I was in today trying to get a color match and the right primer to go with it. I was helped by an employee named Yulia and she was very nice and did great job matching me. I was approached by another employee who by the way was so sweet and amazing at helping me with finding a concealer, clear gel, and answered every question I had. Her name is Amber she is so kind and so pretty! I loved that she is wanting to do makeup in film for her career i know she is going to kill it! I would honestly suggest not going to Sephora a few days before Christmas because this store will be jammed packed and the lines will be super duper long. Most of the items that I wanted to purchase weren't even at the store anymore. They were just sold out. I think this store is a pretty good size and hopefully after Christmas it will look a lot cleaner. At the time when I was there it was around 8:00 PM and this place looked like a tornado came in and just seemed really unorganized. I love Sephora and the things they do offer. It it a one stop shop for beauty items and also nifty things that you might not even think about to buy. They got me sold for sure. But try not to come here during the Christmas holidays. Great selection of makeup and skincare, BUT 1) customer service is ridiculous. I had to ask for help so many times that I eventually gave up 2) I don't know if they have to sell the Sunday Riley products but I've been here twice in the last month and if I ask about a product I'm interested in they completely ignore me and try to sell me the one by Sunday Riley 3) they give you a good sample size but again to get the attention of one of the employees it's harder than to run a marathon 4) I never ever return products but I bought a oil cleanser that broke me out so bad and I literally used it twice so I wanted to return it. Scott was amazing! He helped me with my long list of makeup since I was getting a one on one with my makeup artist! He even PERFECTLY MATCHED ME TO FENTI AND NARS! Which were on my list. Can't say I'm a fan of this place anymore. I noticed that since they moved, the customer service has really lacked. I remember shopping when they were in the Galleria, and I was always greeted with a smile and girls were more than happy to help you find something. I booked a full-face make up session (60-min) for a birthday celebration and I was disappointed about wasting my time and $$$ ($90!). The consultant that was assigned to me added fake eyelashes without informing me of the additional cost, and applied them with out trimming them first. They were atrocious. She also insisted on applying my foundation and blush first, and leave the shimmering make up for the end which resulted in additional time spent removing the eyeshadow and eyeliner mistakes from all over my face. I stopped in on Friday and had a really good experience. The makeup artist who helped me find the right Armani foundation was helpful and nice to chat with. I wanted a mascara that they didn't have in store and the sales associates at the counter helped me order it. I had a gift card and two store credits -- one of the store credits was a bit strange and the woman helping me had to enter it manually. Warning: This place can get super packed on the weekends. The staff is super helpful, and I got some amazing make up tips and products based on a session there. They are also very good about providing samples of products plus lots of critical information about using those products. Made an appointment to have a makeover done for a party I was going to. The appointment started late and lasted longer than the anticipated 45 minutes which made me late for my event. I can deal with all that however, the following day I woke up with a painful eye infection. I have never felt anything like this. I hoped it was nothing and would go away the following day but I woke up today with more pain and redness. I had to miss work to go to urgent care and get antibiotic drops. I was a little hesitant about how she quickly wiped stuff down after her previous client and proceed to start on me. I love makeup. I know makeup. I know that coming into Sephora, you're not gonna get catered to because it's CRAZY BUSY, so I am not giving the low rating because of how busy it is. I am an in and out kind of gal: I know what I want to buy and I buy it. End of story. Some days, when I'm having a rough day, I like to come into Sephora and just walk around and swatch testers because it makes me feel better. I don't need anyones help. The issue i do have with this Sephora is the attitude when you ask for ANY sample. Most of the time, I like to get a sample before I make a big purchase, and the thing I love most about Sephora over Ulta is that Sephora specifically has little plastic containers specifically for free samples. