Stopped here for a late night pick me up and it sure did hit the spot. Love the fact that you could order from a machine and pay right there which is super convenient. The burrito was soooo flavorful!! It is a bit spicy and I could've always gone spicier but it was perfect. Bad: burrito was also crammed full of kimchi fried rice. Rice itself was really paste-y. Everything including the spicy pork tacos had a similar one-note spiciness without much flavor. The seasoning wasn't the most amazing I've ever had but I must say it was pretty good. The chicken taco was good too though the meat was ever so slightly dry. This could be my bad for getting togo so I don't want to fault them completely on a less than perfect experience. The quesadilla sure was packed with meat! It was good but there was hardly any cheese on it. For my future purchases, I'd skip this and stick with their tacos. I just really didn't like the food. To be fair I only tasted one thing on the menu. I got their version of the crunch-wrap. All the flavors just blended together into one note and it was really greasy tasting. It was supposed to have refried beans and some other things in it but then when you bit into it everything was bright orange. I couldn't see any of the different ingredients. Atmosphere of the place is pretty cool. East coast hip hop music matches the overall restaurant vibe. Food was decent. Had the burrito, kim chi, munch wrap, and side taco. If I had to do it again, I would get more contrasting food since it all kind of had the same flavor. Older guy at the front wasn't very forthcoming after we used the kiosk to make our purchase. We had to ask for our drinks, was handed a cup, and a Jarritos. Bottles aren't twist offs, so it would have been helpful if dude would have offered to open it. Had to ask the good runner to open it later. The young girl cooking was very friendly and is the main reason for the 3 start instead of 2, since half of everyone else working was on their phone doing it for the gram. Seoul Taco is ADDICTING. I've been to Seoul Taco more than I'd like to admit. Seoul Taco combines Korean and Mexican cuisines with a modern twist. The restaurant itself is clean and inviting. There are small tables distributed throughout the restaurant, and while it would be nice for the seating to offer larger tables, the room lends itself to a casual lunch/dinner. It wasn't noisy, but I felt like I wasn't making a disturbance talking to my friends while others were eating. The Food: Get the tacos or burritos, skip the sides. I got the bulgogi steak and spicy pork tacos the first few times I was here and definitely recommend them. My favorite is the bulgogi steak. Sweet, savory, and spicy, 3 or 4 tacos are usually sufficient to fill you up. If you're looking for more bang for your buck, I'd go with the burrito (pictured below). The burrito combines kimchi fried rice with cheese and bulgogi steak, which is delicious and filling at the same time. The sides were pretty disappointing. I've tried the OG kimchi, the slaw, and the kimchi fried rice. Out of the three, you get most in the fried rice. The OG kimchi is pretty mediocre. The slaw is refreshing and tasty, but comes in a small portion (like the kimchi). I came here once when there was a long line, and had to wait a long time for my food, along with many of the other customers. The other times, however, I had no problems getting my food quickly. The cashiers are friendly and I've had no other service problems. I imagine myself coming back to Seoul Taco a lot more in the future. Try it out! read more

