I love seoullungtang so I am so excited than Jangan has opened near me in Bellevue! We came on a weekend around noon when they first opened and it was pretty busy. We waited about 15-20 minutes for a table for 2. The food came out pretty quickly after we ordered and the soup was piping hot. There is salt and green onions at the table to add to your taste. There is also some spicy paste that you can add as well. Their soup is very rich and flavorful, better than other seoullungtang offerings in the area. They give a pretty decent amount of meat too. Definitely will be coming back pretty often to get my fix!

Brisket Sullungtang comes with kimchi, kkakdugi, purple rice.

TL;DR: This is the Bellevue branch of the original shop in Lynnwood, and it's just as good. Much better seolleongtang/sullungtang than Daeho (the nearby Korean restaurant). The ox bone broth is clean and full of flavor, and the brisket portions are generous and not too fatty. A quick reminder of how or eat seolleongtang. Add salt and green onions to season the soup to your liking. These are located in jars on the table. Tea is the standard beverage, but you should ask for ice water to help cool down after drinking the hot soup. White noodle is the standard noodle in the soup, but you can get chewy noodle as well. 1/ LOCATION. This is the second location for JangAn Sullungtang. Their original location is Lynnwood, but the Bellevue location doesn't sacrifice the quality, value, and authenticity that makes this restaurant one of the best Korean soup restaurants in the greater Seattle area. Parking is plentiful in the Eastgate Plaza mall. It's across the street from Daeho, next door to Safeway, and down the way from Kuro Sushi (also top tier) and CVS. 2/ FOOD. I love seolleongtang, which is a traditional Korean ox bone soup typically served with beef brisket, white noodle, and green onion. It can be bad if it's too oily, or the flavor is diluted, or the beef is fatty or not enough is provided. None of that here. JangAn hits the mark with what might be the best seolleongtang in the greater Seattle area (Yi's in Federal Way might be the only competition). We got the standard beef brisket seolleongtang. You also get rice, kimchi, and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) on the side. You can tell a good Korean restaurant by these sides... and these are also very good here. Not too sweet, and not too salty. They also have other food such as their famous Korean steamed dumplings. We didn't try it but I heard they're good. 3/ SERVICE. It's pretty standard for a Korean restaurant. Don't expect top tier service. That said, everyone was nice, water was refilled, etc. The dining area was large and tons of natural light from the large windows. 4/ VALUE. It's good value. Under $20 for a large bowl of seolleongtang with sides is more than enough for a good meal.

Great place to get Korean soup! The food was fresh and clean, very tasty, great portion sizes, overall I highly recommend and I would come back

WOWWW. The broth was . Beefy yet clean and creamy. It was so simple yet sophisticated? The brisket and tendon were tender. Kkahdugi was bomb! Kimchi was a bit disappointing.. It had very little flavor. The dumplings were nostalgic.. like my grandmas homemade dumplings. Great portions for the price! We will be regulars here.. for sure! Hoping they add spicy beef soup to their menu in the future! And the interior is beautiful!

These folks probably need another great review like Elon Musk needs an increase in his allowance,…read morebut fairness demands that I not keep silent regarding my enjoyment of this restaurant: THE ROSES: Ample dedicated parking. The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

I wanted to give this place a second chance because I know a lot of people really enjoy it, but…read moreunfortunately my experiences were underwhelming. As i always say go try it for yourself. The first time I visited, the quality of the meat cuts didn't impress me, and the soups lacked depth of flavor. I'm not talking about needing more salt--the broth itself just tasted flat. When you're paying close to $30 for a bowl of soup, I think it's reasonable to expect a higher level of quality and care to ingredients. The second visit was a mixed experience. To be fair, I was in the wrong. There is a clearly posted policy stating that your entire party must be present before being seated. My group was about seven minutes away, and since I had already checked in on Yelp and there were only two parties ahead of me with no one physically waiting, I asked if I could be seated and order while I waited. I had already been standing inside for about 10 minutes. I was told that although tables were available, seating me ahead of the other parties on the waitlist would be unfair. I understood the reasoning, but she had also asked prior for my order. Her explanation left me confused so i sheepishly said I understood the policy. She already seemed upset by the time i had gotten there. Sometimes we have off days i get that. This place is clearly hit or miss, I've got friends who absolutely swear by it. For me, though, it wasn't anything special and didn't justify the price. If you're looking for Korean food in the area, I've had better experiences with higher-quality dishes elsewhere, especially in Lynnwood.

Xi'an Noodles seemed like a promising place for biang biang noodles in Bellevue. We went in for a…read moreweekend lunch, only to be terribly disappointed. This restaurant is mostly self service; there are two kiosks right in front for ordering and a table full of prefilled drink cups. I think the only upside to this restaurant is the free cups of mango tea, which are slightly sweetened and fruity. I wouldn't say they are very mango forward though. Hot Oil Biang Noodles ($13.99) - The biang biang noodles here aren't very good. They seem to be stretched somewhat, but then I feel like they take shortcuts. Instead of being almost completely stretched via bouncing the noodles on the table, they only stretch it probably half as much as normal, then they cut the dough lengthwise several times - this is why I can see multiple clear corner pieces in the noodle instead of it being relatively straight. They also don't care to make it consistent in thickness. This causes major issues because the thinner parts are soft and mushy while the thicker corners are doughy and slightly undercooked. I don't know how, but the noodles also clump together, so in some bites, I'm eating three strands of mushy noodles right on top of each other. The sauce here isn't much better. It's supposed to be aromatic, blistering hot oil mixed with chili/vinegar and aromatics poured directly on the noodles. The problems here are multifold. Firstly, they don't drain the noodles properly, resulting in an excessive amount of water diluting the sauce. Secondly, they use far too much vinegar, making the sauce overly acidic. The vinegar is by far the dominant flavor in the dish. While the dish seems like it will be spicy due to the red color oil, it's almost completely diluted out by the vinegar and noodle cooking water. The dish is basically not spicy at all due to these factors. (2/5) Spicy Cumin Lamb Biang Noodle Soup ($14.99) - This dish suffers from the same noodle issues as above, but the soup format improves some aspects slightly, but worsens other aspects. Since the soup is hot and the noodles are soaked in the broth, they soften more readily, so the soft portions are even more mushy than the "dry" noodle. The thicker portions are nice and bouncy though. The soup itself is relatively flavorful, slightly gamey, and tastes like it actually is a lamb bone broth, but it doesn't really have depth of flavor. Again, it's not really spicy at all. The lamb on top seems like thinly sliced hot pot lamb, pan fried until very dry. If not for the fact that the lamb is sliced thin, it would be extremely tough. It does have a nice fragrant cumin flavor though. (2/5) Those were the two worst bowls of noodles I've had in a long time. I wasn't particularly impressed with the noodles at the U District location of Xi'an Noodles either, but they were far better than these two steaming piles of excrement. Bathrooms - Two unisex room shared with Snowy Village. One was locked though

