I came in to buy cologne for my nephews graduation gift but didn't receive any help. The greeting lady was nice and said she would have someone help me but no one came. An associate brushed past me while I was looking at scents to help another customer. I asked two other employees for help and was told by the manager to wait for the original associate to finish with the person she was helping. Before I left empty handed, I told the manager that I'm going to make my purchase elsewhere to which she apologized because the store was so busy. This Sephora is HUGE! It is basically like 3 stores in one with its huge selection of cosmetics, perfume, skincare, and hair products. I really appreciate the large selection of high end brands here that are not always accessible at other locations. If you're looking for a wide selection of brands like Givenchy, Armani, and Pat McGrath, this is the spot. The employees were super friendly and eager to assist. I was so impressed by this very robust Sephora store. The customer service is exceptional. Brittney my Beauty Advisor, was patient & helped me in navigating the purchases I wanted to make. I was like a kid in the candy store when I saw the full Pat McGrath & Fashion Fair displays. I literally stocked up on the things I needed; because once I arrive back home I wouldn't be able to walk in a store & find them :( If I decide to relocate to Chicago this will definitely be my store! Hate to leave a bad review. One of the cashier girl with heavy false lashes has this unpleasant customer service.

One worker specifically seemed very enthusiastic with a customer he was helping so I decided to ask him for help when he was done. I asked him to recommend and help me find a good contour. He pointed to where the contour is and then left me there alone with no help. They were out of the contour as well and he didn't think to even let me know. They were out of most products honestly. The lady at the cash register wasn't too friendly either. It was a pretty mid experience and didn't find the customer service very helpful. read more

Located on the corner of Ohio street and Michigan Ave., it's a convenient central location in the city. We were staying at the Marriott across the street and it was convenient to come get what i need. As I walked in, a young lady approached me to hand me a shopping basket. Several other young ladies offered to help as well. I know what I'm doing and was looking for a new medium coverage foundation in a darker tone than my usual winter color. After playing around, trying different brands/tones, I went with Lancôme 24 hour transfer resistant in 215 Bisque Neutral. There were many options for different skin tones, skin types, ages in various brands. It's a medium size Sephora but they definitely have a great selection. I loved that they didn't bother me while I played around finding what I needed/wanted. But if you don't know how and what to look for, their staff are very willing to help. This was my first time here, there were several associates waiting and available for help. pointed me in the direction of what i was looking for, so i could get in and out. Checkout is towards the back on the left-hand side. They had several associates doing checkout so the line didn't take long. Ultimately next time hopefully i have more time to browse. This is, by far, is one of the best Sephora's I've had the pleasure of visiting. It's located on a corner of the Mag Mile. The store is not expansive in size, but makes up for it in brands. They have every brand imaginable in the beauty and skin care business. The service is excellent without being overbearing. I was graciously greeted at the door and allowed to browse without interference. When I did have a question, it was immediately addressed. I also appreciated all of the staff I encountered took note of my ongoing knowledge and/or education regarding beauty, skin, and fragrance brands. This location has brands at all price points. If you're looking for a more upscale finished look and smell they have it available. If you're more budget conscious, they have that as well. I'm a fan of JoMalone of London fragrances and they offer the complete collection, truly a plus in my book. It was a stop well worth it. They do practice Covid compliance with masks- and hand sanitizer. read more

DO not depend on Same Day Delivery! I ordered and paid for my things to be delivered later that day. Around 1pm, I received an email stating that my ordered had been delivered. Weird, I thought, my Ring never went off. Good reason, it was never delivered. I called customer service and the representative was very nice and suggested that I call the Michigan Avenue store that had fulfilled the order. I did that and the manager couldn't possibly have cared any less about my situation. He confirmed that the order had been picked up but he had no idea who the delivery person had been (apparenty Uber Eats is who they use for same day deliveries) or what I should do about the missing items. He suggested that I call Uber Eats... Long story short, finally got the order cancelled through customer service but I have to wait 7-10 days to get my money back. Going to Ulta next time. read more

