Personally ever had a bad experience. Every time I'm looking around, I've always been asked if I need anything. And any time I've needed help, I've always been helped by very kind staff. If they've been busy, they let me know they're busy, send someone and apologize for the wait. I don't personally wear makeup often or much at all really, and the last associate matched me perfect and helped me pick out things for my skin type and look I was going for. I didn't like the service in the skincare department. Clearly no one knew anything about skincare and it definitely showed. They couldn't even sell me on any of the products. Everything they were showing me was always"this is really good" like okayyyyyyy but what's good about it. I recently visited Sephora and had an unfortunate experience with one of the staff members. When I asked for help, the employee, who was wearing makeup, completely ignored me and walked away. This lack of professionalism and courtesy was disappointing, especially when I was looking forward to a positive shopping experience. Employees here are not helpful at all. You ask them a question about a product and it's like you asked them how to build a rocket ship. Nine time out of ten you have to seek them out because they are too busy gossiping amongst each other to pay attention to the customers in the store. Don't even bother asking them about release dates for certain brands because they'll just direct you to "follow us on Instagram for more information!" How about no! Another no-no is asking for samples cause you'll be greeted with eye rolls or tight smiles. If you don't want to deal with people asking you questions about makeup maybe you shouldn't be working at Sephora - there's a thought. Just because you wear 10lbs of makeup on your face to hide the acne scars and fake eyelashes doesn't make you a makeup artist. Avoids this location. this review is for Sephora in glendale! Sephora in general is my go to for make up. I love their services. I'm a minimalist and I only get my eyeliner done. Only in Glendale they want to force you to book a 60 minute session for literally just eyeliner and foundation . It needs them 15 - 20 min to set the eyeliner but they want you to pay for 1 hour to set foundation which usually takes 5 min ( max) Both in BEverly hills and Newport beach after my eyeliner was done, the make up artists gracefully asked if I would like anything done and I asked for foundation and they were so generous and kind about it. Today I called and spoke to Maya who is a manager at Glendale ( you would think managers know something abouy customer service ) I kindly asked why I need to pay for 60 min for a service that's 2 steps , eyeliner and foundation . Let me just say I got the same attitude and rudeness that I always get from this location ! She basically blamed sephora and their systems and said have a good day like she is hanging up on me! Rude to say the least. You either blindly pay us more than you need to or we are just rude to you ! How very appropriate for the service industry Maya. I'm just sad that my favorite make up artist works there ! Sabrina is the best with eyeliners. I've been going to Sephora Glendale for years and they still can't find me on their system every single time. On the advice of a makeup professional, I went to Sephora at The Americana mall today for color matching. I told the woman who greeted me what I wanted, and she sent Carlos over. Carlos was great! Very friendly and helpful. I'm an actor and I wanted makeup that not only matched my skin tone, but that WOULDN'T look like I was wearing makeup. And he nailed it. And though he had the opportunity to upsell me, he didn't. He used two different brushes on my face, and I asked him whether I needed two, also. He said that I could get by with just the one. I came all the way from Koreatown to buy the Kosas concealer because the website said my color was in stock and I needed it for a shoot I had today. But when I got there the self was empty so I asked the nearest employee if what was out is all that they have and she dismissively replied "yup" and walked away. She didn't have a name tag but she did have washed-out poorly dip dyed pink hair in a messy bun, but that's aside the point. This is not a good store shop in because the customer services is really bad! Alvina was on the floor walking by me ask her a question she said she couldn't answer because she was busy. I asked if she can call someone else she looked at me and she yes! Cyrus came to help and was able to answer all my questions. He help making the experience better. Terrible experience with full face make up session with Ellin K. I booked a full face make up session online for a high school formal and was excited for my daughter. The entire experience was disappointing. Cons: - Makeup artist tried to upsell and pore cleaning service (20 minutes additional + additional cost) - Makeup artist tried to pressure teen into false eyelashes without disclosing they were an additional cost - insisted on applying foundation, etc. before eye makeup resulting is sparkles all over the face - terrible in matching brown skin tone foundation/concealer (despite noting we wanted someone comfortable with skin of color) then insistent it was the lighting. One other artist of color was sweet and tried to help and finally Ellin listened to the color my daughter stated from the start. - terrible at customer input (see above) my daughter told the artist her foundation color from the start but the artist ignored her and then did not take the feedback well. - Stated several times when we said the foundation did not match that she did not have time to start over (keep in mind she would have had time for the additional 20-30 minute service she tried to upsell but no time to match foundation correctly. Pros: - I could pay at the station instead of waiting in the very long line to check out. (but they could not validate there so I still had to make my way through very crowded aisles to get validated). Very disappointed and would not suggest Sephora for makeup application. read more