They start you off with a fried fish and a couple of side dishes. I requested only the vegan side dishes. The big ones were bean sprouts and cucumber, and they were delicious. I ordered the dumpling tofu soup. As a vegetarian, it's very difficult to get delicious Korean food, but this was so good! The dumplings were really soft and the soup had a great flavor. It comes with a bowl of rice. The portions are plentiful, so come hungry! My friend got the Mixed tofu soup which he didn't like as much (wanted more meat). They also got the Bulgogi Bibimbap and order of the bulgogi which they enjoyed. I will definitely be visiting again!

Solid tofu soup, I get it spicy. The meat is usually pretty good too. But I think the short rib is better than bulgogi here. I also didn't see they had chicken cuz it wasn't in their menu but it was on the wall I think. Friends like the bibimbap. Seemed fresh. Their side dishes solid although the serving plate is small. They make up for it with constant checkins for more refills though so that's good. They also give the little fried fish as a side (one though and no free refill) I like it though sometimes I get the one with eggs and I don't like that. But generally fine, could be a bit more fried/hot but again not every place has that.

Ok so here are my thoughts…read more Taste/Presentation of the dishes - 3.5 to 4 stars. My daughter and I ordered Rosé Teokbokki and Signature Kimbap. Both dishes were quite tasty and the presentation was excellent but Kimbap was cold (I guess that is okay but it should really be served just slightly colder than room temp) and the sides that came with Rosé Teokbokki were premade stuff from Young Ocean or another vendor, not housemade. Also the sauce for Rosé had "Korean Corn Soup" in it. I love the Korean Corn Soup but it's a cheap instant stuff you can buy at any Korean Grocery. Service/Venue/Ambiance - 3 stars. Simply put - not memorable but not bad either. Place was clean but very blank. It definitely does not feel like a place that should charge the price they do (more to come on this later). Food came out pretty fast and the server was okay. The space was pretty big and we didn't have to wait to be seated (Sunday 11:30am). Price/Value - Negative 5 stars. 20 dollars for what we got is quite ridiculous. Terrible value! Half the food we ate wasn't even made in house. On top of all this, they charged 80 cents more than the listed prices on the menu!! Wow and why? They ask for tip too. There is nowhere on the menu that says they charge 4% service fees. This is such a scam imo. Restaurants that charge service fees! Please stop. Unless the fees go to pay the wages of the employees, it should be illegal for businesses to do this. Overall, you can definitely live without this place. Food is pretty good but you really deserve better than feeling you got ripped off plus the extra 4% when paying the bill.

To begin, you have the option to do either AYCE or order al la carte. However, the menu that's presented to you only shows the AYCE options. Next, there are honestly too many tiers of AYCE -- five to be exact, and some are only available certain days of the week. From tier to tier, it's unclear what items are included. Additionally, how the vegetable add-on works is not clear. Only after we ordered the vegetable add-on did we realize it's a single platter your table receives that you're able to bring over to the self-serve vegetable station next to the sauce bar. Overall for the price, the food and experience was underwhelming. The AYCE price only includes the price of meats. In order to have vegetables, you need to pay $10 more, there is a per person charge on the sauce bar (REQUIRED -- not optional), and there is a up charge on anything that's not the most basic broth options. The vegetable options are fairly limited as well. Of the items we tried out, my favorite was probably the lamb shoulder -- albeit it was a bit on the oily side. The "tender beef" we ordered had an unnatural pink color to it even after we had cooked it for a long time in the broth. We all ate it with uneasiness, but thankfully none of us felt sick afterwards. I can't say I've ever had beef that was so brightly colored pink before. We ended up ordering two broths for our table. The Chengdu spicy broth -- which costs an additional $10, was absurdly spicy, even though we opted for the lightest spicy option. One of my friends and I generally enjoy eating spicy food, but this one had us sweating. If you're sensitive to oil, you will definitely want to pass on the spicy broth as there is a ton of beef tallow. During our meal, our server stopped by twice to top-off our broth. However, our empty water pitcher was never refilled. In terms of ordering, you're limited to ordering six items at a time, with a ten minute cool down. I'm not sure if this is dependent on group size, but for our table of four, we had a 1.5 hour dining limit. We were only able to place orders three times, so if you're a hungry group, you'll want to manage your time carefully. Overall, I had a decent dining experience, but it was not the most economical. After an 18% tip and tax, our meal came out to be $234., or $58.5 per person. For this price, I probably would opt to eat non-AYCE options at Haidilao or Dolar Shop.