I'm voting this as the "Most Massive Mecca" for any beauty looking for all the newest skin care and make up trends! Overwhelming - YES but in a good way and the majority of the staff are MUA's or licensed Cosmetologists so they can help you find what you are seeking amongst a sea of endless options well displayed by brand somewhat alphabetically. Word of Caution: walking in to 'browse' almost guarantees you won't be walking out empty handed and a $$$ lighter too. Bonus: this location offers classes on Makeup application and can do mini sessions with purchase of any product. My favorite though is the new mini facials and hydrating facials by appointment at the beauty bar in the back corner. They really get into the pores... Minimum of $75 required for those but it's money well spent IMO:) Yelp tip: Don't be shy about asking for samples before you buy though. Better to love it or leave it!! Also, Register to the Beauty Insider! Its Sephora's program for earning points on purchases and being notified of upcoming sales promotions. They just had a 15% & 20% off weekend whooop whooop!! Tis the Season too because all the snazzy Holiday gift sets are out and only come out once a year so if you want to stock up on your favorites or fill a stocking for the Beauty Queen in your life, its on!! I LOVE this Sephora! They've got an excellent selection of products and lots of chairs if you want a makeover (either 15 min, 45, or 90 min). For the 45 min or 90 min makeover, you need to sign up online for an appointment. You simply check in with any Sephora rep and they'll set you up with your consultant. My consultant was fantastic and asked what I wanted, what event it was for, and what I wanted to learn. I absolutely loved the end product and even learned a few skills along the way. Makeovers are a great way to test their products to see if they last over the course of a day and I can better test how they feel on my skin before committing to buying the product. The best thing about this experience is they will send you an email of all the products that were used for your makeover! No more stress with needing to remember every product we used and what color it was! I ultimately ended up buying a majority of the products from my makeover since I had such a great experience! I also shopped around this store for perfumes for some family members and discovered that they have a initial engraving machine - I believe the only one in the Midwest. For select perfume bottles that you buy that have a flat surface (so no round bottles of perfumes), they can engrave initials onto the perfume bottle to personalize it FREE OF CHARGE! The engraving comes in gold or silver to match whatever perfume you get. Such a great perk for presents and another reason this will be my go to store always for purchasing Sephora products in person. read more

Front door guest was super sweet and went downhill from there. I'm a makeup artist and needed to re-up on a few foundation shades. I was returning a shade that I had accidentally bought two of. So I get to check-out and the cashier then tells me that the foundation wasn't pulling up in the system. So I check my account and see that the store I originally purchased the foundations from (North Ave) accidentally gave me the same shade I returned the first time. I then realize the original shade (Nars Stromboli) I had returned in exchange for a different shade (Tahoe) North Ave was accidentally given right back to me. As I clearly have (Nars Tahoe) in my hand to purchase since I just thought I bought the wrong shade twice lol, the cashier tells me I cannot exchange. So why would I buy 2 (Nars Tahoe), I explain to her that the original store must have given me my original return right back instead of the Tahoe I had wanted. She still tells me I cannot exchange. Please keep in mind, I had done the other transaction on (8/17/20) and went in today! I also spend so much money there and they could see that. I ask to speak with the manager, and she tells me to go to the original store and ask them to look at the cameras to see if they gave me he wrong shade back. I told her wouldn't it all look the same on camera! With the same boxes, etc. I was kind and respectful and so were they but they basically said there was "nothing" they could do. The manager said they had "special" cameras lmao. I then call North Ave and tell them my wild story and they easily said to come in, ask for the manager and that the exchange would happen. Easy. No issues. No bs about a special camera that can read tiny print on packaging that says shade names. The manager just didn't want to do it. Plain and simple. Manager on duty was Latina and cashier as well. Didn't get their names. I'm assuming they deal with crazy people because of the way they treated me. I had stopped at Sephora to pick up Hum Vitamins only to find out that they no longer carry them in store. No worries, they have face masks, hand masks, feet masks, lip masks and under eye masks. Being the mask hoarder that I am, I had a BLAST!!!! This Sephora is a very nice store in that they carry lots of products. Not only that, they don't bug you if you just want to peruse the store. I really dislike this store... customer service sucks! I work in the area and because this store is within walking distance I stop in every 3 months to purchase my make-up. Well, it never fails that the employees ignore me and avoid giving me asststance. I have to wait 20- 30 minutes to finally flag someone down and get some help. This last time I went in, and ofcoarse I'm being ghosted and when I help my self to locate the make-up in the drawer an employee rushes to me and it almost seemed like she was afraid I was trying to steal merchandise which is far from what I was doing. If they would do their dam job and treat everyone equally and provide customer service to everyone that walks in those doors then I wouldn't have to help myself and try and look for my own merch to purchase. Lol the day I found out I was VIB Rouge (the highest tier of the program) was a wake up call. That means you spent $1000 here in a calendar year. Lol...is so easy to do. I like to jump around and try all different products at different price points and Sephora is a great place to do some exploring. Skin care, make up, perfume, etc...whatever you need for self care, they've got it there for you to check out. I visited mid-week and it was pleasantly un-crowded. I'm sure weekends are harsh with crowds. As with most major retail chains, you have great employees and you have mediocre employees. What I hate, HATE the most, is that an employee will deem you not important enough (aka poor) and not help you, not even say hello. That is until they see you have some upscale products in your basket and all of a sudden, they pipe up and are OH SO FRIENDLY. And this Sephora was no exception. There were however, 2 associates that were super helpful and friendly and didn't mind answering my questions at all. One was very knowledgeable about skin care and the other helped me out with lipsticks. They made the visit worthwhile. read more

