I'm a pretty regular customer of Sephora and never in my life have I felt more uncomfortable than I did tonight with my husband. We had 3-4 people ask us if we needed help with anything. Usually nice and welcomed but after the 3rd time in a row of being asked rudely by some chick named Stephanie (manager) ?? I have never felt so off-put by a shopping experience in this store. Nothing warranted her continuously asking us "if we needed help", and hovering near us, and then again asking if he needed help from the register when I was an aisle over from him in the very back of the store. My husband was on his phone following me and I was looking at products from afar not really touching anything other than the two products I bought. I'm not sure if this behavior was because I pulled out my lip glosses from my purse to show my husband which ones I had and liked so he had ideas for valentines or that the store was closing in 15 minutes but we were out of the store by 7:50pm before their 8pm closing. Safe to say I will be going to the close location at the RIM or the quarry from now on. read more

Worst shopping experience ever! A man that works there with large drawed on eyebrows (looked like a cartoon character) refused to help me. I was trying to purchase two expensive bottles of perfume. He took his time looking for it, and than he told another male employee he was going on break. He walked to the back, and I never saw him again. Another women decided to help me and gave me a bottle of perfume that was clearly used and had been opened. Who wants to pay full price for a used bottle of perfume? There were multiple sales associates standing around yet no one would check customers out or assist with purchases. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else other than the Rim. read more

Went there last week. Purchased an item that I was charged for and it wasn't put in my bag. Had an item in my basket that the cashier also forgot to ring up so didn't get that either. Had to go through hell and back with the manager on the phone (we live 45 miles from a Sephora) and in the meantime took my business elsewhere. The manager, Jennifer, was awful. Doesn't treat the customer properly, didn't go out of her way to make it right. Took 5 days just to say she would credit my Sephora card. Think maybe they'd offer to send me the item (either one?)? Nope! The cashier was also in her own little world and didn't respond to a question I asked 3 times. Won't be going back there. read more

Super busy store! The associates were very helpful and great at color matching as needed, providing advice and giving honest appreciated feedback. I got 2 of 3 items I wanted. For the one I didn't get, they had the product in tester but out of stock in store. (I added it to my wish list to get later.) They offered to order online but it was also out of stock. Their return policy is horrible. Wife bought a perfume for my daughter on Nov 25 for Christmas. We went in to return on 30 December with a receipt and unopened and they refused the return because it was past the return window. What kind of company has a crappy return policy that you can't retried an UNOPENED Christmas gift. This is the last time my wife and daughter will ever spend money in that store again. read more

She also continuously asking if I needed help, she asked three times and I was only in the store for ten minutes. He gave me such great advice and made me feel so welcome even though I was there right until close. He never made me feel rushed and was the most welcoming person and listened to my every need and met them. I've been a long time Sephora customer and I've never had a negative experience at a Sephora store until visiting this location. I was making a purchase and asked if I could get my free birthday gift for the year but a lady at the cash register proceeded to tell me that because it's 2 months after my birthday I can't get it anymore. I've NEVER had an issue with this in the past and she said the policy "just changed." But if the policy just changed could u not make an exception for a long time loyal customer and just notify them that in the future this is how it will be?? Instead of going back and forth and being so hard headed and unfriendly in what ended up being an extremely uncomfortable conversation and experience. (Especially when I wasn't notified of any upcoming policy change that would directly affect me.) Honestly no knowledge in customer service skills and felt like they didn't care about the customers experience at all. The lady did not seem nice or friendly what so ever, just kinda rude. Also would like to point out that I noticed a lot of employees standing around and not seeming to be doing much which is a bit unusual at a Sephora store in my experience. I'm a sucker for Sephora. I buy mostly prestige makeup from them including Urban Decay, Makeup Forever, Nars, Stila, etc. For skincare, I use Esteem Lauder for the most part so I usually shop at Nordstrom. I always order online due to convenience but I do also come to this location pretty often. Recently I purchased almost $200 worth of beauty products on two separate trips in a week so things do add up here and there as they rarely have sales. But I do like their reward points system and all the free samples that come with the order. This particular location is always busy but I was offered help every time I was there. I booked a makeover session with a makeup artist a couple of weeks ago. She was super nice, did my whole face makeup and also taught me several beauty techniques. I ended up purchasing several items she recommended and they all were pretty great. What I loved was the color IQ test. They have this magical little machine that provides color matching to help find the true match for your foundation. I heard they also have skincare IQ and fragrance IQ. I have yet to do those. Sephora will probably continue to have my money. Somehow I never seem to be able to catch their once a year 20% sale. That's a shame. But still I just can't resist. A girl owes it to the society to look beautiful inside and out, damn straight! read more

