This Sephora is located at the Northshore Mall. The customer service is great and all of the sales associates are very friendly. They're always there for you if you have a question about a product or would like to try something on. The store is well organized and I never have any trouble finding the products that I am looking for. If you want to take something home to try out before you commit to buy the product the sales associates are always more than happy to make up a little sample vial for you to take home and try for yourself. There are always lots of different products available from all of your favorite cosmetic and skin care brands as well as fine fragrances and hair products. I especially like to buy their Lancome products and they do have a good selection there. They also have some nice items available from Sephora's own private label. Last time I was in there I bought a couple of lipsticks from their own line of lip colors and I am really enjoying them. I would definitely shop here again on my next trip to the mall. read more

I love this Sephora. Yes, the employees can be a bit overbearing....but from my experience they aren't any more so at this location than at any other Sephora. There's one woman in particular that works here (I wish I knew her name) that always is super helpful whenever I come in. I like the layout of this store because it's not at all cramped like some Sephora's can be, and their displays are always clean and organized. Took off one star because I got asked six times if I was "still doing alright??" in the less than ten minutes I was in the store. Buyer Beware: While the employees in the store will tell you that if you are not satisfied with a product you purchased, you have 30 days to return it for a refund or exchange. This is partially true. The company tracks you and how many times you return something through a very flawed algorithm system. If the system flags your account and accuses you of returning items too many times, the company will ban you from ever returning or exchanging anything for an indefinite period of time. This weekend while shopping at the Northshore Mall we decided to stop in at this store to buy a few different things. The store itself was well stocked and had everything we were looking for. We ended up buying a gift card as well which was an easy process. The main issue that we had here was that the staff were inattentive while we were in the store which made finding items more difficult. Waiting to checkout was also a hassle. Even though there were only two people in front of us, we waited for no lie about 10 minutes to finish our transaction. In the end the store itself was great, but the staff needed to be a bit more proactive in helping out customers as well as being a bit faster when it comes to checking out. That being said, we will shop here again and hopefully our experience is a bit better. read more

Sadly I won't be coming to this location anymore! They use to be one of the best on customer service but last time I went here that wasn't the case. The minute we walked in we felt employees following us, asking us multiple times if we needed help but we were just looking around. You may think ok that's fine they're trying to be helpful, not in this case, they literally kept following me after each fragrance I touched, mind you I've been here more than a few times and usually this doesn't happen. We then went to ask for a sample of a product and the employee rudely said they don't do it anymore. I was there a couple weeks back and not only brought products but was also given samples. I decided to leave and not buy anything this time around. Just for fun I did Google about the whole samples thing, nowhere on their site does it say they don't give out samples anymore. I reviewed the Lynnfield Sephora not too long ago for the poor sales team and I'm disappointed to report I felt the same way tonight at the NorthShore Mall Sephora. Sephora is known for its skilled and knowledgable helpful salespeople, who guide you through makeup and let you try what you like. I had a question tonight and three salesgirls were too busy in their own chatter to stop talking and help me. Finally, one of them helped me through finding the few items that I needed. When I made my way back to the register, it was Lily who brusquely made the transaction. She asked me if I wanted any of the freebies without explaining to me what they were, or how many points they were. I politely asked her to go through them with me, to which she read the labels and didn't have much else to offer, no descriptions, no points explanation etc. until I asked her the questions several times to get a response. She was not pleasant throughout, and seemed annoyed to have to answer my questions. read more

I am one of those girls that doesn't know a ton about make-up and I just use the basics. I have really fair skin and in earlier years struggled with breakouts and my skin is pinkish due to this. I really wanted something to even out the tone of my skin and give me a more defined look, for the everyday, THAT LASTS ALL DAY, unlike my Bare Minerals. I definitely had the CLUELESS look going on with so many items to look at and so many different directions to go. I was greeted by a woman who introduced me to Jazmine who Ultimately gave me a new outlook on make up. She brought me to the station and showed me what she was using and how to use it. She was really personable and sweet. The only drawback was that since I wasn't a real make-up expert, I wasn't really educated on how much money I was going to spend, but it will last me a long time and I will most definitely go back for more. :) read more

Well I guess I will have to agree with most of the other reviewers that SOME of the girls that work at this location are a little bitchy (WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ITS PEABODY). But from what I've experienced a lot of the sales reps are super nice. I've only been to the Burlington store once, I usually go to the Copley mall because I'm in Boston more often, and I would have to say I like the one in Peabody the best. Every time I go in I'm always asked for help and once I say no I am no longer bothered. There's an older women there that's really sweet and always makes casual conversation with me. The cashiers are really nice too. Once girl in particular is awesome because she always remembers me, as i shop there often, and gives me TONS of free samples. Also one time when I was picking my beauty insider sample I picked one i didn't have enough points for on accident but the guy at the counter gave it to me anyway. The best part is I never have to wait in line, if there is a long line someone always comes to the register to help cash people out. I haven't had a bad experience in this store yet and I am totally glad they opened one that's much closer. read more

