I love Sephora in general, I really do. But when I went to the Sephora at the La Palmera mall, I was in love. LOL A lovely lady named Melody helped me, and when I told her I was looking for long lasting make up for my wedding she immediately took me to Make Up Forever (which I already knew was a good brand but boy did she educate me) and she oh so kindly applied it to my WHOLE face, while alot of people just do a section and leave you to be splotchy for the rest of the day. When I was hesitate to buy the concealer, even though I loved it, she made a 2 week sample for me (which Im still using). She was so friendly as well as everyone else and they just went above and beyond. I'm so incredibley happy with my makeup and I know I'm going to look amazing on my wedding day and I probably wouldn't have brought myself to Make Up Forver if it weren't for Melody's professional opinion. read more

I am a huge Sephora aficionado and I normally don't go to this location, however, recently, I am sure glad I did. A little backstory, I usually don't look for any facial products but on my recent experience it all started with just browsing around and one of the employees asked me if I needed any help with anything. It then became more of a product adventure and experiment. She asked me if I wanted to do a facial, I was a little hesitant at first but I thought to myself, why not? The facial specialist that worked with me was Jessica and she knew all the products off the top of her head that would work specifically for my face. She tested the products I wanted to try first and then gave me some product recommendations as well as testing them. She took her time with me and gave me instructions on how to use the products as well as giving me samples to try. The main thing I noticed was the customer service I received. Most of them were friendly and helpful. I also realized that Sephora is more than just makeup, the store helps all women of all beauty types. I plan on exploring more of their store rather than makeup. I plan on coming back to this store a lot more! read more

I cannot seem to remember his name but he works in the skin care area at Sephora La Cantera. He also wears glasses I believe but ANYWAYS. He is so extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to know what products do what and how they help with your skin care. I am absolutely floored by his customer service and I can always rely on him to help me when I go in there. He's awesome. I usually visit this store when I visit la cantera and this store is where I exclusively buy my cosmetics and fragrances. When I visited this store yesterday I was informed that I met the minimum 75 dollar purchase I received a free facial. I almost declined because I thought I wouldn't have enough time but they informed me that o would be next on the waiting list so I agreed and I'm so happy I did. Marissa, the skincare lead did my facial and asked questions to find out my skin type and what products would work best for me. She was very helpful in informing me of the products she was using on my skin and why they work well to help solve my skincare problems. Immediately after the facial was over my skin was noticeably softer and brighter! I honestly didn't expect to get such quick results. Even today(the day after receiving the facial) my skin is still soft and bright. I would definitely recommend taking up the offer of a facial here if you meet the deal minimum purchase! I'm not sure if you can request a specific partner to do your facial, but if you can request Marissa she was wonderful! read more

My recent visit to this Sephora location left a bad taste in my mouth. The store was pretty much dead because many customers were unaware of extended holiday hours. I was approached seconds after I entered the store by an associate who asked me if she can help me find something, which was fine. Then I was approached by another associate who really didn't offer any help, and while I was swatching samples another associate was hovering on the other side of the counter keeping watch over me. That associate wasn't even doing anything in particular, just watching me. Then, the same associate that had greeted me first checked up on me again. Shortly afterwards, I was browsing skincare and was debating on what product to get, and yet another associate approached me and offered "assistance" but was really just eyeing me to make sure I wasn't stealing. I've worked retail before and I understand to a certain extent, but this was downright uncalled for in terms of judging/profiling someone. I even got a basket to put my items in as soon as I entered the store so as not to attract unwarranted suspicion, because I had other shopping bags with me, but it didn't do any good. I spent 15 minutes in there, and was hounded everywhere I turned. There's a fine line between excellent customer service and suspecting someone of stealing, and they pretty much crossed it. I bought almost $100 of products at the end of my trip, and the cashier didn't even add the usual tissue paper the other Sephora's usually do as a courtesy. I had to tell her it was a gift to get her to do it (because it actually was a gift). I get that LaCantera is a high end shopping venue, but Sephora needs to work on re-educating their stuck up employees on how to scout out actual thieves. Plus as I mentioned earlier, the store was literally empty... why would someone choose to shoplift when they're one of only a few customers in the store, and are outnumbered by employees. I think the employees just lack common sense and professionalism. Like how they were judging me as a possible thief, yet failed to notice I was wearing a $400 watch on my wrist. If you're going to judge someone based on what they're wearing and their outer appearance, at least do it correctly! read more