I don't particularly condone subjecting anybody's value to their appearance and thats, obvi, not what it comes down to IRL... but, let's face it, we live in LA and first impressions do leave a lasting one. Professional or fun, you still wanna strike a look when the occasion arises. One of the best things about Sephora is that you can try nearly all of their products to see if you like them. There are plenty of tools/supplies to cleanly try them; none of that dirty drugstore direct application. Everything from makeup, hair products, fragrances makes it a one stop shop to turn 5s into 8s or 8s into 5s, for the clueless lol. Fortunately, there's help if you want it but, if ur just pursuing, they'll also let u do your own thing. This store seems far larger than the one in Pas so the selection is ample and testers seem to be better maintained. Americana is always crowded, despite the giant parking structure but they pretty much have everything there so just make a list of things you need and grab everything in one trip so ya don't have to come back. The shop is central, near the grassy area, next to Nordstrom super easy to find once you get in there. Def join their VIB program, depending on your annual spend level, you'll get varying access to promotions (and their semiannual sale where you can get pretty much anything at 10-20% off!), premium samples and a bday gift! I've tried an assortment of their white labeled brand but I'm just not a huge fan. Regardless, they carry a ton of other great brands to check out. I'm jonesing for a reload now! Be forewarned that it's pretty dangerous here. Can't seem to leave under a few hundred once you start testing out products. read more

Might be the worst sephora I have ever been to. It is so busy and crowded, hard to get through the aisles. Also, not a lot of products in stock, and products are just kind of laying around everywhere. I just came to browse. My boyfriend on the other hand had a specific fragrance he wanted to buy. He felt rushed choosing the products he wanted to purchase, probably for commission reasons. Moreover, he was checked out on one of those portable devices rather that an actual register. The beauty advisor who checked him out said she wasn't going to print a receipt because she did not want to and said the purchase would show up on sephora account. When we left the Americana, my boyfriend wanted to return or exchange the fragrance, so we went to the nearest Sephora at a different location. They were unable to help us because we had no physical receipt and it was not showing on the Sephora account, so we had to drive all the way back to the Americana and figure it out. Also, the purchase is still not on the Sephora account. Very messy and confusing. Please give receipts and print them if we ask for one! If the printer was broken, that would be a different situation, but the beauty advisor was just being lazy. read more

I went in for a full-face makeover last Friday and the woman who attended me (Kaye) was was great! But I reiterated to her a couple times that I was a blogger and needed the list of the products she used before I left. She assured me I would get an email listing all the products the next day. It has been 3 days; no email. I called the store and was told that since I didn't receive an email within 24 hours, I would not be getting one. No apology! I wasted almost $60 on this treatment so I could write an article for my blog readers and YouTube viewers - I was happy with the makeover, and Sephora could have received thousands of referrals through my post. But because I didn't receive the product list email, I can't write a single word or do a video review. Also, i can't buy any of the products that I tried out. (Luckily, I bought my favorite two from that night). And the WORST part is that the woman who answered the phone was very dismissive. No apology, nothing.
