:15pm, and they close at 9pm. Yet, we were told they didn't have a table for 6 and they would only take "To go" orders. While we were deciding on our order and waiting for our food, several parties arrived after us (1 party of 2 and 1 party of 6 and at least 3 more parties of 2.) They actually told the 1 party of 6 they could seat them even though we were there first. The others they sent away or gave them menus to order take out. And to top it off we literally got the items at 8:59pm. They gave us one "free" milk tea for waiting (even though there were 2 of us waiting outside). This is a problem and the restaurant really needs to have a sign indicating that seating stops at "8:15pm" (or whatever time they choose). They should not post their closing at 9:00pm unless they say "last seating at __:__ __pm. I have to say that we like the food but the service tonight was bad. Not sure if this place is going to get my business again.

I have not visited P P Pop for a long time. I stopped by for lunch yesterday and it was a full house! I waited a few minutes for a table for two. After I sat down, more customers kept coming in. I'd avoid lunch time in the future if you don't want to wait for a table. While I waited, I was able to choose items on the menu. Once I sat down, I just gave the paper to the waiter and this speeds up the process. I absolutely love the big mug for their drinks. My favorite is the Green Apple Green Tea. I ordered Dan Dan Noodles and Steamed Pork and Leek Dumplings. My mom ordered Dan Dan Noodles also with Mango Green Tea. You have to mix in the noodles and you can taste a bit of spicy flavor underneath. AC is blasting and I did not feel hot at all. You can park at the market parking lot in the front and walk over. I'd love to stop by again during non rush hours!

considering they use peanuts in some of the dishes you should ask them if they are careful about cross contamination. and bring an epipen

Do you take reservations for large groups?

The restaurant is extremely small and is often times really quick with seating so a large party would probably be split up. I wouldn't recommend a large party to come at eat - to-go is probably best.

Yes you dine in or order take away too

No, but this restaurant has 2 other sister locations, Mr Dragon Noodle House at Diamond Bar and Mr Dragon Noodle House at Rosemead.

not when we went a couple of months ago!

I was surprised when we were here on a weekday service wasn't as quick as the weekends, but it makes sense since it's anticipated to be slower. We ordered A LOT so I'll just touch upon some dishes: -Our favorite item was the egg tart but maybe because it came straight out of the oven so it was piping hot. The crust was super flaky, and custard was velvety smooth and not too sweet. We were so tempted to get seconds but we were too full. -The bean curd wrapped with shrimp and pork was on point as well. -The chicken feet didn't really meet expectations. Normally I like it, but I wasn't impressed by this one. -the ham sui gok was good but I feel like it could've used more filling -fried rice had big juicy shrimp but rice was on the saltier side -Inconsistent crystal wrapper textures across all the different crystal skin dumplings. Some mushy, which I don't like. Some chewy, which I do like. The fillings were delicious though. Cart workers are a little pushy when it came to dishes they wanted to get rid of. We got the roast duck but it wasn't very meaty or flavorful. We got the congee which was ok, but lacked any definite personality. The chewy fried dumplings were more dough than filling. The siu mai and veggie dumplings were both solid. I didn't try the bitter melon or turnip cakes because I don't like the taste of either, but I was happy to see them available. We got a claypot rice dish with spare ribs and Chinese sausage which was good but the rice was not crispy on the bottom. I saw they had chicken feet, which I usually love but they didn't look appetizing enough to order. Would definitely go back for other dishes and with more people so we could sample more selections.

We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

The good part about the beef noodle soup was the beef chunks weren't too dry nor fatty. The noodles, however, didn't taste like the fresh hand pulled kind you'd find at other restaurants but rather the dried ones you can get at a supermarket (they tasted like the Quon Yick dry noodle). The broth isn't necessarily bland but I think it could have used more flavor. The soup dumplings had a generous filling, but there really weren't much flavors coming from the seasoning. It just tasted like pork and soup. The skin is a bit thicker than what I've seen at other places, but at least they didn't break. I wasn't a fan of the fried buns though. They were fried too crispy to a point that the skin was dry and crunchy and all the fluffiness was lost. Same with the soup dumplings, the filling could have used more flavor. The ones at Kang Kang Food Court would be the clear winner here. For the price, the portions are pretty fair. The menu is very limited, but it's very carb-focused, so it's not a great place if you're looking for alot of protein options. They don't really offer much in the vegetarian department.

Yes, that's how long this place has survived & for good reason. They were the first to serve fresh & tasty dim sum to-go for a reasonable price at good value due to their big portion sizes. However, my son & I, went there recently & ordered the usual Siu Mai, Baked BBQ Bun & Steamed BBQ bun. We usually call in our orders in advance to avoid the long wait outside but this time things seem off. Firstly, the lady cannot understand our order & we were put on hold while there seem to be a banter between her & a gentlemen inside for sometime. Secondly, when we finally got there & picked up the order, one of the items given was wrong. Instead of Char Siu Bao, we had Har Gow. So, we waited for another 15 minutes more to get the correct item. When we got home & opened the bags, the Siu Mai had gotten smaller & the worst part is that one of the Baked BBQ Bun had a cockroach pressed on the outside layer of the bun (see picture). I tried to contact the owner first to let them know so it can be corrected before posting it here but no one called. I know that this can affect their "safety food rating" & thus their sales. But if there was indeed a change in management or ownership, they need to fix the sizing portion & bug problem so they could live up to the history & expectations of their loyal clientele.
