Their offerings include jjampong (seafood over noodles), mul nyaengmyun (chewy buckwheat noodles in chilled broth), ramen, dukbokki (rice cakes in mild/medium spicy sauce), jiajiang myun (Korean style sautéed pork and onions in black bean sauce) and various fried rice. I had a craving for jiajiang myun and they satisfied it. Not particularly stand out, the noodles were fair, maybe a tad over cooked, the black bean sauce quantity was sufficient, overall flavor was ok, though I wish there was a little more pork. For $12.95+tax it was a filling meal. Seating is shared with the rest of the food court, the most open area being usually on the 3rd floor. While I didn't use them this time, bathrooms are available though can be in mediocre or questionable condition, so wouldn't recommend. read more

I took a walk to KoreaTown, on my first night in NYC, to find something to eat. I passed by Food Gallery 32 food hall, poked my head inside and found Seoul New York at the very back on the ground level. There is something nice about picture menus when you don't really know what you want to eat. The lady at the counter was friendly. They offer 10% off when you pay with cash. I chose the Shrimp Fried Udon. It tasted good and was comforting, however it could use a bit more veggies in it. I also thought it was on the greasy side and a bit "liquidy" for something that is clearly not sauce. This made it a little messy to eat. The food hall has some tables on the ground level, 2nd floor and 3rd floor. Restrooms are on the 2nd floor. Seoul is in the back of the KTown Food Gallery on the right side of the Katsu vendor. Service is friendly and prompt, even on a busy rainy Monday night. I paid cash and received the ten percent discount. I ordered the Korean Ramen Soup you can build your own from a base price of eight bucks. The egg and veggie addons are a buck fifty each, rice cakes are two dollar addons, and proteins are three fifty each. I ordered the egg, bok choy and pork addons and my beeper went off in about ten minutes. Very efficient. I arrived home and thought I only would have half the ramen soup and saw no pork. After having half, I revisited the container with the ramen noodles and bok choy to take a picture, along with the receipt to demonstrate there was no pork and, lo and behold, there appeared a few slices of pork, which appear in the top right of the container in the accompanying photo. It was such an underwhelming amount of pork, that I felt justified in sharing the picture nonetheless. Look carefully or you'll miss the very modest protein portion... The broth is good, slightly salty, and the ramen noodles and bok choy are not overcooked. The boiled egg was not over boiled to death either. So we have the makings for a good bowl of ramen soup, but the paltry amount of protein needs improvement. Paid with cash for the 10% discount, but even then, I was sorely underwhelmed by the portion size for the price (pictures show an uneaten plate of tteokbokki), especially based on pictures in previous reviews from others. The consistency of the sauce was also lacking, somehow both gloppy and watery in the worst ways like cornstarch-water. The daikon tasted very sour but like it was too old and had gone bad. What an awesome find. We happened to just be walking around after the Wind Up Watch Show and came upon this little food court in Koreatown. We stepped o side and couldn't decide what to get. We stopped here with their A rating and were very happy. It's a bustling food court and very busy with people ordering takeout and to stay. We lucked out getting a spot right by Seoul. Our food was excellent and made to order so very hot. I had the chicken pad Thai and was thankful that the egg was placed on top in the middle. I usually order it without but I forgot. I ordered a Bibim Naengmyeon. When I received it, there was no meat on it, when the picture shows that there should be meat on it. I asked about it and mentioned the picture, and the lady reluctantly took the bowl back and added the tiniest piece on it, and when I continued to ask for the portion like the one on the picture, she again only reluctantly took it back and had another tiny piece put on it. There are many Korean BBQ places that offers this dish but I find this place taste better then other ( just the food itself) excluding the service and Banchans the restaurants offer.
