My friend wanted to meet for dinner at the Americana. After dinner, we came in to play with makeup and get few items. Every single person we asked help from was rude and refused to help. We noticed the same behaviour towards other customers. This was HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! It was worse than before. Not sure if this location is closing or not. But with these terrible "make up artist" wannabes, I now understand why internet shopping is more desirable. If I need to go to Sephora again, it will be when I'm in Vegas. Shopping at this Americana location was the worst! I hate giving 1 stars. But as terrible as this experience was, I can not even justify 2 stars. Ok... So it's Sephora. What can I say? Do you need make up?? Do you need facial items? So you need hair stuff? And I mean the good stuff... Not the stuff that your can pick up for a few bucks at the corner convenience store...I mean the good quality stuff. Then this is the place for you. I know at one point there might've been a discussion about rather Ulta or Sephora....I have to say though that I've been to both and I am definitely a Sephora girl....:) The products that they carry vary by store and vary from the app... So if you are a good deal in the app... Don't necessarily think that they will have it at the store. Also, depending on the size and location, items vary as the bigger stores will have more items cuz well... They got more space ya know? So why the amazing 5 star review?? Cuz ladies... Did you know that if you spend $75 that you can get A FREE facial!! That's right ladies! I thought that they were running a promotion for the holidays but nope...I was told that this is A DAILY promotion that they run. And I'm like OMG... I've been missing out. I've been a Sephora customer/beauty insider member for many years now & have been to more Sephora locations than I can count. From all over Los Angeles to the Inland Empire to Vegas etc. I came into the Americana location yesterday because I always have a great experience here and yesterday was definitely the BEST experience I've had at a Sephora hands down! i came during the afternoon & It was fairly busy. Almost every employee here asked if I needed help with anything, they were attentive, they listened to me, they asked relevant questions, were super friendly, kind, and overall an amazing staff! I spoke to around 7-8 employees total and the customer service was amazing with every employee! In the past at other locations, often times staff members don't ask if I need help with anything, or they aren't as friendly, or when I ask a question they don't bother listening & aren't very helpful. (A couple times I've actually been ignored altogether or forgotten about after seeking help... which is a frustrating & awful feeling.) So I appreciated the staff here doing everything possible to make me happy! Which is what should be happening at every visit. Lastly, they offered me numerous samples of various items in relation to my needs which was very sweet & much appreciated! my favorite lip gloss ran out and of course i didn't have the brand or shade, but i showed up to sephora with a picture of how it looked on. Feather helped me look through the entire store, every brand and shade we could possibly try, just to find the perfect one. her excellent customer service, as well as knowledge on brands, really made this trip for me. Went to get a perfume they had only 5-6 perfume sample bottles for mens and when i asked them is this all they have the lady came opened the drawer and took out rest of the samples not a pleasant experience when you have to ask them so they take out the bottles its hilarious instead got the perfume from nordstrom since they had everything on display and you could access and spray as much perfume you wanted read more

Terrible service at the make up counter! I am a rouge member for 4 years which means I am one of the customers who buy at least $1000 worth of products from Sephora each year. Every time I get my make up done here, I am baffled by how grouchy, arrogant and disgruntled the make up artists are. Compared to JC Penny Sephora, these staff at the Americana is really lacking in customer service and needs to be trained specifically in this area! I walked in 1/26/19 at 1:50pm to buy and do my lashes. The girl Gina who helped me was the quintessential bad service I receive here at the make up counter. Rude, disinterested and can't wait to get out. I can't believe they also took out the Rouge perk to have make up done 4x a year. And the way the supervisor came to me to deliver the new was plain arrogant. What happened to service with aa smile? I have actually never seen a smile from them. Their customer service is like 1/10. The feeling you get when you walk in is like they are too good for you. How can you make customers feel that way. In contrast, many of the staff in the skincare department are at least cordial. To conclude, please send the make up team to customer service training. I went to Sephora a couple of days ago and asked a very rude employee with faded Purple hair I believe her name is Maya(I think) I just know her name starts with an M. She was very rude when I asked her where the puff powder were. She saw me standing waiting patiently to ask her a question but chose to ignore me. She was asking customers if anyone was paying with Apple Pay. When she finally answered my question I got in line and told her I am paying with Apple Pay. She told me to hold on and eventually walked away and clocked out. I asked an employee what her name was and was also told