This is a good place to grab a quick casual meal that's a little different than your average place. We ordered the Gogi bowl (which was kind of dry and bland), The Gogi waffle bowl (which was delicious other than the fries were a little soggy), and the tofu tacos (which were delicious but spicy enough to make your eyes water and your nose run). We also ended up with a side of queso. We weren't sure if it was supposed to come with one of our meals but we made great use of it to add flavor to the Gogi bowl and to tame down the spiciness of the tacos. I was expecting a lot from Seoul Taco but everything but the decor fell short. (The decor, btw, is very cool and very hip!) The establishment comes off as a place to grab a quick bite, but the service will prove otherwise. When you have to wait 20 minutes for something that should be whipped up in seconds (for tacos) and minutes for assembling everything else, then you have an efficiency problem. This would be understandable if the restaurant was packed at peak hours with a line of people, but this was not the case. I had the Beef Gogi Bowl w/ kimchi fried rice. It tasted authentic but didn't move the needle for me in any culinary cultivation. Overall, my experience was pretty lackluster. I really wanted to love this place as I am a sucker for fusion done right, but it feels like Seoul Taco went all out for the hipster hype, with none of the bark to back it up. Please, fix your system. There's no point in having an amazing looking restaurant and good food only to have the dining experience be ruined by your staff and something that can be easily fixed. YUMMY. Stopped by the predecessor to Mercadito Counter, Seoul Taco. What can I say... If you've ever experienced the Kogi Truck in LA, Seoul Taco would be it's lil brotha that decided to open a store front in the Midwest and slang similar fusion Korean Mexican food. Prices? Very reasonable. $2.50 per taco and $8 for a burrito if you need something more substantial. What'd I eat? Tres tacosss. One chicken, one pork, and one beef. Each taco is served on flour tortillas and garnished with some greens, aioli, and fresh limes. Tasty! I think the one thing I enjoyed the most about each of the tacos was that it wasn't very greasy at all. Typically, I find Korean meats tend to be on the oily/greasy side when cut up and served in tacos and burritos. But not here! Ambiance? Definitely casual. Order from the counter & they bring out the food to ya. The interior has been completely overhauled from how it looked before and almost feels like you're sitting in a street art gallery. I could eat their spicy pork tacos everyday. This is where it's at! So stoked it's within walking distance to where i live. Plus, only $2.50 per taco which is very affordable for the Gold Coast neighborhood. There aren't many options on their menu but the things offered are all decent. I would've liked a little more variety, but i also understand they are likely just rolling out phase 1 of the menu, gauge customers' reaction, then revise if needed for phase 2 menu. kimchi side dish was good. Spicy pork burrito was a little soggy. If i get it again, i'd get it w/o the cheese. im still adapting to the concept of mixing asian food with cheese. We came to Chicago for a couple days and this was the first thing we had late at night after landing and checking in. Their tacos and burritos are SO SO GOOD! The bulgogi is marinated and cooked to perfection and so flavorful! We got the a chicken taco and beef bulgogi tacos- all of which have a good amount of meat and well sized and priced. The burritos are also phenomenal as they have the same meat with kimchi fried rice, which is to die for. The burrito has kimchi fried rice in it so that was different as opposed to just a mexican style burrito but with krn meats. If there's any cheaper way to have a tasty meal in River North, I haven't found it. The Tacos make up in spiciness what they lack in size. The tortillas are cooked to order, so everything is hot and fresh. The other entrees are larger, but I thought the taco was just right. Had Seoul Taco for the first time a few days ago. We got the Gogi & Waffle, pork tacos and chicken tacos. Enjoyed all three. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet potato fries (the "waffle" in the Gogi & Waffle) and actually would love to try this either with real waffles, or normal potato waffle fries with some maple syrup. I was impressed that the fried egg still broke and was appropriately runny given the fact that we had the food delivered. My partner and I are from Chicago and were staying in a nearby hotel for the night for fun. We went exploring the area for dinner last night and we were so excited to find the Korean/Mexican fusion at Seoul Taco! We had recently eaten at the cafe inside King Spa and so the Korean flavors and spice dovetailed with our spa-like hotel stay. I had chicken Gogi and Waffles, with kimchi on the side and no queso sauce since I'm lactose intolerant. The bulgogi loaded up on a waffle fry with some kimchi juice on it was exquisite. My partner had the steak Gogi Bowl served on greens and a Beef Taco, and she said that hit the spot too. We shared the Kimchi Fried Rice, also a tasty side. Jarritos paired so well. Note that vaccination proof is required to dine in, which is what we did. Plenty of space between tables and allow for the walk-in traffic to order on kiosks or at the front, and a steady stream of delivery drivers picking up orders too. Great price point too for such a novelty! Their kitchen layout didn't make sense in that their supplies are all the way down the hall and the harried manager wearing many hats last night had to run down the hall to retrieve something. My husband and I have tried a few items on the menu so far and all have met/exceeded expectations. 5/5 Bulgogi Tacos - so good and the portion size is filling for one person / fresh ingredients toppings included 5/5 Bulgogi Burrito - this is a monster burrito with kimchi fried rice in the mix. I had to help my husband finish this one off. I would come back again for this alone. 3/5 - kimchi fried rice, this might be too boring/plain by itself, it needs either a side of meat or kimchi to balance out all the carbs 4/5 Gogi Bowl - good for those who want lighter fare, I found the meat to be a little fatty but overall the flavor of the beef is very good. Update your hours to be accurate. I walked 30 minutes to get here, after checking google and Yelp. I walk in the store and get a "sorry, we're closed" -- more than 3 hours before the "close time". I called with no answer but I've been here before and often they do not answer even when open. Do not trust any of the listed hours. They are often unresponsive to phone calls. The food is tasty but a bit overpriced, inaccurate hours and food usually takes a lot longer than expected to be ready. read more

Delicious and delectable Korean style tacos. My partner and I shared the chicken and spicy pork, which come 3 to an order. The spicy pork lived up to its name, with a heat that builds, but the chicken tacos were also on the spicy side. I love the sauce they top these with, and appreciate the fresh lettuce and good quality corn tortillas. These tacos are messy and really stuffed, and could benefit from an extra tortilla on the outside to help hold it all together, but I really have no complaints. We also ordered the pot stickers and the kimchee slaw. We both thought the pot stickers were excellent, and liked the idea of the slaw, just thought it had a bit too much sugar in it. I found the sweetness a bit much. Still, great quality food that's a stone's throw from where I reside, so I'll be stopping in often. read more

Trying to prevent Covid transmission and yet you have to use a touchscreen that everyone else will be touching and sharing? What's the point? You have the option of white rice, brown rice, kimchi fried rice, the touch screen doesn't allow you to customize your order... I.e. what if someone wants Kimchi Fried rice with Brown rice? It seems this is a way to not only make ordering easier so the employees can work faster, but I find this entire process less efficient since you kind of get the feeling you should address your questions to the touch screen, not the workers. read more
