Been here once and it was a good experience. All the staff who worked here were very friendly and nice. The Gogi bowl and the burrito are everyone's favorite and they recommend it as well. We got the bulgogi burrito, gogi bowl, and tacos, and it was all delicious. If you are on a diet, you can opt out on the rice and the gogi bowl will still taste good. I tend to eat things on the spicier side so the spiciness was no problem for me. As for my friends, some struggled more than others. Omg! Wish we had this in San Diego. I found this place through Yelp what sold me was the pictures of the food. The best fusion tacos. Ever! We were very happy with the portions & the service. Kesha(sp?) was super friendly and very funny. We loved the way it's decorated and the choice of music they have playing. My husband and I both got tacos. He got all the meats while I only had chicken. The sauce was super spicy and I love spicy! Keep that in mind if you can't handle spicy. We came here after a concert, because they were one of the few late night options near our hotel and the food was great for a late night eat! My favorite was the Gogi and Waffles, which was a huge pile of sweet potato waffle fries with your choice of meat, kimchi, fried egg, and spicy mayo. This alone was more than enough for two people. I come to Chicago often for work and had wanted to try this place for a long time. Tonight I finally had my chance. I tried 3 different things from Seoul Taco: Steak tacos, spicy pork tacos, and the korean fried rice. The tacos were ok. Pretty too look at but, to be honest... the Kogi tacos from Los Angeles blow Seoul Taco's tacos out of the water. The Korean fried rice was easily the worst Korean fried rice i'd ever eaten. Traditional isn't always the best sometimes and this twist is well received and duly noted.The St. Louis location is the original and I've been beyond happy there is a location in Chicago. My normal go to is the tacos. They aren't big but pack a massive punch. The sauce is amazing and you can definitely tell that the meat is marinated for hours, just beautifully bathing in soy sauce, fresh ginger, cilantro, lime juice and honey. I also love getting the Gogi bowl but substituting for brown rice. Watch out, that thick red paste is ignorantly hot. This location has also brought in a local St. Louis favorite that everyone should try - it is called Gooey Butter Cake. They offer a small piece and the price is steep but it is so very worth it! After being in a turkey coma the past few meals this is a very well welcomed change. The bulgogi was delicious. Cooked to perfection. The kimchi fried rice was not very good, the rice was cold and just seemed like it wasn't cooked right. My husband ordered the bulgogi quesadilla and he seemed very pleased. The staff is great and speedy. There are ample tables and not too many people. There are also about 5 or 6 tables outside for a sidewalk patio. The prices are very reasonable too. For dinner for two we spent less than $20! Oh and.. They are BYOB! There's a liquor store just north on Clark. We got a Riesling from there to off set the spiciness of the food. :) Ask the Seoul staff at the register for a bottle opener. The decor of the place is really great! They colored boom boxes and headphones and set up them against the wall. They have collaged imagery, illustrations and basically some nice DIY art along the walls. They play hip hop music which fits the boom boxes and headphones decor. Lately, I've been into the gogi bowl with bulgogi because I like to get a good amount of greens in my meals. I like the amount of food I get for what I pay, too. I went straight for the taco first which was delicious, flavorful but I was hoping there was some kind of spice to it. Although it was great tasting, it was easily forgettable. Next up, burrito! The ordering is very simple, pick your protein and how you want to eat it. Food comes out fast. Service is pretty standard for this type of restaurant. You don't have to worry about breaking the bank, the problem is that there is nothing all that interesting about there food. While looking for something to eat, Seoul Taco caught my eye bc of how different it was - Korean and Mexican fusion. I ordered the Gogi Bowl with steak and tofu. The steak was marinated amazing and was absolutely to die for; I also really enjoyed the tofu, but if I had to pick between the two, I would definitely choose the steak. Service was fast and before I could settle in my seat after getting a drink, my order was already called and ready. The only issue I had was the white rice in my bowl, it was fairly sticky and clumped together - I'm not sure if that's the way it's supposed to be made but I personally like my rice made a little drier so my meal doesn't taste mushy. I read someone else's review and thought maybe the gogi bowl wouldn't be enough for me because I can throw down when it comes to food. So I ended up getting a steak gogi bowl with brown rice and a spicy pork taco. All for just under $13. I didn't eat until I got back to work and I was impressed with the portions. I probably didn't need more than the bowl. The taco was really good. Very flavorful and I loved the spicy pork. The gogi bowl was a lot bigger and heartier than I imagined, although there was quite a bit of rice and not quite as much meat as I would have liked. That said, everything was really good. Ordered the Bulgogi Steak Burrito. This was the bomb! So much flavor and spices. Every bite had the same proportion throughout the burrito. Crammed with steak and rice. Not so much rice you barley taste the meat and not too much meat (which I don't think is possible) where you start getting the sweats. The only thing I'd ask is to up the lettuce, carrots and onions just a smidge to get that extra crunch. But other then that, this burrito was one of the best.