she was a very rude person. The customer service she provided was horrible. I wish I can give 0 stars. The manager is the rudest and has the worst attitude. I bought powder foundation two days ago from this location and as soon as I got home, I opened to find the foundation was completely used and old!!! There was literally nothing left in it. It was clear someone had used it and returned it, and the staff had put it back on the shelf for sale without checking!!! When I took it back in today, the manager was so rude and was accusing ME of returning a used item. She was hesitant to process an exchange and was indirectly accusing me of lying. They are all brand new to me and I'm still using them to see how my skin will react but I was extremely satisfied with the service that Liz provided. I waked in yesterday to get loose powder and the girl who was trying to color match me seemed very uninterested. I did my research before going in but again wanted to ask her opinion but she didn't seem like she wanted to help me. So I ended up walking out and not even buying what I needed. I will order everything online instead of dealing with some of their employees. I get it, they are tired and busy but if I'm spending my money there I'm expecting a little help, that's all. There is no store I dread visiting more than Sephora in the Americana. I'm not into makeup but kind of have to put a bit of effort in for work meetings and whatnot, hence the necessity of a store like this where you can try products out before you buy. Every. Single. Time. I need help finding something I attempt to approach an associate and find myself waiting for them to finish up their gossip sesh. I've stood by idly many times with the CLEAR INTENTION of needing help but because I'm a NICE PERSON I wait instead of interrupting. They cannot be bothered. It's happened every visit. It's as if that's how they're trained. When I have interrupted they look at me like I just stole the Bachelor from them during a rose ceremony cocktail party. There is no knowledge of product either. I was looking for a lip stain that I saw online and was told that lip stains just don't exist anymore. NOT TRUE. Also the cashiers are dumb-- they are incapable of inputting my email address correctly so I never receive points from purchases for their rewards program. Like, they can't spell so when I dictate my email address they mess it up and I have to write it down on a piece of paper and then they STILL mess it up. It's happened multiple times. I wish I didn't ever have to step foot in the store but because you can try on everything it's a necessary evil. read more

Worst Sephora location !! Why?? Because of the EMPLOYEES. Hey Sephora at Americana , how about you hire people who are actually happy and appreciative to be working at this awesome store. The last time I was there was a few days ago. I asked the 1st person who greeted me to help me find a moisturizer. The man panicked like I'd asked him to show me where the produce aisle is at a makeup store. Clearly he was lost because he didn't know where to lead me. He asked two other workers and they were "busy" so he "attempted" to help me himself. #FAIL. I spent 30 mins walking around with him while he tried to search the aisles and he failed so I bought a brow pencil I was almost out of and left. I avoid visiting here. I always go to the one in the Arcadia mall because they are happy andddd they give so many samples. 90% of Sephora products I have bought has been due to the Arcadia location giving me a bag of samples , me loving it, me going back and buying more stuff. IT WORKS, take notes Sephora at Americana !!!! You never give samples . I even ask for it at check out and your cashiers pretend to look and say oh yeah we're out of samples. read more

The other day while shopping here I saw some customers try on lipsticks and then put them back on the shelves. The employees did nothing. I notified the employee but she didn't seem to care. To allow used products to sit on a shelf in a global pandemic is unacceptable and dangerous. The whole "we are so strict with covid guidelines" show they put on is BS because they would not even remove the used product from the shelf after I pointed it out to them. I think I should let corporate know. It seems that they are not doing enough to keep their customers safe. Next time you buy something from them, them think twice. Came right before closing. I was looking for two things in particular. Benefit's Hoola bronzer & Becca highlighter in champagne pop. A dynamic duo. The lady who helped me find the bronzer saw me curiously looking around for another item. She helped me find both. I can tell that she was annoyed and ready to corral all potential customers w product into the line and kick out those who were not. I'm okay with that. I'm a get in and get out type of gal. I don't expect to be catered to hand and foot. This is Sephora. You deal with persons who may have sass and charisma. One of the better locations of all the Sephoras I've been to. I actually wanted to exchange an item I had purchased. I quickly ran in and grabbed the item I was looking for and headed for the counter to seal the deal. If I spend too much time in a Sephora I start convincing myself I need more makeup, hair product, nail stuff and skin care- which is entirely not true. I have plenty without being tempted by the tricky allure of this store, boy this place is like a bright light leading a moth to total disaster. Maybe it's because I'm losing the radiance of youth, but at twenty-nine years old, I'm probably more into make-up than