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've come into this Sephora, whether I've experienced it or seen it happen to another girl: the employees here just look like they absolutely CANNOT be bothered to DO THEIR JOB and give a sample when asked. I get it: YOU'RE BUSY. We're all busy. But the attitude has got to go. I've worked in Customer Service before, and I spend a lot of money at Sephora. To make this experience worse the manager, Tyler was rude and condescending when he realized he was the reason the person who set up my facial appointment was not available to help me. Worst Sephora experience ever... It was a busy day and a spur of the moment visit so my friend and I were a bit casual in dress so maybe it was that we looked broke or the fact we are older (30+) that caused the employees to ignore us. Who knows but we came in ready to lay down cash. During the struggle to get some help, the clerks didn't know which brands were vegan or cruelty free and the other clerks just ignored us Basically I had to google things to find what we needed. Once we found a brand hoped for guidance on mascara and foundation. No one seemed down to help. Once we found a gal to assist she then was maybe 1/4 with us as she was all about talking music to the coworkers and, mid make up application, taking dance breaks. No joke. The store is just so-so for the product selection. They do not have as much sizes/variety as other Sephora locations I've been to. Also, a lot of the items I was looking for were out of stock for weeks. Some employees are attentive while others are straight up unfriendly. With Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and a bunch of other stores scattered across the area, I would have never assumed that Sephora's fragrance section would stand out to me, but from now on, I will definitely stop by here for my fragrance purchases. Please do yourself a huge favor and ask for Linda G. She was the associate who helped me. She is amazing!!! And she KNOWS her stuff! I tend to only stick with 3 to 4 perfumes, but I was tired of the same scents, and I usually ask associates what they recommend, but they always show me something that is either too masculine or headache-inducing florals. So when I told Linda what I was looking for, she not only directed me to 1, but 3 new amazing fragrances that were exactly what I was looking for! I told her my favorite notes and she was extremely knowledgeable about seasonal scents as well! For once, I wasn't pressured to buy something, I was inspired, and I loved her professionalism, expertise, and personable approach to helping me find my new favorite perfume. You guys, this is (quite frankly) an elitist store in an elitist shopping center in an elitist city. I really don't know what you all expected. Some helpful tips: - Go with someone who really knows how to apply makeup. I usually only go there with a girl friend of mine (who ironically used to also be a Sephora employee in Pasadena). This way you can avoid all the attitude of "why are you at a make up store if you don't know anything about make up" that seems to vibe off of the employees. - Get ready to save money on their products because they are SUPER expensive. Kat Von D is probably the best product I've invested in so far. - Have some earphones handy to drown out the loud pop music. This rating is specifically for the superb customer service my mom and I received from Jennifer -- we had such a great experience today that I had to log on to review because she truly went above and beyond to help us with all of our questions (and we had A LOT of them, haha) she was knowledgeable about products, helped point us in the right direction on what would be best for our skincare needs and even went so far as to make me a sample of two different masks so I could decide which I liked best for my skin. I've been shopping at Sephora for years and feel like I know a decent amount about skincare and all the lines but I left today with so much more information and with some great products to add to my regime, and so did my mom! Jennifer was so friendly, helpful, patient, and really knows what she's talking about - explaining ingredients, what makes it work, why a product is worth it vs another etc. It's those kind of employees that make a customer want to come back and specifically ask for their help again. I've had experiences in the past at Sephora when reps from a specific brand are there trying to shill their products only (sunday Riley, etc) and that always gets so frustrating - so to have someone who worked for Sephora who knew ALL the lines and helped me put together the products I needed to fit my needs was just amazing. I went in on a Wednesday evening to try on some new foundations. The girl helping me color match the foundations was really nice. ( I had to keep my mask on - which I was totally okay with. We did swatches on my jaw) . I give her 10/10 for her service. Then I headed to the back of the store to smell some fragrances. (Also with my mask on). Honestly I donno what is the problem with this place... I asked for help, lady told me to wait for a bit. So I waited, not a bit, like 10 mins. I was bit annoyed so I grabed one guy(seemed like manager) and told him I was waiting for more than 10 mins. He took me to the chair and let another lady help me. She was really nice and kind. She brought me different type