Overall: 4 stars Vibrant Korean restaurant just a few streets below Koreatown proper with a fascinating bar menu and comfort Korean classics. The food was overall positive sentiment and the staff are pleasantly attentive. Unimami Bibimbap - Beautiful sea urchin rice bowl for $38. The uni is relatively sweet and not metallic, and pairs well with the abundance of flavor boosting garnish from the minty perilla to the pickled radish. The quinoa adds a delicious crispiness and the rice bowl is surprisingly filling. My favorite from Seoul Bap were the cocktails and sesame ice cream! The bibimbap was also excellent and probably what the golden standard should be. Portions were a little smaller than expected but I was definitely full

Really great brand new place on 27th. Nilsa is an excellent Bartender and just really personable and great service. The bar has about 12 seats and a huge TV screen. Just an intimate and cool place that you step down into. BimBimBap was really good and loved all of the veggies. The meat and beef was quite flavorful and I'll definitely come back again.

Overall we had a great experience! We were a group of 13~ people so it is a very good place for big groups. We decided to go with the fixed menu served as family style. The portion was generous and all the food tasted good. It seems like they really do use top quality ingredients. The service was very attentive, we didn't have to ask once for them to refill our water. Would def recommend this place for big group gatherings or a date but will make sure to bring cash as they do charge 3% fee for credit cards.

When I think of elevated Korean dining in NYC, Seoul Bap is one of the restaurants that comes to mind. They offer an extensive alcoholic and non alcoholic menu, with a great variety of hearty and delicious Korean dishes to go with it. We ordered their steak tartare, Korean fried chicken, burrata tteokbokki, and bossam before ending the night with their matcha panna cotta. Their food is flavorful and packs a spicy kick. This is the perfect spot to grab food with friends, date night, or celebration. Do grab a reservation before you go!

Really really good food and amazing drinks. Service is friendly and fast. Make sure to make reservations. Ambiance is hip. But place IS quite pricey! But worth it if you love good Korean food

Korean Fried Chicken. $20. Alright. Get the fried mushrooms instead

I was at this unique Korean restaurant with one of my groups a while ago. The lighting was a tad dark for photos, and the service was friendly. As per usual in that group, we split a bunch of dishes, with us mostly ordering meat. To start, I had a drink from their extensive cocktail menu that's no longer available, called the Night Cap, with Seoul Night soju, Won Mae soju, lemon juice, and thyme syrup for $18 or $19. I remember it being tasty, lightly boozy, and a good sipper throughout the night. Two of the others enjoyed the $18 Korean Pear with pear-infused soju, honey, lemon, and demerara. From the small plates, we got two fried dishes. The better of the two was the tasty $17 Crispy Mushrooms with fried shiitake, king oyster/oyster mushrooms, yuzu kosho mayo, gochujang sauce, and pickled radish. The mushrooms have a nice texture, still retaining a bit of chew but having some crispiness. The yuzu kosho dipping sauce was delicious, with mild spice and a citrusy zing from the yuzu, and we enjoyed it enough to use it with the other appetizer. Our other small plate was the pretty good Korean Fried Chicken for $20, consisting of seasoned, battered bite-sized chicken thigh pieces that were double-fried. They were pretty standard, with a decent portion, but I preferred the texture at some other spots, including some of the better Korean chains, and I also found their yangnyeom a bit light. This was alright. The first to arrive of the larger plates was the Burrata Ttoekbokki for $23, consisting of spicy Korean rice cakes, spicy sausages, scallion & fish cakes in a traditional creamy, sweet and spicy pepper-based sauce. This was a tasty rendition and almost reminded me of the rosé style as the mixed-in burrata added some creaminess and reduced the spiciness. The tteoks/rice cakes had a good texture, and there was plenty of eomuk/fish cakes. This was good. Next was another favorite, the Bossam for $36 with slow-cooked pork belly served with lettuce wraps, house ssamjang sauce, and radish kimchi. The pork belly was cooked nicely, with not too much fat. The ssamjang had good flavor with a bit of spice and a bit of funk to cut down the rich pork belly. This was comparable to any of the better Korean spots, and I would recommend this. Another solid dish was the Cast Iron Bulgogi for $35, with tender brisket in a traditional Korean marinade with mushrooms, carrots, chives, and caramelized onions, grilled and served on cast iron. The portion size was surprisingly large, and I liked the amount of mushrooms, as many places don't bother and just add a lot of filler vegetables. I also appreciated that the marinade wasn't super sweet. The most expensive and most different from other Korean spots was the Galbi Jjim at $55, with tender braised short rib served over parsnip puree, a chimichurri drizzle, and microgreens. This is usually served in a vessel similar to the aforementioned bulgogi, with some potatoes and jujubes usually included. Also, the meat was still on the bone in two very large pieces, rather than mixed with the braise. Aside from the differences, this was tasty, with the meat falling off the bone while still retaining some texture. The chimichurri was a tad light, so the dish was maybe a bit rich. This was good, but I would recommend splitting it, which makes sense at this price. In the sea of Korean spots, this place stands out for some unique options that mostly work. There wasn't exactly a bad dish among anything we had, and the okay dishes were still good. While I prefer other similarly modern Korean spots for specific dishes like Ollie, I'll keep a high rating given the excellent overall quality.