I've ever been before. (It could also be that I really love RuPaul's Drag Race and started watching drag queen make-up tutorials before segueing into Asian woman make-up tutorials, which are much more practical.) I've been looking at lipstick swatches on Pinterest and trying to tweeze my own eyebrows like a competent modern woman. I've been making an effort to look presentable at least two or three days a week. I stopped by the Sephora in the Americana in my newfound dedication to beauty. I'd had a few things in my cart on the Sephora website for a while, but decided I'd better talk to an expert before committing blind to a lip liner, something I'd never purchased before. It was a standard Sephora, big and busy and feeling very much like the middle of an American mall. It might have been a bit more crowded than average, but maybe they're all like that. There were tons of customers and staff roaming around, though not so many staff that I didn't need to approach people strategically for help. I ended up getting some guidance on lip liners and chose two different shades from Estee Lauder and Too Faced to go with my two dark lipsticks. I also picked up a Nars bronzer, an Anastasia eyebrow pencil, a Dior mascara, and a Sephora brand foundation brush, all things I've been putting off buying online. Turns out make-up is expensive as fuck. I spent almost $150 and when I got home, I realized they didn't even ring up/give me one of the lip liners. I did get a free Sephora insider birthday gift of two Nars lip pencils, so that was nice. Sad to report that nothing I bought makes me look like a twenty-one-year-old supermodel, but it's all good stuff that I'm enjoying for now. The cashier was giving me so much attitude while doing my return transaction, and it "only" took her 30 + minutes to do the transaction and the other cashier Sabrina came to help her and both of them till very end were with a very bad attitude, never apologized that it took them that long and were so rude at the end! I am shocked! I always go to the store in Pasadena and the customer service is wonderful there! These two cashiers in my opinion should NOT work in customer service, especially in Sephora! This location is always freaking busy. I get that is not a reasonable complaint but SHIT. Can't the manager realize and hire more beauty associates for Friday-Sunday???!!! If not at least have the Mobile cashier walk around and ask if anyone is paying with card!!! I am baffled by how much they can do to lessen the line and speed up the check out process.. Not to mention there is a sassy guy with glasses who works there and feels the need to give off a vibe where he thinks "everyone is stealing" That is not ok and I've seen people leave the store because they felt antagonized by his body language. I get LP is a big part of your job but if you seem more relaxed maybe the real criminals will actually stay so they can get caught. Overall, 1 star for the speed of check out/availability of staff during rush hour and 3 stars for customer service. The girls and other makeup advisors are of great help. I am a long time client of Sephora with makeup services and products for my company and business events. In the last few days I got a full service face make up service at this location Glendale Americana which I paid for at the time of service. When I checked my account today there was an additional $20 charged 15 separate times on my statement for a total of $300 that Sephora debited from my account. What's even more disturbing is the fact that I have been trying to get down to the bottom of this by calling first the 800 number for customer service in which I was told that they could do nothing there and that I need to call the actual store where I got the service and show up in the store to get refunded. I explained the situation very clearly, but it appears this person did not understand what was happening. I called this Americana Glendale store anyway to try to then take it up with them as instructed and both the person who answered the phone and a girl manager by the name of Dani there was very condescending and told me that it sounded like a system error and that I needed to dispute it with my bank. That is 100% unacceptable as why would I need to do that when it is clearly Sephora who charge my card 15 times for a charge that's not even supposed to be there at all therefore should be something they should take the responsibility to reverse. Disputing with my bank, and all of that takes more time and efforts that I should not have to do as this was not my mistake to begin with. She also told me I need to call the 800 number again and figure it out there. I proceeded to do that and asked to speak to a manager only for that manager then to come on the phone and hang up on me in the middle of my explanation of what's going on and I received no call back from that manager even if it the call was disconnected by mistake. I am also extremely disappointed as I will never be using Sephora Services again due to the way I've been treated and on top of that that I cannot entrust my card or bank information to be used in their payment services. My issue is still been unresolved due to no one helping me at Sephora. Be careful when you pay for services whether online or in person as you run the risk of them charging you $300 in fraudulent fees. read more

I left there looking like a circus clown and went straight to Sephora nearly in tears. I was greeted by the sweetest group of women who assured me it could be fixed and found time to squeeze me in so I wouldn't be late for my party.
