Disappointed! I walked into Sephora on Tuesday the 27th, there were 3 people in the store and at least 7 staff members. I asked one of the associates for help with finding a foundation. As she was NOT busy, I figured she would help me out. The response I received was, "this is not my department, let me see if someone else can help you." Excellent! I thought. Joke was on me. Apparently no one wanted to work because she came back and told me that everyone was busy and that she would put me on a WAITING LIST!!!! With 7 staff members around,I was not only shocked but really appalled at the customer service. In the meantime, I look around, and there are 2 associates talking amongst themselves. I am a rouge member and I am no longer interested in staying with Sephora nor am I interested in the products they sell. FYI SEPHORA; CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING. Done with this store. Done with this company. This is not the first time I experience this type of customer service from Sephora but it will be the last. Inevitably, I walked into Macy's next to them and the associates there were super busy as well yet, someone took the time out to help me. NO WAITING LIST. I got my foundation, free gift and above all.... excellent customer service. Sephora's associates should train with them. Don't you know? Your customers are everything. It's back to online shopping and if I don't like what I buy, I will simply return it and Sephora can eat the cost. This is the result of their actions. Regretfully, I have already purchased 3 products from Sephora and because of the lack of guidance from the Sephora staff, all of these products are not what I need and are being returned, as I write this. Smallest Sephora I've ever seen....products are all unorganized or missing from their appropriate places and the staff is just kinda there...not very helpful. More varieties, more brands to choose from and Sephora brand is less expensive than MAC. And you get free gifts with your purchase if it's over certain amount of dollars or items. Brand name free gifts. But kids, don't forget to always wash your face before you go to bed. :-) read more

Small location, though pretty much similar to any other Mall Sephora location. Probably don't have the largest selection, but that's alright. For the time being, I've found more than enough goodies to keep me happy & satisfied. The customer service here is also really good. Sephora is my Tiffany's. Nothing bad can happen while I am there. I adore this store, they always have what I need and last time I went with my girlfriend (we battle over our ridiculous rewards points count and it has become a rather fun competition between us) Jonathan was so kind and knowledgeable and ended up selling us a lot more stuff than we walked in for...and we were obsessed with all of it! I walked in maybe 5 mins ago & I asked a employee if she was busy. If she was I would have looked for someone else & she said yes, she was doing someone's make up & I was like okay never mind thank you . She walked away & I was looking around for someone eles to help but they all walked away from me & that lady I asked if she was busy was walking around the store doing nothing & she kept on bumping into me & acting like she was busy. Never EVER asked if I need help when I walk in. Haven't gotten very great help when I ask for foundation recs. This store is often busy, but I would think they would dedicate more time to helping a customer find a foundation since it's going to be a layer of paint that we're putting on our faces. The only time I got semi-good service was when I was glammed up for a date night (makeup on point, tbh). Out of stock of what I'm looking for like 90% of the time. Once went in to buy a Kat Von D lipstick as a gift for someone and the employee who brought it out for me followed me around the store to say that if I wasn't going to buy it I needed to give it back because it was the last one they had. Cool--way to make me feel watched. I bought it out of spite and then exchanged it for a different color at another location. Always left wondering what it's going to take for me to get good service. Will I have to come as soon as they open so I'm the only customer in there? Will I have to dress like I'm worth 5 milli? Who knows. read more

Ghetto Sephora! That was the first thing I thought when I walked-in. The smallest Sephora I've ever been to. Everything was a mess (granted, it was 7pm on a Saturday) and the place looked dirty. The line was long and there were only two cashiers: one who knew what he was doing and another who had no idea what was going on. The latter held a customer forever and being the first in line after 10-15 minutes passed, I heard the cashier saying "at this point we can't cancel (the transaction) so you'll have to buy it and then we'll refund you" WTF?! The efficient cashier walked away from the front, leaving the ship to drawn in the hands of the inexperient (or perhaps dumb) cashier. A salesperson with some kind of bar code reader dangling from her neck told me she could do my check out. I stepped out of line and what I thought would be quickly done in a minute took about seven. This Sephora opened about a week before my experience and in my opinion 90% of the people working there either had never worked for Sephora or were the bad lipsticks in the makeup basket. Not sure if I'll go back. read more

This location has to be the worst. I'll just take the extra trip to the Manhattan Beach location. I've been a long time shopper at Sephora and my experience at this location was the worst. I had one associate follow me around the store the second I walked in. Didn't greet me, just followed, and found out she was one of the managers! I spend a good amount of money at Sephora and even a rouge card holder. I am a makeup artist that supports and buys Sephora products. I usually go to Manhattan Beach which is such a wonderful store. I wanted to check out the new Sephora at Culver City. I had the worst experience of my life. I was not greeted by the first person I saw. When I asked for her help, it didn't seem like she wanted to help me and did not guide me in the direction to where the product I wanted was. She gladly helped the friend that I was with. She sat my friend down and did a full face makeup on her which I know is a $50 purchase but she did not tell her or ask her for it at the end. When I continued to ask her about other products, she ignored me. She didn't know I was a makeup artist and when she was putting three types of eyeliner on her (gel, pencil and liquid) I told her it would smear and it did. I can tell that she was really angry at me but I continued to be nice to her. I was watching the way she was putting on my friend's makeup and she knew that I was behind her. She stepped back to purposely step on my toe. I was wearing sandals at the time so it really hurt. I said loudly "Ouch!" She ignored me and did not apologize at all. I was tired of her ignoring me and treating me so poorly so I asked her if I could use one of her brushes to try on makeup and she continued to ignore me. At this point, I was very upset and almost cried. I treated her so nicely, complimented her work and I didn't know why she was treating me so poorly. A different staff member was nice enough to apologize to me after I told him what happened and helped me. Her name is Sarah. I called to try to get her last name but they would not give it to me. Her description is Flipino, short, chubby with blonde hair. I never want to go to Culver City ever again and I will be telling all the makeup artists I know including my clients about this story. I absolutely love the staff at this Sephora. I was on the phone talking to a friend of mine, instead of ignoring me they approached me and asked me if I was on, did I need any help. I forgot to grab her name, but she was super friendly, took the time to answer my questions about a skin care line. She even told me that my acne will get a bit worse because all that stuff can only come up to the surface. She found the perfect skin care line for me. Even at the register, I was still on the phone and the cashier was still smiling, and talking to me by asking me if I found everything ok, how was my experience. This place is full of nice people. I wish I remember the man who did my make up he was referred to as the "bling king" by the manger if I'm not wrong. But unfortunately I had the WORST customer service from the RUDEST person ever his name was Ricardo according to his name tag. He made it seem like I stole a product I was trying to return because I didn't have the receipt . That was beyond rude and disrespectful. And my best friend witness the whole thing from the side and she wasn't even close by and she could hear him being nasty and rude with a attitude so I know the other customers could definitely hear. You need to work on your associates, multiple bad experiences here. I have been to Del Amo, Santa Monica, and The Grove's Sephora and those are great examples of how Sephora should be ran. Kendra and her friend(didn't see the other ones name tag) , need to learn respect and how to act in a work environment. They were store associates shouting at each other, and acting out in ways that weren't appropriate for a working environment. Absolutely ignorant. And the manager on duty should be setting an example for her associates, but she looked like she wanted to be there even less. It's not fun to shop in a hostile environment. read more