    Yellowtail crudo with uni

Seoul Bap seriously delivered from start to finish The hamachi crudo + uni were insanely fresh, the crispy mushrooms disappeared in seconds, and the octopus dubu pork was packed with flavor. The bossam with rice was also SO satisfying. The drinks? Strongggg LOL. Whoever made the Mezcal Negroni and Midnight Hibiscus was not playing around But the panna cotta dessert OMG... easily one of the best parts of the meal. Creamy, delicate, and perfectly balanced. Great service too. Honestly couldn't even find something to nitpick even if I tried haha.

I honestly couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. Just when I thought Manhattan didn't have very good Korean restaurants this one comes to blow my mind. My friend ordered the $55 pre fixe menu for her birthday and they put her name on each menu which was so cute. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. The menu was family style and included four appetizers, four entrees, and two desserts. I especially loved the yuzu fish appetizer, the Korean fried chicken appetizer, the galbi jjim entree and the squid entree. I will definitely be coming back!

Loved this restaurant! I came here on a Tuesday night with a group of four. I was the first in my party to arrive and was seated right away. We had a spacious booth at the front of the restaurant so I didn't see much of the decor further inside but from a glimpse, it was modern and intimate. The menu had lots of tempting options. The crispy mushrooms were phenomenal. Remarkably crunchy, yet they melted in your mouth. The accompanying yuzu sauce was light, but paired nicely. I also enjoyed the corn cheese, which was rich with melty cheese and topped with two pieces of fried cauliflower. For my main, I had the bibimbap with mushrooms. All the veggies were fresh. The rice was hearty and the sauce provided sweet flavor with a subtle spice. The desserts were also not to be missed. The mango yuzu cake was light and fruity. The mango puree was deliciously sweet. The matcha panna cotta was smooth and creamy, with a satisfying matcha tea flavor. Our waitress was delightful and patient. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Food and service were great! We went as a group of 8 so it was a mandatory prix-fixe menu. There are options for $45, $55, and $65 with substitutions allowed. We opted for the $65 menu which included 5 appetizers, 5 entrees, and 3 desserts. There was way too much food and we had leftovers. We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us champagne on the house for celebrating, which was very sweet. Highlights included the galbi jjim which was falloff the bone tender, spicy octopus and pork belly, mango yuzu cake which was refreshing and slightly tart, and the sesame ice cream which was very sesame forward! For a party of 8, we had 1 sesame tofu salad, 2 corn cheeses, 2 hamachi crudos, 2 fried chickens, 2 beef tartares for appetizers. For entrees, we had 2 galbi jjims, 2 mushrooms bibimbaps, 2 burrata tteokbokkis, 1 bossam, 1 spicy baby octopus and pork belly. For desserts, there were 2 mango yuzu cakes, 2 matcha panna cottas, and 2 sesame ice creams.

Recently went to Seoul Bap and I am not kidding when I tell you and it was the best modern Korean food I've had. The spacers is warm, modern with the perfect cozy, elevated vibe.We started with the burrata tteokbokki which was soft, chewy rice cakes in a spicy gochujang sauce, topped with creamy burrata that just melts into everything. Then the hamachi yuzu crudo was super fresh slices of fish with a bright citrusy yuzu kick and a clean, delicate finish. The japchae with crispy shimeji mushrooms--perfectly chewy noodles, slightly sweet and savory, with those mushrooms adding the best crunch. Of course, had to get the bibimbap with a fried egg with warm rice, seasoned veggies, and that runny yolk bringing it all together. And the Fuji apple and Yama salad--light, refreshing, a little sweet, and the perfect balance to everything else. If you love Korean food, this spot is absolutely worth trying.

Really great Korean spot with a great vibe and fantastic food and cocktails. We had the old fashioned, which comes smoked and cured table side, and the bourbon bee hive. Both were nicely balanced and worth the price. We ordered a little bit of everything and the Korean fried chicken was the clear winner, somehow maintaining a lot of crunch under a thick layer of sauce. Also ordered was the fried dumplings, the bulgogi, and japchae with spicy pork, the latter being our second favorite dish of the night. We skipped dessert to grab another cocktail nearby, but we saw a lot of black sesame coming out of the kitchen. I don't know how we managed to get a last minute reservation given that K town restaurants are always packed, but perhaps not being on 32nd street is a helpful start. Either way, highly recommend.

We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

We had an extra person when we checked in and they happily added her to the rez. We just had to wait about 15 mins which was fine. We were seated around 7:30pm. It was busy and bustling in the upstairs bar. We were seated at a spot resembling a coffee table(s) with chairs / ottomans surrounding it. I got the martini. It was a fun play with the green curry and saffron. This place is a little loud, so it is not easy to have a convo with your party. I am old so this probably wouldn't have been something I clocked in my younger years. They do have food which looks intriguing. Especially anything with truffles on it. If in the area, would definitely consider coming back for a quick drink and bite. REVIEW #4013

Top recommendation for apps: the fried tuna nigiri bites. The duck ball things were really good too, and the truffle fries. Heads up, there's absolutely no phone service in the downstairs area (which is spacious and great for a big party), but they have wifi that works really well which is great. Would definitely come back here for dinner sometime.

Angel helped guide our order, paced the food well for a group, and made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Drinks were a highlight: bright, refreshing cocktails (we loved the mint/cucumber moment and a spritz-y option). We ordered a few plates to share and everything hit. The bao were fluffy and satisfying, and the crispy chicken was a standout. Finished with a light, not-too-sweet dessert that was the perfect ending. Would recommend for a casual celebration or a coworker night out.
