My rating is based off the location alone. The service is non-existent. I walked around for a bit looking at all the goodies and budgeting in my mind for a good hour and was not approached. Not once. Really not what I'm used to at Sephora. I am usually corralled by an informative and well meaning Sephora employee, given a mini makeover, and then left to buy all the products that were just used on me. I'm not complaining, really i'm not. That's my favorite part! Maybe I was preoccupied that day and sent off that vibe of "don't bother me I'm shopping." Who knows... Both the woman in the fragrance department and the cashier were very rude - you could tell they did not want to be there. Wasn't even busy when we went. They did have what I wanted in stock, but I was upset that the cashier would not honor my Groupon voucher and and gave me a hard time about it. Because I am a beauty insider, she told me if i bought something else and exceeded $75 I would get $15 off my current purchase. Totally felt like a scam that she wouldn't take my coupon and tried to upsell me. Definitely will NOT be coming back to this location. read more

Why is this Sephora different than others? It's not four miles deep inside a shopping mall. You don't have to pay to park, or hold your breath rounding tight corners in a parking structure before the 55 minute human body obstacle course you need to dodge to arrive. It's as easy as going to the grocery store. Hey look, there's literally a Ralph's around here. The employees are roaming darlings. Good selection of fragrances - definitely more exotic picks than a suburban Sephora. Lots of hair care products too. The shopping center has a lot of great places and good food, so it's an easy place to play with your besties. By far my favorite Sephora on the Westside. I feel so happy here. read more

I am really happy to have a Sephora 5 minutes from my house! I love the people and the quality of products at Sephora. Conner is such a consummate professional. He is younger however he looks at each person and helps them based on your needs not a blanket over all not one size fits all! There is a sense of service that makes it fun to go in there. Although a pretty expensive addition someone thought I had a face lift! I am like, " Are you kidding me?" No!!! It's a couple new products only I went in 3x this week! A little much for my purse however the results are undeniable. There are many woman there including a Rep from Ren that are amazing! Over all everyone is really kind, thoughtful and go out of the way for you. Just ask for what you need and do your home work online and with samples. You can really learn from them and to see new youth is awesome! My new favorite products are everything my Ren and an amazing Rose Mask. I am being generous with two stars. I would really like to get one based on customer service but I'm giving two because the store is well-stocked. I've been coming to this location since it's opened and this review is overdue. The people who work here are never helpful & have attitude. When I ask for something, that person always seems a bit bothered and has to get somebody else because that person is too busy with who knows what even though it looks like they're not doing anything. (I guess they have certain 'departments' they're assigned to and God forbid they have to do something 'lower' than that. That's the vibe. I'm often pressed for time, I'm not a major make up person so I don't want to take an extra five minutes looking for something, I just want to be shown exactly where it is and be done. When I was in a few weeks ago there was two girls working behind the register and the store was empty, I asked where black eyeliner with a jolt is smudge was and the girl just didn't even look, just pointed and said over there. And then I was in another time since then and needed specific perfume, the store was empty and there was no one who offered to help. I don't even think to ask because I know how they are here, not helpful unless you want make up put on! Sometimes these young girls in this line of work think they are the superstars because they're dealing with make up, I think. They have to remember without the customers they're not gonna have anywhere to flaunt their little feathers. read more

Don't stand by their products. I bought a hair coloring masque here for $28. It was fairly expensive for a masque but my daughter really wanted to try it and I thought it'd last for a month or so. I turns out that she had to use the whole tube in a single use AND it didn't work. It didn't deposit any color on her hair. I went to return it this afternoon (2 days after buying it) and they said that they wouldn't take it back because it wasn't "gently used" but rather it was almost empty. Ummmm....yes...because it didn't work and my daughter had to keep putting more on her hair to try to get some color. Anyway, the manager was rigid regarding the policy and that was disappointing. The fact of the matter is that the product didn't work and their return policy is insulting to their customers...suggesting that I was somehow trying to scam them. I have been a loyal VIB member for a long time but I'll be taking my business elsewhere. To be fair when I called 877-sephora they did give me a $15 store credit as an "apology" for the experience. read more

My favorite Sephora in west LA. Of course it's not as big as the Santa Monica promenade location, but the lack of crowds make up for that. The people who work here are very helpful, if you have a question, there are plenty of staff members willing to help. Everyone is generally really friendly, and going on a weekday afternoon gives you the opportunity to browse around freely. Everything is always neat and stocked, I have never encountered something that wasn't stocked. There's a girl who works in the perfume section (I believe she has blonde hair), she's really awesome and friendly. She's helped me on numerous visits, from helping me pick out a cologne for my partner to giving me personal scent advice. She's great, just had to say that. But all the girls are great, really. I love this location so much. Just please start carrying Bobbi Brown and this'll really be my complete paradise! read more