I use to go to sephora all the time as it was a stress reliever for me and it was my happy place. That was until recently when I went into the sephora at la cantera after going to the doctor for an injury. I was wearing a wrist brace and my hoodie as it was cold that day. I was approached by im assuming the manager who asked me if I had merchandise in my sleeve! I was insulted at first but understood how she could be confused as my brace was bulky, I told her no and explained about my brace. That I thought was the end of it, until I noticed that she had multiple people hovering over me speaking into their headsets and all looking away as soon as I would make eye contact with them. Today I went back to use my VIB rouge coupon on some products but once again I was followed by a short blonde girl who would hover in every direction I would go. I would be in one area and she would look away when I would notice her. I left the store with no purchase as I was insulted once again. I sat outside the store waiting on my friend and I noticed that the same blonde girl and the gentleman that works there kept going to window to "put back baskets" but would make eye contact and move away. I have been a loyal customer to sephora and I am honestly extremely insulted an pissed off that my last few experiences there have been horrible which is unfortunate as I loved to go there and shop. If I could give the manager, the gentleman and the blonde girl less than 1 Star I would because that's what they deserve. I came in yesterday looking for somebody who could help me find a match for my foundation and also help me with contouring. Kevin was the biggest help ever and the sweetest employee working. He made sure to teach me everything I wanted and made sure to answer all of my questions. I love that he wasn't just trying to sell me products but instead really i wanted to help achieve the look i wanted. He spent a lot of time with me and I didn't feel rushed or like I was bothering him. Left me very impressed with this store and their employees! read more

So just a casual day of course, and I needed to re-up on my moisturizer. It's expected to have 1 or two employees ask to assist you, or greet you while strolling throughout the store. However, when 1 employee continues to ask you if you need help(3-4 times), or if things are okay it can start to become an issue.Also, with each response being "No, but thank you". From what i observed, me and my friend were the only two African Americans in the store so it was beyond obvious she was racial profiling. It literally disgusted me once my friend brought it to my knowledge that she was scanning us every inch of the store. Not only was I surprised, but shocked because I've worked retail and realize that you should keep an eye out for people who have strange body language or fidget with certain items and just are overall strange, but we were none of those. love sephora's selection and their awesome return policy. they also have free makeup tutorials if you buy a certain amt of stuff. great for if you are new to makeup or just want to update your look. the employees are always nice, not pushy, and actually helpful if you are looking for something in particular. the line can get a little long on weekends, but usually moves pretty quickly. i'd say this location has a good amount of "tester" stuff so if you wanna give something a try before you buy it, come here first! i would shop at this actual store more, but shopdiscover gives at least 5% cashback so i usually check things out on there first. the store is great for convenience though, if you need something quick or actually need someone to help you pick out a shade, etc. read more

This is my favorite beauty shop. The one here and at North Star are great but I go to this one more often. I have met several employees who are so helpful with finding makeup. Beth stands out. She showed me several options and even did quick eye makeup on me so I could get an idea of what one item looked like on me. For someone like me who knows nothing about makeup Sephora is heaven. The employees are very knowledgeable. I like their makeup selection but I would love if they had more hair care products, as well as more natural and organic brands. I was looking for something that would moisture my dry cracked looking face. I knew if I asked for some help i would be pushed to purchase some expensive creams and products . One of the girls offered some help and I love love loved her attitude all the way. 1. She did not push all these expensive products nor did she tell me how my skin routine needed all these steps. Staff don't realize but u are basically saying my skin needs a lot of help when you suggest all those steps. Anyway. I think she worked for IT cosmetics but she didn't bombard me with their products. I did however buy a cream from that line. Confidence in a cream. Omg! That stuff has made my skin so DAMN SMOOTH. I touch my face and smile when I feel how smooth it has become.