So, just to let it be known: I'm in my 30s and have never had a "professional" makeover. I've been buying my makeup from Walmart and Target since I started wearing it 17 years ago. I did my own makeup at my wedding, and almost 5 years later, I'm still perfectly happy with how it turned out. But every time I walked past Sephora, I had this nagging sensation that I needed to get in there and be taught how to actually do my makeup like an adult. Sooooo I made an appointment online for a 45 minute makeover, which is "free" if you spend around $50. I thought that was a good deal - I know that fancy makeup costs more than a couple dollars like I'm used to. :) Unfortunately, my experience wasn't quite what I wanted it to be. I went on a day off, which was also a day off for all young girls and college students...and apparently Sephora is a popular spot. It was crazy busy, so if you're already overwhelmed and not really knowing what to do, you'd be better off going on a random Tuesday morning when everyone else is in school or at work. The two girls who helped me were both super friendly and sweet. They seemed interested in what I wanted to achieve from the visit, and appeared to grab items that matched my interests. Although the makeover was helpful in some aspects (matching the foundation to my skin tone, and helping me with the application of blush/highlighter/bronzer), it was mostly a waste of time. My skin looked okay, but my eye and lip makeup were terrible. I told them I wear lots of mascara (seriously, lots) and I could obviously see that almost ALL of the staff at Sephora had mega lashes, whether they were fake or just with lots of mascara. But my lady almost let me walk out of the store with absolutely no lashes - I had to ask her to put some on me. As far as customer service went afterwards, my makeover specialist didn't try to push anything on me that I didn't want (which I appreciated!). I named the things that I liked and she was happy to let me just purchase those items. But the checkout person seemed less than interested, and no one else was very helpful. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I wanted to walk out of there feeling like I had a professional makeover, AND also feeling confident and beautiful. Instead I got to my car, looked in the mirror, and felt embarrassed at having walked through La Cantera looking like I did. I think from now on I'll stick to Youtube videos and Amazon. read more

I went to this Sephora to get my birthday freebie and had such a rude experience from a cashier. From the beginning she was giving straight up attitude. I was in the process of deciding which Sephora freebie I wanted but i had forgotten my glasses at home so I asked her what that first package was blush or lipstick. She gives me a rude smirk and says in a slow manner "It's blush" and continues on to talk about me to her coworker laughing next to her as if I can't hear her. I wanted to say something but it wasn't worth having my birthday ruined over some rude employee. I believe her name was BIANCA but it was this young girl with blonde hair. The rest of the employees were great and helped me find my shade of foundation. I wish I remembered that nice lady's name but this cashier left a horrible taste in my mouth. I am not a huge make up person, I usually come to Sephora to get my moisturizers and that's about it. I however saw that you can make an appointment to get a free make over (as long as you spend $50 in store, which is so easy to do, stock up on your regulars!) I had a special occasion party that I needed to get dolled up for. I was set up with Eneri as my stylist and she turned me into a work of art! She immediately made me feel comfortable and explained what she was doing the entire time. As I said before I am a make up novice and had no clue about anything. Eneri really transformed me into a Hollywood star! She made me feel very special and I received many compliments from customers walking through the store. I really wanted to give her a tip for the amazing job she did, however they aren't allowed to accept tips. So I thought the next best thing would to leave an amazing review! Definitely consider going to Sephora next time you need your make up done, skip the salon! These ladies know their stuff! read more