I am not very fond of this Sephora much any more. It's as if all the employees lose their "customer service" knowledge when they clock in. They seem to only prioritize the girls who look like they are prestige make up wearers or are from the pages of a magazine and could care less about the casual make up wearer like myself. And why does everything have to be so expensive? Yes I know quality matters but come on, $27 for a lipstick or $62 for an eyeshadow palette? Robbery! Came her for a custom makeover. I went in on a whim. I didn't really have a specific look that I wanted to achieve. But my artist Amanda did an amazing job! After she completed my makeup, I felt like a million dollars, like I can pass for a celebrity walking down the red carpet. She was personable. I felt like I was in good hands. All the workers here think they're know it alls and are better than you. ALWAYS have to come back and exchange a product because they've matched me incorrectly. Just as other customers have expressed, I too feel uncomfortable anytime I shop at this location, if it was not convenient then I wouldn't be shopping here at all. Ever time I come in I am followed to every isle I go to and asked every 2 seconds by every worker if I need help with something...they pretend to be doing something in the isle I'm in when they see that I have caught on and then they talk on their walkie talkies. The last time I went in there was a few days ago and the same thing happened with me and my sister this time. We were being followed and harassed while a group of young white girls walked out the door with the alarms going off and nobody cared to even check if they stole something.....it's just sad and pathetic! read more

I like the products sold at Sephora but I do not like the customer service at this location. Every time I enter this place, I get the distinct feeling no one wants to help average looking chicks at this place. I just need some help matching my foundation or lipstick! There always seems to be a ton of staff standing around chatting, observing me struggling at the lipsticks. I am never greeted and no one asks if I need help. Instead, I have to awkwardly walk up to a bunch of Sephora employees acting like it is their lunch break and say something weird like "Can you help me?". Weird, cause I thought that is why they are there. I recently inquired about the existence of a longer lasting lipstick (read: one that lasts longer than an hour) and was curtly informed that they do not exist and I should just get a lip stain. A STAIN?!!? Stupidly, I gave it a try and every time I wear it it just looks like I just chugged a bunch of merlot. I recently had a horrible customer service experience at this location. I have shopped at Sephora for years - for both personal and professional needs. I would never think that at this point in the world a guy walking into a sephora would even cause a raised eyebrow however - can't locate my beauty insider (oh you have one the girl says, why yes I do) no samples offered or VBI gift offered. The store manager actually contacted me to resolve the issue and she was very kind and a genuine person. I was very appreciative of her kindness. However, looking at the past reviews this type of treatment isn't uncommon at this store. Crappy, eye rolling attitude from 17 yo girls who clearly need more make up tips than I? I always have great experiences here - I agree with Heather S. that they must have different staff here now than when they first opened. I am asked if I need any help when I come in, and if I say no they leave me to browse freely. If I say yes, I am always helped promptly, courteously, and thoroughly (i.e. I am shown many options to fulfill whatever need I have). Also, I think it's awesome that they will give you samples of any perfume you like - who else does that??? In short, I love coming to this store. I've been coming here frequently since I've moved to the Northshore- Which was 5 years ago. I've also been a VIB Rouge member for a little less than 5 years (a rewards program for extremely frequent shoppers). The reason I'm saying this, is to let you know just HOW often I come here. But tonight, was the last time I'm ever coming to this Sephora location. Your experience here is dependant on one simple thing: Whether or not you look like someone who's extremely experienced in using makeup. If you do not look like a person who frequently uses makeup, if your face doesn't resemble a barbie doll, or if you do not look like someone from a cosmopolitan magazine ad, you will NOT have a positive experience. You will be blatantly and obviously ignored. You probably won't even be smiled at. Each time (yes, seriously, each time) I have come in here, only 1-3 (depending on how busy it is) customers are prioritized. I've seen customers reach out, only to be forgotten. I'm no longer going to give my business to a place that makes me wonder if I'll be treated horribly or not. To think that a place that's meant to help people feel better about themselves, has the complete opposite effect, is more than awful-it's deplorable. No one, and certainly no customers, deserve that. read more

I went here looking to try some new foundation and was matched by a woman working. When I got home to use the product I put it on and it made my skin this strange orangy/ pink tone. My boyfriend even commented on how terrible it was. So, I had to return it. SO bad. Besides, that annoyance of not being matched correctly and comming back to return it everything was fine. Maybe some more training on matching customers- or even if one brand doesnt have a color that blends in with the cutomer's skin to suggest another line and offer those suggestions? read more