This Sephora literally rocks!! Every time I go in here (which is a lot) I feel super welcomed and overall comfortable. I find it rare to feel this way in Sephora's because usually the employees are jumping down your throat trying to make a sale... every employee is attentive but not overbearing ! I have had problems there a few years ago while shopping. And the women who worked there didn't look like they were into beauty - they also had bad attitudes. One woman had tattoos on her face and acted like this was her first job since prison. So only would shop online. But have to say they have turned a new leaf. They staff was great they all seemed knowledgeable and to like makeup. It's a complete turn around. I want to give a special thanks to Larisa. I'm hoping it's the correct spelling. She checked on me and assisted and gave me good advise. She's a big part of the 5 stars. As well as a clean safe store and good coworkers. This is the most customer service oriented Sephora I've ever been to... Everyone is so sweet and helpful! They seem like they actually care unlike other Sephoras around LA! Finally Sephora in the Marina! I came here shortly after their opening, all the employees were so nice & friendly. There was a glitch with my online order which meant one of the staff had to call several different numbers & wait on hold to get my return/exchange done. She was so nice & apologetic about it taking slightly longer than usual, even though it was totally unnecessary for her to do so. I'm glad Sephora has such a great return policy so I can get the right colors I need.. and such great customer service while I shop! During lunchtime & afternoon rush hour, parking in this busy shopping center is difficult and the lot gets jammed often. If you're looking to get in & out quickly, make sure to come early in the morning or later in the evening. So glad Sephora has arrived, can't wait to go back! read more

Can literally park right in front and go in and out. So much better than having to deal w the normal shopping malls with their validate, driving around and around a parking structure hoping one pops up at least on the 5th floor, escalators, crowds of aimless people, etc. ..just in-and- out. This convenience is not so good for my wallet, but hey. Store associates are really nice and always AVAILABLE. I can't begin to think of how many times I've had to go through that whole mission only to get there and there is no one to help me grab a stupid 20 dollar beauty blender that they have to get from the back bc no ones had time to restock. I will never go to this Sephora again. I went on Saturday with a girlfriend to buy eyelashes and have them put on. I had called a couple months in advance to make an appointment because it was my Baby Shower, so obviously an important day for me. They told me that their was no need to make an appointment that I should just come a couple hours before the shower and it wouldn't be a problem. When I arrived on Saturday a heavy- set women, who I'm assuming was in charge of the make- up artists, let us know that, "it's not going to happen" and was really rude about it. I am 9 months pregnant, huge and just wanted to look extra pretty for my shower, the least she could do was be sweet about it. The simple act of being cordial and nice, even when you have to say No, goes a long way. She didn't try to be helpful at all. It just left such a bad taste in my mouth and with so many places to go, I will choose to go elsewhere where customer service is a #1 priority. read more

My complaint about this location is that they must be so desperate for sales that they allow customers to bring in off leash dogs. A couple of A-hole customers were letting their dog run around the store and when i told the dog to get down after it jumped on me they got offended and mad a sarcastic comment to me. Crumby service at this location. Bought some black eye makeup, got home to discover what was inside the box was brown. Had to return and change it. When I arrived there was a long line so I asked one of the floor staff if I could just give her the box I was returning and swap it out, but was told I had to stand in line. Meanwhile my husband was double parked because the parking lot was full so when I mentioned this to her she grabbed a passing colleague for help who told us both he was going on his break so I'd need to get in line. Bonnie is the best thing to happen to this store in a long time. She is consistently, time and time again, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable about the products at Sephora. She knows so much about products for different skin types, tones, and textures. She is truly a gem. No matter how many questions you ask, she is always even keel, LISTENING, and making every effort to inform you about the next product. No matter whether you are big spending or penny pinching she invests her time and attention equally. Shes patient and understanding and fair. She goes above and beyond, and more importantly, she's REAL about which products are best and she even foresees issues you may personally have with a certain product. She is the type of employee I wish Sephora could clone and keep at every Sephora. She makes you feel good to be shopping with the company that at other times you may have your concerns about. I went in today to get a custom makeover and Conner was the absolute best! As a VIB ROUGE member I have gotten several in-store makeovers from various locations and this one topped them all by far. I went in for a dark lip birthday look and he made me into a vampire glam vixen without overdoing it. He really paid attention to my laid back makeup style so although the look was more glam then I'm used to it was still understated. I told him what my birthday plans were and all I needed to do was go home and curl my hair and he offered to curl it for me!! Came to the store on Friday evening, looking to buy all new makeup that's natural. I was helped by Heather and I give her 5 stars. She went through every part of makeup I needed to do my entire face. She was kind and patient and had a great attitude. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I left it up to her to find what I was looking for in "clean" makeup and most of the items selected were from Tarte. Apparently, Tarte claims to be natural, clean makeup but, when I got home and looked up each item on a makeup database, they're NOT clean! Sadly, I'm going to have to return my entire purchase. Now I'm back to square one. If they ever carry a truly clean line, I'll be back. I had a nice experience at the store, it just ended up being a waste of time. read more