Cosmetic selection is great! From make-up to perfume, I always find what I need. I also love the Beauty Rewards, because they give out free samples of the latest name brand products, when you reach a certain amount of points. Customer service: You know when there is a fly that just keeps buzzing around you, and will not go away no matter how many times you swat at it? That is how I feel when I come here. I get asked if I need help very frequently. I am also watched with my every move. I understand lost prevention tactics, but making your customers feel like thieves is just annoying. I even had one sales woman give my friend a shopping basket and said "Incase you are tempted to steal that lipstick." I will never forget that experience. It was mortifying! Sephora is one of my happy places, to walk through, browse and swatch the colors. This one is located at La Cantera and is a great way to spend an afternoon. The staff here are friendly, and helpful. Recently, I scheduled a 45 minute makeover. I made the appointment for a Tuesday afternoon, and it was not busy at all. The employee greeted me right away, and quickly set me up. I removed all my make up, answered some questions about my skin type and the look I was going for, and then we began. She came up with a subtle, smoky look and a nude lip. She explained everything she did to my skin to prep it, and the techniques that she used to apply the make up. She was very friendly, and helpful- making me feel comfortable and keeping up a light conversation. Every time I walk in, I see four or five employees just standing around and chatting. Maybe I look like I know what I'm doing, but I usually don't and often have questions about the products. I've only once been offered a sample and/or product matching. And if I have a question I've always had to track someone down. Luckily, it's really easy to get online and research what I want to pick up at the store. The website has tons of reviews and tips from other people. If I had better self-control, I'd just make my purchases online, but I have a problem with delaying gratification..................gotta have it now!!! I've had very pleasant experiences here. I think I like this store more than the North Star location. The products are tidy and well stocked. I have never had issues finding what I'm looking for. The staff has always been great to me. They are there when I need them but don't hover. The not-hovering part is most important to me. My favorite Sephora store in all of San Antonio, customer service is always great here! Sephora has a large range of makeup from different brands, a bit pricy, but I always buy my makeup here because it lasts me months! The store is always kept in place, and clean. As for their customer service, from the minute I walk in, I am greeted by staff! Staff here is are always very helpful, in providing recommendations for what type of makeup you are looking for. In addition, my boyfriend was looking for a perfume and one of the staff members, provided his expertise in perfumes, and even provided us with samples of the perfumes. I am also a member of their beauty awards, which I love, I am always getting free things on my birthday, and use my points for free samples of products. read more

I was about to go in here a few days ago & just needed one thing today & knew exactly what it was I needed to get. I was kind of in a hurry because I had a meeting to be at in less than an hour. They have an employee sitting at a table outside of the door who starts to give a spiel about "don't touch any samples, don't touch employees" whatever. About 45 seconds in I was basically like "ok it's got to be almost over soon" and slowly started inching closer to the door. And she was like "oh wait I'm not done yet, it will just be a few more minutes." So basically a 3 minute spiel to enter the store over some bs virus that everyone already knows the proper protocol for, these kinds of precautions have been taken everywhere for months now. I politely had to cut it short and said "nevermind I'm in a hurry I don't have time." So I went and purchased the product at Macy's instead. At first I wanted to purchase it at Sephora because I've been on the beauty insider rewards program for years & I wanted to get the points, otherwise I would have just bought it from Macy's in the first place since I was parked closer to there. Although customer service is not mean or rude, they are always there. If shopping on a week night, you may be outnumbered by the sales associates, who linger in one area and are eyeing you down. You cannot sample items at times, because they come over to ask how it was and if you would like some suggestions. Now, I know they are doing their job, but at times I have to be borderline rude to ask them to leave me alone. On the weekends, it is busy as could be, and you are trying to find your way in the throng of the crowd. I like the Sephora brand, but this store is not the best representative for the company. read more