This is my FAVORITE Sephora ever, and I live right above a different one. Bobby is AMAZING at finding the right products for my skin type and teaching me how to do makeup well for my own specific face. Unlike those YouTube "gurus," she knows what she's doing and can customize a look for any face. I love that there are classes that happen every day at this location, and like with many locations you can get your makeup done for free any time you buy $50 worth of products (which, let's be real, is every time I come here.) Also, I love that they give out samples of so many products; it's so wonderful to be able to try a foundation or moisturizer a couple times before buying the product. And they are generous with the amount they give you in a sample--several uses worth! I find myself coming back to this Sephora location often and am grateful for the knowledgeable staff here. read more

Had an awesome experience here as a Beauty Insider newbie. I signed up for one of the online classes, 'Your Dream Skincare', and had an awesome 1 on 1 experience with a Sephora beauty consultant. These classes are amazing and I can't believe they're free! I have no idea about top brands for skincare and my girl hooked me up with a cleanser-exfoliator-mask combination that made my skin look and feel great! The workers here were nonpretentious and helpful and gave me samples of some of the things I wanted to try out. They also answered any questions I had. I LOVE THIS SEPHORA! Paola a fantastic employee, came to my rescue as I was under crunch time. I originally bought the Laura Mercier foundation and I didn't like it because it oxidized my skin. I had a concert to go to on Sunday night and I needed a foundation that wouldn't oxidize my skin; nevertheless, that would look great on me and she found just the one (ESTEE LAUDER)! Upon checking out she noticed I had points, but I was never able to redeem them online because they were always sold out and Paola went out of her way to go around the store and show me the best products for me to take home as samples! I'm in love with the the Prada perfume and the Milk Hydro Primer. She made my night unbelievable because of the choice of makeup she suggested. I really don't consider this store a flagship. I came in here to pick up some makeup wipes because this location was convenient. Usually at the entrance to Sephora there is a helpful sales associate and a stack of shopping baskets, neither of which was in evidence here. Eventually a woman at the front of the store directed me to the back of this (long and narrow) space. It was confusing to find what I needed because there was a paltry endcap display of the wipes at one end of an aisle as well as a slightly larger area on the back wall. It seemed like the products were distributed around the store, instead of being stocked in their designated area. In fact, I ended up asking another customer, who I noticed holding a package of makeup wipes, for direction. That is a sign that Sephora at this location needs to step it up. Maybe it's the Michigan Ave storefront here and more tourist traffic, but I feel like I get less help at this location. Also--my main reason for three stars--it's ungodly hot in here all the time in winter. Hey, I'm hypothyroid so I am supposed to be COLD all the time, and I cannot go into this location without getting a sweaty upper lip and stripping down to my bottom layer. Sweaty face = not good for makeup trials. Get a handle on your heating system, 605. Never had this problem in Northbridge. State Street is unfortunately the same. I just don't want to stay in here very long. With all the lights on in here, you'd think they'd know to crank the heat down a bit. read more