of concealers. I chose a stick type one and pot type one. Also, I asked her for testing my eyebrows, I chose brow pomade medium brown. After my constultation, she brought me everything. On the way to check out, I found my eyebrow is not a deep brown, actullay it wasnt even for eyebrows but it was an eyeliner. I didn't have any other choice to give up because the Medium brown was out of stock. When I got back to the car I realized my concealers were different color too. I had to go back but stick one is sold out too so I just returned it. I am just confused right now, couldn't understand why this chaos happened to me.. One mistake is acceptable, but all three of them is wrong. Did she want to trick me? Or is today a bad day for me? I really like this location , they have a pretty large selection and usually have what I need in stock , the store is large so it's not too crowded usually , the staff is nice and friendly . Natalie is Awesome she gave me a free facial today it was super awesome , she showed me some products and I grabbed a serum she recommended. If I could give no stars I would! Sephora employees profile you and they are not very discrete about it at all. This is racist, classist ans a horrible way to run business! The Glendale crowd is definitely flashy but not all Sephora shoppers need to fit that profile. I'm a rouge member and I live very close to this location so I find myself frequently here. They follow you around and do not even hide that fact that they are radioing about you! One Saturday, I came in with my sister and my friends baby in a stroller. We were babysitting and the baby kept taking off her shoes and throwing them out of the stroller. I kept on picking it up and putting it back on her. Some bald white dude kept on appearing out of nowhere and asking me plenty of times if I needed help with much attitude. He came out of each corner as if he was trying to catch me doing something, perhaps a total of 3 times. If I say I'm ok and I don't need help, stop following me around. When another associate came around I decided to engage in a conversation and let her know what I was looking for. As I was mid conversation with her, the bald dude interrupted us and pulled her to the side, not sure what he told her but she resumed assisting without making it feel weird. At this point the baby was fussy and my sister took her outside while I went in line to PAY for my purchase. I made it clear to the cashier that I "did NOT find everything ok". I complained about the guy who was making loss prevention his priority and made me his target. I understand Sephora is an easy target for shoplifters and associates have to keep an eye out but as a world wide, multi million dollar enterprise- Sephora can do better than that! Extremely crowded but I didn't expect anything less than that for a Saturday afternoon. I couldn't figure out if I wanted a particular eyeshadow, due to the hue and the price so I asked a store associate if I could have a sample. She seemed annoyed with me. I suppose it was because it was crazy busy but she wasn't really in the middle of helping anyone when I saw her. I'm sure it was tiring with all those people in there, but I don't know... And I don't mean to get all shouty capitals on you - but seriously, every time I've walked in here, I've walked out because I just couldn't get someone to help me. Okay, now that I'm done with my confessions, I'll move on with why I love Sephora and more specifically this location at the Americana. First, the girls there are always friendly and helpful. Customer service is of utmost importance to me. If I'm going to spend THAT much money, I expect to be treated well in return. Second, great return policy, generous samples, and a good selection of skincare products. Sephora has a great return policy overall but this one is one of the best. This location is my all time favorite! If you know me in person, you'll know where to fine me if I was not in Korea town, ha. I love makeup. Makeup is magic if you do it right. Don't ask me how much makeup I have because I have a LOT! You name it, I have it, lol. Sephora gives you purchase points where $1 equals to 1 point. And you can redeem your points as soon as you accumulated up to 100 points. Reward gifts are usually designer samples or travel sizes but worth it alter all. When you're reached up to a 1000 points or so, your status member will become exclusive aka VIB. Not sure what does that stand for. You'll get invited to those private events, unlimited access to beauty studio, special gifts and more. Sounds familiar yelpers? :p As one of the VIB members, I like this location because I find staffs are always friendly. You will never have any problem getting their attention when you needed. I always ask for a second opinion on shades and tones. Started to think maybe I'm indecisive? Nah...I think I just don't trust my own eyes. Fragrance selections are amazing as well. It's a truly one stop shop for all beauty products. Too bad they don't carry some certain brands like Becca and Illamasqua. Free parking for the first hour.
