This place is horrible. The staff is so rude that I will never go back here. I wanted to try a new foundation, so I stopped by to see if I could get some opinions. I typically go to the Boston store which is always more packed but I have never felt ignored. The staff there have eagerly shown me new products to try. So unlike the Peabody store... I walked in and after about 10 minutes (note: the store was completely empty!), a woman finally acknowledged me. I said I wanted to try a new foundation and she told me she would go get someone to help me. I watched her go to the back of the store and ask a man if he could help me. He comes up to me and gives me attitude when I asked him a simple question. He acted like I was bothering him but umm hello buddy this is your job. I said my skin was dry in some areas recently and I wanted to try something new. He then proceeded to tell me that I should not wear makeup for at least a week or two. Thenhe looked at me like I was stupid and told me he couldn't recommend anything for my dry skin because he "wasn't a doctor". No duh you moron...I am looking for a new makeup not a facelift. I felt he had no idea what he was talking about and just wanted me to leave so he could get back to talking to his friends. I get treated with more respect from the beauty advisor at CVS. I will never go back to this Sephora again! read more

Like the other reviewer, I was very happy to have a new Sephora closer to where I live to save me the drive to the Burlington Sephora. I visited this location to purchase 2 products for which I was given samples from a previous Sephora visit in Burlington. When I got to the register to pay, I was surprised I didn't receive any new samples with my purchase. Samples of products I've never tried and end up liking are what usually bring me back to Sephora to buy the full product. Anyway, when I asked about the samples, the clerk said oh we don't give away samples, we can give you a sample of something in particular you request but we just don't give them out. I was confused because I thought all Sephoras give out samples but she told me that it was that specific location that does not give them out. Now as I stood there with my purchases that I was buying based on the fact that I sampled them and would have never bought them without the try before you buy option, I couldn't help but think of what a stupid policy that would be and how I would never return to this location again. I just went into the Peabody location after having a poor experience at the Cambridgeside Galleria location earlier today, and I MUST report the great experience!!! Night and day! I walked up to Genie and asked her a question about 2 products. She was extremely knowledgable, had excellent product knowledge and was eager to help me with my core skin concerns. She referred me to Ally, the beauty specialist, which was also extremely knowledgeable, knew beauty ingredients and even back stories on some of the companies! Amazing! Genie was happy to help me and that she did! She reassured me that there was a solution and in the end I walked away with a perfect blend of products! What was even more enjoyable was that other associates in the store were providing their expert advice and feedback throughout the process! I wish I could of gotten all their names because everyone on tonight was friendly and helpful! By far one of the best customer experiences I've ever had! Well I guess I'm one person who had a good experience at this store, maybe all the good people were working that day. I'm a member of the Sephora Beauty Insider program, so I get coupons and discounts and things like that through e-mail sometimes. I got an e-mail a little while ago that said I could go into any Sephora and get 10 free skin care product samples, so I went to Sephora Peabody. I was assisted by a woman named Caroline (very, very nice). I had printed the e-mail and it said I could get a free skin consulation on Jan. 10th during certain hours, and it was Jan. 13th so I figured I wasn't gonna get that. But Caroline was more than willing to still give me the consultation for free. She asked me about my skin and things like that, and suggested products, trying all of them out on me and everything. It was like a facial, I was very happy. Then in addition to my 10 free samples, I got free samples of stuff that she had used on me and a sheet with everything she had "prescribed" and when we decided I was to use them (like how many times a day, with what, etc.). I was very happy. So I guess maybe it depends on who you get and what you're going for when you visit this Sephora. read more

I wish I could give NO STARS. employees management unprofessional!! I am still waiting for someone to call me back after six weeks ago of an incident where one of the workers grab my son by his arm. I reached out to corporate six times and no one has called me back which is fine because I'm gonna bring a lawsuit against them no one has called me or even apologize for the incident in addition they thought in referred my son is being gay and told him not to be afraid to wear lipstick but she was buying for his sister in return that made him feel very uncomfortable and that's when the woman the associate grabbed him by his arm which he had no right to do she can't do it in a mean manner but she still put her hands on my son The staff emulate the management horrible I'll never shop here again I rather go somewhere else and pay more money Sephora one day we'll get it by, they should not be in business with the customer service that they have!! This is one stop shopping for just about all your beauty needs. I used to go to the makeup/skin care counter at the department sores but Sephora pretty much has it all. They don't carry Mac so that's still a trip over to Nordstrom but I am becoming a fan of other brands too. I became a VIB (Sephora's 'very important beauty insider" program) years ago and I've noticed lately they really amped it up. For every $1 you spend you get a "point", the points add up and you get free stuff. Every time I go I get something free, nothing huge but a decent size sample of a new product. I read a few other reviews and I have to admit, the staff is a little in your face. Every time I turn a corner there is someone asking me if I am finding everything ok. One time I was in there browsing skin care stuff and this lady wouldn't leave me alone or shut up. I finally ran way form her (lol) and I think she got the hint. I don't think they work off commission so they are just trying to be helpful I guess. I've haven't met up with any bitchy people like what other people wrote, and I hope I don't , otherwise I may have to edit my rating ;-) read more

I stopped in on Monday at the Northshore Mall, Peabody MA location. I asked one of the employees if I could have her sit me down and apply a product on me that I was interested in purchasing, but was a little skeptical. She spoke to me and had said that another employee who is currently working on a different girl, would get to me as soon as she's finished. I stood there and looked at other products, and she approached me. She literally didn't take the time to have me sit down and apply this product the right way. She applied it, rushing and rudely while I was standing, and only filled in one brow. (the product I was interested in buying was the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz.) I looked in the mirror and seen a complete disaster. I was honestly so interested in the product until she applied it on me. Before she had applied it, I had mentioned to this employee that I had bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills dipbrow, and it was too harsh, expecting her to give me some advice on this product I was having her try out on me. She said nothing. She didn't say a word to me. She nodded her head and proceeded to applying this product, very fast and eager to be done with me. After she was done, she walked away, and proceeded to another customer who was sitting down; I guess waiting for her. I felt extremely not valued as a customer. She didn't even give me a makeup removing cloth to wipe off this product after (as she had only done one eyebrow.). The last time I was in this store another employee had sat me down, took her time applying the dipbrow, and did both brows and I actually left the store happy, purchased the product she applied and the brush to go with it. What I was expecting was her to apply this product the correct way, give me some advice on how to use it, and treat me like a valued customer. I ended up wiping off the product myself, and left. Typically I usually really like this Sephora and it's the one I almost always go to. Although, I went here a couple weeks ago just looking around for some new makeup, really nothing in particular. I probably spent 45min in the store and I couldn't help but notice employees asking me questions WAAAY more than usual, one lady actually started to follow me around the store. Every once in a while I'd ask questions about products I was interested in but there was this one lady who was extremely rude. I asked about a facial wipe and told her I have really sensitive skin and she said it would be fine. Then I hung around and kept looking at the wipes and reading the back of them and trying out different kinds since I'm very particular about what I put on my skin. The employee approached me again and said "really you should be fine with that"... rude. I felt like I was being followed because they thought I was stealing and they all made it obvious. read more
